Dave's Hot Chicken

This Nashville Hot Chicken is so good you might just eat too much! Some friends brought us take out from Dave's when we were simultaneously dealing with different health issues and stuck at home. What an absolute treat! I had the #3 Combo, mild heat level. My wife got the #1 Combo, medium heat level. Mild was good for me, similar to a hotter buffalo wing spice. My wife said that she would try hot next time as medium was not a "make you sweat" level of heat. Dave's has excellent juicy chicken tenders covered in crunchy cragely fried batter that is cravably seasoned. We got plenty of fries with each combo. The pickles and slaw were awesome. We loved the food so much that we finished our combos in one sitting. I felt full like after a big holiday dinner. (Notice in my photos that I made a chicken tender taco out of the included bread slice, a tender, extra pickles, slaw, and Dave's sauce. Menu Hack? I think so!) Look out Howlin' Ray's, Dave's might just have your number especially when it comes to the quality to availability ratio. So, if you are craving Nashville Hot Chicken tenders, do yourself a favor and give this place a try soon! Update: We had Dave's again and I discovered a mistake in my review. Our first order was mislabeled. My mild order the first time was actually medium spice level. Medium is buffalo wing spice and mild is no heat at all. I apologize if my review caused anyone to be disappointed in ordering the wrong heat level for their taste. Also, my wife really liked the hot spice level in our second order.

Worst experience, first time trying Dave’s hot chicken, it was more expensive than the online prices by 6-7$$ I ordered to go, once I got home my family spit it out. It was cauliflower ! Not chicken! I’ve called multiple times but they never pick picked up now I have to drive back waste gas and get something else to eat!

I love Dave's Hot Chicken But... this one at Kitchen United Mix.. ain't it .. You can tell you guys are very serious about portions! Not worth the price!! Considering all the competition for Hot Chicken. Don't come here unless you want to pay a lot of a small portion. Also Mac & Cheese was so watery. Almost like a Mac & Cheese Soup.

This chain has fantastic Nashville Hot Chicken combos. I ordered The Dave's #3: 1 Tender & 1 Slider w/ Fries and it was fantastic and convenient to pickup. The server who handed me my food was very polite and there is plenty of free parking outside along Green Street.

Do yourself a favor and order Dave’s Hot Chicken from an actual flagship store and not this ghost kitchen. Usually Dave’s Hot Chicken never misses but this location still had RAW FLOUR left in the cauliflower bites. Never again from this location

Do not go here! This place is a glitch. I never got a receipt, did not receive reward points, payed $17 for what other locations charge $12.99, also the amount of coleslaw on my slider was a joke. Guy said there was utensils included, there was not. Was very uncomfortable to eat “inside” as the 2 small tables were dirty and the ambiance is akin to a serial killer’s basement. Decided better to eat in my car, had to go back to get silverware and was given a flimsy spork. Left feedback on tellusdirect but no acknowledgment.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. I feel sick to my stomach. I got the 1 tender 1 slider through door dash and the chicken was so soft and gooey. I dont want to say it was raw, but it definitely was not cooked fully. I was STARVING and took 1 bite from the slider and threw it out immediately! I cut open the tender to see how that was cooked and it looked the same! Ive had daves at other locations and never experienced this issue!!!!

Small portions compared to other locations. The one in Hollywood gives you like 5x the amount of fries. Chicken seemed smaller as well but maybe that's just because the amount of fries was so tiny. Food came out fast but was lukewarm, not really sure how that's possible. Won't be coming back to this location.

Ordered the two sliders which came with fries and pickles and a side of tender. For the sliders I got the level hot and for the tender I decided to kick it up a notch and go with extra hot. The extra hot level was perfect for me. The next time I order the sliders I'll have to get it at this level but overall the food was fantastic! The chicken was crispy but tender and very flavorful. It's too bad that they only have tenders or sliders, I would have loved to try chicken wings or thighs from them but it is what it is. That being said you can't go wrong with either the tender or the sliders here. I believe they open almost every day until about 9:00 p.m. for most of the kitchens and until 8:30 p.m. for the Halal kitchen. Inside they have about four total tables kind of spaced out throughout the restaurant and it seats about a total of eight people inside. But the best thing about it is they have takeout until 1:00 a.m. and since I ordered during after hours, I had to place my order online and then stop by to pick it up. They'll give you a pick up time with your receipt and when you arrive, they have a call box to the right of the restaurant which gives you all the different codes for the specific restaurant. Once called in and confirmed, they will bring your order down to you which can take several minutes but nothing too bad. I truly love how convenient it is to order and pick up here so if you're having your late night Fried Chicken craving, this is the place! I'm really happy I found this place but bummed that it took so long lol. But so glad to now have an alternative to Howling Ray's... Winner all around!!

