San Francisco’s Original Joe’s Lands in Walnut Creek - Eater SF

"If you’re a fan of hot chicken sandwiches, particularly the popular, famously Drake-baked chain, Dave’s Hot Chicken, you’re in luck: the chain is adding another Bay Area location in San Jose and opens Friday, November 4, the Mercury News reports. The new location is 1085 East Brokaw Road, Suite 10, in San Jose. For those keeping track at home, this spot counts as the third Bay Area location of the Los Angeles-based chain." - Dianne de Guzman

4 out of 5 stars Solid sliders and fries — just a couple things missed the mark I ordered the two-slider combo with fries and added a side of mac & cheese. The sliders were definitely the highlight—big, juicy tenders with a crispy exterior, served on soft buns with pickles and Dave’s sauce. The chicken was cooked well and had great texture, but the seasoning wasn’t exactly my style. Still, I get why people are into it—bold and flavorful without being over-the-top spicy. The sauce tied everything together nicely. The fries were solid. They came out hot, crispy, and well-seasoned—not soggy like some spots, which I appreciated. They held up even after cooling down a bit. The coleslaw added a nice crunch and freshness to balance out the heat from the chicken. The only real letdown was the mac & cheese. It tasted almost like boxed mac—soft noodles with a basic cheese flavor that didn’t really stand out. Not terrible, but not on the same level as the rest of the plate. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. Good portion size, fast service, and the sliders hit. Just wish the mac had a little more effort behind it. I’d definitely come back, maybe try a different spice level or another side next time.

Tried out Dave’s Hot Chicken, and it definitely lives up to the hype-especially if you’re looking for halal Nashville-style fried chicken. We ordered the chicken tenders and Dave’s Bites, and both were absolutely on point. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and loaded with bold, flavorful seasoning that hits the sweet-heat-crunch trifecta. The signature Nashville spice was well balanced-sweet, spicy, and rich without being overwhelming. The sauce on the side added an extra layer of flavor and paired beautifully with the chicken, bringing out the best in the already well-seasoned meat. We genuinely enjoyed the food and the quality. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared, and the fact that it’s halal is a big bonus for those of us who often miss out on Southern-style fried chicken spots. That being said, after a second visit, we started to feel like the flavor profile, while delicious, was a bit repetitive. There’s currently not much variety in terms of seasoning options. It would be great to see Dave’s introduce more flavor variants that could really elevate the menu and keep repeat visits exciting. Overall, Dave’s Hot Chicken is a solid go-to for bold, crispy, halal fried chicken. If they expand the menu with a few new twists, they could easily go from great to exceptional. Still, highly recommended if you're in the mood for spicy comfort food done right.

Google
It was good, there is a lot spicy options for the chicken, I tried the medium one, was not too hot , so next time I'll try next level The staff was really nice, they help me to choose coz was the first time I try it.

Delicious chicken sliders and their cheese fries are really good. Consistent food at each Dave's location.

Google
I’ve been following Dave’s Hot Chicken on socials for a minute, and have been dying to try it. Now that I’m in an area where they have locations, I finally got my chance. The chicken sandwiches were really special. And the medium spice level was very manageable. I’ll probably go a little hotter next time. My only real complaint was that I wanted more of the sauce on the sandwiches, and the side cup they provided didn’t really make that easy. Although, that’s honestly a pretty small complaint. I’d very much recommend stopping by Dave’s if you’re in the area. Well worth it.

