The West Hollywood Takeout & Delivery Guide

"Over the last few years, hot chicken has become so popular in Los Angeles that it’s hard to sort the great from the good. Dave’s is one of the greats. The new-ish location on Fairfax has both takeout and delivery, and stays open until midnight on the weekends." - brant cox

Dave's Hot Chicken Review - Fairfax - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"There was a time (2017, to be exact) when we would’ve emphatically told you Dave’s was making some of the best hot chicken in LA. But that was a long time ago—our night serum regiment is much stricter now and Dave’s Hot Chicken is no longer a destination. That’s partly because this chain with East Hollywood roots can now be found in over 21 states, but also because the quality of food here has nose-dived faster than a Cessna in the Bermuda Triangle. If you’re completely hammered walking down Fairfax at 1am, their slider combo will probably hit the spot. Otherwise, this dry, poorly built sandwich can be skipped." - Brant Cox

Hands down it’s the best friend chicken for fast food chain. The new loaded friends and strips with cheese is really good as well. The food is always fresh and Yumm. Easy and great price for quality food

Ordered Dave’s Hot for the first time through GrubHub for delivery last night. Mom mentioned they offer Cauliflower “chik’n” options for all the veggies out there! We HAD to try. I’ve been vegetarian my whole life and the CauliSlider is LEGIT! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 The breading 10/10, spices 10/10, kale slaw 10/10, Dave’s sauce 10/10 and the fries 10/10! Mom loveddddd her CauliBites with fries and loved that they included a piece of bread like they do for the chicken! Excellent recipe development for the vegetarian menu, great chefs and team! 💎 Cheers to more success for Dave’s Hot Chicken! If you haven’t been or tried… do it NOW! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Google
Visiting the original Dave’s Hot Chicken location was a memorable experience. The chicken sliders were crazy good — juicy, packed with flavor, and cooked perfectly. Easily the best chicken I’ve had from a fast food chain. Worth stopping for.

Bomb. Ordered the #1 mild. I’m eating it right now as you read this. If you’re hungry you should be jealous. Super chill in here too. We’re kicking back. Drive safe. See you soon.

Juicy moist succulent chicken with Dave's hot 🔥 spice blend. Great taste... Good service decent seating. Don't forget Dave's signature sauce to complete the experience.

My wife has been pestering me about DHC for a while now, we ended up going on a Monday evening and there was no line. The menu is super simple with sliders, tenders, fries — all packing decent punch with bold Nashville flavors. They offer a variety of spiciness levels and we decided to go with mild (it was hot for me, YMMV!). The food came out hot and sizzling about 3-5 minutes after we ordered. Overall, pretty decent hot chicken, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it - LA is sort of a Mecca for hot chicken right now. Food: good Atmosphere: extra-casual, clean Service: good

The staff is genuinely kind and friendly, just amazing attention, really fast service and very good food, the place is clean and good prices for big portions. First time at this restaurant but I will definitely be back.

Google
The spicy chicken is hot enough. I love this level of spicy, the spicy flavor is just into the chicken inside. The environment seems not very clean. The trash can is very full. However, the vibe is cool because played very nice and hot songs.

Yelp
Dave's Hot Chicken is a great choice for a crisp fried chicken sandwich! I ordered the #3 - comes with 1 chicken slider, 1 tender and fries. I decided on the Medium spice and was a bit disappointed as there was no real spice level. I feel like Dave's is known for a kick in spice and unfortunately I didn't receive. BUT, tenders were juicy and seasoned well. I absolutely loved the crinkle fries. I ordered slaw and pickles on the side as i was taking them for the road and didn't want the bread to get soggy. Everything was still pretty fresh when i finally dug in. Service by Larry and David was 10/10, they definitely added to my experience.

Yelp
Walking down Fairfax this place is lit up like a Christmas tree. You can't miss it. Got little buzz. Decided to try some of Dave's hot chicken one night and it did not disappoint. I got the hot tenders and they were amazing service was immediate. There's nobody in front of me, maybe it was nine and they close at 10. Bread and pickles is included and some of Dave sauce. I had a really good sandwich late night and then I paid for it The next day.I'll go back. Dave's chicken is good.

