Five Stars for Dave's Hot Chicken! I’m not usually a fan of fried chicken—most of the time, it just tastes like oil to me. But this place completely changed my mind. My husband saw a TikTok from a Mexican content creator who raved about it being the best fried chicken he’s had, so we decided to check it out—and wow, he was right. The chicken is incredibly flavorful and juicy, not greasy at all. What really blew me away was the perfect combination of textures and flavors in their sliders: the tender chicken, the tangy pickles, the kale slaw, and that delicious sauce they drizzle on top—it’s magic. Even the loaded fries were spot on with the same trio of toppings. It all looks so simple, but the balance is just chef’s kiss. We did order for dine-in but received our food packed for take-out. Honestly, it wasn’t a big deal. The restaurant itself is clean and spacious, and the service was fast and friendly. Overall, it was an awesome experience, and honestly, the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. We ordered one tender & slider combo with fries, one small loaded fries, another slider with fries, and one drink. It came out to about $35.

We waited 15 minutes, which told me that it was made fresh. Customer service was meh. Their sauce is just straight up mayo. Their flavor variety is impressive. For such a limited menu, I think they nailed it. Chairs are soo uncomfortable. But I get the vibe. The bathroom smells like a$$. Would still come back. Fries were good and so was the mac.

I love this chicken! It’s a must try! I updated my ratings I must say that the management team reached out I was surprised! They wanted to see why I did not give them that 5th star, they actually took it serious and wanted to know why to make the adjustments to improve. Thats great customer service outreach! I will be stopping by soon to see if they have adjusted and see if that 5th star is earned.

Ok, the meals are a bit pricy when each slider has only 1, uno, single "chicken strip" between the buns. They do not have a normal sized chicken sandwich. However, because the sliders are so darn good - chicken tender being perfect, slaw being perfect, the spice level being perfectly right - we will be returning soon even when none of the locations are close to us. Not a fan of the fries. They are small in portion size, too salty, and too dry for my taste. The slushy only has one size, and the cup size is pretty small. Hence, will be getting sliders only😍🙌🏻 PS. They didn't expect tips here 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻 Update on 7/31/2025: We have gone back already, and the fries were better & chicken strips were bigger this time 🥳🎉

The food was seasoned nicely, especially the chicken. Also don’t underestimate the spice of the chicken, it’s very spicy. Jairius was very kind and respectful to us.

This place has been hyped up for years and I'd been putting off trying it out because I assumed it wouldn't be worth it. However, I was pleasantly surprised and ended up really enjoying my food. My sister and I placed an online order for pickup. It was ready by the time we got there on a Monday around lunch time. I can't speak to the vibe of the place because we ate in the car. I ordered a mild slider and tender with some fries. The slider had a decent kick and I probably could have ordered a level up or two in spice. The fries were seasoned very well and the Dave's sauce they came with was pretty tasty. Everything was hot and tasted fresh. The pickles are always a nice addition to the meal. Overall, if I'm in the mood for some hot chicken I would definitely come back! This is the top tier hot chicken place for a reason.

Super slow. 2 employees sitting out among customers, not doing a thing. Doesn't look like the swept the floor in days.

The food is good, but there are better fried chicken spots in Houston for sure. The service was good, the employees were nice and welcoming. It's a nice environment, and the restaurant is clean.

My first time trying Dave hot chicken and based on the price and quality, will be my last. I love the chicken, the flavors, the crispy pickles and the snap from it, but a competitor comes to mind, Raisin Canes. So think about it, for a 2 tender, 2 slices of bread, pickles, a side of dipping sauce, and NO DRINk for $12.49, I just don't see the value. A Raisin Cane 3 finger combo with a drink, same deal: toast, fries, dipping sauce and 1 extra tender for $9.23, I just feel the value isn't here at Dave's. I will say the spice level is amazing, it's wayy more intense than Canes since I got the hot spice. Dave hot chicken is an amazing taste and competitor but it's too expensive, less chicken 2 tenders vs 3, and the tenders I got, were paper thin. I mean did the tenders come from a farm that didn't feed its chickens? Buffalo Wild Wings, Wing stop tenders, alll are better than Dave. Plumper, juicer, bigger, more flavor is with other competitors, Dave just doesn't have the juicer, bigger, or plumber. Sorta sad considering how expensive they are.

