Dave's Hot Chicken

Let me start by saying I’m a HUGE fan of Dave’s Hot Chicken—I’ve been to the Vegas locations many times and always had a great experience. This was my first time visiting a Phoenix location, and I could definitely tell a difference. The customer service was just okay. The cashier wasn’t rude, but also didn’t seem very welcoming or friendly. The restaurant was very clean! As always, the chicken itself was delicious. I order the Hot level, and the flavor never disappoints. The chicken portion was generous, but the fries seemed smaller than what I’ve received at other locations. The chicken slider also felt a bit rushed, with barely any coleslaw and not put together as neatly as I’m used to. Overall, I still love Dave’s and will keep coming back for the flavor. I just wish this Phoenix spot kept up the same level of consistency and quality I’ve come to expect from the Vegas locations.

First time trying this place. Got the mild and medium sliders and they tasted the same. They do have an interesting taste not sure what it is the burnt flavor or the burnt spice flavor, not sure. The fries were good and the Dave’s sauce. I would try it again. Different spice levels. It was a long wait. About 15 mins. I guess not too bad.

Incredible flavor,Perfect Heat- Dave's Hot Chicken is a mist try in Goodyear! I went with the #4 kids, got the slider combo & 10 PC tenders bites. Chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. "Hot" had the perfect kick without going over board while keeping your taste buds locked in. Fries were crispy and well seasoned. 10/10 Will definitely be back!

UPDATE: Redemption Achieved Today I chose to give Daves another chance and I'm so glad I did. The cauliflower slider was everything I had hoped for. It was meaty with just the right bite and not soggy or drenched in oil like before. It was full of flavor, beautifully balanced, and perfectly crisp. Everyone deserves a second chance and Daves truly rose to the occasion. Great job! *************************************** I ordered Dave’s for me and my sister, she got the 2 chicken sliders with fries, and I ordered the Dave’s Not Chicken cauliflower slider for myself. She liked hers, but unfortunately, mine was terrible. The cauli slider was extremely oily, so much so that all I could taste was the oil. There was no real flavor, and the texture was off. I was really excited to try it, but it was such a letdown I couldn’t even finish it. It honestly didn’t feel edible, and I regret spending the money on it. Super disappointing experience.

Ordered the #2 which is 2 Sliders with fries. As you can see from the pics the chicken sticks way out from the small bun so you get to try chicken plain and then with the bun, pickles, slaw and sauce. Ordered Hot, which is definitely hot but not too hot, good flavor, chicken was moist and crunchy. Fries were good but not great. Sweet Tea was not homemade which is disappointing. Overall pretty good, recommend.

Dave's Hot Chicken is always good! This was my first time trying this location and I must say the location in Gilbert is better! I feel like the chicken was a tiny bit over cooked here. Also for some reason the hot flavor wasn't that spicy. That's what I usually get and it's usually pretty spicy. I would still eat here if I'm in the area. Also the young lady that took our order was very pleasant! I wish I would have gotten a name!

Cauliflower chicken is the best. 1st time going. Definitely a new favorite spot. Staff was extremely nice and patient with us while we placed order. Love love ❤️

Food is very tasty. The cheese, basic but makes the food so much better than it already is. Chicken nice and juicy. Fries fresh. Make sure to ask for a side of their sauce. Will be back again in the future.

Thank you Drake. Came here for a free slider on Drake's birthday. Came at 10am so there wasn't a line. By the time I left, a small crowd was starting to form. They have a smaller staff so I can't imagine what it would be like with a full line and crowd. I got the medium spice... it was not spicy at all. Didn't even numb my tongue. Chicken well cooked!

Medium heat wasn't very spicy. Gonna try hot next time. Very busy for a Sunday evening.

First timer! Yay! Holy moley this place is delicious! The sliders are really sandwiches so it's a lot of food - beware. I don't do spice so I got lite mild -- great favor and not spicy!! Win win!! The fries are seasoned (heavily) so beware with kiddos. The Mac and cheese was mushy and disappointing -- wouldn't order again. Will come back again -- the sliders were great!! Trendy and fun vibe inside also! Great decor! Staff was friendly!

