I ordered a slider and a tender, but as soon as I tasted the slider I marched back up to order 2 more. Really good. The tenders are good but the sliders are crazy good. I mixed Dave's sauce and honey, per the employees suggestion, and it was great. Edit: i love that they replied to this review, these people CARE. The employees were awesome, really friendly and helpful. Nice change from certain other chicken joints where everyone acts like they're a zombie. I arrived on the bus in Santa Rosa and went straight to this place, waited for them to open, and nothing about it disappointed. Cool art on the walls too

Employees were very off putting did not have what you would call an inviting demeanor. Chicken we received was so over cooked so dry and hard. Cheese fries had more of a drop of cheese then a good portion. It was just a bummer and disappointing. You would think you would get better service and quality for something that cost $50 dollars.

The food is amazing! Staff is so friendly! Overall one of our favorites. Well worth the sometimes lengthy wait due to every order made fresh to order but who could complain about that!!!

I went on 10/24 when they where giving the free sliders at 845 pm. The place was so packed!! And some how organized. Jaqueline the lady behind the counter was killing it !! At 855 they announced that at 9pm the free sliders would end but then a rush a people came in. I was thinking bummer but then another lady comes out with free sliders coupons for the rest that had just come in. It's definitely a college area because I was the old fart at 36 there 😂 but good vibes for sure. My kid loves it there so I will for sure be going back. Also get the app. They give free stuff all the time 😀

Best fast food chain of all time. Their hand breaded chicken and spices they use make this place number 1. They have really good spice levels going up to Reaper Spice. Their newest sandwich; Dave’s Not Chicken is highly underrated. It’s so good, that’s it’s literally the only item I order now. All the food is amazing, and trust me the milkshakes are even better!

Monday night at 7pm I placed a togo order on the drive down. When I arrived the food was ready to go. The order was correct. I had a slight issue with the app, trying to order a 2 piece with no spice. The app wouldn't let me add the meal to the bag unless I set the heat level of the second tender. I had to set both heat levels to mild, add that meal to the bag, order another meal and set the heat levels back to no spice, added that meal to the bag, then went to the bag and deleted the first meal. Whew, I found a work around for the issue. With all the time spent on the app, I was sure that the food wouldn't be ready and it was ready yay. The bag was sealed and when I opened the bag the order was 100% correct. Thank You. The side door was real hard to open for some reason?? That is why I gave the atmosphere 4 out of 5 stars.

I've been hearing about this place, and I finally went and got Dave's hot chicken. All I can say is I absolutely love it. I only got the medium heat, which I thought was perfect. I love spicy food, but not blazing hot. The medium heat was delicious and spicy just enough. We got the Chicken Tenders half medium heat and mild, and I happily enjoyed both heat versions. It came with Dave's hot chicken sauce, a container full, plus a few individual packets, which were perfect because we had a lot of leftovers, so I took one chicken tender to work the next day, and I was a mighty happy camper! The service was quick enough and Dave's hot chicken was a spicy chicken tender feast! The whole family loved our dinner, It was tangy, crunchy, juicy chicken deliciousness! And if you like mild, and I must say it was just a hint of spice, it is still absolutely delicious! Nice, big, thick white chicken tenders with that yummy crunchy crust. We ordered chicken tenders with white bread, and we put Dave's hot chicken sauce on the bread and it came with a container of pickles. "I have heard all kinds of things about this place, some good, some not so good." All I can say is that my experience with the food was absolutely delicious and spicy. Came right before the dinner rush. The cashier at the front was super helpful and friendly. I'm not from here but by far one of my favorite fried chicken tender joint to come to. Medium spice level has a good enjoyable kick to it. Try it with honey! Military discount also available. Must try. Will be back when ever I'm craving fried chicken.

Usually ordering a 'Hot' Tender & for the Tender 'Extra Hot' because the bun is sweet & had the kale coleslaw to cool it down. If you don't like the sweet bun of the slider then the Tender comes with a white slice of bread. - Chicken is plump & juicy. - Service is quick & friendly. - Sit inside or outside with a fast food service style. - Perfect for a quick bite! Came to try Dave's not chicken you get to choose your spice level. The not so chicken was very yummy. I didn't realized until I was sitting down you can make any meal into a not so chicken meal. The place is pretty packed. They also have late night midnight-2 am in case you're craving a midnight snack.

