Meh. It's a good looking establishment, but there's no vibe. This may or may not be related, but I've never (even in 2025) seen a bartender just glued to his cell phone like I saw today.

I got charged regular $13, went a few weeks ago and I got 2×1... They don't respect happy hour... I told the bartender that why so much...she said that was from last year Not true I went this year and she charged me 2×1 went around 11 p.m twice It's written in there menu, went on Tuesday

A true jewel in the Jewel City for those that appreciate what it means to be a locals bar.

LET ME SAY- Hands down the best pastrami/ corned beef ive EVER had! Thats coming from a guy that grew up at the hat and a time when TOGOS was good. I had just come in town from LA the asian gentlemen who took my order told me this was the best item, I was apprehensive. But all doubt was put aside with the first bite. AMAZING

I've been coming to this bar for about 5 years. When I first started coming here, it was a life saver to me. I was new to California. I met many local amazing musicians. In the past, Dave's offered live entertainment, open mic nights and karaoke. I sang with bands and was blessed to sing on a couple different albums. I have mixed feelings now about coming here. It's extremely convenient for me but several visits to karaoke has left me with a feeling of disappointment and emptiness. I know that late in the night, the bar gets new young blood and they want to cater to them, but when I arrive at 11:00 with only a few names on the list, buy a couple, three drinks and get to sing one song around 1:00 a.m., I feel I have wasted money and time. Tonight, I heard a couple other people complaining similar stories. Maybe Dave's doesn't need the neighborhood standbys anymore. I certainly don't see the regular faces I use to see. That being said, the bartender is awesome and newcomers seem to enjoy themselves. "The times, they are a changing."

My experience with Dave’s bar has been a really great experience. Amy, the bartender was really nice and willing to drop what she was doing to help me. The people at the bar were really nice as well. Overall my experience has been a memorable experience that I will not forget. I plan to go back soon.

Dave’s is a great place in which to stop for a drink break when shopping. Great Irish coffee in a beautiful bar with a wall jukebox — miss the regular jukebox, nonetheless, stop by for a Charles Bukowski upscale cocktail. To all my friends! Gabriel is s great bartender. Love this Glendale bar.

Been coming here for 7 years!!!. Sarah is was thee best bartender!!!. Chris is great as well. Some of thee new bartenders we have met thus far are great as well. My only concern that I would say for owners managers and bartenders coming to this location for the last eight years in general is whether their security entrance or not people that are 86th or too drunk with the bartenders, realize it or not kicked out or not they sneak in through the side back alley for the patio to the side door by the bathroom and they get away with coming in and locking themselves in the bathroom or starting drama because they're 86 or not because nobody's watching the back alley Entrance plus the front entryway to except we've seen somebody who was 86 and talking in the bathroom and when we left, he was fully exposed in pee on David's building right next to the entrance door after being kicked out we come in three times at least per month or every other month and we encounter this sometimes bartenders are on it sometimes they're not security or not. Only one side is being washed and I'm not OK with that.

Lexie is the best bartender! I look forward to visiting Dave's every night to see her!

Terrible service overpriced drinks, and they discriminate people based on their sexuality. I was treated badly because I said I am a straight man. I went into this place with an open mind after I saw a giant LGBT flag hanging outside of the business, but I was not treated with the same open-mindedness. I'm not sure why they are so obsessed with sexuality. Just sell me a beer.

First off I come here every once in a awhile I heard people say don't go back because they have new staff and let me start off by saying give them a chance Bryce was our bartender for the night he was new and can I just say so nice so sweet very attentive. He made sure we were taken care of the whole night. I had a bottle service set up with Criss his communication was on point answered all my questions it exceeded my expectations and they even added balloons as a nice touch my best friend loved his bday celebration and we will definitely be hosting some bdays again here. It is a dive bar which is what I was looking for it's small but welcoming.