We always get take out from Dave's and are always satisfied. Out of the hot chicken places I've tried in the valley, this one is my favorite hands down!! We always get the two sandwhiches with fries. I plan on getting the Mac n cheese in the future. Great service and it's good quality take out style too!

We stopped in for a quick dinner at the recommendation of my sister. She said she preferred it over Canes or Chik fil A. We went on a Wednesday night around 8pm and there was constant flow of people coming in. The staff were all very pleasant and the restaurant was clean. The concept is about the same as other chicken places, expect it's all versions of tenders and you can choose the level of spice in your chicken. I am not a partaker in spice at all and so it was a zero spice order for me. I did the single slider and it was definitely bigger than what think of as a slider. It came with the slaw and the sweet pickles and fries. I am usually picky about crinkle cut fries because sometimes they don't get cooked well enough in the middle but these were cooked perfectly. They also have a seasoning on them) reminds of Paradise Valley Burger Company fries). The chicken had a nice crisp to it. It was a good amount of food for the price. The thing I really enjoyed was the ice in the side fountain. I am always a huge fan of the soft pebble ice with some Dr Pepper. Would come back again.

First time visiting Dave's Hot Chicken, and it was fantastic! The food was amazing, bursting with flavor, and cooked to perfection. The service was exceptional, going above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Huge thanks to Deshaun to make that happen! He walked us through the menu with great recommendations! The restaurant and restrooms were spotless, adding to an overall great dining experience. Definitely recommend this place!

Alright. If you read my reviews you'll know I don't like chicken - but I LOVE hot chicken. Crazi hot was the go to spot but they closed down. A friend had tried Dave's and said it was a 10/10. Decided to give it a try. The restaurant is clean - plenty of sitting. I ordered the 1. Dave's hot bot (10 tenders) - half hot half extra hot 2. Order of cheese fries 3. Small chocolate shake 4. Mac and cheese 5. Slaw 6. Regular fries 7. Side of pickles I asked for ranch and they don't have ranch..just "Dave's sauce" so -2 points. The tenders were not at at all - which is why you don't need ranch the x-tra hot was a medium. We didn't think the quality of the chicken was that great - we ate 4 tenders and threw the rest in the trash. The Mac and cheese/slaw/ cheese fries all taste like it was bagged from restaurant depot. The sauce was also terrible. We did like the chocolate shake. RIP CRAZI HOT CHICKEN - YOU ARE MISSED.

I had an amazing experience at Dave's Hot Chicken, and Gavin was incredibly helpful in guiding me through the menu. The chicken was perfectly crispy and juicy, with just the right amount of spice. I opted for the "hot" level, and it was definitely a flavorful kick without being too much. Gavin made sure my order was exactly how I wanted it, and the service overall was quick and friendly

i've eaten here twice now and both times did not disappoint, first time i got medium spicy which wasn't spicy at all and second time i got the extra hot which was way too spicy it was hard to taste anything else on the slider and i couldn't finish it but i wanted to see if i could handle it so i wasn't upset, the customer service here has been lovely every time and the place is clean, the chicken is so crispy alongside the fries, the pickles are some of the best i've had and the mac n cheese is pretty good too, i wasn't too fond of the dave sauce, it just tastes like in n outs but a tad bit more tangy overall the food has been fresh and tasty and it's one of my favorite places to eat now, the prices are reasonable too, 12/10 recommend!

Taste is better than canes but fifteen dollars for this is not worth it. Maybe it was one bad order I don't know. Service was great though.

