Just drinks but excellent drinks. Reason Mable prices for Disney. Most popular drink is the Prickly Pear Margarita. Good place to wait for the Lion King Show. Restrooms just across the way.

This is our favorite drink Stop at Animal Kingdom. When you can get a seat at the bar at least for a little while it’s pretty fantastic. Love to people watch from here. We arrived slightly after a rain storm so plenty of time to enjoy the drinks before our next lightning lane. Harambe tea is our new favorite with a little bit of ginger as an after flavor. It’s delicious. Love the African margarita and the prickly pear margarita . Bob was super friendly and knowledgeable about the park.

Dawa Bar is a nice spot to grab a quick cocktail in Animal Kingdom. I had the Lost on Safari specialty drink and it was delicious! My husband had the African Margarita and he enjoyed it as well.

Google
Nice spot to grab a beer while you wait for your next fast pass or tusker house. The safari margarita is really good.

Wow what a rude bartender not what you would expect from a Disney experience. Hopefully you find a way to remove this soar little guy from a place that is supposed to be a good experience. The drink was great btw only had one.

This bar that's located inside Animal Kingdom is the best spot to hit up for adults who like a good drink. Drinks - Great selection of signature drinks, alchohol selection, beer selection and pours are good too. Prices - Fair prices for an amusement park. Staff - People here are friendly but can step up the game compared to the rest of the park. Maybe cause of the bar tenders but not sure. Seating - They have plenty of room to accommodate a decent amount of people. Restroom - They have some available right across from the bar. Overall great place and a must if you go here.

Great stop to get out of the sun for a cold specialty drink. Grab a snack from Tamu Tamu across the way.

Yelp
Dawa Bar is in Disney's Animal Kingdom in the Africa section of the park. It is very close to the Lion King show and directly next to Tusker House. You will need a park ticket to visit this bar. This is one of our always stop when visiting Animal Kingdom. This is just a bar, nothing fancy, but the bartenders are always great, the drinks are good, there is usually a special cocktail, the atmosphere around the bar is always upbeat and you might even catch a live performance while sipping on your cocktail. This bar has different options including specialty beer, wine and a basic stocked bar with some cocktails. There is usually a specialty cocktail of the month or quarter or event happening as well. I usually pick either a specialty beer or make a cocktail with the liquors they have. My wife usually chooses the specialty drinks. We have always enjoyed the drinks at this bar. Some of their drinks are pre batch made but for batch-made drinks, they are not terrible and still pack a nice little punch. Recently we ordered the Prickly Pear Margarita, which was originally designed to celebrate Hispanic and Latin American cultures. This was meant to be a limited time drink and it is still available, but I have no idea for how long. It is really good, one of the better drinks we have had. Hopefully it is popular so it will stay on the menu permanently. Another popular drink is the Ngumu Jungle Juice. This one is also very refreshing and a good one to order if you are unsure. I would definitely recommend this bar. They have great drinks, really friendly bartenders, lots of seating at the bar and also around it. It is perfect to grab before waiting in line for the safari or Lion King show. You cannot bring drinks into the Lion King Show but if there is a line, this is the perfect stop while you wait. I would say make sure to check it out when you need a quick drink at Animal Kingdom.

Next time you are at Animal Kingdom, I would definitely recommend checking it out.

Yelp
Great staff (ie cast), fun drinks and full bar and underrated Disney drinking locale. Whether you're at Animal Kingdom on vacation visiting the park, or looking to change up the bar crawl experience; a stop at Dawa is amust. Try the Ngumu Jungle Juice!

Yelp
ONE WORD: STEVE! Steve was the BEST. Extremely fun and such great service. We asked about the sweetness and taste of all the drinks and he was able to describe them perfectly. He shared that all the drinks had 2 oz of alcohol in them but they all had different flavor profiles. My group loved the Ngumu Jungle Juice and Prickly Pear Margarita. Both were delicious. The Prickly Pear Margarita was definitely sweeter between the two. I opted for the Jungle Juice and loved my decision! And boy was it tasty and strong. I had many alcoholic beverages at Epcot the day before and was not too phased. I had ONE Jungle Juice and was definitely on a good level. If you want a drink that is delicious and boozy, the jungle juice is the way to go.