Could have been better. Small portions and chicken wasn't fried very well. Not necessarily as good as Dave's normally is

This is the WORST Dave's Hot Chicken location, unfortunately. I've been here twice now and hoping the second time would be better, gave it a chance, but no. The portions here are VERY SMALL. AND I MEAN VERY CHEAP. and the fries were stale. They literally put a teaspoon of coleslaw in the slider. See pictures for proof. Chicken also small. With all these negative feedback you'd think the team here would consider them and take necessary steps into ensuring issues are addressed.

Tried Dave's again after a few months. Ordered from doordash and was pleasantly surprised when I got my food. Thick piece of chicken was very crispy and juicy and well seasoned. Fries were cooked nicely too. Presentation looked a lot better than last time. My boyfriend said his chicken sandwhich and chicken tender was really good and he saved me the bigger piece. P.S I'd like to add that I paid for this meal with my own money. I realize that there was a reply to my previous review from the store but my updated review is based on my personal non-biased experience today. Great lunch

Order on their website for the lowest price, not on the kitchen mx site. No lines, quick pickup at this location. Brought it back home quickly. Ordered hot, xtra hot, reaper. Medium was too weak last time. Hot is as hot as eating chicken tenders covered in flamin hot cheetos powder. Spicy but bearable. Xtra hot is a step up. Good flavor. The sweet brown sugar comes through the spice. Needed to take a 3 min breather halfway. Spicy and burning but I can do it again Reaper is no joke. It is ok the first 3 seconds. Then you swallow and it hits. The 2nd bite builds and burns hotter. I had to take a 15 min break after that. My eyes were teary. Sweaty forehead. Burning tongue. Slight regret running across my mind. The pain fades and I get back in to finish it. Hot and extra hot are flavorful spice. Reaper is a different type of pepper with no flavor except burning. You dont taste chicken, you taste fire Some tips: if you go all in on the reaper, take a big bite at first and quickly chew and swallow. You can put down a big chunk before the pain hits that way. Easier than taking 2 small bites. The portion sizes here is smaller than another daves hot chicken i went to. Not an issue if you are coming for the reaper. Its actually a smaller piece to eat and less suffering. If you are actually here for the food, then order a little more food than you might expect.

If you don't like this chicken, then you are the problem. Super fire flavor, understandable why they are expanding!

I've been going to Dave's since it was just a food stall on Hollywood Blvd. Mind you, I regularly usually eat at the Glendale location or Hollywood location, and even recently visited the Las Vegas location to try the new cauliflower sliders and have never had an issue and have only ever had positive feedback. My postmate delivery guy was awesome and on time. But that was about the only positive thing about today's order. I ordered at this location via postmates, and it was single handedly my worst experience with food quality. We ordered 2 cauliflower slider fry combos, 2 extra cauliflower sliders, and were given free 6 pc chicken tender bites for surpassing an order over $20 (and all were medium heat). All items, since all were medium heat, were ALL OVER SALTED. Like as if they poured a whole container of salt in the spice mix. So inedible, my family was not able to eat past 1 slider! It left a disgusting taste and textured in our mouths. It was absolutely disappointing and disheartening because we had no other back up food options since we've been moving and have none of our kitchen stuff ready. I reached out to postmates customer service and said that my order was ineligible for a refund because it was not them at fault and they would reach out to the Dave's Hot chicken Pasadena location at Kitchen Mix to ensure that this didn't happen again, but never resolved my issue. I then continued to reach out to the store directly, and gives an automated response that the kitchen is unavailable due to a busy kitchen. Which is understandable on a Saturday night. However, I'm sure I wasn't the only customer complaining about over salted items, and they can't get any feedback because they don't answer their phone lines!! All in all, my family and I are completely water bloated from trying to rid of the salt mounds that were used to season the sliders, unable to get a refund for the $50 we paid for the useless items we were not able to enjoy or eat, and are not impressed by either postmates customer service or this location's customer service.