Dave's Hot Chicken only 23 miles from my house (instead of 50, the one in Gilbert)? Hallelujah! I love Dave's Hot Chicken. I think about it often, I crave it, I can taste it in my mind, I can't get enough! They just opened this one about 2 months ago in Phoenix. I decided to drive down there today to get some lunch. I got there, parked, walked in, and nobody was in line. Score! I placed my order for my usual....A #2, Hot, with upgraded cheese fries. Had some water to drink. Paid my money, took a seat, and waited for my food to come out. While I was sitting there, droves of people decided to come have lunch. The line went to about 15 deep at one point. They got everyone through pretty quick. My food came out pretty quick, within 5 minutes or so! How was it? Combo #2- My favorite! 2 sliders, and fries (upgraded to cheese fries). I love their buns, I love their sauce, I love their slaw, I love their pickles, I love their chicken tenders, I love the combo of flavors, I love the cheese sauce on the crinkle cut fries. It's a gosh darn perfect meal. I noticed at this location, the "hot" was much hotter than other Dave's I have been to (not complaining). Had to blow my nose quite a few times....this chicken was spicy, and I loved it! The tenders themselves seemed just a tad smaller than normal (still plenty filling and hung off past the bun a bit), but I didn't mind since it tasted so damn delicious and pretty much fit the bun perfectly. Service was friendly, and fast. Bathroom was a little bit unkempt (out of paper towels and running low on TP), but I've seen worse. I informed a worker about it and hopefully they took care of it. Happy to have this here! This is really close to where I work (when we were in the office), too! Hooray for Dave's in Phoenix. Make one in Surprise, please, please, pretty please! The food was really yummy! I got the hot chicken and it was the perfect spice.aPlus halal. Gavin was super nice and sweet.

I recently tried Dave's Hot Chicken, and it definitely lived up to the hype! The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. I loved the variety of spice levels--I'd recommend trying the medium if you're into a nice balance of heat without being overwhelming. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was casual and inviting, making it a great spot to grab a quick, delicious meal. Gavin Help us out when taking our order and even help us with menu with ordering!!

The place was packed but service was quick, especially for a new team running a new restaurant. I only got the Slider sandwich with medium heat. Nice size sandwich for $6. It had great flavor and the chicken wasn't overcooked and dry. I'll definitely be back for a lunch run at work. I did notice that they support the Diamondbacks and Suns but left out the Cardinals. Should dock one star for that.

Damn right delicious. I generally just order ahead and pick it up. I drive 20 minutes to pick it up in 20 minutes home so it's that damn good. I get mild usually.

I'm not the biggest fan of fast food but Dave's Hot Chicken is an exception. The food is always great and so is the service. The employees have always been friendly and helpful in my experience. They know their menu well and always answer any questions and made great suggestions. I've dined-in at this location and also ordered food to-go and I'm really impressed by how this restaurant is consistently clean.

Very unimpressed with both the chicken itself, and their use of fake heat for the supposed reaper sauce. It's the only chicken sandwich that my wife said she'd never eat again, and she loves fried chicken sandwiches. She said she'd rather have the one from McD. The coating is very dense, like dried mud, not the crispy/crunchy that you get from Cain's or KFC. She said it felt like a rock in her gut. I had no reaction like that, but definitely didn't like the texture. I tried the supposed "reaper" only to learn that it was not Carolina Reaper, just distilled capsaicin (pepper spray) with some garlic and paprika. Just junk, not good. It's a stupid "heat challenge" thing and not meant to be good food apparently. I love Carolina Reapers and love very hot things--the heat wasn't the issue. It was the pepper spray heat instead of actual real peppers with flavor. Their fries are fantastic, some of the best ever.

This chicken was tender and delicious!! The service was great and the sandwich was OK, we preferred the tenders! The restaurant seems like there's enough room for seating, however we took our food to go. I gave them 4 stars because we like hot food but the reaper flavor is just a gimmick, it's not actually something that's edible. To have to sign a form because of how hot it is, and your mouth burns for 30 min after trying it. Wouldn't recommend that high heat level, but the other levels were fine. The Dave's special sauce is pretty good too!

Tried the new Dave's bites and these were 10 for $6.99. I got the Mac and cheese this time and it was pretty good, nice and cheesy. The bires were medium, but wasn't spicy at all. Still nobody to grab your phone order though.

I ordered a slider and a tender (one hot, the other very hot). The chicken was crispy and had some spice to it. Other than that it was just basic. The fries were soggy and Dave's sauce tasted like a mixture of catsup and mayo. The service was good and the person who took my order was very nice and the restaurant was very clean.

Danue was friendly to us as soon as we entered! The food was delicious I swear they do something to this chicken lol so juicy and thick chicken my fav meal is Daves #3 has 1 slider and 1finger both of best word when we arrived it wasn't so busy but they definitely do get busy! Still they are pretty quick I'd like to say ‍ this location has no drive thru! Only dine in and have outside seating too. Overall the customer service was great thank you Danue!

