"Once one of the most popular spots in downtown Evanston, Dave’s Italian Kitchen abruptly shuttered in 2016, only to quickly reopen further north on Noyes with a wide selection of pasta, pizza, and traditional chicken dishes. Prices remain low and while the restaurant is no longer BYOB they offer a selection of affordable wines by the glass and bottle as well as beer from Evanston’s Sketchbook Brewing Company." - Naomi Waxman, Samantha Nelson

Love the cosiness of the place and seem to have lots of return customers. It has a big selection of different combination of pasta and pizza, essentially any pasta can be made with any sauce. The portion was very generous. I tried the ceasar salad and it was good. The dressing is more garlicky than other places, but still good. The pasta was spinach pappardelle bolognese made with ground turkey. I also had side of sautéed spinach and meat ball.

This restaurant is really great for carry-out. The space inside can seat you but it is sort of small. The food has always been really great every time I've ordered here. Every dish I have tried has always been well-prepared and delicious. In my opinion, the calzone here especially stands out as a favorite.

Dave’s new kitchen is a small cozy place, with delicious food! The server was very likable and helpful. Took his suggestion and ordered the ravioli with Rose sauce: amazing taste! Definitely recommend this sauce with whatever you’d like to eat. The bread was fresh! Nice wine. The food came out very fast! Be careful as this small restaurant so close to the campus may get filled quickly in busy hours.

Well, after the manager taunted my wife about her gentle request to lower the shade from the strong late day winter sun or move to another table in an otherwise empty restaurant, we considered walking out but stayed. Each of our dishes were mediocre at best at dinner, but now 5 hours later we are both suffering from awful stomach aches. Great job, Dave!

Google
What a Gem! I felt so cared for. I stopped in to order food to go. The young lady there made me feel as though I came into her living room and made me feel at home. She gave me a drink and served me bread while I waited. She didn't have to do that at all. Its the little things that make such a difference. By the way my food was delicious. I will be back for sure to dine in.😍

Google
Great spot and I’ve been to all of Dave’s locations following him across Evanston for 30 years.

Google
The food at Dave's Italian kitchen is always delicious. The spaghetti Carbonara is my go-to, but the Calzones are also very good. I am more of a to go person, but the smaller location they moved to looks okay, plain and minimal but cozy.

Huge portion meatball sub! Grub Hub delivered to our 2nd floor door no problems. Calzone is huge but needs Ricotta. Lasagna is great!

Yelp
I've never eaten AT the new Dave's on Noyes. I only carry-out. I had been devastated when the Dave's before this closed without notice. I just love their food. At every restaurant I go to, if they offer tiramisu, I order it. I'm doing a taste test. And a comparison. Tonight's tiramisu was a fail. The espresso-soaked lady fingers were WAY more soaked/wet than with any tiramisu I've ever had before! I couldn't tell you if the cream on it was any good or not, because that espresso was overpowering and left a bitter aftertaste. So depressing. I've never had anything bad from Dave's before. We're talking YEARS of ordering. I've followed them all over Evanston. Also, it was tiny. (See photo) I do not remember getting a serving of tiramisu this small ever before--again: anywhere. I feel like when they were on Chicago Ave, you could share it with everyone at the table. This one: 2" X 1.5" I will say the sauce-covered spinach pie (which is still my favorite main dish order) is absolutely heavenly. I should've led with this. Sorry, Dave's. I'll be back. I'm still giving you 5 stars. This tiramisu has got to be a one-time mishap.

Yelp
I was going back and forth about what to rate this. It's really a 4.5, but I decided to give it a 5 because the prices were really good and it's good to support a small business. If you are looking for a nice big bowl of pasta, this place is for you! There are a bunch of different pastas and different sauces. I had to be meatless today so I had Angel hair with the rose sauce (marinara and Alfredo mixed). Perfect! The most shocking part was that it was a giant bowl for only $10! I also got the cheesey garlic bread which was great. If there is any downside, it's that the place is super small. Also, I could see the service going down if the place was packed. It was fine when I was there, but a packed restaurant would be a nightmare. If you're looking for some seriously good Italian food, especially pasta, make sure to check out this place. The earlier, the better

Yelp
Dave's is a quaint little spot in Evanston. While the quality of the food is good (nothing insanely special I'd argue), the portions and prices make it absolutely worth it. Lots of great classic options done well. I think it's leaps and bounds ahead of Trattoria Demi, so if you're between the two local Italian spots in Evanston I'd recommend Dave's to be on your list.

