Amazing experience at Dave’s Hot Chicken in Saint Paul! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was very pleasant, and the place was clean and well organized. The customer service was excellent the manager, Mayra, was super friendly, attentive, and helped us understand the menu with great patience. The food was delicious: the chicken was juicy, well seasoned, and had just the right level of spice, exactly as we ordered. Thank you to the team for making our visit so great!

I came here instead of canes as I wanted to give this place a try. I am fairly disappointed. The service was very bad. They said they had kids meals then took two kid meal orders but then said we don’t have kids meals. My family had a hard time understanding and couldn’t clearly understand the worker while placing the order. We ordered mild and spicy #2 meals and the spicy one wasn’t spicy at all. The food seemed to lack flavor and wasn’t very hot so I feel like it was old or reheated. The medium was good just lacked a bit of flavor. I am not a big fan of fries but the fries were really good.

Chicken sliders were delcious. Dave's Sauce is a must. Fast and friendly service! Coleslaw doesnt belong in thr loaded fries, nonetheless, it was still good!

Dave's Hot Chicken is a very colorful experience. The food was delicious and served in big juicy chicken proportions. The fries had awesome seasoning as well as the chicken. The pickles come on the side and on the sliders. The pickles are very crunchy and juicy. If you like some spice, Hot is the best option for the spice while anything below Hot is not spicy Tip: I highly recommend eating in for faster service.

Overall we thought it was a 3 out of 5. Taste starts out good, then the batter takes over. Service was fast, restaurant is clean and the patio was very nice on a sunny day!

WOWWW OUTSTANDING!!!🤩 This was my first Dave’s hot chickens I’ve ever been too. I LOVEEE Diana she’s the sweetest. Her service was so welcoming, her eye contact was everything. I felt like I’ve known her forever. The food was great I got Dave’s #2 HOT and it was so juicy the mix of hot and the honey 🔥🔥 . THE ICE IS SO YUMMY TOO! The lay out of this restaurant is so chill and the metal chairs were actually comfortable. Shout out the artists because it’s so urban, city vibes. 10/10 definitely will be coming back, I left with the biggest smile on my face. (As you can tell by the pictures)

Food was good, I love Dave’s! I got the 1 slider and 1 tender (flavor: hot) comes with fries, kaleslaw (you can replace it with extra sauce or extra pickles) a piece of bread, Dave’s sauce, and pickles. Make sure y’all use the app to earn points for future rewards! The inside of the store is calm, great art on the walls. Overall, I love their chicken and will be back soon!

Very busy since open with cars into street. Wife ordered two sliders/fries, I got a slider, fry and strip. Big pieces of chicken with great texture and flavor. Not real fast, but it is real fresh. Even the fries had a nice crisp outer texture which I love. I got spice level hot (kind of middle ground.) Just right for me. You place order and get a pager. Lots of staff and someone was cleaning off tables and floor the whole time we were there/nice!

Good but I guess I was expecting more... We went here on a Sunday and it wasn't busy so we got our food quickly. The presentation is nice and they have crinkle cut fries!! My favorite!! We both got medium spice for our heat level and to be honest, there was no heat and I love heat!! Next time we will try a hotter sauce. The dry rub is a little off putting, I was expecting more sauce. We will be back, just not going out of our way...

If you love spiced fried chicken, you gotta go here!! The chicken is always so juicy, crunchy, and super seasoned! It just doesn't compare to other tender spots. I always order the xtra-hot and it really kicks ya! They also have a heat scale if you can't handle spice which is super cool! You def have to order the mac & cheese too! It's so creamy & pairs so well with the meal. You can also add cheese on the sliders! So yummy!! :) The service was great even if they make some mistakes. They are usually super sweet about it. Good space & bonus points for the drive thru!