My wife and I have gone to Dave's on and off for the past two years. We absolutely love the vibe karaoke drinks, and just being able to hang out after a long day. Best part about coming is the bartender Sara she made our first time a couple years back very welcoming and memorable and we've been coming back and are happy when we get to see her, I hope she truly knows that she always puts a smile on her face when we leave

Fuuuuuuuck Dave's! I WILL NEVER BE BACK! Super rude bar tender. The young lady who was working the bar didn't even look my friend and I in the eyes. There was a beer sitting at the bar in front of an empty stool. My buddy tried to move it, but was scolded by the bartender when he did so. The gentleman took our order & our two beers, came out to 10 bucks. Our beers being cheap is about the only redeeming quality that Dave's has. Old head atmosphere, schizophrenic playlist, and one pool table. Dusty and outdated. Major skip for anybody born after 1990! Oh, and not to mention, parking sucks at Dave's too. Their little lot filled up, and then this dude just leaves his car, in the way.

I have fond memories of Dave's. Every Thursday I would show up with my sax and try to hitch a 5 minute ride with talented guitar players and song writers. Criss kept us happy with just the right pace of pints and shots. But please Yelp managers, update your website. Dave's has not hosted an open-mic night since Covid took its toll in 2020 . But you still categorize Dave as an open-mic venue based on this review from 2011: "Every night is something different - karaoke, cover bands, open mic - and the pool table is free on..."

UPDATE 6/5 They fired Gabe and Sarah, replaced them with younger bartenders. Never coming back here again

The best bar and Bartenders in Glendale!!! Sarah,Gabe,and Criss are great,friendly, courteous!!! I highly recommend this bar!!!

My wife and I stopped here last week for a couple of drinks. Gabe made the best Old Fashioned we have ever had. Gabe suggested a fantastic restaurant in the area that we really loved. Great service. We will be back for sure

I was here last night with a couple of my friends for a girls night out. I have been before, though I'm not a local, one of my friends lives nearby. We all like it, good atmosphere. Gabe was working and he's a great bartender, always really friendly and makes great drinks! No fuss, just great service and nice and small with a pool table.

Dave's on Broadway is my favorite bar in Glendale! The bartenders are all amazing, Sarah is a sweetheart, Chris is always full of fascinating insights into the movie world while he pours my favorite drinks. And Gabe! What an incredible human; personable, efficient, friendly, and always willing to share his extensive song list and experiences in and of the music industry! I recommend Dave's for a short drop-in or a long night of carousing. And they have pool, popcorn and even karaoke on special nights!

I love Dave's! Criss is the best! I really dig the remodel but Criss is the secret weapon. Best bartender. The local crowd is so down to earth. Karaoke is fun and a great non judgmental atmosphere. Not to mention pool!! Never a dull moment at Dave's!

Best damn dive bar I've been in for years. Bar none, pun intended. Don't be rude just sit down at the bar and enjoy the local crew of regulars. Love this place.

Stop in Dave's for special cocktail or a beer. Reasonable prices , fun crowd, the best Staff. Sarah is my favorite; she is totally on top of things and gives you her immediate attention, as soon as you walk through the door. she is friendly, happy and makes you feel comfortable. 5 stars for Sarah! they open up at 3:00, but I sure wish it opened earlier.

This place wouldn't be the vibe and capture what I need in a neighborhood bar if it wasn't for SARAH!! never met a bartender that can carry multiple conversations, remember everyone's name, get up on the karaoke mic with the patron and still get her job done. she literally completes my experience at Dave's love the bar but it's definitely SARAH for me. she's the B E S T! any bar would be lucky to her she's the life of the party...from behind the bar lol

I recently wanted to try a local bar after work, I have passed Dave's many times so I finally stopped by! Being a younger woman I sometimes have trouble finding bars that I feel comfortable in, lucky for me Sarah was working. She immediately made me feel welcome, safe and comfortable. We had a lovely conversation and she is now my favorite bartender ever! If you go to Dave's on Broadway and Sarah is bartending, I promise you will love her too Thanks for everything girl!