Not a good experience...ok, some backstory, this is a place I would not have gone to without the insistency of my daughter. Dad, "you'll really like it, I love it". Walked by many times and it always seemed like a novelty and gimmicky. OK, let's go (keep her happy, right?!). My crew has suggested going here often since none of us had any experience, and I was always able to persuade them to go to Chipotle for a bowl of fresh veggies, rice, meat, sour cream and cheese. This is MY experience, your mileage my vary...I had the #1, 2 chicken strips (mild) and fries. $14.99 for 2 strips that were deep fried and a small serving of fries. The Chicken Strips physically were ok, decent size (not for $14.99), ok, not juicy or dry but ok, but what strikes the most is they had a HEAVY Lays BBQ Potato Chip seasoning on them that was not dripping off, but close to. Ate my 2 strips to keep my daughter happy. The fries were deep fried and tossed with Lawry's Seasoning salt, no great shakes. They serve 2 things and 2 things only. Strips and Fries. Everything is deepfried and heavily seasoned, I sure hope they are profitable with low overhead to produce these 2 items. To say I was highly disappointed to pay $15 for 2 strips and a small handfull of fries is a grave understatement. If that's not enough, it's loud, VERY LOUD both verbally and visually (sealed concrete floors, neon wall murals), you can't carry on a conversation with your party, the walls are screaming visually which compounded an bad experience for me. This is just me, but I won't be coming back and strongly encourage you to think about coming here. If you like paying big $$$ for strips whether seperately or in a bun, it may work for you. My mouth is still dry and chalky choking down those strips. Caveat Emptor...

Google
Nice location but parking is difficult sometimes, friendly staff and clean spacious restaurant. There was a line but it moved quickly and food came out fresh and hot. They offer different levels of spiciness where the top level reaper requires you to sign a waiver. We tried extra hot, the rub is extremely salty covering the taste of spiciness fries also heavy on the salt. The dipping sauce tastes mayo heavy so I skipped on that. The chicken was good quality and portions pretty big for the price, and the bun is warm and soft. You are able to add cheese also of you like. The peice of white bread was another hard pass. Next visit will not get the extra hot not because its spicy just too thickly covered in salt. Overall a nice little chicken spot to try out!

Yelp
I'll start with the inside. The restaurant has colorful and bold wall art, giving it a fun and playful vibe. It was pretty clean inside as well You can order with a cashier or on the ipads. And there are single restrooms! I tried the #2 two sliders with fries but I added cheese to the fries (worth it). For the sliders, you can choose the spice level for each. For one I got mild, and the other spicy. I will say, there's NO in between spice level between the two, yet there's such a drastic difference between them. Mild had no spice flavor at all and but the spicy slider was pretty spicy-- and that's coming from someone who can handle some spice lol. So keep that in mind when ordering! The fries were crinkle cut, nicely salted, and were so good with the cheese. I'd come back to try something new!

Yelp
Picked up a hot box for a to-go order and it was hottt. Our order was a great value. 10 sandwiches. Everything came out great. The hottest one wasn't that hot though. Order was correct and the store looks really nice.

Yelp
A solid Dave's Hot location in the South Bay! We came for a late weekday dinner; food came out quickly, service was friendly. Though, we didn't realize that there were self-service kiosks when you walk in on the right side. I ordered Dave's #4 which comes with a slider and fries. Portion sizes are already pretty large to start with IMO; in the future, I'd probably do a Dave's #2 (which comes with 2 sliders and fries) and share it with another person! The mild is already at the perfect heat level for me. Pair your slider with some of their honey - it definitely makes it 100x better! Fries could be a lil crispier though.

Yelp
Chicken was juicy with a good solid breading. Flavor had a good amount of seasoning and had good taste. Dave's is pretty consistent with Angry Chickz chicken. Not really worth the hype and is not one of my top options for a chicken sand-which. Plenty of parking and self service kiosk. Really cool bright murals on the walls that were cool to look at while you ate.

Yelp
this is a really great spot to get sliders or tenders and fries, i love the seasoning on their chicken. i like to get it medium because anything above is too spicy for me, but the flavor is really good. my friends and i come here often because the food is really good and its best eaten right away. i think the service is fairly quick but it can get busy at times. the inside has lots of seating and this is a great place to go to with a group of others to grab food and eat together at.

Yelp
I've never tasted chicken this bitter before. This restaurant is completely overrated. It was so bad that I almost threw up.

Yelp
I love this specific Dave's store so much. I feel like they have the kindest and most patient staff out of any fast food chain that I go to. The food always comes out really quickly and they always ask me if I want extra condiments before I even ask for themself. The chicken is also the best kind of hot chicken too. Really juicy and right amount of seasoning. The interior is also really cool and vibrant. I really love this place!