Good food takes time and trust this, the wait is worth it. The people working this location were pretty friendly and efficient. We ordered strips and sliders. The chicken is so tender. The heat was good considering everyone has different definitions of what hot is. There was a nice amount of heat. The mac & cheese was super creamy and delicious. it looked like they were understaffed this particular afternoon, but they hustled and got everyone's orders very quickly without sacrificing food quality. In my own opinion, I believe the hype over this place is worth a visit.

When they say hot they mean it. We've been seeing the trend of hot chickens popping up a lot and we came here last Friday for the first time. It was lunch and we did not want to go to Phoenicia without food. We order the tenders with fries. The sauce is Mayo heavy, so if you do not like Mayo avoid it. The tenders themselves were juicy and had crispy batter. They dusted with more seasoning. I can't say it distracted me enough from how oily it tasted. Maybe the temp was off or maybe they over crowded the fryer due to lunch rush? We got our food via drive thru and it was busy since it was lunch time. I do not think I will be returning here.

Daves Hot Chicken is a safe hot chicken restaurant you can find practically anywhere. While this location seems to be more modern and clean, most likely due to it opening recently, there's nothing exciting about it. I would much rather support a local small business than a chain I can find for much richer food. Don't get me wrong, I love how the chicken is Hilal friendly, but again, there was nothing that stood out to me. All in all, it was a good first experience, but I don't think it's worth going to go back.

First time here and the food was good. My kids wanted to try the Reaper but we were quickly advised not to and thank goodness we only got Hot because it was REALLY hot! Fries were good and crispy and the Dave's sauce was the best on the food too. Don't eat it without the Dave's Sauce. Service was good and they pushed through a big crowd fairly quickly.

Dave's Hot Chicken has been popping up all over Houston, and I can definitely see why. The interior of the restaurant was very clean and spacious. I got the #2 with two sliders and fries at the medium level. The sliders were not too big and were the perfect size for me, as a usual burger is always a bit too much for me. However, if you like bigger servings than one slider may be a bit smaller. The fries were hot, and the crinkle-cut makes it crispy. The chicken was crispy on the edges and were fresh, but it was not very spicy. I got the medium, and my friend got the hot level. However, I would not say it is spicy at all. Overall, Dave's Hot Chicken is a solid chicken sandwich and elevated from the standard fast food chicken sandwich chains.

I'm going to give it a four star because it hits the spot when it needs to hit the spot . I don't recommend going here if you are needing some high high-quality food. However, I do go here when I'm just trying to grab a bite to eat for like lunch or if I have a taste for chicken sandwich. Customer service is always cool and the ambience is pretty cool too. It's always nice and cold.

Zero star, worst experience ever. I ordered a simple order: plain sides and fries. The order took 31 minutes and it still came out wrong. Blame games but no solutions. Don't waste your time or money here. And the food was cold after they change it ( maybe they gave is a rejected item). Never again!

Came late night and I guess they said they didn't care what they served. Asked for cheese fries and after waiting 30 mins in drive thru they handed me my order without cheese. When I told the young lady she then took it back politely and added cheese. I was grateful she fixed the mistake and as I drove away I realized, she must've heard fries with my cheese instead of cheese on my fries bc it was a soggy cheese mess... like why she do me like that?? After waiting that long I'm really salty about it. Threw the whole meal away and lost my damn appetite .. Not happy. From the wait to the food .. she was nice but dang.. what a waste of money and time

