Food is great, but I will say better than anything was definitely Jessicaa. She is amazing literally an icon. Absolutely brilliant deserves a serious raise. My beautiful husband and I came in and were instantly met with Jessicaa’s beautiful energy and kind soul. Very professional, very very personable, and the kind of person that makes this world worth living in and this company worth continuing to revisit. chicken perfection, but questionable wait time; got the single tender option, not too crisp, very juicy-tender with a lovely spring of flavour that plays nicely with the bread and serves as a solid base for the tangy-savory sauce. now the wait was way too long for such a simple order, and the place wasn't even busy? still, the chicken is good enough to come back for 😛

Okay... this place can be a bit pricey. But, and hear me out here, the food is well worth the price. Not just solely based off the taste of the offerings here, but because of the quantity of food you get. I.E. the pieces of chicken you get are larger than you would expect from a chicken place. I definitely feel like I'll frequent this place again soon, but this time I'll make sure to bring a decent appetite with me as this last time I ended up taking most of my plate home with me.

Dave's sliders are pretty good. Although the fries could've been a little hotter. I really enjoyed the mac & cheese along with the fruity pebbles milkshake.

Wow so disgusted and disappointed came here for the first time yesterday and I was excited to try the new mozzarella sticks. Bad idea. I got food poisoning my stomach hurts really bad and I’m in pain. To top it off the save packets are from February so they’re expired. Wouldn’t come back.

I had a great experience with Aisha. Her superior customer service is what would bring me back, not the food. The food was fresh and tasty, just not what I expected. The portion sizes with what you're paying just aren't enough for me. It was clean, and i loved the decor.

This review is well past due, as my family and I came to Dave’s Hot Chicken fairly often since we grocery shop across the street every week, we LOVE the food but best of all the customer service is always top notch. Everyone is pleasant, knowledgeable, and welcoming. I would like to give a HUGE shout out to Aisha M. She truly was super sweet to every person that walked in, she welcomed each person and asked if they have dined before. Her personality truly stood out!! I will forever come to the Dave’s at the Traffic circle.. Food is always fresh, always clean including the restrooms and every employee really love being here and you can tell! As an overnight worker who orders from uber eats late at night, I was thoroughly pleased with my order. Many places will just put bad quality food in your bag for uber eats orders ESPECIALLY close to closing. I ordered my food about 25 minutes before they closed and I have absolutely no complaints about the quality and taste of the food I received!! Everything was so fresh and tasty as if they had just opened up for the day. Good job to the staff that worked tonight. I'm so happy that I received good quality food so late at night lol so much that I had to leave a review. I've had Dave's hot before but today was so special for me lol I know I'm so dramatic but you won't understand unless you work swing shift and often get burnt food or poorly packed etc. for delivery orders. Good job team

I went to a Lorde concert the other day, and as I was leaving and the street vendors were trying to sell me hot dogs, all I could think about was Dave's. So of course my friend and I found one on the way home and luckily it was open late and not crowded! It was a perfect setting for a late night snack and concert debrief. My only complaint was that this location doesn't have their cauliflower options. I'm not a vegetarian but sometimes I like to get those if I'm feeling something lighter. I ended up getting the two tender combo with medium spice and replaced the fries with mac and cheese. The medium spice is honestly not very spicy, but I feel like the next level up is too much for me at 1am in the morning. I love Dave's seasoning on their chicken because it is really flavorful! The mac and cheese was cheesy and creamy and also balanced out the spices well. It was the perfect way to end the night!

Dave's comes in behind Cluck n Blaze and Jaybird's for me. I got it in medium, which wasn't hot at all (usually much hotter at other places), so it ended up tasting like a plain chicken sandwich. Service was horrible too. They hadn't seen my online order by the time I arrived. It took a minute for the server and manager to figure it out. Once they did, neither turned around to acknowledge the mistake and extra wait. They pressed a few buttons and then went about their business. Maybe it was a bad day. I'll try again and order it a little spicier, and update this review.