Yelp
Do not eat this hot hot chicken unless you want to feel sick for two days. Or do, if that's your thing.

Yelp
They made me wait for over 20 mins when the restaurant was dead empty to get a single slider. I mean what's going on in here??? Yall don't care anymore? Yall just make people wait coz yall are bored ? The restaurant was empty ‍. This is BS on crack. No wonder yall are loosing market share

Yelp
I don't mind having it here and there, it's good food and one of those quick stop kind of spots. The staff are chill and friendly, i the outdoor seating is a cool spot to hang out.

Yelp
This is my local location. I've never dined in because the corner where they're at is ridiculous traffic wise, both car and people. I always opt for a 2 people meal. Everything is always still perfectly hot temp wise by the time it gets to my place. Speaking of hot, their spice level is it. You can't go wrong. They stay consistent. I've yet to be disappointed with any item I've tried. Thanks for always being the perfect solution to my munchies attacks

Yelp
I can finally check this place off my list! I'm only subtracting one star because I ordered cheese fries and they gave me regular fries :( But besides that this place really exceeded my expectations. The food was GREAT and I will definitely be coming back. I opted for mild and it wasn't hot at all. Their "Dave's sauce" is basically thousand island sauce (or so I'm told) and it really compliments their food. I had the tenders (pictured below) and my boyfriend has the sliders. We were both happy campers. Check it out!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite go to's when looking for a chicken/hot chicken sandwich! Fries are always on point and the sauce is one to not miss out on! Get you a Dr. Pepper to wash this meal down with and you will never be disappointed! They even have an app too where you can get points for orders and get free food and tbh one of the best points systems ever! I always get the #3 that has 1 tender, 1 sandwich and fries and DO NOT FORGET the cheese, for some reason cheese is a game changer compared to not adding some. As soon as they opened the spot on Fairfax I had to go try the reaper and I killed that and a hot sandwich at the same time. Boy was I dying for a bit but so worth it! Service always is so fast and so are to-go orders! Ambiance is chill and everyone seems happy to work there! Dave's is always a 10/10 for me and I still haven't found a spot that's slapped as hard so they got me always comin back for more!

Yelp
I have had Dave's Hot Chicken a few times and they have stayed consistently good. There are different levels of heat to choose from. I tend to order medium and hot and the heat is pretty tolerable. I add the special sauce and hot honey to balance out the spices. (Interesting to note that if you order the Reaper on their website, you would have to sign a disclaimer. My coworker who is NEVER phased by spicy food said it has a nice kick to it. That is a compliment! She never finds anything spicy enough. The slider and chicken strip is my default order and it's a good amount of food. Fries are crinkle-shaped and they are perfectly crispy. The bun is soft and melts in your mouth but can hold up to keeping the slider together. Parking can be a bit of a challenge on that street. The one time I came by for lunch, I managed to find one behind the building on their small lot. There is a window in the side of the building for pick up and it makes it easy. You don't have to go in the building for your order. Since I have always ordered ahead, I don't know how the service is. I do know that i managed to get my order in a timely manner, the food is hot and crispy, and there are no mistakes. Overall, this is a consistently good fast food restaurant that serves unforgettable Nashville hot chicken. It has all the spices, all the flavor, perfect texture on the outside with a good amount of batter, while staying moist in the inside. Pick-up, take-out and delivery suggested as there is limited parking and seating.

Yelp
Man the hype is real me and my girlfriend were in LA this past weekend for my birthday and Dave's Hot Chicken doesn't disappoint. We did the lite mild which is no spicy but thang still spicy a little not too hot though. I can see why Drake Co-Owns it the platter also comes with curly fries which is super fire. We put the honey and Dave special sauce on the chicken sandwich so good 10/10

Yelp
Accessibility: small parking lot behind the building, but what I did not like about this is that not only is the parking lot for customers, it's also for ANYONE who wants to pay 20 bucks for all day parking, to walk around LA and not worry about their car. So ultimately, the Dave's Hot Chicken parking lot is being filled up by non-Dave's people who just pay to park there. The restaurant is hustling people, making extra money, and creating no space for their actual customers to park for free in their parking lot. Gross. But besides this, it is flat ground from the parking lot onto the sidewalk, then into the building. There are only a few small tables inside, and most of their seating outside. The chairs are movable with wheelchair accessible tables. Experience: the food was good, and nice employees. I do wish they had more inside seating.