So I've been trying to get over here for a while, but freshly didn't have the desire to. They changed after seeing a review on TikTok. So decided to pull up. I pulled up as soon as they opened, so the place wasn't dirty and I went to the drive-thru. There was a few folks waiting outside to go in and I just decided do the other thing. Now for the haul: The Number 1 combo (one tender, one slider with cheese and slaw and Dave sauce) and an individual tender(including bread, pickles and Dave's sauce) at medium heat level. Tackled the individual tender first. The presentation was not the best the sauciest.That white bread looked like Wonder bread to me. Not a great taste but doable for the moment. Should have went for a spicier level for one I didn't get any and two that seasoning that was added before serving threw me off. Made the tender a bit gritty to me. Add the pickles, sauce OR the honey??? Better. The bun on the slider was soft and buttery and all the flavors mashed well. Especially the kale slaw. The fries were basic salt and fried golden brown. To be honest , I would go back but only for a tender combo in hot.

DHC. ( Dave's hot chicken) has found it's way at the top of my list for hot chicken sandwiches. I've had them in jersey, Texas and Michigan and the food quality and service has been consistent. I normally go for the number 2 which is 2 sliders with French fries and ones with side of pickles and that soooo good special sauce. The sliders are absolutely delicious. Bursting with seasoning and flavor, topped with pickles and coleslaw and their sauce. The French fries are crispy, golden and crinkled. Their level of heat for the chicken varies from " no spice - light mild - mild - medium - hot - extra hot - reaper". I usually go with the hot, but my next choice will be extra hot and then reaper for the challenge. Ambiance is fine. Plenty of spots, although gets challenging if the line to order is long.

Ohhhhhheeeeeee the chicken here is actually spicy!! I loved it lol. I did the two slider plate one mild and one medium. If you like heat but don't handle it well, definitely go with the light mild. There does were pretty okay but I would've liked to have a ranch or something, especially given the spice of the chicken. The Macncheese was pretty good as well. Not too liquify but not dry!

They are giving to much chicken in your sandwich. If I want to fry chicken. I can go to Popeyes to eat it. It's hard to eat big chicken with small bun. I thought Dave went to Japan to get his training from su chef. This is most basic meal to make by Japanese trained chef. This chicken was horrible. I had to for combo of 2 small chicken sandwiches and fries and small coke. It came to 19 dollars. This is too much money. Unless they are using gold leaf foil in chicken sandwiches. I can to chick flea and chicken combos cost around 9 dollars. This is double the money. I am not billionaire to spend that much money on basic chicken sandwiches. Dave is also doing Netflix show. I think he is horrible cook in the kitchen. I am never back to that horrible big size of chicken.it's is horrible food.

My first time trying Dave's at this location was excellent. Employees were welcoming and friendly. I loved it so much that I had to come back a second time a year later. I was disappointed with this time around with the service that was provided. The staff was definitely not friendly and considerate. Waited on my food for @25 min and it still didn't come out. Luckily, I went to the counter and asked why it was taking so long because a few other people that ordered after I did had already received their food. I was told that they had to wait another 10 min until it would be ready. I didn't mind waiting, but the fact that the staff was nonchalant about the situation, I respectfully requested a refund and left. Smh y'all gotta do better. It does not take almost 30 min for a Dave #3

Brad K. We went there for the first time with our daughter and three of our grandchildren. Suffice to say, we won't return. Two of our grandchildren's favorite meal is spicy chicken. The third, likes hers without spice. My granddaughter and one of my grandsons took two bites, my other grandson finished half of his. My wife just asked, "what are you doing", when I told her she said, "Blah, not tasty. She had hers, without spice. My daughter and I finished eating because we hadn't eaten since breakfast and it was 3:30 PM. We have better chicken at home.

Warm, not HOT! 2nd visit. No 3rd date DAVE! 1st visit asked for mild and got extreme heat

We were in the area and decided to try this place. So it was a weird vibes with the painting but very original and creative. There was three options to order on the menu and how hot you would like the chicken. I got HOT and it was doable, the chicken was so fresh and yummy!!! We got the meal that has the sliders and one piece of chicken tender. Kind of like raisin canes but 2.0. We also got the macaroni and that was no good. Really watery and tasted like it was warmed up from a container BUT the chicken and fries were BOMB really pricey tho and the meals don't come with a drink. They also had their sauce but tasted like the sauce from IN & OUT. Nice little spot tho glad we were able to taste this place! The order did it take a little minute but well worth it and customer service was alright.