Sharee M.

Yelp
I love this place! Lasagna, cheese and meat was the dish I got. It was toooo yummy! The dish was fresh made, cheesy and a delight. I love the portion as it was not too much. I had the restaurant yet to myself on a hot day as I was the first customer in the shop. However, they were busy taking pick ups from the start of the day. I knew I had come to the right place. The staff was very nice and pleasant. It would have nice to have music playing but that's OK. They serve free bread as well before your meal. Love it here, stop by and try.

Alexis G.

Yelp
I ordered fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. I got 10 tiny cubes of gross tasting chicken. I had to throw it out.

Yelp
[Dave's New Kitchen] Local small Italian restaurant in Evanston This place was small was jammed packed so you know this is a local favorite. Recommend to us by our friends Ordered the Pasta Bolognese but I subbed the pasta for ravioli, also ordered the Pasta Rosé, Garlic Bread with Mozzarella, and of course can't forget about dessert with the Tiramisu cake Everything was so good, so flavorful and most of all super insanely filling. I had like 3 ravioli and I was full. Those things were packed with cheese. The pasta rosé was good but I personally think alfredo is very heavy in general so I get filled so fast. The tiramisu was good not too sweet. Most of all importantly this was good food for relatively cheap pricing so definitely well worth it. 8.5/10 I wanted to get a picture with Dave to complete the food review but he was in the kitchen last time so I didn't get one. https://www.davesnewkitchen.com/_files/ugd/985e0b_c778ffcc073846869b6f07c7f48cde70.pdf 815 Noyes St Evanston, IL 60201

Yelp
Good local place in Evanston. Every time we have been there it's mostly locals Vs students. However i think it's students waiting tables. The food is really good. If you want leftovers get the large calzones. The service is why this place gets 4 stars. The last time there the waiter was literally asking what the tip was so he could figure out the bill. Like the guy is paying in cash just bring him his change .... Just strange. Food makes up for the weirdness but pay with a card.

Aaron K.

Yelp
OK, although a cute neighborhood location, this place does not merit a 4.5. Portions are large and sharable, but my wife's dish was drenched in olive oil and under seasoned and my eggplant entrée was raw; we were told that it was indeed cooked (not). Sauce, again under seasoned and not a place as Italian foodies, we would recommend.

Dottie S.

Yelp
Tonight was our first visit to Dave's. Service and friendliness topnotch! I ordered the firecracker chicken which is my new favorite dish in all of Evanston! They dI'd NOT skimp on the chicken which was perfectly tender. Vegies fresh and cooked just right. Sauce had a nice kick but did not overwhelm the dish. Truly amazing dining event.

Yelp
My husband and I had been wanting to come here since we moved to Chicago in late 2020. For a long time, they only did pickups, but now they have table service (9 or so tables). The ambience here is really pleasant: warm lighting and paintings of musicians on the walls. Staff is friendly. It was very busy on a Friday night, so if they forgot to bring out salad plates, you just asked them and they brought them right away. EVERYTHING here is homemade, including the bread and salad dressings. The Italian salad looked and tasted very fresh, and we chose the Italian vinaigrette which featured herbs and grated cheese... a fantastic start. Nice bread too. My husband was very happy with his lasagna with sausage and added meatball, and I liked my gluten-free pizza, especially the toppings, marinara sauce and ricotta cheese. It's tough to find a really tasty gluten-free pizza crust - there aren't many ingredient options... Spacca Napoli probably has the tastiest GF crust in town, but I don't think it's 100% GF. In any case, the toppings and sauce of the pizza here at Dave's were great. We came here to celebrate a double birthday, and mentioned this to them. As a surprise, they brought out a lovely chocolate mousse for us to share. With our table right by the big window, we had such a great experience. With salad, main courses and two glasses of wine, we paid about $60, which felt very reasonable for the quality.