It was good, not great. The environment is super fun and upbeat! My daughter loved all the fun colors and random chickens. The employee at the register was really nice and helpful! She helped us navigate the menu and gave recommendations. We ordered some sliders, fries, and Mac n cheese. Nothing was a wow for us. Like I said, good not great. Would we go back? Maybe if we were hungry and near a location.

Food is delicious.. the wait time can be a bit excessive. But overall worth the wait. They stay open late so if you're looking for something to eat in the area this is a good spot! The ambiance is typical fast food vibes . But I enjoy it. I wouldn't recommend their drinks.. 3/3 times I got their drinks... they were flat.

Super clean location, all the staff is friendly and welcoming even on packed nights they are pretty quick with getting your food out.

Both times I've been here, so far the food has been consistent! I appreciate that the menu is straightforward and simple; I've tried the mild and medium and neither were too spicy to handle (which is great because I enjoy hot but can't take too much, shh). My server the first time was named Jessica and was awesome - she explained the menu clearly and recommended trying the one tender and one slider box to see what I like. Service the second time around was more of a miss because I couldn't hear half of what the associate - didn't catch his name - was saying. The meal also took a while to prepare, but it was tasty so I won't be too salty about it! Dave's seems to be a popular hangout spot for students from Cal State Long Beach. They're open till 2am (although I couldn't tell you if it's busy then, haha). There isn't a drive-thru at this particular Dave's. In terms of accessibility, watch your step since there's a small stair in front of the door. The restaurant is located in the corner of the strip mall with a Cava, Nothing Bundt Cakes, and In-N-Out, which means parking can get a little hectic if you're there at mealtime. When you come, just be mindful that the aisles go one way!

Reaper is legit heat! Chicken was super tender and fries extra crispy and double delicious!! Guy at counter was very friendly and attentive. Food came quickly with no skimping on sauce, pickles, etc. bathrooms about as clean as any restaurant I've been to in idk how long. Easy 5 star. I am very pleasantly surprised with this 2am find. Love it!!

I went to Dave's Hot Chicken for the Free Slider deal!! I got the Single Slider with medium spice level. I have gotten a Single Slider with mild spice level, and I thought it didn't taste spicy at all. The medium spice level gives a little kick, but I think next time I'll go for a heavier spice level. Cheese is extra so I chose not to add cheese to my Single Slider. I do recommend trying the Dave's Sauce. The restaurant was really clean despite the amount of people walking in and out, sitting down, and standing in line. There's tons of seating, and there's two kiosks near the register that you can order from. The employees were all kind despite the busyness from the Free Slider deal on October 24 for Drake's birthday. Alicia H. took my order at the register, and she was super sweet! She also had me scan a QR code that took me to the Dave's Hot Chicken Google page to make a review. Jessica gave me my order, along with Dave's Sauce. She was very energetic and kind! The service was also super fast! I would come here again when it's not during a big deal because I am intrigued on how spicy the chicken can really get!

I came to this Dave's Hot Chicken location on accident and had such a good experience that I had to leave a review. Nicole helped me out at the counter and her customer service was on point!! super friendly, patient, and made sure I got exactly what I wanted. You can tell she genuinely cares about her job, which you don't always see in fast casual spots. Between the food being fire and the staff making you feel welcome, this location is definitely worth coming back to.

The chicken is very good and the service is good with lots of parking in the lot. I ordered hot and it was very hot. It is quite pricey though - $15 for 2 pieces of chicken and fries!

Dave's hot chicken has become my fiancé and I's new obsession! I've been getting the slider meal with the hot spice level and the seasoning is so delicious! And partnered with the sauce it's too good! My fiancé, who is not a fan of spice, gets the same just no spice and he loves it just the same! I really like this location too, good parking/plaza, spacious eating area with a good amount of seating, & the customer service was very good too! my only complaint is I wish there were more locations & some closer to where I stay!! Every time I get food here it's always been good. Those who don't like spicy-- don't let this stop you from eating here cos you can get "no spicy". I like that it's also open late til I think 2am!!! That's a big plus!