Yelp
I submitted an order at 10:30 didn't receive my order till 11:10 and by the time it arrived my food already felt cold and top of that I had also added a drink so when I went to my lunch break to eat.. my food is cold and I didn't get my drink because of a staff forgot to give it to the Uber driver this is absolutely ridiculous I work in fast food and I always look at the orders before handing em away, so the customers/drivers get everything on their orders I understand you guys get busy but come on be better

Yelp
I've been to this Dave's twice now an both times it was because it was open late and I needed something to eat after having had a drink or two nearby. Both times I've gotten the #2 combo because I just wanted some sliders and gotten it 'hot.' I think previous time I tried DHC at another location the heat level eventually grew to be too much a few hours later. I don't know if it's the insulating/numbing power of alcohol or maybe they've toned down the heat but I've found the Dave's here to be not so turbulent on my system. If/when I go in the daytime maybe I'll change my mind but so long as it's my go-to late night spot then I'll think pretty highly of it.
google avatar

Moises R.

Yelp
Got a piece of chicken that was completely burnt and nasty. I had literally place the first order of the day it should not have been hard to make a decent meal. Plus when I looked in the bag the extra sauce I asked, for it was not in side. Honestly I go to the Koreatown ones all the time never have this problem.
google avatar

Yelp
Every time I come here, I wait so long for my food. What do they be doing here?? Every single time I deal with rude Customer Service what is up with this place management you need to do something
google avatar

Khloë G.

Yelp
I am consistently given the wrong food by this location. Today I ordered a 10 pc nugget and was given one tender. Disappointing! In the past they have given me cheese fries with no cheese. I'm sick of ordering food and not being given it. They need to pay more attention to what's being ordered. Beside that, my chicken was rubbery. Could not chew it in some areas. It was disgusting. I'm done coming to Dave's. This has been a frustrating restaurant to eat at.
google avatar

Kathy X.

Yelp
So pleasantly surprised by the food here! The chicken is super tender and PACKED with flavor. The mild spice had more flavor than the medium spice for me, but I recommend mixing and matching spice levels to try more flavors. This place reminds me of a better Raisin Canes
google avatar

Yelp
I have to say that I didn't have high expectations for this place and truly only ordered here because I convinced myself it was better than ordering from McDonalds or any other fast food joint. But oh my! How surprised I was by how amazing the chicken slider and fries were! Since I door dashed to my job I can only comment on the food. Food: 9/10 The slider was packed with flavor and was definitely generous in its size (in my opinion because I can't eat as much food as others before getting full). The bread flattened out quick but it didn't ruin the chicken slider at all for me. The fries were seasoned and fried to perfection. It's a plus that the 20oz sodas are fairly priced as well. The only reason I gave a 9 is because I feel they could be more generous with the slaw on the slider. It was maybe a 1/4-1/3 the amount that you see on the picture of the slider. They also gave me two whole ketchup packs.. Overall, I'm definitely ordering from here again!
google avatar

Karen T.

Yelp
I ordered the slider. It comes on a bun that reminds me of a Hawaiian Roll, super soft. I chose "hot" for my spice level and I enjoyed it. I could feel the spice but it wasn't too hot for me. My boyfriend ordered "extra hot" and while he ate it all, he said he would order the "hot" next time. There is a small amount of slaw, sauce and few pickles on the slider. It comes with fries that are seasoned and tasty. There are about 3 tables inside and more outside. If you're looking for a quick spicy chicken sandwich or slider, check out Dave's!
google avatar

Collin R.

Yelp
Consistently great fried chicken sandwiches! I usually order the sandwich with medium heat and fries. The slaw balances out the heat a bit so if you want a little extra kick, go for the "hot". The dipping sauce is also amazing with the fries but I also dip the sandwich in for some extra flavor. My go-to hot chicken spot in LA!