Dave's Hot Chicken was INCREDIBLE! This is the best hot chicken I have ever had in my life. My bf and I went to Dave's Hot Chicken on a week night and the drive thru line was long so we chose to order in. Once inside the restaurant you are greeted by an array of colors and plenty of indoor seating. I was surprised to find that it was not nearly as busy inside and we got are food much faster. We each ordered a chicken sandwich with fries. The fries were krinkle cut which are not my favorite but they were nicely seasoned. You are allowed to pick how spicy you want your hot chicken sandwich, which I appreciated, and the sandwich came with pickles and some fresh coleslaw on it. In addition, it is served with honey packets and Dave's sauce. The sandwiches were delicious and I am craving one again as I am writing this!

I love this location because there is a lot more seating. However, parking is more limited. They do have a drive-through and the line can be extremely long. The food was delicious as always. Service was good, nothing superb.

Ordering is counter service and they have buzzers for when the food is ready. This is an interesting new chicken option. The fries were really good. They were crispy and the seasoning is so enjoyable. The chicken had a really coarse dry rub. The slider with the slaw was a really good combo. The the pickles are nice and crisp. The restaurant looked small from the outside but has plenty of seating with 1/2 booths, tables, stools at the window and a small patio. I wish they had easily accessible ketchup and more Dave's sauce. The food took about 10 mins. It would be great for a fast casual meeting. They have gender neutral bathrooms.

Super convenient location in St Paul Highland Park district. Simple menu and above all, delicious tender chicken and crunchy fries. Get ready to get messy (in a good way) and start licking your fingers (yes, it's finger licking good). The option for hotness is an extra special to meet your desire level. Option to take out or dine in. DINE IN of course, you do not want to eat soggy sliders and fries! Will definitely come again.

Well as far as chicken fast food goes I'm not sure what to say. I'm not a fan of Raising Cane or Chick fil A and I can add Dave's Hot chicken to the list. There was no flavor to the chicken. The fries were better than both. I know the lines are long at both places and at Dave's however I will not be eating there again. The welcome by Trina was great. She was friendly. The ambiance was fine however it was too loud to actually engage in any conversation. The tables were dirty and so rather than have so many people hanging out behind the counter they should be cleaning the tables. I'm happy some people enjoy eating there it's not for me.

My husband and I were excited to try this place and compare it to other fast food, chicken, and it was just OK. We went through the drive-through and the card in front of us took probably 5 to 10 minutes to get their food, but they had ours ready when we pulled up. My favorite part of the meal was the juicy chicken, but my husband and I found the medium to have almost no spice, I liked the slightly crispy fries but the Dave sauce is primarily mayo and that's really all you taste. You might be better off getting your chicken fill elsewhere.

Tasteless chicken, super disappointed. The fries were alright, but not worth it. Also, why are the drinks separate from the meal?

My sliders had a bunch hair on it when I came to open it up so nasty and disgusting to have to come to eat my only meal for the day and it's ruined by someone's hair

Went there twice. The first time was a good experience but the 2nd time, never going back. The spice level is not consistent. The pickup line was out to the door and I needed a spoon for my Mac and cheese- because I didn't get one on my tray. I went to ask for a spoon and ketchup at the cash register, since there was not a line there and no one was ordering food. The young lady with longer blonde hair said, you need to go wait in the pick up line for that. Thankfully the other cashier, young gentleman said, no it's ok I'll get it for you. Knowing the spice level is not consistent and the customer service is mid-level to poor, I won't be going back. Not worth the drive or money for inconsistency and poor service.

It's a fast casual restaurant, so take this review with that understanding. They are a little more expensive than Nashville Coop, and a little higher quality in my opinion. I still plan on going to Nashville Coop as they are closer to my house in Merriam Park, and again, cheaper, but if I'm hungry and near Dave's, yep I'll go there over driving to Nashville. I think Dave's chicken is a little more juicy and I like the toppings on the sliders. Great combo!