I have been to a couple DHC and this one is by far the worst. I placed an online order and arrived 3 minutes before the ready time. I opened my cauliflower sandwich and it was sitting in a pool of oil. The cauliflower itself was double the size of the bun. It dripped so much oil that the bottom bread was complete mush. I tried to take a bite but the bread soaked up so much oil it was disgusting. The best part of the meal was the cheese fries. For 1.50 extra for cheese I would appreciate more cheese as the cheese was so minimal most of my fries didn't have any cheese just the few at the top. I asked my husband how his chicken sandwich was expecting they just haven't mastered the cauliflower but he had the same complaint. His box had a pool of oil. The kids were able to eat their fries and flavorless Mac n cheese and be ok. For one cauliflower sandwhich, 3 chicken, 3 cheese fries, 3 sodas it was almost $70! I would skip this place.

I'm not sure what the hype was about but in my opinion it wasn't that good. While I enjoyed the cool/fun decor & the service was nice. My meal was pretty lackluster considering I paid $15 bucks to receive okay chicken tenders. I decided to order their #1 combo that comes with 2 pieces of tenders & fries. I also ordered their Mac & Cheese as well. For the spice level I asked for it to be hot & they did deliver it in terms of heat, however the chicken was bland. I was more disappointed that it didn't taste like it had came right out the fryer piping hot; it was warm at best. In addition the tenders were not that moist either. The only positive thing that I can say is the spice level was on point & it was crunchy from the outside. My Mac & Cheese was above par but it wasn't as creamy as how I would've like it to be. Sadly, I enjoyed the fries more than the tenders. They did provide their sauce which I was hoping it'll make the tenders taste better; nope not really. Basically I was dipping them into mayonnaise. It was boring & something anybody could've made. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience & even though the service was good I'm not sure if I'll be back. Tip: they have a drive thru as well.

Great service! The cashier was super nice and attentive. The restaurant had lots of seating and was really open and clean. The food came out in about 10-15 min. The sandwiches were surprisingly bigger than we expected and tasted really good! We got the extra spicy and medium. Extra spicy could be spicier.

It's good chicken. I don't like spicy, so happy they had milder options. Flavorful without the burn. Pretty pricey though for just chicken tenders. Expensive. Service could've been better... cashier got the milkshake wrong plus didn't give me the drink I asked for.

There is no words to express how good this food was. My goodness!!! I was riding around and I happen to stop by. I ordered the 1 Tender + 1 Slider w/fries (Combo #3) Mild. When I say, you don't need nothing more then that mild lol, sheesh!! It got a lil heat to it but it was good. They have all types of heat including the hottest called the REAPER. I won't be trying it lol. Only down side about the establishment is the combos do not come with a drinks smh. It's a add on which is crazy to me. Besides that the food was good but it will make you sweat. I'll definitely be back

The atmosphere and aesthetics are really good! I love the artwork on the walls, 5/5! The staff was also nice and got my order ready and served promptly, 5/5. I got a chicken sandwich that is extra hot. It wasn't that hot but it had a nice kick on the back of my throat. I will get the reaper flavor to test my spice limit. Their vanilla milkshake was okay could've been a more thicker Overall, 4/5. Would I go back here with my friends and family? Rarely, it's a bit expensive.

2 nights in a row I have to walk out because they take too long just to order. They literally look at you and walk right pass you. Customer service is gonna be the death of this place.