Never thought I'd give a fast food place 5 stars, but here it is. The staff is friendly and polite, I usually go with the extra spicy with side of Mac n cheese. The chicken has the right kick to it and is always juicy, the Mac n cheese is a must when you visit.

One of the WORST chicken meal experiences I've ever had. The medium spicy was so hot my husband couldn't eat his meal. Very overpriced and just poor quality food.

I called to place an order and they connected me to an overseas call center in India. I thought I was doing the restaurant a favor by not using uber eats but I guess not The chicken though was good though so I gotta give them the 4 stars

Food: 4/5 I ordered the one tender slider (flavor: reaper), and it was delicious. The slider has heavy breading, refreshing pickles and kale slaw to pair. I was asked to sign a waiver for the reaper level but did not find it that hot. One of the kind employees remade the slider and added extra of the reaper seasoning which was amazing. Overall, really crispy, juicy chicken which is also flavorful. For my taste, I wish there was just slightly less breading. Service: 5/5 I thought I might catch a shirt or picture finishing the reaper sandwich but the person working there offered a milkshake instead. Very kind and thoughtful. Everyone working seemed upbeat and attentive. Ambiance: 5/5 Lots of seating inside. Nice, relevant music playing. Bathrooms were clean and accessible.

I like that I can pick how hot my chicken is going to be! The chicken is good and not too dry like other chicken sandwiches I've had. Food comes out fast and is a good spot to go for lunch!

We just left this place after waiting for our food for 45 minutes. We watched the restuarant fill up and empty 3 time with people. We had a reciept and paid but they still forgot us. Zero stars

Hey all, no pics this time but since this is chain I'm gonna be okay. Not great . That's how I sum up my experience. The service was good and honestly a. Notch above most chains. The interior was clean and I liked the outdoor area. Can we discuss the chicken? I mean ...it was not good on my two visits. The spice level was the best attribute. The chicken itself was dry in both the sandwich and the tenders . On both occasions. People rave online but I cannot. The coating was also a bit off putting. Sauce was fine. Sorry Dave ...not my bag.

Wow the service here is amazing. I've been here a few times and everyone has been so friendly it was a genuine surpise. I even went on drakes birthday for a free sandwich and they still even with a line out the door treated everyone kindly and took the time to take each and every person's order. My go to order is the sandwich combo and I usually get between hot and medium. one time I went and a worker named Michael was kind enough to share a small taste of the reaper when I was curious and I'm so glad he did before I made the mistake of ordering it for fun. this place has been open a while now and I think it has grown to be a santa rosa staple and a reliable option for late night food. Something especially appreciated in Santa rosa where everything closes early!

I've been wanting to try this place for months. I don't live in the area and so I had to plan a visit. Jan 31 was the day. The interior is spacious and clean. Public restrooms, nice counter. They apparently do a good Door Dash business. I ordered 2 tenders with fries. I got one @ medium and the other at hot. When I opened the box, I couldn't tell which was which. There were actually 4 pieces in the box. The appearance looked suspicious. The breading was fine but it looked like a pepper salt was used for the range of heat I asked for. When I took a bite I found the chicken to be quite tender. Decent quality. However, It was so salty I had trouble eating it. Overwhelmingly so. The tender I suspected was medium even had pretty good heat to it. Let that be a warning! Wish I had liked it more....

Great service & good food! I love the ambience here. The food is always made super fast. I like that you can choose your spice level. Usually I order the #3 combo with a shake :) If you want a spicy, good quality sandwich -- go here! It's similar to Howlin Rays in Southern CA!