We've been wanting to try this for a while. The restaurant is very clean and the customer service was great. I got the chicken strips which come with fries, 2 pcs white bread and the special sauce. Adding honey to the sauce is really good. The seasoning reminds me of a dry rub sauce. Wasn't what I was expecting texture wise but it wasn't bad. The chicken was very tender which I enjoyed and made it easier to eat.

Ok, yes, I just left another eatery. However, when I saw a DJ playing music and that Dave's Hot Chicken was open, I had to park and get out to observe this new chicken spot. Several employees were enthusiastically announcing the grand opening and distributing Dave's Hot Chicken stickers. I genuinely enjoyed the lively atmosphere and the crowd. Parking is not problematic here. There were 2 kiosks that were available. However, I chose to order at the register. I wanted to ask the employee for recommendations. She mentioned that the heat of my chicken is what varied, so I ordered #4 mild light hold the slaw added mac n cheese, not fries. The chicken was a mild hot, and the mac n cheese was a tad spicy but delicious. The spice was not that spicey, so next time, I'm climbing the ladder and going up in spice.

I ordered Dave's #3 that comes with a slider and a tender. I ate inside but my food didn't taste as fresh as I expected. I also received the wrong spice level. It was probably a sign that I need to cut back on spicy foods so I didn't ask for my correct order. This location has two kiosk machines but you cannot apply any discount codes (you must order online or at the register). The cashier was friendly and the inside of this location was clean.

I'm a regular customer here and the employee named Nichole is always so welcoming and helpful! My face lights up when I see her working the front! She stands out from other employees and makes sure to ask if I'd like cheese/pickles/kale slaw with my sliders. They're not for me, but I'm sure other customers would appreciate the gesture. Sometimes I even forget they exist, so it's always good to make sure.

First time here. The staff were very nice. We got a combo and when we received our food I could smell it was delicious! And guess what?! It was delicious! Thank you for the crunchy and juicy chicken sandwich! The fries were crispy golden and ! I can't wait to come back!

6/5/25 Alisha was my server for today she was really friendly, sweet, kind & super helpful when i had called to place an order for our lunch because i was on the way to have lunch with my daughter at Bixby Elementary. despite Dave's Hot Chicken mobile app/website was effectively not working properly i don't know why! my 2nd time ordering from Dave's i could say i'm hooked the food is super delicious! after today i'm trying to add in my barcode # from my receipt for points still having difficulty

Amanda was such a great customer service rep for this company, I tried to tip her but the machine wouldn't take it. She told me it was ok and that she just wanted to put a smile on our faces. She offered great recommendations

I was visiting Long Beach, and this spot had been on my radar for some time. But while I LOVE spicy fried chicken, I admit I was coming in with major bias. That's because I live in Nashville most of the year and spend the rest of my time in Los Angeles. In Nashville, we invented hot chicken in the '80s. And since the hot chicken craze exploded around 2010, there is no limit to the number of imposters out there trying to replicate Nashville hot chicken only to fail miserably. To defend our most famous dish, I was ready to rip Dave's apart and explain to my fellow Angelenos what real hot chicken should taste like. And then I took a bite of my first Dave's chicken tender, medium-spiced, and my mind was immediately changed. It's authentic. It's complex. It probably wouldn't make the top five best hot chicken joints in Nashville, but it would probably land solidly in the top ten. And that's a HUGE compliment! The Armenian superfecta who founded this chain must have sampled the real deal in Nashville, because their product is exceptionally reminiscent of what I eat frequently in Tennessee. Well done, boys! The only letdown is that every chicken joint in the South will offer bone-in chicken breasts, and Dave's is a chicken-tender-only place. But I can respect that game plan. It works. And the fries aren't bad either. Note: Other Dave's in Greater Los Angeles have higher ratings. So what's happening here? Pay careful attention to the negative reviews bringing down the average. It's the first thing I check when scouting out a restaurant on Yelp, the reasoning behind any one-star rants. If lack of quality is fueling the public's rage, that's a red flag. But you'll notice all the low ratings are related to Internet issues, pricing, or customer service, deceiving at best. With glowing reviews for the actual food, a sub-three-star average didn't discourage me from this location. And my instincts were correct.