Yelp
First time having hot chicken sandwich and it didn't disappoint! For $10.99 you get fries and a hot chicken slider! Usually my spice tolerance is terrible but I was able to handle the medium spice! Plenty of parking for the plaza and this place opens late for those late night munchies!

Yelp
The 6 piece Cauliflower Tender Bites are amazing!! The dry rub packs a ton of flavor. I'm not much of a sauce person, but I definitely use extra Dave's sauce for this. The tender bites are large and are worth the price. My only knock on this place is that it took way too long for me to get my food. I waited about 20 minutes to get this. However, I really like the tender bites, and I would come again, thanks!

Yelp
We enjoyed the sliders more. Although we like chick fil a a lot more, this place is worth a try if you like fried chicken sandwiches. It's different. It does get busy.

Yelp
Why has it taken me so long to try Dave's Hot Chicken?? It was pretty much love at first bite for me. The chicken is incredibly flavorful and impressively juicy. Dave's Hot Chicken has made it to the top of my list for amazing chicken tenders, and their chicken sandwiches are nothing to scoff at either. The spices are a burst of flavor, and you can choose your spice level. The side sauces are also really good. So glad I have this option in the neighborhood for a relatively affordable and delicious meal!

Yelp
Ok, from all the Social Media and all the personal talk about Dave's....... I guess, it's True! I've had "Nashville Hot Chicken" since it started trending a few years ago, here in The Bay. I definitely gotta say, For a Chain?! The Chicken is Delicious! I've only had it twice, and it's Juicy! Not dry and overcooked, well seasoned, The Nines. The ambiance is chill, and has an urban feel due to the Graffiti on the wall, the Staff seem nice, and an overall Great experience! So out of the 2 times I've been to Dave's (Once in Oakland, and Once in San Jose), I was Not disappointed either time! I've had the Medium & Hot so far, and "Hot" was perfect for me. I may try extra Hot next time for the Hell of it, but yeah, I'll be back! Thanks Dave! My ONLY bugaboo, is I WISH they had Ranch! That would be Epic! Cmon Dave! Bring some Ranch, the people want it! :)

Yelp
We always come to Dave's hot chicken for a juicy and spicy chicken sandwich with fantastically seasoned fries but today I was wanting to try the cauliflower sandwich for an extra $2 or so. I got the cauliflower sandwich in extra spicy. Let me say, Jesus, this "patty" was gigantic. It was so large that you probably could split it into two sandwiches! As soon as I got it, it was burning hot in my mouth and definitely needed to cool which speaks to its freshness. As for the flavor, cauliflower doesn't really impart a lot of flavor but the breading was the classic Dave's breading which made it taste fantastic. The texture was great because it wasn't overly breaded and just large chunks of cauliflower as if they split a cauliflower into a slab. Overall, my Daves Not Chicken experience was good and if I ever wanted to do a meatless day, this would be fantastic. I'd definitely eat it again if offered. Was it worth it for the two extra bucks? I think it's good to try but I would more likely stick with the classic chicken sandwich. Perhaps the nuggets would be tasty. The service here is always friendly and has a nice San Jose sharks and graffiti theme going on.

Yelp
So I was told to try this place and make a video by my team. "Coach Dave, go to Dave's hot chicken" Place was pretty cool inside. Staff was nice. Now, it cost me 25 bucks for the two slider meal. To much! Fries tasted really good but the sliders. Egh. I would go back if you are paying lol.
google avatar

Clarizza A.

Yelp
I've tried the chicken sandwich here before and got the medium spice level which I thought was too spicy. This time I got the mild which was great but is significantly less spicy than the medium, so I wish it was just a little bit spicier lol. The chicken tasted great though. Will come back and try the medium again :)

Yelp
Got two #2 which came out to be $34 dollars! When I got here I was scared because the sign said Dave's Not Chicken when I was looking for the word Hot, but it was all good at the end. I ordered through the app and they gave me a free drink which I was unable to redeem for some reason, but it was streamlined. You get points based off each dollar spent. When I went to Dave's Hot Chicken in Santa Clara, I got the cheese which I suspected made the burger hot and cold in temperature, so I opted out of the cheese this time. I wasn't sure if it affected anything because I ate the food 40minited later and microwaved it, which I did by taking off the top bun and chicken then stacking it back on. The fries were amazing as usual though and the associates were very kind! I love the side window for pickup since it's super convenient! The medium didn't hit right for me so I will go higher next time, other than that, perfectly crispy chicken.