Yelp
I'd give 3 and a half of I can. But 4 is fair. I had a really good experience at other Dave's locations. Like most chain restaurants, location can play a roll. I was working late in the area. So I came here. Btw, thanks Dave, for being an open late kind of place. So I ordered the #2. But it was very basic. Very, very basic. I wasn't "Wow'd" like I have been before. Tenders are a decent size. Price is fair. My slider was dry. Bland bread and their slaw wasn't as saucy and crunchy as I remembered. Seasoning is perfect. So kudos on that. Fries were proper. And the extra slices of pickles help. But I doubt I'll be back to Dave's. It'll be a while. So many other great options. However it didn't disappoint. Thanks for the great food. Keep it up.

Yelp
Like all places in this area, it can be tough to find parking if you're coming for dinner. If you come before 6, there is free neighborhood parking. If you come later, a meter along Fairfax is your best bet. We came in on a Friday night around 7pm and it wasn't too crowded. There was a sign that said if you check in on Yelp you can get a free drink or milkshake so we went all out and got milkshakes and the Dave's #2 that comes with 2 "sliders" and fries. These sliders are full on chicken sandwiches so I'm so glad we shared! You can pick the heat level on each individual sandwich, I got mild which wasn't spicy at all so I think next time I'd go up one level. It was a heavy meal but a good value if you share! Next time I might just try some tenders.
google avatar

Allen P.

Yelp
Ate here for lunch Tuesday and the ambience was great, clean and the restrooms were super clean. I had to minus one star because I ordered "HOT" slider and it tasted like I got a crispy chicken with no spice at all. My last experience was in Glendale Dave's and their "Hot" was truly hot(great experience). I felt like I'm getting different spicy experiences from each Daves's franchises. Michelle was awesome to add dry "Hot" but the experience was a confusing one. I don't know how to gauge Dave's hot anymore and maybe I'll just buy the sauce on my own from know on.
google avatar

Armen A.

Yelp
Man, I was excited to try this place and it was just above average, at best. I'm a huge fan of Nashville style hot chicken sandwiches. I've had more than I can count. I have to admit I was a little skeptical coming to Dave's because chains don't really ever get it done. I was generally correct. Let's get two things out of the way. The service was great, the place was clean, and the price was decent, I went to the location off Fairfax in LA and it generally was inviting experience. Now to the food. I'll start backwards. (Ordered #3: 1 tender, 1 slider, fries). The fries were crispy and seasoned well. The pickle was tasty. The bread was average, not bad just average. The sauce actually was really good. And finally the chicken was tender. But the main show is always going to be the heat on the chicken and the seasonings and dredge that they use. The texture of the chicken was good and the heat was okay but the flavor was generally bland and the part that really threw me off (And why it's getting three stars) was the gritty texture of the seasoning. I've only tasted that a few times with these types of sandwiches and it just seemed to take away from the experience. It was like hot powder was added after and I could feel it on the roof of my mouth. Not sure how to explain this but I would have preferred the seasoning be part of the dredge and not an afterthought. Overall it was good, just not great. The reason I don't need to have it again isn't because there was anything wrong with the food or service but there's got to be better options in LA. I also want a bigger sandwich, not a slider. If you read this, please drop me a comment on a different joint to try.
google avatar

Abhishek G.

Yelp
I really like Daves because of how juicy the chicken is but i chose the slider this time and I was kinda taken back on how raw the whole bread feels. It could be more toasted or toasted to order because otherwise it just kills the whole flavor of chicken. Great service and patio seating with a chill ambiance .
google avatar

Aagdolla G.

Yelp
I like this place, I eat the mild spicy version because the spicy spicy one you going to die. Its hot and will have you crying for water. Food is good but one thing I don't like is that the shake it super thick so i cant even pull it up the straw. Shake probably get lighter after you eat to pull up straw is not cool. Love the art on the wall outside shop.
google avatar

Elise M.

Yelp
First time having Dave's. I ordered through Yelp so it was ready by the time I got there. They messed up my order which I noticed after leaving (I ordered a tender and a slider, but got two sliders). The two slider combo was more expensive than what I ordered so I didn't feel the need to go back and correct it lol. But overall really good I'd go again! I got a side of mac instead of fries and it was alright on its own, so I added the mac into the sliders. I also got extra sauce which i recommend doing. My brother said he used to go to Dave's all the time a few years ago and quality of food has gone down. But I don't know that past Dave's. So for a first timer I'd give it a solid 4 stars! Definitely recommend.
google avatar

Kimberly H.