Yelp
The sauces are to die for it's delicious. The portions are big the meatballs are delicious. Nothing in this place gives me heartburn bread is good. The waitress is perfect. Tiramisu is delicious. This place is really good. It's very reasonable very good and I recommend it if you don't wanna go eat in, they do take out, it's really delicious Italian for the money

Michele C.

Yelp
Stopped in for a very late lunch on a rainy day. Ordered a pumpkin soup and the carbonara. Pumpkin soup was delicious. The carbonara, although not the best I've had, was satisfying and came with a huge portion!! They give complementary bread, although I had to ask my server for it vs. being offered it. Overall the meal came out to be under $25 - which is a great deal for that much food.

Bridget M.

Yelp
Love Dave's!!!!!! Reasonably priced, easy for pickup, good portions, tasty food, and can pretty much customize any pasta dish you order. This is more of a takeout place, but there are a couple tables to sit and eat at if you'd rather eat there. I've gotten two different pasta dishes and have loved them both. Cute little family-owned place with nice customer service and pickup is QUICK. See you again soon, Dave's!

Amy W.

Yelp
I have been going to Dave's for 48 years! I LOVE IT! And now my 22 year old daughter loves it! Such a cool place.

Charlie R.

Yelp
Went there for the first time this evening. The four dollar dinner salad was twice as much as I could eat as was the meatball sandwich. I thought they missed the order and delivered me to giant meatball sandwiches with mozzarella cheese and homemade marinara sauce. Reasonable Feng old style family restaurant. They also have pizza. Enjoy. https://www.davesnewkitchen.com/

Yelp
We were customers for 50 years, starting at Three Doors Down. We recently learned Dave's has seating at the Noyes Street location. I was in heaven last nigh, enjoying the spinach-ricotta cheese pie (pictured below). The shortbread-like crust and light lemon sauce are incredible. My wife enjoyed the lasagna with meat. Its red sauce is excellent. Thanks, Dave, for adding seating. We WILL be back!

Andrea C.

Yelp
Delicious food and kind service! Highly recommend and will be definitely coming back soon.

Ari G.

Yelp
This places is a great place... On Thursday I spent my time here, I ordered Minestrone soup and Chicken Vesala... yum yum yum... besides the food, the waitress was very attentive ... the bill ended up at 22.xx very good price at so much food.

Dylan H.

Yelp
I'm very glad that Dave (and his family) decided to give it another go... the place feels like the original location (albeit not underneath the train tracks). Everything I have had here is fantastic - from the pizza to the lasagna to the pastas... you can't go wrong. Small place, Not a lot of seating, but worth the trip (and the wait if it's busy).

J L.

Yelp
The service was not bad. I got the PESTO HOMEMADE GREEN PAPPARDELLE with shrimp it was good but oily.

Super R.

Yelp
We ordered takeout online from Dave's this evening. I had the pesto pasta with chicken. By far, it was THE WORST tasting pesto I've ever had in my life. Disgustingly oily (I had to drain the excess olive oil from the container) & gross unidentifiable taste. We're not sure which herb they used to make the pesto. It did not taste like basil at all. Maybe it was parsley...? 100% terrible. I ate the over-fried chicken fillets and dumped the pasta. $18 for nothing. Stick with the marinara if you order from here.

Lord Of T.

Yelp
Bottom line, it's not good. They don't know how to make pasta! They WAY OVER COOK IT. Beyond that, there are a variety of other problems with the food but it's not worth spelling-out in detail. If you'd like to make yourself upset, sure go there.

Seo Young M.

Yelp
Decent Italian place in Evanston. I only had a chance to try their pasta, and specifically the chicken parmesan and 'make your own pasta.' The chicken in the chicken parmesan was definitely crispy and would be loved by people who'd prefer that over a softer type of chicken parmesan. The meatball added in the other pasta felt a bit bland, but it may go well with the marinara sauce more. Overall, the pasta portions was quite big and will make at least two meals for me!

Katie K.

Yelp
Hands down my favorite mom and pop homemade Italian food for going on 43 years! We've been a regular through all of the different locations and changes. We get very excited when we sit down and dig into their delicious Italian salad with the most out of the world creamy garlic dressing, their ever so tasty eggplant Parmesan, their spinach pie, their fabulous bread, their homemade green spinach noodles! I can go on and on. We now live in California but whenever we visit our hometown, we ALWAYS make a point of stopping at our beloved Dave's!