Passed by this little bar here in Glendale called Dave's. It was pretty cool. They've got a juke box to listen to and couple of TVs with sports and old time black and white films going on. Not really any food, except for dogs and popcorn. The pool table was nice for a couple of games. The bartender Sarah was awesome. I don't drink anything fancy, but what I ordered, she prepared perfectly. And, she was cool to talk with.

I like coming here the service from Sarah the bartender is amazing she is always on top of if I need anything refills or whatever. I enjoy playing pool there and I will keep coming back because Sarah is the best bartender around!!!

I have been coming to Dave's regularly since 2015, and these days usually go once or twice a week. It's only gotten better over the years, and me and my partner love to come when Sarah is working--she's funny, outgoing, makes great drinks and always makes everyone feel welcome. I love bringing my friends here and even hosting parties at Dave's--there's nowhere else in Glendale I'd rather go! Drink specials and happy hour are great and affordable too.

Have been coming here for years and Gabriel is the absolute BEST!!! I miss the fart smells and the free hotdogs but seeing Gabriel makes it all worth while. Always the best service and excellent vibes

The ultimate Glendale dive bar, right across the street from Jewel City Bowl. Go throw some stones and then end up at DAVES for fun people great staff and maybe even some karaoke.

good spot...classic locations and invested style....many deals possibly struck up here and broken...Buy your goods.......Enjoy...and bring or at least tell a friend about good locale happening spot..

Very friendly bartenders. Great to chat with. Great conversationalists. I learn something new almost every time I go. Good neighborhood dive bar. Pool table with pretty decent players. AMI jukebox. The main drawback for me is the karaoke. It used to be on only twice a week on designated nights, but since COVID they've loosened this policy and now they allow karaoke whenever someone asks for it. Parking can be a drag, too.

Long overdue poor review for this terrible place. Four people in the bar on a late night. Had to endure two girls singing karaoke during my visit. Offered one guy a few games a pool and he obliged. Then after buying him beers and paying for a few games of pool he took issue that I was wearing a mask. I explained to him that my cousin died a few days prior because of COVID and I had a newborn at home. Then the bartenders told me to leave.

Love this bar. Good drinks good people. The bartenders Chris, Sarah and Gabe are amazing and super friendly and make drinks. Karaoke is embarrassing when I do it but super fun. Sunday happy hour all day is brilliant.

Women, please be aware. This is mostly an old guys bar. I moved out to this area two months ago, and I've been here two times since my move. Both times, I've encountered the same bartender with long hair. There is a man who works here on weekdays as a bartender. His name is Gabriel (what he told me). I left work after a long day and came into this bar for my 2nd (and last time) and saw Gabriel? at the bar. I smiled at him and I asked him "How are you?" To which he said coldly "I'm good. What are you getting?" I got a drink and as soon as he made the drink, he asked "Open or close?" I said "I'm not sure yet." to which he said "I need an answer. Open or close. You can't not be sure" and continued to stand and stare. I asked him if they take apple pay. To which he responded, "No, we don't do that.. Card or cash only." I said, "Ok, let me look for my card in my bag". At that point he said, "ok". And stood right in front of me while I searched for my card and stared for the whole minute I looked for my card. He stood and stared like I was going to run away with the drink he made and made me feel so uncomfortable. I said "I'm getting uncomfortable by you staring. I haven't even touched my drink and I will not. Let me look for my card". To which he said, and I quote this, "I am not mad at you. I just need you to pay for your drink": I found my card. I paid for my drink and tipped cash to this man. While I was searching for my card, I said "I really hope that you are not mad at someone who has not done anything and is trying to bring business to your place". He seemed annoyed said "I just really need you to pay".. And he continued to stare at me. Once I paid, I asked for his name. He ignored me and he went over two chairs to two people sitting down from me (his locals) and said "This bitch. Did you hear her? She wants to get my name" And the two people sitting down said "You have nothing to fear!!" And they giggled like 5 year olds and talked gibberish that I couldn't hear. I have never felt so uncomfortable at a bar in my life. And I've never been verbally abused like this in my life. I am shocked they have someone so sick working here. I now understand as to why the two times I've been here, only older men come here. People you hire make or break the place. It's all energy. Unfortunately, this place maybe the oldest bar in all of Glendale, but it is broken from the inside. It's sad.