Sunday afternoon me and my mom went to daves chicken. we ordered the #2 medium spicy. Kole slaw on the side and loaded fries with cheese . Vanilla shake and Unsweetened tea. Instead we got #2 with no pickles? (i am pregnant thats one of the main things i love ) their were like 10 frys and Barely any cheese?! It was like they took a ketchup packet that haf cheese in it and just dumped it . and i got a chocolate shake? again im pregnant so i am very picky with my order. My mom who is diabetic Got a sweet tea?! Are u actually joking me?! Mikal P was the one who took our order! and said that the daves chicken sauce was in the bag too! No sauce .I mean the prices for everything we paid just to get the whole opposite!‍

We ate the Dave's NOT chicken and it was surprisingly really good, a bit greasy but good. Just make sure to order it at least mild

Came here for a late night snack. I'm glad they open late because food options are limited. First time here and I didn't have high expectations just cause I'm bias towards another hot chicken place..well, I was blown away! The service was great and friendly and the food was better than I expected! Got #3. The medium spice is exactly what I asked for with a good amount of seasoning. The outside batter was very crunchy and the chicken was oh so moist. They were cooked perfectly. This place has an edge up on the other chicken place because they don't charge me for extra pickles ha. Im glad I gave this place a try and would definitely consider coming back here for another late night snack. What's awesome is that if you check-in you get a complimentary soda or milkshake! Win win!

Oh man. I'm so happy Dave's is here in Houston. About damn time hehe. So I had Dave's when I went to LA, and honestly it was the best thing ever. I raved about it to everyone I knew. Fast forward- houston started opening up so many hot chicken spots. It is so over done at this point- some good and some just mediocre. Now Dave's- let me tell you about my man Dave. He is amazing. Went here this past weekend, and wow. I'm soooo happy!!!! Really fast service, honestly reminded me of Chick-fil-A with the way they are so fast and efficient. They have a drive thru as well FYI!!!! We ordered the combo 1 and combo 2. Number 1 is two sliders with fries, and 2 is one slider and one chicken tender. I went with the medium spice level which kind of threw me off. It really wasn't spicy at all. I was looking for more of a kick. But, it was still delicious so I can't complain. I will definitely be returning!!!

I have been wanting to try this place so when my co-worker suggested it, I was happy to try it. We were immediately greeted by Ben when we walked in. Ben did a superb job with customer service!!! He was patient and answered questions about spice levels. I decided on the chicken tender (Hot) and the sandwich (medium). I loooooooooove spice but I will not go beyond Hot here (thanks Ben!!!). The food was fresh and hot (temperature)!!! I enjoyed it!! I would return when I am in the mood for it.

Great place for hot chickens, quick meals, and fun hanging out around! They only serve either hot chicken tenders or chicken sandwiches, or the mix. But these chickens are so good! Again, simple and great, strongly recommended!

Service was great. The chicken came seasoned to perfection and sauced well. The fries were also seasoned. Parking was available at the lot. They even have their own special Dave's sauce which paired nicely with the meal. The pickles were super fresh too yummm.

We come here for lunch today with my kids. The service here is so bad. We ordered no spicy chicken slider meal for my 6 year old kid. They bring us very spicy chicken. We told them to give them the correct order. After 10 mins, they bring us the same thing ( with bite we try at first) and they said they made a new one. What a cheating service. Won't never come back.

It was my first time trying their chicken and after taking their food home for to go and eating it I felt disappointed on how bland their chicken was. The place looks nice. Service was good. Just the taste could of been better. The fries was better than the chicken for sure.

This was the first place I went to visiting Houston! I got the #1 combo with 2 chicken tenders and fries. There's a lot of variety with the spice levels from no spice to reaper and I ended up getting Mild. For me it was just a tiny kick of spice which was perfect.

Ordered mild #3 combo to-go. Per yelp i live 4.5 miles away and by the time i got home the fries were lukewarm, so I suggest eating in. However, the large sized sliders were hot enough, crispy, and sure didn't feel mild. The chicken smelled delicious on the drive home- i could smell the cumin primarily. The chicken is sweet but salty, so watch out if you have high bp. The taste is good but too salty; the sweet does not hide it. Its a different kind of taste in fried chicken tenders, try it!

It was my first time going to this place because my nephews told me to check it out and I had a horrible experience. The service is the poorest I've ever experienced. Placed my order at 8:45pm didn't get my food until 9:27pm. The burn was soggy and it barely had any kale slaw. The fries were so salty. The food was meh!!!! I was so excited to check it out but quickly disappointed! What a waste of money and my time.