Grant S.

Yelp
We absolutely love Dave's New Kitchen! The best Italian food in Evanston, without question! We recently gave Dave's a try after avoiding it due to high prices. However, once we finally tried it, we realized that the portions and the quality make the prices well worth it! Everything about Dave's is great! I've had everything from pasta, lasagna, chicken Parmesan, and the massive calzones and everything is absolutely amazing! As mentioned before, the quality of products and the portion sizes are a real highlight! Also, there are so many options between pasta toppings, sauce style, and noodle options! My favorite sauce is the meat sauce! The service and servers are always kind and attentive! Also, the food comes quickly which is great! They also always have plenty of beverage sections from wines to a variety of beers from Sketchbook Brewery! A lot of their service is to-go, so the seating space is pretty limited. For my partner and I, it is always simple getting two people in! But, for larger groups, expect a bit of a wait. But it's worth it! Be sure to check out Dave's! You won't be disappointed!

Sona B.

Yelp
The food was amazing! We had the Chicken with mushrooms, the salmon & the pasta with Alioli. We shared all three dishes and they were delicious. This is the 4th Italian restaurant we tried in Evanston and By FAR this is the best Italian food we have had. The food tastes so fresh and homemade! The flavors were amazing. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars was that our waitress was not super friendly or helpful. But she was fine. Also the place could use a little bit of decor and sprucing up. But ultimately who cares when the food is that good!!! Go! It's so great! Hats off to the chef(s).

Tyler L.

Yelp
Summary: Mediocre food that's affordable and great if you're craving Italian food. Unfortunately they aren't doing in-person dining so I ended up ordering take out with my friend. The food was ready on time and the person handing me my order was friendly. I ended up ordering the Carbonara which turned out to be a bit "chunky" and not as creamy as I would have liked. Also it would have been nice if there was another topping other than bacon. Noodles were slightly overcooked. Despite this, I can't complain too much as there are extremely limited Italian spots near campus in Evanston; however, I would still only recommend this place over store bought Italian pasta if you're really craving Italian food and don't mind the drop in quality for the convenience and relatively low price.

Martim L.

Yelp
Really good food. Also affordable. Pizza & pasta are great. Staff are friendly and professional.

Dirk R.

Yelp
Alfredo sauce tasted like flour & water put quickly together. No salt. Diabolo was tons of garlic w/ little pasta. No salt. Meat-sauce came as tomato sauce without any meat. Didn't expect meat balls, but some meat would have been nice. If anything, Pizza was ok. If you are hungry, it's probably fine. But nothing for a nice Friday night dinner that we were hoping for.

Yelp
Dave's New Kitchen on Noyes Avenue is the replacement for Dave's Italian Kitchen which closed earlier this year. I've only been here once for takeout and I just love their food! In fact, it's my favorite go to for casual Italian in the area! It's mid-range affordable (with entrees ranging from $10-18). Most of all, you can tell that they put a lot of heart and soul into their meals; especially their Chicken Parmesan! Their pastas are fresh and cooked al dente. Plus, the tomato sauces are full of rich organic flavor. My favorite here is the Chicken Parmesan with rigatoni in rose sauce. It's a hearty meal that can be split between two people. The meatballs are the size of tennis balls and although not my favorite, were good. If your dining in, know that the space is not well suited for large crowds. In fact, the restaurant is very small (holding roughly 15-20) at max. On busy days, they can fill up very quickly! Since I live in the area, and didn't want to wait forever for a table, I opted to do take out instead. Dave's is easily accessible by train and is a short 5 minute walk east from the Noyes Purple line. You could drive it by car although parking is mainly street side and metered.

Chris P.

Yelp
Not since the "Before Times" had we enjoyed food at Dave's, but last night's carry out was just as good as I remember my past experiences. Also, the people there were just as great--really thoughtful about what they do and how they treat their customers. We had a large calzone with Sausage, Pepperoni, Tomato Sauce & Mozzarella, which was very tasty and filling, and also the Eggplant Extravaganza, which we both loved--it was especially tasty, and brimming with freshly cooked veggies and a nice bold tomato sauce (we forgot to ask to leave out the sausage--they have always been very accommodating with that and other menu variation requests). The other thing we normally do (& just forgot this time) is to order a side of meatball/sauce, which is also tasty & reasonably priced. Next time we'll try the calzone with Spinach, Zucchini, Crimini Mushroom, Tomato, Tomato Sauce & Mozzarella---hoping that also is still as delicious as we remember from years past. While the 'dine-in' ambience apparently wasn't as it used to be, our carry-out experience was as good as before, and the hardworking cooks appeared to have kept doing their thing for all those folks needing a tasty Italian dinner at the end of the day.