Yelp
Gavin and I came here late one weeknight because we went back to Milpitas to try and trap a stray and injured cat. My colleague from out of town was staying at a hotel nearby and told me about the cat. This place can get crowded, so if you are in a hurry I don't suggest coming here. When we came in, the place was rather empty, there were 2 gals in front. As we were seated to wait for our order, a few large groups walked in. We each ordered the #2 and a side of mac and cheese. They had a limited milkshake (cookies and cream) that I ordered for him as well. I did "no spice" for him and I selected "HOT" for myself. The gal taking my order warned me about the spice level, but I told her if I cannot handle it then I will order something else. I do love spicy, but I will admit the hottest at Angry Chickz and the hottest at Smoke Eaters make my entire internal body hurt. We both enjoyed it; the crinkle cut fries, the sliders, the mac and cheese. It's expensive. I paid over $60 including tip, but it's not like I go here regularly.
google avatar

Sarah C.

Yelp
Terrible experience. My food came out cold and it was barely spicy, despite the fact that I ordered medium. I tried their new nuggets and fries for about $11 after tax and I would say skip out on it. My friends both got chicken sandwhiches and the bread is not brioche. It's some basic bread, and their meal was also cold. To add on, the tall lady that was working last night had a bad attitude - as in, making loud noises pushing the chairs in like she didn't want to be there. I get it but please be respectful to your customers.
google avatar

Josrph C.

Yelp
Best hot tenders around, I got 1 medium tender which imo had practically no spice at all but ymmv and 1 hot tender that had a decent kick to it. chicken portion size was large and tasted well seasoned flavored through out no sauce required, but definitely welcome. Mac n Cheese isn't horrible but I wouldn't say it's good either, with a thin consistency. Overall recommend this place if you want some hot chicken tenders
google avatar

Yelp
I visited at the recommendation of a local. I needed to get back on my side of town so I opted to use the order online service which was very easy to use. I arrived about 5 minutes later and found that there was plenty of parking. Upon entering my food was ready right away. Service was fast and the staff were very kind. The experience was great. When I got to my food it was fresh and hot. You can tell that the fries were cooked to order. The chicken was just not my favorite. I got the two tenders hot. They were massive and kind of rubbery. The seasoning is similar to hot Cheetos. For those who like that type of flavoring I would recommend a visit here! Unfortunately the type of chicken is just not my personal preference.

Yelp
First time I ever had Dave's was in Vegas. I got it togo back to my hotel room and I thought it was delicious. Although..it was past midnight and we had a few drinks at the casino beforehand. So of course seeing that this Dave's Hot popped up closer to home, we had to give them another try (sober!). Dave's Hot Chicken took over Koja's Kitchen. I was curious to see why their signage said "Dave's Not Chicken." Was it a typo? Did they rebrand? Come to find out that they also serve plant-based sliders, which are made out of cauliflower. We came on a Sunday around 5:45pm and the restaurant was pretty full. Most of the indoor tables were filled up but they also offered outdoor seating. We were able to order immediately with the cashier. Drinks are self serve, you seat yourself and bus your own table. Once our food was ready, they called out our number off our receipt. Our food came out pretty quickly. We ordered.. DAVE'S #2 $14.99 -2 sliders with krinkle fries. Sliders were served with kale slaw, pickles and dave's sauce. You can pick the heat level of each slider individually but we picked "hot" for both. The chicken tender was hot and juicy. The coating was good, there was a bit of sweetness to it but they needed more seasoning. The heat level was a good kick, my lips tingled afterwards. They gave us a pack of honey, which I drizzled all over my chicken. YUM. The krinkle fries were good, they seemed kinda limp at first glance but they actually had a nice light crunch to them. Great when we dipped them in some dave's sauce and ketchup. They also gave us a small stack of sliced pickles, which were crunchy and tangy. We liked the size of the slider, it made it easier to eat and we were able to get a bite of everything. 4/5* I would totally go back if we're in the area and craving a chicken sandwich. I also want to try their cauliflower sliders next time!