The one and few consistently delicious hot chicken spots, hands down! I've been to both Dave's hot chicken locations here in Az and with this location being the closest, I can say the service is always great. The chicken is always moist and seasoned to perfection. Most places hit or miss on the fries but Dave's always gets them right by never being soggy or unseasoned. If you want great hot chicken for a fair price, definitely come to Dave's!

Juicy, crunchy, & hot with a little spice kick. I can see why the place gets packed real quick. Aside from the star of the show- The Tender, their fries are really good too! Can't forget about sauce! I can't wait to go back.

Did not expect to find myself wanting to try a place with chicken in the title as someone who doesn't even eat chicken! I also don't really like fake meat, but this place has a ton of cauliflower selections! I ordered online today and it was ready on time! Got Mac n cheese, cauliflower slider with fries. And kale slaw. The slider was amazing. For some reason I expected it to be really small but it wasn't. I got mild spice and I could've gone spicier! The fries are also perfectly spiced, though they were a touch soggy. The Mac n cheese was super creamy and also had a touch of spice, and kale slaw was deliciously crunchy! I loved the pickles with the slider too, and I can be picky about pickles. A little on the pricer side, but I got a lot of food! Will be coming back and bringing my husband!

Got food poisoning here tonight!! 40 minutes after eating and getting home my temperature spiked. I am currently in bed with severe chills, body aching, high fever, and having to run to the bathroom every 10 minutes. Was completely fine before the meal.. Also only had about two or three bites. My body must've know something wasn't right with it. Got the new 10 piece nuggets with mild flavor and side of fries. Most likely not practicing safe cooking in the back......

Due to its popularity, we had to stop and try this place. This was our first time trying the Dave's Hot Chicken chain. We arrived around noon on a Saturday and the line was out the door. Once inside, the atmosphere was vibrant with every wall covered in bright colored murals. It was cool. I liked that they had indoor and outdoor seating. This is a true chicken place. Your options are chicken tenders or a chicken slider. Then there's the spice options, which are... no spice, lite mild, mild, medium, hot, extra hot and reaper. The prices seem pretty standard to other chicken places except the fact that the combo's don't come with a drink. That makes no sense to me. So make sure you factor that into the prices. Okay so for the food... the chicken was good and the fries were nice and salty. I order the #3 one tender and slider combo, medium. They do give you a pretty big piece of chicken. I was full after eating the slider and took the tender home. The slider had very little slaw on it and even less sauce. As far as the spice (heat) factor.... my medium tasted like it should've been mild. It only had a slight kick to it. To be honest, I don't understand what all the hype it's. Was it bad, no, but was it the best chicken I've had, no. Would I go back, maybe, but not a place I would go out of my way for and not a place I would rant and rave about to all my friends.

Dave hot chicken is my guilty pleasure! Orlando was my cashier and man was he an upbeat, knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming. He told me a secret you need to do this or you are missing out. . . mix honey and Dave's sauce together. . .OMG . .. you can thank Orlando when you come in to Dave's . Awesome service and great fried chicken. They keep it really clean too.

Selfishly, I almost didn't want to write this review. Why? Because the more people who know how BOMB this place is, the longer the wait times will be for me to pick up my go-to order! No need to make the road trip to Los Angeles now that we have a Dave's of our very own! This spot does not disappoint (unless you don't like chicken!) Came here for the first time shortly after it opened, and we have been back several times since then! The staff are friendly, it's always kept very clean, and even with longer lines, the wait has never been too long. If you like HOT chicken, you gotta try this spot! They do have non-spicy, but truly, this is some of the hottest chicken and best quantity chicken I've had in Phoenix (or almost anywhere!)

I've never tried any of the hot chicken places so I didn't know what to expect. I ordered the number 3 - medium. Our food came out in about 10-15 mins. It was good. The flavor wasn't too hot and the fries were good too. The atmosphere is nice and casual with good music. I don't know if I'll be back but I'm glad I can say I tried it!

