Dave's Hot Chicken

Best ever, my first time and will miss this when we head to our native Malaysia. Good portion, well-presented, delicious sauce, uniquely crispy but not battered styles but kind of course grains or spices. The use of honey compliment the juicy chicken so brilliantly.

It Was my First Time Here and Claudia Was So Amazing , From the Greet and to the Helpful options Given to Choose from the Delicious Menu .The Space was Clean , Tables , Food was Fresh and I Appreciated the Service given By The Lovely Claudia ❤️Thank You I will be Back … And I Did Order food to Go as well 👏🏾👌🏾

Dave's Hot Chicken never disappoints, and we had such excellent experience at this location. The service was fast, friendly, and fantastic. The food met our high expectations. My chicken sandwich was pretty good. We'll definitely stop by here again next time we're passing through.

The staff was excellent, very courteous, and helpful. Elliott, thank you so much for all of your help! We ordered the top-loaded fries, mac and cheese, and one tender slider. All the food we got was just okay, but the mac was bland, so we weren't fans. Other than that, our experience was good.

I honestly hate to do this but … yea. Definitely not mine. I ordered takeout but the tables looked a little dingy too. I really wanted to like this place it was my third time giving it a try, but I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

I hate having to write this review because I actually love this restaurant, but last night I had gotten off work at 11 pm and arrived home to see there wasn’t any food to eat. I decided to order delivery here via uber eats because you’re very consistent and always fill me up when I need it. I had gotten the two slider combo with fries and my ordered arrived a little past midnight. I will say I ordered 1 minute before online orders stopped at this location (I’ve worked in food service for over 5 years so I’m aware how sucky that is) so I don’t know if the staff on board that night had a bone to pick with me for that or not. Regardless, I can’t control what time I get home and what time you guys close so I pulled the trigger on ordering very late. When my order arrived, I expected the usual high quality I get from you only to be disappointed that I was given two sliders that had two small “tenders” that were actually more breading than they were chicken. I don’t like calling foul play but seeing this much of a dip in quality under the circumstances definitely seems a bit targeted. Especially when my food looks like this. Had I pulled something like this back when I was in food service I’d be reprimanded I hope the same follows after this review. I hope to see the same quality I’m used to moving forward.

This is my first ever time trying Dave’s Hot Chicken and it did NOT disappoint. This establishment and service was beyond amazing. The food quality was the best part! I will definitely stop by again to try some more.

Daves Hot Chicken is amazing!!! The cashiers are awesome, very friendly, welcoming and friendly especially Monica and Beth. The atmosphere is vibrant and fun. The food is hot and fresh!!!!

A five star chicken spot. Almost unheard of in my book. This place was packed and the flow of customers was very consistent. As soon as someone got up from a table we grabbed it. Very clean, very vibrant space. Menu is simple, does not over complicate things. Sliders and tenders. Even a vegan option called Dave's Not Chicken which is a cauliflower sub. The heat ranges from none to sign a waiver if you want to try it.(!) I love the option that allows you to get a tender and a slider because why not? I did. I punked out a bit and got the mild flavor. Fair warning that mild is no heat at all. Not to me atleast. Next time I'll go for medium. My people tried Medium and said they could've done hot. So, we'll have to see another time. The fries though. Hold up! Whatever crack they sprinkled on those crinkle cut beauties need to be sold for profit. It was addicting and fresh. The daves sauce paired perfectly with them. The sandwiches and sliders were well and thoroughly seasoned. I could've have definitely gone spicier. The delicious Dill pickle cuts and the coleslaw cooled my already cool down. Honey packets and ketchup available upon demand. Regardless of the traffic, the order was done at an appropriate amount of time. Everyone I was with lamented on the portions, quality and presentation. All were a hit. Who doesn't love a Nashville style tender paired with great sauce, excellent pickles and a great slaw? I do! Customer service was pleasant despite the overwhelming influx of customers. I'm definitely going to come back. Worth every penny. Just an FYI though, those "sliders" are regular sandwich size. I only really needed one and the delicious fries. Well played Dave. Well played.