Prin P.

Yelp
I must update my previous review of Dave's. After my initial review, I received a lovely note from Dave G. apologizing that the Google and Yelp listings had not been updated to reflect that the restaurant is not currently accommodating dine-in customers and has been, for now, converted to take-out or delivery only. As someone from the northwest suburbs there's no way I would have known this unless I had read a statement on the business's website or been a frequent follower on Facebook, neither of which occurred. At any rate, the miscommunication has been cleared and remedied for me and anyone else who might stumble upon the Google listing and decide to drop by. Dave updated both Google and Yelp the day after my review. He was also was very gracious and understanding about the frustration I expressed and I offered my apologies as well for assuming him arrogant to only be catering to those who live close by and know the setup. Quite the opposite is true, Dave is very humble and really appreciates his loyal customers who have supported him and kept him opened during these uncertain times. I regret not extending that same grace in the midst of my frustration at not being able to dine-in. I learned a valuable lesson - that we could all benefit from extending each other more grace and understanding during this difficult season as we all adapt to new normals. Thanks Dave for being so kind. I will try again when I can do take-out or if dining outside becomes an option.

Richard Y.

Yelp
We were here for the first time since the move from the Italian Kitchen location. Parking is slightly earlier to find and the place is super cozy so be prepared for loudness and close quarters. Aside from that, the food is just as excellent and the casual service very good. The variety is solid as are the prices. Made from scratch = delicious! We'll probably get carry out next time.

Ashverya S.

Yelp
This is a great Italian place right next to Northwestern's campus. Really high quality food and I was so surprised at the end after I had ordered so many different things that the total had come out so low. I ordered the green pappardelle with marinara, and asked if I could get pesto on the side. I wasn't expecting much pesto to be given, but they gave me a whole bowl for only $2 extra. The pasta may look odd because it's so green but honestly it tastes as great as regular pasta. I also felt healthy (probably shouldn't since my entire meal was carbs) eating it because it's made out of spinach. I ordered the chocolate mousse for dessert, which I somehow managed to finish in less than 2 minutes without even realizing it because it was so good. I got a minestrone soup to go which was also delicious the next day. I'm vegetarian and had so many options here. I also thought the service was very friendly and particularly the young waitress was very helpful and sweet! Will definitely come back next time I'm in town!

Amy H.

Yelp
Dave's has an awesome location close to Northwestern, and it's almost always super packed for dinner. My friend and I walked in around 7pm on a Friday night, and we had to wait for about 15 minutes to get seated. The prices are not bad, but if you want to make your pasta more interesting and add meats/veggies, it can get a little pricy. But the portion is really generous, and I alway have leftovers and can usually get 2 meals out of one order. And free bread! I ordered carbonara with fettuccini and added shrimp. I've always felt their food is bland, but the tables are equipped with salt, pepper, cheese, etc. so that's something I can adjust according to my taste. I was overall very pleased with the pasta; it had a lot of sauce, a lot of bacon, and a lot of good flavors. They have a drink menu but you can do BYOB if you want (with a small corkage fee, I think $5?). D & D is a small convenience store that's seconds away from Dave's and they have a pretty good selection of wines and other types of alcohol. I can tell that they tried to fit as many tables as possible in the small space they have, so it's definitely a little awkward to walk around or feel intimate with your company. I know circulation is important for restaurants, but I've definitely felt the staff wanting me to order fast, eat fast, and leave fast during previous visits.

Lori H.

Yelp
I have been a fan of Dave's Italian Kitchen since they opened in the late 70's. My go to then and still now is their Eggplant Parm with marinara sauce and a side salad with the creamy garlic dressing. 40 years since I first had it and it is just as good as ever and has stayed very true to the original. Consistency is what it's all about! Bread is different but hey-the bread is not the reason I come here and while different it is still good. Portions are large and easily is 2 meals.