Yelp
As a person who enjoys eating at Dave's Hot chicken this location is decent. They have a really cool interior, but the staff are meh. I came in with my cousin and we both ordered our food right after each other, so I was very confused as to why her order took longer to come out when we ordered the same thing. This wasn't just for her order, but seemed to be the case for other customers as well. Hence, why I took off a star because it make's absolutely no sense and was a bit annoying. On the bright side, a good perk about coming here, is that if you check in with Yelp you get a free fountain drink or milkshake. Yum!
google avatar

Yelp
HOT CHICKEN HAVEN I try to avoid fast food, but Dave's Hot Chicken was offering a free chicken slider if you downloaded their app. Since I had heard a lot about this place, I was curious to try it. The Fairfax location was hopping when I arrived. As I was ordering at their counter, I noticed that they also offered a free milkshake if you checked in on Yelp. Being a YEE, you know I couldn't resist. You can choose your spice level, so I went with "hot." While I was waiting for them to freshly cook my slider, I read the encouraging story about how Dave's Chicken began. It wasn't long before my food was ready. People watching is great here, so I grabbed a seat at one of their outdoor tables to enjoy my meal. OMG! My slider was spicy enough on the outside to heat up my lips. The crispy coating kept the chicken inside tender and delicious. The pickles and slaw that came with it added even more flavor. Good thing I ordered a rich chocolate shake to cool down my mouth! Yum! No wonder this place was so busy on a late Sunday afternoon. Dave's Hot Chicken is hot!

Yelp
I wish I could give this place 3.5 stars but I am feeling generous today so I gave them the 4 instead of 3. Food was good. Where they lost points was how long it took and the parking situation. We went there after 7pm (7:11 to be exact) I know this because they only allow you to park in the lot for 45 minutes or they charge you. I get it. They don't want people hanging there all night... it's a small joint. So, we headed inside to order our food thinking we had ample time (we're both fast eaters). We were wrong! It took us 30 minutes for our buzzer to go off (it was 35 minutes in total but there were two other people ordering ahead of us). I used to work in fast casual restaurants, that's a long time.... And here's the thing: I'll wait for good food. This all would've been totally fine had we been able to eat our food leisurely and gotten back to our car without the stress of watching the minutes tick by. However, we had to scarf what we could down (we had to take half our meal to-go) and the parking lot attendant tried to give us a hard time and tell us we had to pay next time we went over the 45 minutes (which, by the way, we made sure we did not - we specifically made a note to him what time we arrived and were back to our car with ONE minute to spare). They also buzzed our number when only half our order was done so it was just sitting there on the counter, but we asked them if we could have it to start eating while we waited for the other half, and they gave it to us. Like I said, food was good - chicken was juicy, had a nice crispy batter, the sauce was tasty, fries were decent, mac & cheese was okay. All in all, I probably wouldn't come back (at least to this location).

Yelp
I have been wanting to try Daves Hot Chicken for quite some time. I have friends and family who have visited from out of town and have always raves about it. I had spent the day in the area at the museum and was very excited to see there was a Daves a mile away. Had to go! This locations parking is a little iffy on the street. I believe there is also parking behind the shop, but I didn't see this until after I left. My friend and I got the 2 sliders and fries combo to share and Mac & cheese. I got the hot, and she got mild. Each slider comes with one tender, and the chicken is so juicy (love that it's halal btw). I will say though, the hot was not "hot" like I expected. I think next time I could opt in for one level up (maybe reaper, who knows o_O). I enjoyed the sandwich and the fries are seasoned really well. Their house sauce is yummy too. Mac & cheese was a little too runny for for my taste. Overall it was a good experience :)

Yelp
Tried the chicken sandwich and I'd have to say, it was pretty good. the chicken was crispy and the spice had a good kick. It was a good amount of food for lunch to satisfy my craving. If you check in, you can also get a free shake, what a win. Parking was a little tough, had to circle around a few times to get some decent parking. EHHHHH, i almost gave up, but it worked out. Service was cool and the workers cleaned the outdoor patio often to make sure others had a place to sit. They even have a trash smasher so others can place items inside without it getting to packed quickly. KUDOSSS TO YALL FOR THAT.