Honestly, I came into this establishment at 10 pm not expecting much because it was late and it is fast food. But I was so pleasantly surprised The wait wasn't that long and the cashier had a very great attitude. The fries and chicken were super crispy which I loved. It's more of a dry rub, rather than sauce on the chicken but it's a game changer if you put the honey on the sandwich!!!

TLDR: great food, great value. Eat the chicken tender/sliders with honey and Dave's sauce. New establishment in Kearny and it certainly did not disappoint. The staff were friendly and helpful, food was amazing and worth its price. A lot of seating in very busy environment. Looking at the menu, you would think it is pricy just for some chicken. But it's not. It's worth is value and the flavors you get to experience are priceless. Chicken tenders are HUGE, fries are nice and crisp, Dave's sauce is perfect and when paired together... heaven. Daves #3: 1 mild tender and 1 medium slider with a side of fries. As mentioned above, extremely flavorful, not too much kick but enough to remind you why its Dave's HOT chicken. Had a hard time finishing the combo due to how big the tenders were. Highly recommend pairing the tender with honey and Dave's sauce

After a long day of baseball, the kid wanted to go to Dave's Hot Chicken. We ordered there opposed to ordering online. Inside was very clean and well organized. Very wide open and plenty of seating inside if you wanted to eat in. We all got the chicken sandwich. My son and I got our chicken with medium sauce and my wife got mild. Medium had a slight kick. Nothing crazy. Chicken itself was tender and freshly made. I think there was just a little too much breading on it for me I also got an order of Mac and Cheese which I shared with my son and I got the kale slaw which was VERY GOOD. Mac and cheese was creamy and enough as a side dish for two people. To wash it down, we all got icees that came in collectible cups. I got the orange, the kid got blue raspberry and my wife got strawberry lemonade. At the end of the day, a VERY solid option to get away from the every day fast food options.

EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE. Dave's always has great customer service but the people at the Kearny location are great! I absolutely appreciate them and their friendliness. The establishment is clean. The food taste good and fresh

The service team is kind and outgoing the ambiance reminds me of my 80s and 90s graffiti fan phase but cleaner and brighter. Great for take out and there is sit in. I had single sandwich and cheese fries.. most importantly it's one of the few local halal places and I'm happy about it. Esp when I need comforting haha.

I'm a big raising fan, and this was a shot in the dark for me. But Dave's did not disappoint! The chicken is crisp, juicy and tasty. AND the sauce is AMAZING!!!!! Really enjoyed it! Might have found the gem of Kearny! Great service, the staff is so friendly and courteous. There's enough seating and you can bring the whole family! Loved it! Will be back soon.

I was very impressed by the Kearny location as I have been to the Wayne one in the past. This location was way less crowded, seemed cleaner (maybe from being less crowded), and plenty of parking. Monica took my order and was delightful. I hire employees as part of my job, and certain people are culture builders. She is an asset to this location and they should definitely track someone like her for a future leadership position. I was able to identify this in our 90 seconds of interaction. The food was as delicious as the Wayne location and based on the less crowded nature of the location, I plan to come here rather than Wayne.

Look... is it hot? I'd say it's mildly attractive. If it was on a scale from 1-me, it would fall at a good 5'8" guy that gives too many hugs. Is the chicken crispy? Yes. Is it greasy? Yes. Does it taste like anything? Not really. If this was $5 I'd say it's not bad, but I got a free slider, fries, and a small shake and it was $10. If the slider wasn't free it's $18. My friend got a slice of white bread with a chicken tender on top. Look... compared to other places, really not that amazing. Compared to college dining hall food? Still not that amazing. If you like the idea of food looking good then you will enjoy this place. The staff was friendly and nice though so I'm really just rating the chicken. Although let the chicken cluck once more and send it to Chick-fil-A instead. I hope Dave has nice friends

Cool spot, easy parking, friendly service & delicious chicken! Coke products, slushies and shakes!

Atmosphere was cool. Servers were awsome and quick. The chicken was juicy and tender and tasted amazing. I will be back