I've been to a few Dave's locations and I think this one has the smallest portions. It all tasted the same which the consistency is great but the portion seemed smaller. Ordered the tender and slider combo, the hot isn't that hot compared to other hot chicken places but the flavors are great. Would recommend if you are getting delivery but go to a different location if you are willing to pick up.

Heed the other reviews. I didn't know this was part of "Mix" til I got there. This is to say there's nowhere to sit and eat, or get a water, etc. Ordering there costs more, and the portions are noticeably smaller, so you get hit twice. Look at how small this slider is Never coming back to this location.

Excellent and fast service. Loved my meal. I've been hearing about it and finally decided to try. So so good! Recommending to all my friends.

Tried Dave's Hot Chicken for the first time today, was excited but the chicken was sweet, I was expecting salty and savory, that's not what this is, just a heads up to people expecting fried chicken with spice, it can be spicy but it's not salty or savory, it's sweet and doesn't taste like fried chicken. Fries were great, but not worth the $16 that I paid.

My kiddos have been talking about Dave's Hot Chicken for while. Finally had the change to stop by. Best chicken in town. Now we want to go every Friday. Chef's kiss

Food was decent but service gave off a bit of a "will spit in your food if they don't like you" vibe.

yeah this is not a real Dave's Hot Chicken it's like a pop up kitchen with food from several different restaurants in one. there's no service you order at a screen by yourself. then it they are slow to bring you your food I I was the only in there and waited over 20min. its also more expensive than a regular Dave's Hot Chicken. this place is to be avoided

First time ordering from Daves Hot chicken at kitchen mix Pasadena , food was good , same as other location The only cons things just they have it kitchen mix which is no table seating , last time when to the other location at Rosemead which is pretty nice area with seating .. But food quality pretty solid

I was surprised to find a Dave's hot chicken at a ghost kitchen! The employees are so nice and helpful and the food is amazing. I always get the sliders with mac and cheese, it hits the spot!

I saw the line at Howlin Ray's out to street and did not want to stand in 93-degree heat. It was easy to put in a takeout order at Dave's (after I pulled over). I got the twin sliders with medium hot tenders. Love this place. I really like the store in Glendale when I tried Dave's for first time about a year ago. Chicken is tasty and spice level perfect. Really like the pickle chips cause they cut into the spice of the chicken. And the potato bun was soft- perfect sandwich. I admit the standing at the United Kitchen """office" is weird and the order took a little longer than expected. But it hit the spot for a hungry hombre. I'd go to Dave's Hot Chicken again. I was very satisfied.

Placed an order online at 10:15am and went to pick up at 10:35am and the store is closed. Online said this place open at 10am and accepted the order and payment. The store has a sign said they open at 11:00am. Called and went to voicemail. We had to go back at 11am and the store is open and the lady told us that we have to go through the secret door on the side to pick up before 11am. How do we know??? Now the chicken is cold. Cold fried chicken on soggy bread and cold French Fries. Not sure if we know about the secret door and pick up the order 30 minutes ago, it may taste better.

Last time I'll be here. Don't be fooled by their "business manager" leaving those complaint links, nobody looks at those because none of the problems anyone has been talking about has been fixed. I came again a few days ago and the food took 25 minutes to come out and was already lukewarm when I got it. During that time NO other orders came out from Dave's. I know because I was standing outside the entire time. Portions are tiny compared to other locations. Not sure what happened between the first time I came and now but I won't be back and you shouldn't go either. Oh and I left a review on the link they sent and there was no response whatsoever.

Ordered thru grubhub, paid marked up prices plus service fee which I was fine with, but it seems smaller AND I ordered extra spicy which is one level shy of Reaper, and it was not spicy at all. Also mac & cheese was bland

Im so happy Daves opened up near me as i would drive to their original location or glendale before. Portion is great spice level is great, however yesterday the chickens were pretty salty. I tried to eat however much i could due to the salt. I would recommend daves hot chicken again and again, but sometimes its a hit or a miss due to the saltiness. Also, this locations pickup was super quick so i loved that. They are not in their own restaurant space, its within a space that has multiple food restaurants. Pretty cool.