So happy we made the drive out to Santa Rosa to try this place, it was soooo worth it! Ash gave us excellent service. She had asked if we'd been there before & since we hadn't, she took the time to go through the menu with us. My husband & I both ordered the two sliders one hot one medium. I am not exaggerating when I say it was the BEST fried chicken slider I've ever had. The chicken was crispy on the outside & juicy on the inside. Service was not just friendly but also fast, definitely worth the drive & we will be returning!

Rating 3.5/5 Ordered online and it was very easy picking up the order, customer service was very nice. Ordered one chicken tender and one slider, but I'd probably order two sliders next time because the chicken tender was looking a little scarce. I wanted to order a chicken tender for my dog but a single tender is $5.99 which is overpriced In my opinion because you're not guaranteed a big juicy tender. The fries were a little on the soggy side, but the seasoning was alright. I don't really like pickles that much but Dave's pickles are really delicious. Overall flavor is there, however the tenders are hit or miss.

tl;dr: Legit Nashville hot chicken in Santa Rosa! Santa Rosa has needed a shop like Dave's Hot Chicken for a while -- it's a great option when you want a more premium chicken sandwich that actually has good flavor. We came to check out Dave's Hot Chicken for lunch and weren't disappointed by the huge portions, fresh food, and quick service. We ordered the combo that came with sliders, fries, and coleslaw. We opted for hot, and it was just the right amount of spice -- not too hot, but also not bland! The fries were fresh and crispy; there's nothing more disappointing that getting soggy fries, so I'm glad that Dave's Hot Chicken delivered. This place tends to experience long lines. Fortunately, I came during the week when the lunch rush wasn't too terrible. Tons of parking in the parking lot next to Safeway. If you're in the mood for a fried chicken sandwich, Dave's Hot Chicken should be at the top of your list!

I came back from Nashville 2 months ago and had some good fried chicken down south. Was craving chicken so came here to Dave's hot chicken to see what it was all about! To start their menu only has 3 combos: 1. Two piece tender with fries 2. Two sliders with fries. 3. One tender + one slider with fries. They also serve a few sides, milkshakes and soft drinks. Your HOT o meter range from No spice to the Reaper (if you dare!). I ordered number 1 for myself (Med spice) and a number 3 for my hubby (HOT spice). The tenders were soft, juicy on the inside, hot spice level on the outside. Med was perfect for me and I thought it was pretty hot already. I enjoyed the Dave dipping sauce. It worked for both the tenders and fries. They give you ketchup (I only got 2 packs :( and honey on the side). I got a ton of honey packets and tried it out. The honey sweetness actually neutralizes the hotness so if it's too unbearable dip it in honey! I also got 2 strawberry milkshake on the side. Wow! I was full for hours afterwards. Def worth the money and a trip for lunch.

Great seems a little extreme. Good seems inferior. Maybe a 4.5 Dave's has been open for over a year. I've been meaning to get there since it opened. I just kind of forgot about it (eating healthier over the past 9 mos has deterred my eating out during a majority of that time). Tonight was my chance. My wife and I had some errands to run in the evening, we both were hungry...so mentioned Dave's and I was like...sure. I completely forgot they existed. I had no idea about their menu. It seemed very simple. The "sliders" are deceiving. I'm used to tiny little burger sliders, so I ordered the #2: 2 Chicken Sliders & Fries. I decided to play it safe and went medium "heat." Those sliders were pretty dang big. Maybe I just can't eat that much as I used to. Yes, I did finish the meal. I'm no quitter. Overall, I was impressed. The chicken was quite tasty. I barely tasted the medium flavoring. I truly enjoyed the added sauce supplied. The crinkle cut fries, while simple were excellent w/ the added sauce (why waste the packets?). It did seem pricey for a meal that didn't include a soft drink. Whatever, no big deal. I don't do this often anymore. Also, the place was clean. Staff was friendly and outgoing. That says a lot, as quite a few places just are dirty nowadays. Dang, I'm starting to sound old. Again, I was impressed. Will I be back. I'd love to say I would, but considering it took me over a year to get here in the first place, we'll see. I would definitely not be opposed.