Only speaking on the service. I waited inside for about 10 minutes in line before someone showed up behind the register. then after waiting even longer I decided to go through the drive thru. When I pulled up to give my order, the kid on the other end of the mic stated that he was going to have to close the drive thru due to him being the only one there and he couldn't do everything. These kids need more work on how to talk to customers in situations like this. More training would be better. I'm sure the food is great but I will just have to wait and see.

My boyfriend and I were so extra to try this place ! We both got the #1 meal. The fires and pickles are ok but the chicken was SOOOO salty I couldn't even finish my food plus to give people spicy chicken but you have to pay extra for a fountain drink is ridiculous in my opinion. Will not be back.

Best spicy fried chicken in the twincities. I like the dry rub flavor on the crispy chicken. I thought hot would be too spicy but it was perfect. I do want to try extra hot next time. They also have a daves sauce like chic fil a sauce. One slider was a good portion for me and fries. Mac n cheese was watery, i will pass on it next time. Drive thru was long took 20-30mins. Customer service was super busy.

A full 180 from what this replaced. Bright. Cheerful and good eats. Was surprised that my six year old - who doesn't like anything too spicy gobbled up the seasoned fries. We both enjoyed them. I had a 'medium' hot slider and will definitely move up the heat meter a little next time. Thanks for putting a great food spot on the block!

I really enjoyed the chicken sliders here! They werent very greasy and had great flavor, large portions as well.

Not hot! I drove through on a Saturday, no one in line ahead of me. I ordered a combo with a chicken tender and a sandwich. After a fairly long wait, I got the food. Sandwich was an especially good concept: nice sauce and very fresh slaw all in a good bun and decent piece of chicken with good spice. Cheese was a bit too velveeta for my taste. Issue was this: as I opened to package within a minute of receiving it, both the sandwich and tender were room temp at best. I think lots of potential for nice takeout, but I'd skip unless they figure out how to keep food hot.

Pretty good chicken tenders. I've been seening advertisements on my social media and wanted to check it out. I got the #3 and I got to say that it was pretty good. The chicken was a nice size for the slider and the fries were a nice serving size. I'm not a big fries fan so I appreciate the serving size. The service was wonderful. I must of got a new employee to serve me. Great to see kids learning about customer service. The inside seems a bit small from the outside but it's got some space especially when summer rolls around. One negative, and it's my fault I took it to go so when I got home it was a bit wet do to that pesky condensation. It's best to eat it in house so it's fresh.

First time customer, no line in the restaurant on a Sunday at 2:00pm and I waited over 30 minutes for two chicken tenders that came cold and soggy.

Normally one of my favorite chicken spots and I usually don't write a review but on 08/28 I ordered two sliders and Fry's and received the wrong flavor, when I went back to tell the cashier she told me that's what I told her and when I showed her the ticket she doubled down and said she accidentally put that but she remembered my order (she didn't it was wrong and I even had proof.) I just decided to eat it because she seemed super annoyed and I will be back but that was ridiculous.

Love good service, good price, great location.very sweet cashier miss Shavon was polite and explain everything clearly..I 100% recommend.

I ordered Dave's hot chicken through DoorDash and the food came out absolutely hot and delicious. I ordered mild slider and a medium tender, and they were both delicious. My partner ordered a medium slider and a the hot tender was absolutely tasty with a kick. What sold me is that I ate the rest of my medium chicken tender later at room temperature and it tasted even better! Dave's Hot Chicken has lives up to its hype!!!

It was very good so glad we have one in Highland park. 2 sliders was bomb good amount of food I think it's better then rasing canes

Horrible service! Food is okay at best. They were extremely rude, I'll never go back. Nashville coop is not far down the road and a lot better, food and service.

I really didn't care for the dry rub. It was somewhat gritty. This is more a personal preference than the food itself.

Super good chicken, great flavor, and fresh ingredients. My taste buds were bursting with flavor. My mouth was watering. Really cool atmosphere, I definitely recommend!