Unexpectedly, Dave's was the perfect spot for my 40th birthday countdown night. It was meant to be, apparently. HUGE shoutout to our bartender, Pablo. Thanks again, Pablo. Seriously. You made my/Barbara's night without even knowing it was direly needed at the time. Very glad we came in on a whim. Definitely worth poppin' in for a drink(or several)!!

Inside. Small and dark! Definitely not Covid safe. I'm surprised this place even still exists. I came here randomly bar hopping and I don't think I'll be back. I got a Jameson on the rocks and either the ice was already melting or what because it really tasted watered down.

I am not a bar goer, BUT THIS PLACE IS WONDERFUL! I can't stress this enough. I have been here 5 times now and I can't say enough about this place. The entire staff is super chill and friendly. The ambience here is lovely. The patrons are really neat too. I have met two different bartenders here Chris and Sarah and they are nice and on top of things, GREAT mixologists. I can't stress this enough about them! The karaoke station is bomb. This self serve concept is really cool. I have never seen this before. The restrooms are CLEAN as well as the rest of the bar. Security is polite and doesn't mad dog people. The place in and of itself has plenty of character. If you like neighborhood bars that are clean and classy THIS IS YOUR SPOT. I am sold and will be a loyal customer even if I have to drive 20 minutes to get here! TYVM!!!!

It's always a great time at Dave's! The bartenders are awesome and there's karaoke every day. There is an awesome KJ from Thursday-Saturday starting at 9pm-close. The crowd is very chill and of all ages. Give it a shot!

We had a blast singing karaoke and making new friends at Dave's. We randomly popped in after yelping a local karaoke bar. It feels like a little Midwest hole in the wall and reminded me of home. The bartenders were great and everyone seemed like they were there to have a good time. No pretense , no fluff just a good down home bat!

Great local spot for drinks and pool! It's usually packed on Fridays & Saturday' s for karaoke. Free pool & hot dogs on Sundays (on a small pool table & there's only one table but never a long wait), karaoke on Wednesdays, Friday's & Saturdays, 80s & electronic music DJ on Sundays, free pizza & pool on Mondays, live band music on Tuesday, and open mic music Wednesdays. The bartender is awesome and staff are always nice. I really love Sunday night electronic music night! It's a dive bar but 4 stars for awesome staff & DJ and always having a clean bathroom.

I hadn't even left the establishment when I got so deathly ill from the food that I was stuck in the bathroom for about 20 minutes. This guy Peter, manager maybe? called me a liar and told me I was just trying to get out of paying the bill. J love most doce bars but this place is, pardon my French, a total Sh*thole.

Best bartender around Sara is awesome and takes care of you. Super attentive and is on top of it. Good local dive spot the regulars are super cool once you get to know them.

Laura Jean was phenomenal.... My first time here and she was so sweet...so friendly, so welcoming and so informative...gave us the history of the bar...she even sat with us while we played pool and totally made us feel at home....the old fashions with bullet bourbon whiskey were great!!! Jeff was indeed welcoming and provided pizza and hot dogs for the taking.... WHAT BAR provides this??? beats that?? Ummm... None!!! The ambiance was great and I will definitely be back!! Cheers my friends!!!

I'm gonna give it on a dive bar rating: 4 stars. I enjoyed my first time there. Prices were reasonable; Victoria the bartender that night was awesome and chill, Meg the Karaoke MC was entertaining. The have Amber Brock on Tab, and Fat Tire, along with the Budweiser and light Bud. Light snacks available. I can't say nothing bad about this place. I want to come here on different hours now just to hang out. I'll definitely stop by if I'm in the Area. And you can't miss it; being on the corner of BROADWAY & GLENDALE. Place is a little cramped; but I call it cozy ;) It's double the size of a previous dive bar I frequented a lot.