Yelp
Came here to try some hot chicken. I ended up getting "lite mild" and it had the teeniest bit of flavor but not at all spicy. It was right up my alley. If I'm brave next time, maybe I'll try mild. Haha. I ended up with combo #3, which came with one tender and one slider/ I think I would've been fine with one slider, which they have. The cost is not too bad but the combos only come with the chicken and fries. Drinks are separate. Seen other places where combos are way extra so that's nice it comes with fries at least. The chicken was ok. I wish it tasted more freshly fried. It seemed like they fried it and reheated it for me, instead of made to order. It wasn't super crispy. Again, I was good with my lite mild spice. I liked that the slider came with pickles and some extra dipping sauce on the side. Fries were crinkle cut and ok.
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
A bit over priced. $40 for 4 tenders and a drink. It's kinda over priced when tenders are the cheapest part of the chicken. Its wells fried and isn't bad food, just not worth it
google avatar

Yelp
Located in a very crowded shopping center with other food stores and a gym, therefore parking can be very hectic during lunch peak times. It's located on the far right hand corner, but it's pretty easy to find when looking for the yellow chicken. Line went by pretty quick even though it was a long line to begin with. As for the quality, really tasty and i would say this is a step up from chick fil a. The chicken was juicy and stayed crunchy. I appreciate that you can choose your spice level depending on your needs. The chicken part is pretty big and overflows from the bun which I love. They have a very a very basic slaw and pickles on them. Remember to ask them for their signature sauce packet. They didn't automatically give us one per sandwich without asking first. Highly recommend to add to give it some extra flavor! A sandwich comes to around $8 but you can make it a meal if you want. I'd recommend to visit for a tasty and quick meal!

Yelp
I really like Dave's Hot Chicken! My friend brought me here since he was craving Dave's when he came back from college :) The service is really pleasant and the restaurant is spacious and very tidy. I always see workers cleaning tables and chairs. The only downside is that this plaza gets really crowded easily and the parking spaces are a little small from what I can remember. I usually get a mild slider with fries (don't judge me! I can't handle my spice!) whenever I come here. They give you a side of pickles and other condiments like ketchup, Dave's sauce, and honey upon request. They can also give you a cup for water if you ask for it. I really like how the ice is small here and I can chew it easily. The honey makes the chicken SO GOOD! The fries are cooked nicely and their Dave's sauce makes it more enjoyable. The chicken and fries have a nice texture. It's honestly one of the best chicken places I've hit up so far.
google avatar

Raymond M.

Yelp
Chicken sandwich was alright. The chicken itself did not taste juicy and tender. The place is clean. Plenty of parking but it does get packed depending on the time you arrive. The customer service is outstanding!
google avatar

Jay H.

Yelp
Gave this place a shot while hungry. Got a chicken sandwich with fries. They have about eight levels of heat to choose from so I went with medium. They have good customer service and the restaurant is very clean. The chicken is just average. It was juicy but not very crispy. Their flavor comes from the heat and nothing else. You can put honey on it but I wanted a flavorful chicken, not a pour honey on a chicken. Not bad but not anything special.

Yelp
Came here with some friends on a Friday night; there was a short line to order, and there was plenty of seating available. I ordered a Mild Dave's #3 with Cheese (1 Tender + 1 Slider + Fries), and it came out pretty quickly. My spice tolerance is iffy, and Mild was just the right amount of kick for me. Unfortunately, the amount of sauce in the slider was a bit lacking, but the overall taste was decent. I'll probably come back here again.