Honey mixed with Dave's sauce makes an excellent dipping sauce for the huge sized tenders, or pour the honey mixed with Dave's sauce over the sliders for an unexpected sweet & spicey treat.

First timer. Big shutout to Hayle who was an absolute delight, walked me through my first DHC experience with style & grace. Everything was solid! I ordered the #4 slider spice level was hot and the tender spice level medium. Hot is the way to go, didn't taste much with medium--ordered extra pickles because yes. One thing---what's up with the sauce it doesn't really taste like much? I still ate it anyway. Wait time wasn't crazy, this location is quite busy, I will say the music was great but I felt it was just way too loud, I ended up eating on the patio. Overall 4 stars for the food 5 stars for the service! No photos to show because y'all already know what the food looks like here.

Sooo me and my man love to eat here daily but we were not thrilled on how our food came out today. There was not enough seasoning on my bites and the bun my man got was small. When he asked if they can redo them with more seasoning they burnt the bites and gave him small chicken pieces for his bun. We are not happy about this!!!

The customer service is always great in Lakewood....very nice and helpful employees. My daughter really likes just the chicken. $5.00 for a chicken tender sounds like a lot, but they are usually big enough. When you get smaller tenders, then the place is way overpriced. My problem is with the side. I'm sure lots of people are fine with the selection, but does anyone really like the mac and cheese??? It's like KFC, and that's pretty awful. Whoever in the company decided that this was good enough quality to sell to people made a very bad decision.

This location is way better than the one they had on 2nd St! This is way faster, cleaner, and better service. I appreciated the worker as they greeted us once we walked in and took our order right away. There were not a lot of people and our order came so fast! He even got us extra sauce and gave us honey when we asked. Food was hot and fresh, fries were crispy, pickles were crunchy and great flavor, bread was soft. There's a lot of seats inside and was very cool and refreshing to be inside. I would definitely be coming back to this location for their fast service.

I had the pleasure of working with Alisha today. She was extremely helpful, courteous and full of energy. The restaurant design is beautiful. And the food was good. I got the chicken bites, and a slider with Mac n cheese. Food was hot (warm), and hot (spicy) just how I ordered it. I'll definitely be coming back. Great job

Decided to finally try the new hot chicken spot. We heard the sandwiches were small (they are) so I opted for the slider plus 1 tender combo. I got it in mild - it's definitely mild you are safe with that if you don't like spice at all. Go hot or higher if you like spice. We thought we wouldn't get full but it was actually a decent amount of food. The service was great even though it was really busy. We sat in the outside area where it was nice and fresh. We'll probably be back because of the convenient location.