I love Dave's hot chicken , it's my new favorite place to get a chicken sandwich for lunch. I love that I can choose hot spicy or mild I would like my sandwich. It's nice to have these kinds of options. The Mac and cheese is creamy and enjoyable. The food is fast and good quality food. You have my business for life

Worst customer service ever !!!! Indian guy with no hair was rude very unnecessary attitude after i showed and told him that it was my order with my reciept made me feel super uncomfortable i was the only person in the spot and he still wouldn't give me my food i had to grab it from him after telling him multiple times i had purchased through online and kept showing my email receipt. i absolutely don't recommend his service !

first time trying dave's and i was pretty disappointed. i ordered Dave's #3 mild, and the chicken was pretty bland and not spicy at all (i thought it would have a bit of spice) and the fries were salty. the chicken was very juicy though!

I've been twice to this location for pick up and the timeliness/customer service is great! I got the two sliders with Fries at a lower heat level. So good! The portion size they give is really good! I love the fries

I love Dave's and I'm so happy there's one in Pasadena! This is a take out only location. Perfect for lunch in the busy Playhouse District.

Fast food we thought it was a dine in location. It was a one time visit. Sliders were on the small side according to my teenage son.

I don't care what any of these reviews say. I just tried this place for the first time last night and I was in freaking heaven. I got it delivered and it was a little cold and it was still the best chicken sandwich I ever had. I cant believe I barely found out it's halal this whole time. SMH. The food was so freaking good I would eat here every week but it's expensive lol. The sauce is bomb, they are organized, just amazing overall. I'm so happy I found out about this spot being halal and cant wait to eat it again.

From the start, I'll admit that this review isn't really fair to Dave's. I ordered food from them through the Kitchen United Mix site. I placed the order at 6:07 and the receipt from Dave's shows that. I'd also ordered from the Halal Guys and got that food without incident at around 6:20, which was a really amazing turnaround. Unfortunately, I received the food from Dave's at 7:57, after I'd already prepared other food to go along with the Halal Guys order so that we could eat at the same time. I contacted Kitchen United Mix but received no replies. I had no idea if or when I might get the Dave's order. Now that I have it, I don't know when it was prepared (is this 2 hours old as the receipt suggests?) and we've already eaten. So, acknowledging that this isn't an accurate review of Dave's food, which I haven't yet and might not eat, I have to caution anyone from trying to order from them via Kitchen United Mix. Maybe I'll pickup Dave's myself sometime to give them a fair shake. I was really looking forward to comparing them with Howlin' Rays (where I've never had problems with orders/pickup/delivery).

I've eaten here twice since they opened at kitchen United. My first experience was great. Excellent taste, portions were ample, food arrived quickly. My most recent experience was not as good, unfortunately. This time, the shake spice on the chicken was so salty it was virtually inedible. This is coming from someone who likes well seasoned food. Hope they can figure it out because Dave's is generally pretty tasty.

not a real dave's like apple maps said. wasted my time coming here. nowhere to sit, just a creepy room with screens and cameras. walking back to my car right now to drive to a real dave's. waste of time never coming back.

whole system is confusing, maps page says open at 10 am, but when we got there there was a sign on the door that said open at 11 am instead. you can't order there it has to be online but that is not stated on the page at all. don't go here

I couldn't believe how fast i received my order and the chicken was still nice and hot thanks daves chicken will be coming back again!!!!

Hours on google maps are wrong. Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Now I have a $56 ticket! This is the consequence of your false advertising!

Ordered Dave's Hot Chicken from here, and was terribly disappointed. The chicken was bland, flat, grey, dry, and lacking in flavor. I wouldn't even recommend this to anyone who wants to eat a quick bite. Just drive the 15 minutes to a real Dave's hot chicken location, they obviously don't care about the quality of food in these establishments.

This location is at this place Kitchen United known to loss orders all the time or give them out wrong I tried to order online from the kitchen page and still didn't get it right . I understand there a lot going on at this place but still having some energetic people to greet and explain things that would be nice over all the food ok if it wasn't for the kitchen space would have been a 4 star