Yelp
I'm so thankful that Dave's opened up in San Jose because I used to go to the Sunnyvale location with my friends all the time. The service at Dave's is always amazing. The chicken is also some of the best chicken I've had. It always has a nice layer of flavor and the inside is juicy and soft. I don't have a great spice tolerance, so I usually go for the Mild Chicken Tenders, which has just the right amount of flavor and spice. Dave's sauce is amazing as well, and I can't imagine taking a single bite without it. I also love the fries, but more so, the Mac and Cheese. It is super creamy and delicious. My friends and I usually get both the fries and mac and cheese and then share! I find that a single tender with a side is usually filling enough for me, but when I am hungry, I get two. The size of the tenders is pretty large and filling. I recommend Dave's for chicken tender lovers because of the food and service!
google avatar

Yelp
Good portion of chicken breast and nice dry rub. I've only tried the mild and medium, and I think I can go hotter. Fries are nice and crispy and I like that it's open kind of late.

Yelp
Dave's hot chicken sandwich w/ a tender and cheese fries. Chicken was perfectly seasoned nice juicy and tender. Fries were nice and crispy Slaw complemented the sandwich perfectly! Dave's sauce was good too :)

Yelp
It's taken me a while to actually try Dave's Hot. They're located right near the gym and HMart - so I frequent this area. But I've never really had the desire to eat something spicy until recently. Firstly, love the branding. I felt like the interior decor was visually exciting. There's plenty of seating inside and out. The sliders are huge, so I shared this with D. And there is an option where you can order two sliders as part of the meal. I left satisfied. Definitely would come back to satisfy cravings and try their tenders next. We also ordered a side of Mac and cheese and a vanilla milkshake with Oreo toppers. Yum.
google avatar

Lele Y.

Yelp
3.5 stars Plaza parking available but it can get crowded Menu is about 6 to 8 items I opt for their chicken sandwich, one chicken tender and french fries I got LITE spice- there's a small kick but nothing overwhelming, fries flavor was alright but a bit underwhelming Might be just preference but chicken sandwich was lacking sauce portion, it's a light drizzle (see photo) and wish a bit more could be added (or if they could offer some more on the side like dixie cup) I don't oppose to coming back if a friend wanted to try but it wouldn't be a go-to for me for chicken sandwiches

Yelp
Short Story: This place rivals chic-fil-a! Long Story: I've been to several locations this year and each time it's almost been perfect. I've gotten the sliders and tenders with varying spiciness. From hot to mild. Each location has a difference in level depending on how "shaky" the chef's hand are. The price is good and the service is excellent! I've been impressed and happy each time. Verdict: I'm going back tomorrow!

Yelp
Hot chicken sandwiches are always a hit or miss for me, but Dave's Hot Chicken hit the mark! A lot of hot chicken places I've gone to have dry chicken in their sandwiches, so I was pleasantly surprised with the juicy, tender chicken in my slider! The slaw helps balance the greasiness and are a great combo with the sandwich. The buns remind me of a Hawaiian roll and I like that it doesn't rip and fall apart so easily. I've gotten medium spice, which didn't taste spicy at all for me, and extra hot, which was just a tiny bit too spicy for me at times; I'd say I have a decent spice tolerance. For reference, I enjoy my buldak noodles with about 50-75% of the sauce packet. The meal comes with a side of extra pickles, sauce on the side, and a packet of honey. The honey definitely elevates the sandwich. The pickles are not that pickley, but as a pickle lover, any extra pickles is always appreciated. I'll definitely be back if I'm in the area and craving a hot chicken sandwich.

Yelp
The sauce cup was basically empty and there was only like 5 fries????? Pls stop being stingy

Yelp
Wow this company is serious about its customer service. They reached out to me to earn a five star experience I had originally gave them four, the fact that they reached out to me, willing to provide some type of incentive to come back and try the food again shows that they are very serious about customer service. I updated my review due to that fact, I do not need to except , anything as far as free food to know that they stand on business when it comes to great service. Great job

Yelp
The food is good. They have good seasoning, and everything from the chicken to the fries are both packed with flavor. The Mac is a bit more on the watery side and a little underwhelming. Although the mac is basic, it's seasoned well and is satisfying. Drink options seem limited, but perhaps I didn't see them. The mild chicken was somewhat dry but had a good flavor, though it did depend on the side sauce to give it structure. The medium was good and fairly seasoned, though it did need more of a kick as it did lack heat. The fries in both boxes were good. The service was not the best and needs to be more attentive. I had gotten two different boxes and paid different prices, but I received the same thing in both boxes. I had driven away before checking and didn't feel like driving back. The workers also didn't keep tidy, and it was in need of a clean. Food 3.7/5 Service 2.5/5