Real spicy chicken! Now Popeyes try but it's just not spicy enough. Churches tries but it's only spicy at certain locations at certain times that's not consistent enough to give them credit. Even KFC tried but failed horribly with Nashville Hot grossness. Canes refuse to try and Chick-fil-A won't either except in a sandwich. Entering the Ring .. is Dave. Dave done did that thing y'all. Dave has done it y'all. Dave has achieved it everyone. Dave succeeded citizens of Gotham! Gurl! Dave crazy! However you want to say it! Dayum that chicken is hot! Okay so I was passing by this place and was immediately attracted to the name. It was early at like 11AM the day after Thanksgiving. I'm like "with a name like that I have to try it." I pull up to the window and there was only one car in line. I'm guessing they just opened. The menu was really cut and dry and didn't have a lot of options. I was a bit disappointed that they only had strips and not chicken pieces. But oh well nobody else seems to offer spicy chicken strips in this city so why not. I order 2 extra hot and 3 reaper hot strips praying that name was from the Carolina Reaper pepper which is one of the hottest peppers on earth. Now that's all I ordered for me so I order a few sliders of the same for others to try. I was also shocked the lady at the window asked for my name for the ticket when there were only 2 cars in the line. Well come to find out that these guys don't make it until you order it. So there is a wait time. You can complain if you want but I will always wait for fresh made chicken. Usually it's worth it. Let me tell you .. it was. The spice is real! And I love it. It's about dang time someone did it right. Now I imagined it would be from the marinate but it's not. It's mainly due to the seasoning of powder on the chicken. Let me also note the the strip aren't small. They are huge so you don't need to order like 10 strips thinking you're at canes. It's not the same. Although I am on the fence on a 5 star review, I'm giving it to them anyways because dammit they actually nailed spicy were everyone else teases spicy. I just hope eventually they sell chicken by the piece like breast and thighs and that they can master the marinade version vs the dusting. Reap and Prosper!

Last night I arrived exactly 1 hour before closing. I did not leave the drive-through until 20 minutes after closing. I was so hungry and I thought that coming here to get food would be a great idea. Oh boy was I wrong. Little ole me just asked for a simple slider and fries but unfortunately the only thing that was worth consumption was my bottled water. My sandwich was completely drenched in cole slaw. They added cheese to my sandwich after I said "no cheese", fyi I'm lactose intolerance. I feel like this establishment not only doesn't care about the quality of my food but as well as my disability intolerance :( . Not only that, my chicken was COLD. Cold like "There must be some Toros in the atmosphere." I am not a Karen, I am just a girl who wanted a hot #4 no cheese with light coleslaw. I know now that when I am starving, that I should take my hard earned dollars to Chick Fil A, because at least over there, they say "My Pleasure!"

This place was awesome! Amazing food! Very clean and super nice friendly staff. They were so nice to my son and I. They let me try the reaper it was pretty HOT, but don't go off my judgment as almost nothing is HOT to me. Great experience and will go back many more times!

Went through drive thru at 8pm Saturday. I ordered a #3 meal (chicken tenders & sliders with fries) medium spicy and a side of extra fries. We had to park & wait for our order. After 10 minutes The guy eventually brought out the fries. He forgot my #3 so he went back to get it. I waited a few more minutes and got that. Came home-- the extra fries came with 2 chicken tenders (he gave us meal #1 --the wrong order) and my #3 medium spicy chicken meal had no spiciness to it. It was a darker color than the other chicken but tasted the same. The sandwich had a tiny bit of cabbage but no flavor. I wasn't impressed at all.

I've been so impatient to try Dave's ever since they opened a Houston location! Service was really quick and didn't wait long for my food at all. Chicken was super tender and had a good meat-batter ratio. The bread could be way better lol Fries had a nice crisp to them & the comeback sauce just tasted like spicy mayo. Overall, kind of pricey and not really worth the hype imo