This isn't about the restaurant or food. The food is always great at Dave's. This is was more about the older cashier lady customer service today. I had ordered my food through the mobile app. Never an issue before. As I got there the cashier politely greeted me and I asked how she was doing as well. All good then I proceed to tell her know that I had a mobile order. She had some difficulties checking my order even when I gave her my full name and showed her my phone to see my order number. She then proceed to try and locate the order behind her. Eventually another worker inform her that my order was on the rack all ready. She then grab my order and toss it on the table for me to grab and tells me to have a good day. My main issue wasn't that she couldn't find my order, but it was tone on how she reacted and tossing my order on the table rather then just placing it there for me to grab. I wasn't even expecting for her to apologize for not finding my order, but the nonchalant tossing my order on the table really bother me. Any how I thanked her for my order and left. No issues before on the customer service. Dave's had always been great, but I still don't like my order being toss on the table that's all. I was polite the whole time and greatly respect the people that work in the food industry, but please don't toss my food around and be a little more aware on how your tone is with customers. I know she probably didn't realize what she was doing, but most other customers probably would have checked her in her place at that moment. I've been to several Dave's Hot Chicken and let me tell you, a business will have more customers if businesses had more employees like Aisha (sorry if I misspelled her name ). This wonderful employee not only was super friendly, she checked on the dine-in customers more than a waiter would in a restaurant. If there wasn't someone at the counter, she checked up on others to make sure they were good or picked up if necessary. This lady was amazing. So nice. Needless to say the food was great. When I'm back in town, I'm coming back! Kuddos to the rest of the employees who were friendly as well. Parking sucks, deal with it. Walk.

Food was great, I tried a spicy chicken tender just to familiarize myself with spice. I didn't find it too spicy, granted I did have to use that Dave's sauce to cool things down. However - if you like spicy food I would order a medium and up! Service was quick and efficient, the server asks to get you sauce and condiments at the end when they hand off the food to you. Food is pricey everywhere nowadays but I feel like if you're out with friends, or want to take someone to a spot Dave's is a chill and lax place to go to. If they had better deals or were a bit cheaper I think college/students would come more frequently

I was assisted by Marquez, and I can't say enough good things about his customer service! From the moment I walked in, he greeted me with a warm smile and a genuinely friendly attitude. He was super attentive, patient, and went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. What stood out the most was his professionalism and willingness to help--he truly made me feel valued as a customer. Let's call it what it is...a cheap, imitation of Howlin Ray's without the quality, taste, or experience. Everything on the menu lacks flavor. Chicken was tasteless. The hot was medium at best. Stay away

Dave's Hot Chicken was born in LA in 2017, and quickly became wildly popular. They now have over 100 locations nationwide. When this location opened on 2nd Street in Long Beach, I thought meh, another place I have no interest in (I don't eat meat). Then, I saw a mukbang star on TikTok devouring Dave's' newest creation: a vegetarian cauliflower "chicken", and everything changed. In the interest of trying all of the new cauliflower items, I ordered a combo with a Dave's NOT Chicken! Cauli Tender, and Cauli Slider, with Cheese Fries, of course. The plate was $20 and a generous portion, served with pickles and a creamy chipotle sauce. I love that you can adjust the heat level in each item; I definitely tasted the difference between the "medium" and "hot". I preferred the slider to the tender, which came served on a slice of white bread, but they were both delicious. The breading was crunchy and savory, and the cauliflower juicy. I love that they use crinkle fries, but the cheese on top was thin and flavorless. It was so watery that the fries absorbed it. Still, I am so happy about Dave's NOT Chicken, and will definitely come back.

My son has been wanting to eat there since it opened... and since they came out with cauliflower version tenders we decided to go ahead and make a stop. My son ordered 3 chicken tender mild and we ordered 6 cauliflower tender hot. The flavors were good but for some reason as soon as we got home my husband got sick and sometime later my son did too... and when I woke up I also had gotten sick... I was sitting there thinking what could have been the issue bcuz we got something different than our son and the common denominator were the Dave's sauce and pickles... so idk what's going on but it's weird that 3 of us got sick; luckily my daughter didn't get sick; she only had fries...

This location is new, so I wanted to try it out. As soon as I walked up to the door I was greeted. The staff here are sooo kind and accommodating. The customer service here is top tier. The food was also amazing! I can't wait to go back! Aisha who took my order was the absolute sweetest!

Tried the Dave's NOT chicken slider/tender made with the cauliflower patty. I was a fan of the flavor and overall texture of the cauliflower patty. I personally am not vegan or veggie but It's always nice to have meat alternatives that are actually satisfying. Spice level: medium and hot were good, with hot being just right.