Katie W.

Yelp
We emailed Dave and he did a large order for our team and it was amazing l! So easy to work with and the food was amazing and a lot of food for hungry athletes! I would go back in a second! So good!

Jess T.

Yelp
I'll start off by saying that I have no doubt Dave's kitchen (old or new) has its regulars, who love the place and come with their friends and will hopefully bring them steady business for many years to come. Local places are getting harder to come by. However, I have to say that the food wasn't up to scratch for me. I'm always okay with a smaller menu as long as the food is good. However, our fried calamari app was a little rubbery and overcooked and my carbonara was a letdown: it's made with cream - I can live with that since we aren't in the glorious pasta heaven that is Italy, and it can still be tasty made with cream; but the sauce was lumpy and just lacked flavour- it tasted like flour. There were sliced onions, too, amidst the pasta, and they just didn't belong in the dish. The cheese ravioli in pesto sauce that my husband ordered was decent. And the service was great, I couldn't fault it at all. With regret, I don't think I'll be back.

Jass C.

Yelp
Went in on a hot sunny day for lunch Portion is big and service is good The green pappardelle does not have al dente texture but all else is good Really loved the rosé sauce. It's a mixture of red and white sauce, just the right amount of saltiness and flavorful And there's this chicken pasta I forgot the name of it. It has fried chicken breast rolled with bacon. Amazing taste but a lil bit too salty I love the vibe of the place. It's filled with people fully dressed (almost like Sicilian mafia ) and police officers. A major turnaround from campus vibe in Northwestern

Jody B.

Yelp
Hubby and went to Dave's OLD place when it was on Church street across from The Dominick's Grocery store!!!! I was sad to see the one on Chicago Ave close and happy they moved here. I've been here several times for lunch, not dinner. It's a great winter place for lunch. And their food items that they have on the menu are the same as the old place. They don't have all the choices, but they have enough for a "Dave's fix". The place is small, but I think that was the point of them moving/closing the old place. Dave's has their "fans" like me... and those that are not fans... so I guess it's good for us fans that they re-opened and have room enough for us loyal patrons. :-)

Bonita J.

Yelp
Dave's never disappoints! We picked up carry out! Hot ,delicious, lasagna and eggplant Parmesan! And the best Italian salad !!!It was fresh and beautiful!!! (Boy I have hadsome terrible carry out salads I won't mention there names!!) You have to try this salad it was so fresh !!!!

Gerry G.

Yelp
Dave's deserves an update. I've now eaten here a few times since our first bad experience. I'm glad we returned, because Dave's seems to be back in the swing of things. The food and service have been reliably good. Prices are still quite reasonable for what you get. Most entrees are $12-14, you can get a generous side salad for $3, and a nice glass of wine for $5. They have a few outdoor tables, and the street ambiance is actually quite nice in the new neighborhood. I also believe they've worked on the acoustics so it isn't quite as loud as it used to be. They thankfully dumped the tacky tableside credit card reader and use a traditional receipt so the server isn't sitting over your shoulder while you uncomfortably tip. Service still isn't ideal, but I want to give Dave's some love because of the improvement and everything else is so good.

Shin L.

Yelp
Here's the break down: I got the parmesan chicken 1. Service here is amazing. Feels right at home. The service is great and it truly feels like a homemade place. 2. The portions are big. Easily get two serving out of one. 3. The prices are okay. I paid $14+tip+tax for a meal. For pasta, it isn't cheap. 4. The food is okay. It tastes like the pasta I make at home. I guess it's truly "homemade". But I'm no cook. 5. Free bread! Overall, I would recommend this place to someone looking for anywhere to eat. I wouldn't take someone who is visiting here or for a special occasion. Maybe just to grab a meal with a friend.

Lea R.