Yelp
Very very pleasant bar. Great if you can snag a bar seat - equally as good to sit at the high tables. It's the perfect place to take a some time to relax amidst the hustle and bustle of the park.

Yelp
Dawson bar in Animal Kingdom is small and service spotty especially when they are short staffed with only one bar tender. The bar stools on the far side are often closed off and the front of the bar no longer have stools to make room for to go orders. It's more like a quick service bar rather than one you can actually sit at and have a drink. And they also stopped carrying beers from Africa absent one brand which just separates the experience from a bar in Africa to a kiosk window for drinks. If a seat is open I'll stay and have a drink or two, if not I'll pass.

Yelp
Always great service at this walk up bar in animal kingdom. The drink I order is pre-made, but is always good. No complaints. The cast members are always very nice. One of my favorites places.

Yelp
I was hyped to try their Lion's Fury since we were there during the Earth day celebrations last month. It's supposed to be jungle juice and Red Stag with a Fireball float. Pictures made it look like a beautiful sunset with a cherry. I watched the bartender spray something on tap into a cup. No cherry. He told me they didn't have cherries. Took a sip. Tasted the "jungle juice" (mostly just pineapple as it turns out) and Red Stag, no hint of Fireball. Looked bad, tasted bad. Bartender's attitude was kind of bad, too. Especially for WDW. Apparently it's best to stick to lounges like the Nomad Lounge at Animal Kingdom or the Brown Derby Lounge at Hollywood studios for a decent cocktail and good service.

Yelp
This is a must-stop bar on a visit to Animal Kingdom. They have a full bar and make great drinks.

Yelp
So this is one of our favorite spots in Animal Kingdom to have a drink. It can be hard to actually get a seat at the bar and drink but it is pretty cool to take a break here. It is in a good spot to people watch as well as watch the shows that go on every so often. Service can be a little slow as the bartenders are covering the bar and walk ups and I don't think I have ever seen more than 2 working. Some interesting options for drinks and beers to be had.

Yelp
Best walk-up bar in Animal Kingdom! Skip the other one in Asia and go here instead for better quality (stronger) drinks. The Lost of Safari drink is amazing!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent space to wait out the Orlando storms and watch people swim home. Highly recommend the cocktails too.

Yelp
4.5* Wish there was more seating. So there goes half a star. This is Walt Disney World so everybody had had enough walking/standing. Our beloved Marty Sklar said this for years. Why is there so little seating available? Miss ya, Marty! But we enjoyed our Ngumu Jungle Juice (based on POG Juice) and a Lost on Safari.

Yelp
Near the entrance to Africa in the Animal Kingdom is Dawa Bar. Nice place to stop and get a refreshing beverage and take a break in the shade. Not a lot of seating, but they do have tall tables for standing. My favorite here is the Sugar Cane Mojito. Great Mojito served with a stick of sugar cane. We've not had any other drinks other than the Mojito, so can't speak to them, but they do have a full bar and are always busy.

Yelp
This is a definite stop for me anytime I am visiting Animal Kingdom. Great bartenders and such a relaxing spot to sit and enjoy a nice cold beer. So glad they are open during Covid. You can remove your mask only while actively eating or drinking and stationary!

Yelp
This is a wonderful bar near the entrance to the Africa side of the Animal Kingdom. Whenever we're at this park we always stop by to have a drink at the bar and relax for a bit. I love ordering their bloody Mary's because they're so refreshing, a bit spicy, and strong. The Sugar Cane Mojito is great and the Tusker beer was really good too. There's plenty of shade and it's a nice place to stop by and relax while you listen or watch the performers. There's a lot of seating everywhere you shouldn't have trouble finding a place to relax for a bit and it's perfect place on a hot day. There's rarely ever a line here. I've usually walked right up to the counter and the longest I've waited was less than 5 minutes. Bartenders are very gays and efficient when making your drinks and there's usually always 2 people behind the counter.

Yelp
Great place to rest your feet (in the shade too!) while visiting Animal Kingdom. Their beer selection is a bit limited, but I really liked their Tusker Lager. That, along with a sandwich from the Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery makes a great lunch, and is now my GO TO place for lunch in Animal Kingdom! My wife ordered the Sugar Cane Mohito, and it was delicious! Strong (very) too!!
google avatar

Rory D.