Dave's was a Dive Bar way before that name became cool and attract hoards of so called Millennials looking for a sleazy, Karaoke bar filled with their kindred spirits thinking that Dave's would embrace them with open arms. Well i checked out Dave's again recently after having been away for 10 years and i am here to tell you that though there have been a few changes (free nuts?), Karaoke to attract/repel the new clientele, Dave's is still, on the most part. most of the time (especially the day biz) what we used to call a Mom and Son bar. Yes, this is a place in which you are likely to see a dude with his Mom enjoying a beer with a whiskey shot. Nothing wrong with that is what i say. And though there is now a upscale Coffee joint right across the street, Dave's remains in my book a fun, dark, urine smelling bar. In other words, a place in which your pals can enjoy the stiff drinks, the nuts and free hot dogs on Saturday and the sometimes rude bartenders: many of whom have been here since the beginning of time. ( Dave's has been in this location since the 1940's and actually owned by a guy named Dave who was a fisherman and would cook Fish for his clientele a lot of years ago.) I don't go to Dave's to reminisce about the meaning of Life or whether there is an afterlife. i go to drink. The bartenders have changed a bit over the years: some good, others not so. But, as opposed to to other places i frequent it makes no difference to me as long as the drinks remain strong, the lighting remain dim and , for the most part, the clientele remains intent on procuring a thorough buzz. Dave's is not for everyone and God bless it: it has changed very little over the years. Accept Dave's for what it is or don't darken its doors! So new owners of Dave's: you keep right on doing your thing in the manner in which you have been doing it. I for one plus my friends will be back to enjoy the doom and gloom, stiff drinks and irascible bartenders.

A known fact about Mexicans is that when they drink they sing old school songs about drinking, women and love. I started out singing songs in English. By the end of the night I was belting out Mexi-standards on the mike with Aimee S. and Frank L. while people did the Mexican "grito". Damn it was fun. I'm slowly allowing SoCal to get in my good graces. Dave's Bar definitely makes it easier to go back.

This is such a cool dive bar.....too bad I had one of my worst experience ever. On a cool Saturday I decided to make a pilgrimage here to hone my karaoke skills. It's like I was good anyways, but my illusions of grandeur from 25Si at Garden Grove made me think I was game. Boy, was I so wrong. This was one of those working man's dive bar where you can get a cheap mixed drinks for $4 (like a Rum n' Coke) and a few bottles of Coors. If there was ever a place that should be called a dive, this place would be it. It's a pretty unpretentious place with everyone comes in to get a few drinks and maybe try their luck to be the next Karaoke superstar. With a few drinks in their hand, everyone thinks they are the next Huey Lewis and Gyneth Paltrow! How come I was complaining about having one of the worst experience here? Well, let's just I had Neil Diamond-like performance with a clunkering thud as my applause at the end. It was so bad, I needed four flasks worth of gin to wash down that misery of a performance. One great thing about coming here was that rum 'n coke was so cheap, I had a few rounds of that before the night was over. After sobering up towards the end of the night, I have one realization.... No, not that I'm going to retire from being the next Huey Lewis. I'm just need to pour more drinks and pick a non-George Michael song for next performance. ----- BTW, they do accept credit card. So I don't who are the voting public in that category.

This review is pretty much for karaoke fans though the drinks were great and cheap. And the free bowls of nuts were a nice touch you don't see in LA very often. Had a pool table too. Went here for karaoke on a Tuesday starting at 9pm and it was a blast. If you love a divey bar with a lot of charm and love karaoke it's the place for you. They had a great song selection and pretty solid sound quality. I hear it packs out on the weekends but on a Tuesday me and a friend practically had the place to ourselves and sang as many songs as we wanted. Great place to bring your friends.

Cool vibe and the only bar i know that has Amber bock on draft... Chris is an awesome bartender so go on Saturdays. Drinks are stiff, decently priced and free hot dogs!!! Hey when you're drunk, who cares!!
