R&B Superstar Usher Opens Dave’s Hot Chicken in Georgia | Eater Atlanta

"Co-owned locally by R&B star Usher alongside founding franchisees Lawrence Kourie and Andrew Feghali, this Nashville-style hot chicken outpost began as a 2017 East Hollywood pop-up serving spicy chicken tenders on white bread and has grown into a chain of more than 100 locations offering tenders, bites, sliders, fries, and shakes. The first of nine planned Atlanta-area outlets opened at this Conyers address on August 29 with a DJ and complimentary food at the launch (the celebrity co-owner was touring and did not attend). After trying the food and meeting the founders, the musician decided to invest and help bring the concept to his hometown." - Erin Perkins

This was good, fast food. It didn’t take too long to receive our food and everything was hot. The service was amazing. Love the art work both inside and outside the restaurant was fun!

I stopped by on a Thursday afternoon around 3:30–4 PM. There were only 3–4 cars ahead of me in the drive-thru, but it still took about 30 minutes to get through. One thing I thought was a little odd was that the cashier held onto my card until I got my food, but maybe that’s just their process. The food was pretty good! I’ve had it once before when they first opened, and I remember it being a bit more flavorful back then. Still, the portions are super filling, so you definitely get your money’s worth.

Greeted with a smile at the front, and the food that followed did not disappoint! I got the “Hot,” which was two steps down from the hottest level. I didn’t find it to be too spicy at all. I’ll step it up a notch next time, because I’m definitely coming back! The two-tender meal was plenty of food for me, as these might be the biggest, juiciest tenders I’ve ever had. This is a wonderful place, with plenty of seating, to enjoy some hot chicken.

My kids were driving me crazy to try Dave’s hot chicken, I never had it before neither heard of it. But I believe social media hype was all over them. We drove 1 hour 20 mins to reach to nearest Dave’s Hot Chicken. The restaurant was very casual kind of place but the graffiti art on it was good. The vibe was not very family friendly. We ordered almost everything from menu in almost every available spice level. I got Extra Hot Chicken and it was really Extra Hot. Wifey got Hot and it was good and spicy too. Kids got mild and normal. Overall we really liked the food and the prices were not crazy as well. Overall, the food, location and ambiance was good enough for us to come back and would love to come back but don’t want to drive that long, hopefully they will open a branch near in north Georgia soon. Pros: ==== Good Food Very well spice level (as defined by names) Fair Prices Friendly staff Cons: ==== Very casual vibes. Food Ratings: =========== Extra Hot Chicken (Sandwich / Tender) : 8 / 10 Hot Chicken (Sandwich / Tender) : 8 / 10 Mild Chicken (Sandwich / Tender) : 7 / 10 Star Ratings: ========== Flavor: 8 / 10 - Star Authenticity of Flavor: 8 / 10 - Star Cleanliness: 7 / 10 - Star Service: 7 / 10 - Star Value for Money: 7 / 10 - Star I believe this format best justifies my review, so I will hopefully continue using it for all my future reviews.

My husband wanted to try this place for a while. 10/10 I do recommend! The service is great the restaurant is clean and the chicken is freshly made! I love the slaw and the pickles bring a much needed touch! Stop in! It was so good I got some minis for the kids to try!

Visited a couple of times since it’s about 1.5 hours from me. The first time we visited on a Saturday night. It was chaotic to say the least. Overcrowded, loud and just a hectic atmosphere. There was a hair on one of our sandwiches. The tables were not clean because it was so busy. The staff were barely keeping up. The food was so good that I decided to visit on a weekday. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We got one Reaper tender, and had to sign a waiver. It was nothing but heat, no flavor. We do not recommend at all. We spent $91 that visit. Did not take pictures of the food that time. Again, it was hectic & chaotic. We visited two weeks later on a Monday mid-day. The drive-through was so long. The restaurant was crowded, but not quite as chaotic or hectic as a Saturday night. The staff was mostly friendly this go round. Our food was delicious as always. The only thing I did not care for was the mac & cheese. I won’t get that again. But the chicken is phenomenal. I get the medium it’s the perfect heat for me. We’ve also gotten the extra hot, but those are way too spicy for me. Their sauce is decent, but the pickles are so good. You must try their kale coleslaw, so delicious. Perfect touch on their chicken sandwiches. I wish this place was closer to me and bigger. Like they know they are popular but they construct a tiny building! Needless to say, one of the best fried chicken places in GA in my humble opinion. Will definitely be back in the near future. They need more GA locations and soon.

Delicious food! The tenders were amazing and full of flavor. Fries were very good and the you must get the slaw and extra Dave’s sauce. Loved the mural outside as well. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will be back for sure.

The food was good, I enjoyed their Mac n Cheese more than anything. For two meals plus two Mac N Cheese we spent about $45.00. The ladies at the register were super kind and welcoming.