THEY HAVE THIS IN SOCAL AND IM SO GLAD THEY OPENED ONE UP IN THE NORTH BAY. I drove TWO hours to get here and every bite left a nostalgic memory in my taste buds. They made my friend sign a waiver on receipt for trying to carolina reaper spice lol!

So... here is my update... it was Great the First time I had it. It was also great the second time I had it. But! The third time and fourth time... Yikes! Just kidding, it's been great which I why I keep going back, and plan on going again for an extra little treat on my wife's birthday this weekend! How this is still only at 3 1/2 stars I do not understand! I wish it was healthy because I would literally eat this weekly!!!

It's the lord's day so while the usual chicken sandwich was not opened, we ventured north to Dave's Hot Chicken after hiking on the coast. I've had Dave's in LA and I remember it being delicious. We stopped by just before 1 and the place was empty. Michael who took our order was amazing. Friendly and welcoming. I had the slider and the tender which was honestly alot. It came with fries and slice bread but didn't finish. I ordered it hot but was manageable. Will be back but wish it was closer to the city!

I came into this Dave's twice and I gotta say it was much better the second time around. The first time I came, I feel like it was the grand opening weekend and they had long lines and the fries weren't as good compared to the second time. I like the cheese fries and Dave's sauce. I also ask for extra pickles. I like how Dave's has different spice levels. I got the medium and it was perfect. The fries the second time were super fresh and were crunchy. I got them with cheese and it was really good. I got the combo with a sandwich and a tender/piece of bread. I prefer the sandwich and I think it's cause that bread is better than the "toast" which isn't really toasted. It is pricey in my opinion for the amount of food you get. I think since it's promoted so much on social media. Overall, I give Dave's hot chicken a solid 6.5/10.

Yuck! I'm shocked that's called food at all. It has flavor but not necessarily flavor you'd expect from food or from a kitchen. I didn't think fast food had much further to fall but here is proof that there is always a lower wrong on the ladder.

This place is neat and clean. Our server was polite and gave recommendations since this was our first time here. We ordered the two sliders with fries, tenders with fries and a side of Mac n cheese. Heat level: hot. The chicken was well cooked-moist and spice level was great. Just enough heat to make the lips burn, but no so much that it's not enjoyable. The sliders were tasty with a nice kale slaw and we got them with cheese. The two sliders is definitely enough for two! The Mac n cheese tasted good but nothing spectacular. The fries were Krinkle cut with seasoning but they were a little soggy. Overall we would definitely come here for a quick tasty meal. And HOT was our level of enjoyable spice.

This is hands down one of my favorite spots to grab fried chicken sandwiches. It's expensive for a chain, but it's well worth it, I've never had a bad experience here.

I'm updating my review but nothing's changed. I. My opinion there are way better places to get similar items from. And the manager comment to my last review led me to the tell them direct web page which felt very imporsonal and makes me not want to eat here ever. My first review stands and I doubt this place could ever wow me. Unless the food gets worse. Thank you for reaching out to me but this is one customer that will gladly give other places my money.

My first experience, there was many more people and much more busy, but I got my food in less than 20 minutes. Foods still bomb, but second experience waited around 1 hour for two items. Service: it's pretty chaotic and the order numbers are all messed up and you should expect a longer than expected wait. Waited 1 hour for two items. Service needs to improve. Food is good though. It's a cross between Popeye's flavorful chicken and the freshness of Chick-fil-A, minus the multiple sauces. The chicken was good and place was nice but I think I still prefer Popeye's.

Came back a second time and ordered my the chicken tenders "mild" instead of medium spicy and it was perfect for me but my husband found it still a bit too spicy. He's a light weight. Fries and coleslaw are just fine but nothing to write home about. The place was pretty busy and has plenty of nice outdoor seating.