The food was great, not too crowded, and a GREAT choice of music. The food itself was lovely with a great kick. Some of the best fries I have had, along with a crispy chicken "slider." BIGGEST SLIDER I HAVE EVER SEEN. The workers were nice and had great service. The food took a little bit to come out, but it was worth the wait. I can see actual workers caring about their jobs. The side pickles were so unexpected yet so perfect. Would and am going to come again.

Dave's what has happened to you? I frequented this place in LA for years and they always had the best chicken. But these new stores popping up in Phoenix are not even close to the Cali branches. The chicken is notably smaller in size and very dry, spices don't match up the heat level, store is an absolute mess, garbage cans overflowing. This was not a one time occurrence either.

So I had heard of this spot over across town . Then I heard that today was the grand opening of the Phoenix location on Bell rd and 7th st . Came in right before the rush came in and thankfully I did it was packed within a few min . Super cool spot from decorating to the staff . Food had lots of taste and flavors. Well served portion wise . Looks just like the pics as well . Can't wait to come back !!! By the way the Reaper peppers heat level on point .

First time here at Dave's and they did not disappoint. They were busy but i didn't feel it because they were cranking out the orders! I got the Dave's #2 and got medium and hot to be safe and I'm glad I did because the hot is actually spicy. (You know how sometimes they say it's hot but it's actually not... here it actually is) Download the app and you get a free topped shake. Mine was strawberry with Oreo topper. (Think chocolate covered strawberry)

My initial visit here was fantastic, and I'm definitely coming back! Ki provided me with an excellent suggestion for the perfect Heat level for my sandwich. I also enjoyed the wonderful music playing in the background - I couldn't help but sing along to every song. I highly suggest this spot for its exceptional service and welcoming team.

Stopped in Phoenix for a quick lunch and have been wanting to try Dave's hot chicken for a while now, since we don't have it back home in GA. The spice was just right (hot) and it might have been one of the best chicken sandwiches we've ever had.

Food was as expected. They took a while to get it out and forgot part of my order when I received it. Womp

Very slow service... Maybe consider adding staff during peak hours. After waiting a while, was told 5-10 minutes more. And we kept on waiting more after 10 minutes.

Came in as a challenge for my daughter. Fair amount of customers, but orders were taken quickly. Wanted her to try the Reaper level, but that required us signing a waiver so we opted for the next level down (extra hot). We ordered two combos and it took 35 mins to get our order. Tenders were of typical fast food expectations, but the level of spice left my daughter's tongue numb for hours, which was funny. Fries were okay. Not a bad place, just didn't hit our taste buds the right way.

Pretty great food however the service wasn't the most welcoming or helpful. It was our first time and they had few answers to our questions other than pointing to the menu.

Daves Hot Chicken is always soo good to me. From hospitality down to the taste. The chicken is always crispy, yet juicy. The environment is welcoming and the employees are always quick to welcome you in and assist you with any questions regarding the food and menu. Whenever I'm in the area it is mandatory to stop here for some grub. I usually stay in the middle areas for spiciness just because it's more enjoyable for me. The breading is well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The aoli they provide, the extra sauce is so tasty I love it with my crispy crinkle cut fries! Today, Micheal helped me out at the cash register and even gave me a reason to get a free drink by putting in an honest review. I always love when people take pride in what they do and display that to their customers. Thank you all for the constant positive experience.

Fun spot with tasty chicken. The portions were generous on every entree option we ordered. My only complaint is that the "heat" levels vary wildy and they are not consistent. Low to Medium is actually a HUGE jump up, so be warned. We also had a service mix-up, so that my young daughter was given chicken strips in level Hot instead of the Mild we ordered. It may be a uncommon mistake, but they were very slow to give us the corrected order. By the time we got our replacement, everyone else at the table was finished eating. The place was not too crowded so not sure why the delay.

After some exhausting Christmas shopping in the adjacent mall, I stopped into the fairly new Dave's Chicken. Unsure of the heat (and the fact that I am a wimp) I ordered the 1spice level on the slider special. I hadn't expected hubby to arrive home before me so was prepared to share. Wow! I was surprised by what they called "sliders". They seemed more like full size and were a comfortable size to share. I could have gone hotter. Their fries were just as delicious. It's nice to have something new and delicious nearby.