Yelp
What a relief that a local restaurant as beloved as Dave's Italian Kitchen should get a second chance as Dave's New Kitchen. This restaurant is northwest of the old Dave's location, a convenient block away from the Noyes Purple Line train stop. This location is significantly smaller, probably not even a quarter as big as before, and has quite a clean and simple decor. Seating wasn't a problem the times I visited, but if it gets busy, it'd probably fill up pretty fast. I'd actually only been to the old Dave's a handful of times over the years, so my memories of the food are pretty hazy, but my friend who's a long-time fan says that the spaghetti and marinara sauce tastes almost exactly the same -- perhaps even a touch better -- although he was disappointed by a significant change in the taste of their meatballs. The complimentary bread, though simpler than it used to be, is very good. The salads are a great value, both inexpensive and full of high quality veggies. I tried the calzone and really enjoyed it. It was a little greasy, but the toppings were cooked well with a good texture -- cheese melted but peppers still crunchy and all that jazz. The marinara sauce was incredible and just the right balance of sweet and tomato-y, without either element overpowering the other. The portions were generous and everyone at my table was full before we could finish our entrees This was a very pleasant experience and, given the opportunity, I'd definitely return to try the pasta next time I'm in town.

Yelp
We had a delicious meal here on a rainy Sunday night. We arrived about 45 minutes before closing, but our party of four were seated promptly. We were also lucky enough to nab a metered parking spot directly in front. The space is cozy so I personally wouldn't recommend a group bigger than 4 unless you call ahead to see how busy they are. But we did see a group of 6 in there so it's certainly possible. I personally really liked the signs of inclusivity around the restaurant and the decor. It made me feel welcome and happy. For dinner we shared a Caesar salad, garlic spinach, a meatball, pizza, and a pasta carbonara. Everything we tried was incredibly delicious. The pasta carbonara, while not traditional, was so tasty we finished the entire plate. The service was warm and friendly and Dave himself came out to say hello to us. I left completely stuffed and I can't wait to come back and try more.

Yelp
This dinner place was okay. I'm not a huge Italian food fan so I might not be the best judge of it, but for me this place was just okay. The setting is cute. It's really small and cozy. It feels like a local restaurant that's for sure. I tried the pasta carbonara with the extra protein pasta. It was, well, weird. The pasta felt really gummy and I just wasn't super excited eating this pasta. Also, the dish wasn't very saucy. Maybe that's just the style of carbonara but I could have sworn I had saucier dishes in the past. The bacon was okay, not particularly crispy. Not sure I'd come back anytime soon.

Yelp
What a gem! Had an early dinner with my boyfriend at Dave's New Kitchen on Sunday. It's a small, cozy restaurant serving Italian food such as pizza, pasta and other dishes. The server immediately brought us a bread basked which is always a plus in my book! To drink, I ordered a glass of the cab which paired well with my pasta dish - and it was only $5. I ordered the green pappardelle which was a fettuccine made with spinach. I added the aglio e oli sauce (olive oil, romano cheese & garlic), calamari and mushrooms. The green pappardelle noodles are very green! The dish was very good and the portion was big enough for me to take home and basically have a second meal. I'm very happy we tried this restaurant! The pasta is inexpensive (~$9) if you don't add a bunch of meats, sauces and veggies. I tend to get pasta cravings quite often so I plan to keep Dave's in mind.

Yelp
Having been wanting to try this place out for a while because of the good things I've heard from friends, I finally visited here two days ago. I have to say I really enjoyed my meal. My friend and I came here at 6:15 pm and we got seated at window right away (lucky us ). Both of us ordered a pasta dish because we were super hungry and we loved them. The food is very simple: mine was spaghetti with maybe their own special source ( can't remember the name but it had jalapeno in it). The source had just the right amount of tomato and jalapeno that I think balanced well. The amount of food was larger than our usual meal (two asian ladies') but both of us finished the food and bread on that day. The price was reasonable (~$11 for my pasta). I saw some customers at another table ordered balsamic chicken which looked delicious too. Must come back again!

Yelp
Had dinner Saturday night at Dave's for the first time. We walked in and were immediately greeted, and seated. Service was attentive and very nice. I had the balsamic chicken without the peppers, and additional mushrooms. My daughter had homemade green pappardelle with the rose sauce. The portions were generous and the food was delicious. Definitely will be returning.

Yelp
Haven't gotten food yet but here's my two cents: -the bread tastes like a child mixed wheat and water and their parents congratulated them on a job well done. -the bread needs salt--and fast. -lowkey miss DMK **they asked for a party count when we entered and I was all like "can't you just eyeball?" ***they don't have vodka sauce but they have "something similar"