It's fast food, so go in remembering this and it'll help shape expectations. I ordered the 2 piece tender with cheesy fries. Overall I was impressed. I got hot and used the honey to temper the heat, it was perfect. The fries I ordered extra crispy to hold up to the cheese and it seemed to work overall, they did stay pretty crispy. I was happy with my meal, I've been wanting to check it out and I'm glad I did. It's not the kind of thing I eat too often but I did not regret going. Pricing is fair, portions are generous, and staff was friendly. My guy ordered the extra hot and I could seriously smell the heat from the box, lol. We like a lot of spice, so it wasn't too much for him. I tasted heat with the hot, but it was completely bearable. Chicken was crispy, even after the drive home and not eating there. Even some of the fries stayed crispy till the end - very impressive (IMHO).

It's good. The parking lot is super busy and there doesn't seem to be time where it isn't. The staff is moving fast! It's a fast food feeling and the whole place is kinda dinner and fast food. I liked the food but it was too bad that there wasn't a nice place to sit. I'd do it again for take out. Nothing too special

I've heard great things about this spot and was super excited to try it as I was passing by on a road trip home! We ordered the 1 tender 1 slider and fries combo to split, and I had the tender portion with medium heat. The chicken itself was super crispy and well seasoned, and Dave's sauce made it even better. The sourdough bread slice was interesting but good, and I think it had to be one of the best fried chicken spots I've tried. The fries that came with it were also really good as they were seasoned nicely and also thick. I'm sad theres not another Dave's near where I live, but super glad I got to try it!

I've seen this place for some time but today I decided to give it a try. They had a sign up for a free milkshake if you do a check in or show a review in YELP. Since this was my first time I had no review. Bright, sunny, clean, and very friendly staff. I ordered the #3 mild. It was a little too spicy but okay. I guess I prefer my fried chicken crispy. It definitely wasn't crispy. Almost a lil soggy. I only ate part of one tender, and a few fries. I didn't try to "slider". The tender was really big and bulky and so not crispy so I lost interest pretty quick. I feel confident my granddaughter would really like this place. Me, not so much. If I rated the staff and inside I'd give them 5 stars. Just wasn't my cup of tea. I say give them a try anyway.

I had a "wtf" moment eating here. I cant believe this place has as many stars as it does. We ordered the #1 (reaper) and the #3 (Mild). We got our orders and the #3 was wrong, no slider, just tenders. I go up to let them know, they replate it and shout for me that its ready...okay atleast bring it to me since they messed it up, but nope. Your meal doesnt come with a drink so you order that apart. 13bucks for dry rub on a tender & no drink? Damn. I got a teaspoon amount of coleslaw on my slider, so I couldnt count on that to add flavor to the dry bun they give. At first I had only checked in for a free milkshake(they have a sign on the door) but after being so disappointed in this meal, I much rather walked next door to cold stone & paid for shake...couldnt take another disappointment.

Food is great! I'm glad they added vegetarian options:) I normally get the number four! My order takes four times as long as any other orders tho. Super understaffed

I went there right before it was going to close at around 10:45 chairs and tables were not available. The staff were very nice. The portions were nice and big, the only thing was I asked for no pickles and they packed the chicken right into the pickle. I hope I get my free meal , because its written on the wall that if I post a yelp review I get a free meal.

Sooooooo they missed an entire meal.... On top of that, when I called In, they tried to explain to me why I was MY FAULT I didn't get my order, yes I should have checked, BUT in my defensive, you should have done your job you get paid to do correctly. They refunded my card, and offered me a free meal, I don't think I will be taking them up n that offer.... The "sliders" we got on the other meal were on FREAKING WONDER BREAD... I could go down to food max and MAKE that whole sandwich (that was about 13 with taxes) for about 2 bucks....... The people taking the orders were nice tho, and gave us lots of sauce.... So I guess there is that.... And the sauce is good.... So? Yea..... lol

I was extremely skeptical about about trying this place at first . Glad I did. The chicken was cooked perfectly, wonderful texture. Juicy on the inside. Not a soggy breading or overly breaded. I did not find my food to be salty at all. I ordered a Combo #1 Mild and I am glad I did , I don't enjoy very spicy food so this was perfect with a hint of a spice nothing overwhelming. Overall this meal was better than expected. Did not care much for the fries , they could have been double fried . They were soft fries not crispy fries . I loved the pickles ! I think I'll ask for extra next time . For a #1 & #2 with no additions or drinks total came out to $26.70 . Do I think that is kind of pricey.. just a tad . At least the chicken tenders are a nice size . Very loud inside and busy . You can clearly see the employees working very fast and effectively to get the orders out . I was surprised how fast our order was ready . Literally in n out less than 10mins . I would try this place again, maybe try the sliders again and this time add some cheese. Also try a a milkshake. Guess I got my next order ready ..