Yelp
Since moving out here, I started to hear more about Dave's. On my trip to my parents in San Diego, I found that one had opened in my neighborhood, so I decided to give it a try upon returning to LA. I ordered online via their website and found that they had a brisk pick up time. It was ready in under 10 minutes. I ventured out to their WeHo location and found they have a tiny parking lot, enough to fit several cars. If you're dining there, you have to pay for parking, but if you're just picking up, the parking attendant will let you park free. I ordered the combo for 1 tender & 1 slider with fries. The fries were... meh... decent with the condiments? The slider would definitely be the highlight of my meal. I like the crisp texture on the chicken and you're getting a delicious bun. They were also thoughtful enough to include a slice of bread and pickles for the tender incase you wanted something closer to a sandwich. I would say the food here is decent enough to warrant a return to get your chicken sandwich fix if you so demand.

Yelp
Loved Dave's Hot Chicken! The portions are huge especially in LA and that sauce is amazing. I honestly think between the 4 of us we could have split 2-3 meals but overall great. Service was quick and easy, they even have a (small) parking lot in the back! It's free for 45 minutes and then $5 after that. The restaurant is very clean with plenty of seating and clean bathrooms as well!

Yelp
What happened to this place, where it has gone so far downhill? Two years ago this was one of my favorites. I doubt I'll go back now. It is always under-staffed. Long wait times on everything, and delivery drivers load them up with giant orders. They need to hire more kitchen workers. But worst of all, the food quality has severely decreased. I always order the Dave's #2, extra hot. The last two times, it was barely a mild tingle. Clearly not using the same recipe. The chicken was dry and overcooked too. Really a shame that they refuse to spend the money to keep this place good, because it used to be awesome. Not anymore.

Yelp
Go-To hot chicken in Los Angeles! Absolutely delicious and fresh upon delivery. Well worth the wait on busy days. Keep in mind hot is HOT!

Meena N.

Yelp
It's okay. Run of the mill hot chicken place, 3/5 stars, their fries are yummy though. They give you a free drink if you CHECK IN to yelp, but when I was there, to show them I CHECKED IN, the girl clicked on my phone to give them a 5 star review. I don't play that game. In what world do they deserve 5 stars? Also, the sign said check in, and buying 5 stars isn't allowed. Not only that, she wanted me to pay for the drink I ordered, so I would buy one, and get another one free, which isn't what I want. So now this establishment gets 2/5 stars, for having 3/5 food and -1 star for deceitfulness.
google avatar

Yelp
The hype is real! The hot chicken was on point! People at the front taking the order were cool and fast with taking our order. If you haven't had it, give it a go and ask for extra sauce!

Yelp
I'd always been curious about Dave's. I hadn't been to fairfax in months so I had no idea they had even opened here. Once I saw Dave's on that corner building, I had to give them a try. The food quality is great and their service is good too. I'll be returning to try more. FOOD 1 slider 1 tender combo - The slider is the size of a normal sandwich. I expected a small slider but it's a decent sized sandwich. The chicken was moist and still had a nice crunch. The tender was similar to the chicken in the sandwich. I prefer the sandwich to the tender. The fries were cooked right. As for the spice level, I ordered medium level. The medium is somewhere between mild and a "normal medium". SERVICE Friendly, good service. The food is made to order so don't expect fast food. It's a reasonable wait time though. PARKING I hate parking around Fairfax. There's limited street parking (meter), a few paid lots, and residential (free but check signs. Likely 2 blocks away)

Yelp
A fascinating story of how Dave's Hot Chicken all started. They started as a parking lot pop-up restaurant in Hollywood with a portable fryer and picnic tables. From a humbling beginning, it becomes this multi-store franchisable restaurant in Southern California and beyond. The menu is simple, chicken tenders (tendies) or sliders. There are no sandwiches as indicated on the Yelp menu. Maybe some reviewers had it mixed up with the slider option. What I ordered: CHICKEN SLIDER (mild) - Initially, I thought the price was steep for the size. After taking a bite, I was surprised by how plump and juicy the sandwich was. The spice wasn't too bad for a MILD. It had a slight kick but tolerable. The biggest letdowns to the slider were that the pickles were too thin, and the size of the chicken patty was round and small. There was too much space around the bun. STRAWBERRY SHAKE - Judging by the taste and coloration of the milkshake, I'm pretty sure that they're using Nesquik strawberry powder. The taste was sweet and sugary but I wasn't overwhelmed.