Yelp
Dave's chicken tenders and fries!!!!! They were soo good!!! The tenders were super crunchy on the outside but the chicken inside was nice and moist, also the fries were perfect!!!! they were crunchy and omg the SAUCE was immaculate! It was really good. The ambiance of the place was nice, there were cool art on the wall and it was all colourful! The service was also great, my good came out fast and hot. It was my first time going and it did not disappoint! Definitely worth going if you want some chicken tenders! They also have chicken sliders which is like a sandwich and my friend said that was also really good!

Yelp
We came in before the dinner rush or people were still finding parking as there were no lines at the register. As we fist walked in it was a modern looking interior with modern artwork on the walls. It was very clean as there were several workers cleaning. We went to the register and was met by an employee ready to assist us. She was very patient as we looked at the menu. She had a mole above her lip that highlighted a very genuine smile. She was pleasant that her smile made me smile. Then, after we ate, a gentleman came up and asked for our garbage so he can throw it away. I appreciated the workers there. I feel that they are always responsible for the success of a business. The other part of a successful restaurant is the food. I felt it was a bit pricey, but the size and the taste nearly compensated for it. The chicken was well seasoned and moist in the inside. It came with a sauce, but I didn't need it. Overall: good place to go if you are craving chicken sliders. The staff there are hard workers with a positive attitude. I grade it:A+

Yelp
I wanted to try something different so I came here for a bite to eat with my kids. I'm sad to say I was not impressed. I ordered 2 number 1's (no spice), 1 number 2 (light spice), a side of Mac n cheese and a side slider (mild) to-go. Total was $57 and the meals did not come with a drink. I just was like um ok, no drinks then. But of course the cashier spined the tablet around for a tip. They didn't ask if it was our first time, didn't make any recommendations, didn't even inform me the meals didn't come with a drink. But I normally do tip so I selected the lowest amount which was 15%. I wish I would have selected other and left only a couple dollars. We got our order and went home to discover they only gave us 1 number 1. I checked my receipt and yup I was charged for 2. After a long day I was not in the mood to drive back. Instead I called the store, but the automated message said they tend to get busy so it would be better to message online. So I did. Now for the food... The fries were cold, and nothing was coded with hot sauce/ spice. The tenders I got for my daughter were burned in some areas. Needless to say, not a very good experience. I don't think I will be back.

Yelp
As a frequent visitor of Dave's Hot Chicken in Los angeles, I was excited to try out their San Jose location. Unfortunately, my experience was not as positive as I had hoped. I typically order the chicken sliders and fries, and while the fries were just as good as I remember them, the chicken was a bit of a letdown. It wasn't as juicy as I'm used to, which was a disappointment. That being said, I'm willing to give this location another chance. It's possible that this was just a one-off situation, and I would hate to write off the restaurant completely based on one visit. The fries are definitely worth ordering, crispy on the outside and well seasoned and I hope to have a better experience with the chicken next time.

Yelp
The tenders or sliders with fries is the way to go! Choose your desired spice level and pair your meal with a shake - the Oreo one is good. Service is fine for a fast casual spot, convenient for late dinner.

Yelp
Pretty good chicken! I got the chicken slider and one tender combo with fries. The second from the hottest (can't remember the name). The heat didn't get to me so now I have two more tiers I can try! Hot spice is a dry rub, not a wet sauce. The chicken is cooked well, and the portions for price are fairly reasonable. I didn't fancy the secret sauce on the sandwich, and I'm not really picky...it didn't seem to add anything of value to the sandwich or as dipping sauce for the tender. Maybe save the calories for a better dipping sauce. Tasted like sweet mayonnaise, with less flavor than Mayo. It was just odd and I didn't like it. Fries are ok. I tend to like mine more crispy outside and soft inside. These were soft throughout. Good flavor tho. THE BEST PART! They give you lots of pickles on the side! That will keep me a return customer, plus I need to try the next two hottest levels. Ambiance: The place is clean and super fun decorations. If you're near here I'd pop in and give it a try!