Dave's Hot Chicken is getting a lot of hype right now. There was a local newspaper article about it and how it is backed by the rapper Drake. Driving by, there was a line out of the store and down the block. I decided to check it out. The line moved quickly, the staff was friendly when it was our turn to order. Very basic. Either chicken tenders or sliders with pickles and fries. They also have Mac and cheese or slaw which you can substitute the fries for. There are sodas and shakes available too. The hype is the various spice levels you can order on the chicken. From no spice to "reaper" where you have to sign a release before you get your order. I ordered mild as I'd like to taste the food without burning my mouth. This is definitely fast food and just ok. Unfortunately it's nothing you are going to go out of your way for or crave it every week. I could be wrong, but I don't see this lasting once the hype dies down. I'll probably go back but no time soon and probably because I'm with someone who wants to try it for the first time.

Great addition to the casual food college scene. I had to try the reaper cause I'm a masochist and love spice. Pretty freaking hot but also super flavorful. I took 3 bites, drank a bottle of water and finished a few hrs later. The xtra hot is also very spicy but perfect for me. Add chz to your slider and don't forget honey!

WTF?! I was NOT expecting this place to be so delicious! It looks like a fast food strip-mall reject but I was feeling impulsive so I stopped by. The fumes from the pepper had me coughing but DANG that chicken was tasty, juicy and tender! I had far lower expectations and this place was DELICIOUS! I'd happily go again!

Since people had said it was busy and orders would take hours, I waited a few weeks to try out. it was definitely worth the wait. Menu is pretty simple. Sliders & tenders. thats it. plus sides. (coleslaw , fries, Mac n cheese) they have fountain drinks or bottled drinks too! oh! and milkshakes (Vanilla and strawberry) I recommend you ordering online, it made it super easy! my estimated time was 10mins and it was on point. Food was delicious. I ordered my chicken Medium heat. next time I'll get Hot. ;) The medium still had great flavor, it was crispy yet tender on the inside. husband ordered fries and they had some seasoning on the top, tasted pretty good. strawberry milkshake was good. I have no negative thoughts on my meal. I will definitely be returning.

Came here after I attended a high school play off game. My mom wanted to try it! We had never tried Daves hot chicken before so we came and it didn't disappoint! I got the two slides meal and added cheese moms got the two tender meal. I got mild it wasn't hot at all. Dave's sauce was good and I got so full off the #2 so it was really filly. Portion size was perfect. A little on the pricy side. Two meals and one small soft drink cost $32. But if you check in on Yelp you get a free milkshake. Customer service was great. Cashier was really friendly and patient and knowledgeable of the menu! If I'm ever back out this way I would definitely come back!

Spicy chicken heaven! Dave's hits the spot for delicious flavor and incredible quality. The #2 with cheese is my go-to, it is mouthwatering. Go as spicy as you like, try the reaper, I dare ya!

We went on the Monday after opening weekend at 5:30pm. Line was just out the front door which was approximately 25 minutes. not too horrible since the line stretched to the five guys previously. I ordered the medium combo #3 medium and the SO ordered combo #1 reaper. We also got the mac and cheese side to try out. I like my spicy food and I found medium to be perfect for my spice tolerance. The tender was good, but the slider with the pickles and the slaw offered more contrast. I would say the amount of slaw you get in the slider is a bit sad. Could definitely use more slaw. The SO who is a fan of the Korean fire noodles tells me the reaper level spice was on point. The crust was slightly powdery and sticks to your lips so be prepared. Normally crinkle cut fries are my least favorite but they were surprisingly crispy. The Mac and cheese was also surprisingly delicious. I wish they filled the container though.