Yelp
We stopped by Dave's for free sliders in honor of Drake's birthday. I'm not the best with spice and found the mild to be perfectly seasoned and not spicy at all. I probably could have upped the spice a bit. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are filling. There was plenty of outdoor seating, and the food was ready quickly. They have a separate pickup window for food delivery services, so that doesn't interfere with the folks who are ordering in person.

Yelp
Excellent chicken sliders and fries! Limited menu makes ordering easy. This place is branded really well and deserves the hype it gets. Dave's hot chicken is like if in-n-out had a young, energetic marketing team and also served hot chicken sliders. Long lines during peak hours but I came here at 10:45 pm on a Monday, and service was very quick! I got a single slider ($5.45) and a milkshake (plus some stolen fries here and there), and that was enough to fill me up. I got lite mild heat level because I'm lame, but I really enjoyed how the heat felt inconspicuous and warm instead of the more lingering feeling that my friends experienced with their medium heat level. Seasoning is on point. Adding a honey packet took my experience to the next level. Fries were tasty and crispy. Some were soggy tho. The milkshakes (I tried chocolate and vanilla) tasted EXACTLY like in-n-out milkshakes. **free milkshake or soda with Yelp check-in** Really good late night food. I will be back!

Yelp
Bangin milkshakes! The people working are the best and the chicken is really good even if you don't like it hot.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved Dave's! Their seasoning on the chicken is perfect: not too salty and just the right seasoning (not bland or overly done). The chicken, both the tender and the slider, were so moist and juicy. And the medium heat is just the right kick for me. The aioli Neutralizes the heat if you need, and is a welcome addition.... the fries are perfectly crispy too and also seasoned with what seems like the same seasoning as the chicken. Def coming back! They also are observing covid social distancing guidelines and you have to wait outside after you've ordered.

Yelp
Dave's hot chicken is great but I wouldn't eat here often just because the only options are fried chicken with the amazing crispy coat and I like to watch what I eat most of the time but if you checkin you get a free milkshake which is really nice to sip on while you wait for your order. I give this place 5 stars because they understood the assignment with the chicken and fries! Very tasty!

Yelp
Not down to put in the effort for Howlin' Ray's? Dave's Hot Chicken is a much more convenient and v solid contender for the hot chicken throne*. I got the tender + slider (false advertising in the best way possible -- it is absolutely a full sandwich and it's stuffed with pickles and slaw) and fries combo. The chicken was juicy and had a really nice and bold flavor that was a little sweet. Spice-wise it's MUCH milder than Howlin'. For reference my tolerance is decent and I like medium there so I tried it at Dave's; however, I found that their medium is like a mild or even country (no spice). The fries are good but not much else to say about them. Overall, great takeout experience and you can easily kill time waiting by checking out some of the streetwear stores nearby! *I will say overall I still prefer Howlin', but if in a time crunch I would for sure get Dave's again!

Yelp
Been awhile since I've eaten at this joint. I ordered the usual Sliders with Fries which came with 2 sliders served with kale slaw, Dave's sauce, pickles and a side of fries. This was so tasty considering I was in the mood for it all day, but didn't have the time to relax with such an amazing meal due to work. Next, I had the mac and cheese because it stands as one of the best side dishes ever. What was interesting about this side was that it gave a slight kick, which kept me coming back for more. I eventually made the decision to save it for one of the following day's meals to have it as something to look forward to. Of course, I then had Sprite to wash it all down. In my opinion, this or ginger ale are the best types of beverages to drink after something as tasty as what I had this day! I'd recommend this place to anyone!

Yelp
Good chicken! Love the spice levels and the tender&slider combo! I usually substitute fries for Mac & cheese! This location is a little difficult to park at. They have a small parking lot out back that doesn't have enough parking and street parking is tough in the area.