Yelp
Fun bar with live African music players in the street in the background in the African section of Animal Kingdom. Full bar, but consider one of the 4 African cocktails or perhaps a Safari Amber, Tusker lager, Casablanca, Old Elephant Foot IPA or a Victory Golden Monkey Tripel Ale.

Tonto M.

Yelp
Will and Bob and gang are the best in the business! My friends and I have literally sat at Dawa and people watched for hours, also loving the interacting with Bob and Will! This is the first place we go when we hit Disney and never disappoints!
google avatar

Chad A.

Yelp
Not a whole lot to say about this great bar located next to yet part of Tusker House. They're an outdoor bar, but it's completely shaded there. There are plenty of seats either up at the actual bar or one of the tables. They feature lots of different types and qualities of liquor, but also beer, wine, and mixed drinks. This is a great place to sit, socialize, and pass the time while you are either waiting to dine at Tusker House or maybe provide a nice respite from the crowds! This place is also great for people watching or a great place to relax, imbibe, and also watch either the parade or perhaps the Harambe Dancers!....shhhhhhh!!!!
google avatar

Stephanie V.

Yelp
This place has become so popular that you have to get in line for a drink. They can't serve you at the bar until you wait in line at least once. Then, they can continue to serve you drinks while seated at the bar, if you're lucky to get a seat at the bar. The drinks are really good and the staff is really nice. As it stands right now, they do not serve food. It's a great place to kick back and relax just to rest and rejuvenate or get out of the rain!

Yelp
Dawa is our refreshment stop every time we go to Disney's Animal Kingdom. The Africa section is hot because of all the cement, so a cool drink goes far in bringing down your body temperature. They have a really nice Bloody Mary, if that's something you enjoy, and of course a full bar, including beer. The bartenders are nice, drinks are pricey, but not more than what you'd pay at a restaurant. In fact, I think their beer is slightly less expensive than Busch Gardens, which is a park we go to often in Virginia. If you need water, they always have it available as a self-service item to the side of the bar. They also open early, so if you need a little hair of the dog, then you're in luck.

Yelp
Perfect place to relax and grab a unique beer or mixed drink while trekking around Animal Kingdom. It's slightly hidden and the bar is tiny but there's a ton of places to sit right around there. It's across from Tamu Tamu Refreshments so grab some food and head over to grab a drink and enjoy your meal. Plus the seating area is covered so if it's raining, perfect shelter. Just claim a spot before all the crazies try running for cover too. The beer selection is pretty cool, all from African countries, plus the regular boring standbys. Ask the bartender which he recommends. Will DEF be stopping here on every trip to AK!

Yelp
Jambo, folks! Located near the entrance to the Africa area at Disney's Animal Kingdom, this little bar seems to get overlooked... Which is great news for me on a hot day at the park. While the specialty cocktail menu is nice, I always go for a glass of wine or a Long Island Iced Tea. I've also tried the spiked lemonade, which is very tart but delicious. The cocktails are surprisingly affordable considering it's a Disney Park. And I've never waited more than 5 minutes for a drink (which is nothing compared to going out in downtown Orlando). A couple of tips: 1) You cannot carry a beverage on an attraction or into a theater. Swing by here AFTER you go on Kilimanjaro Safaris. 2) Swing by here right before the band is scheduled to play. This is a great place to enjoy live entertainment and people-watch, if you time it right. Be sure to check out the Park schedule. 3) For maximum awesomeness, swing by the pretzel kiosk beforehand. A fruity cocktail pairs well with a salty Mickey pretzel.

Yelp
Bartender was busy with a bunch of customer waiting in line but we sit at the bar right in front of her for more than 10 mins and she just ignored us won't even take our order or ask us to wait in line. Zero eye contact and communication.
google avatar

Yelp
Dawa Colada was the best pina colada I have ever had! They used raspberry rum to sweeten it, so delicious! Located under a hut in Animal Kindgom next to Tusker House restaurant. What a treat!

Yelp
After a day of escorting around hormone crazy pre-teen/teen cheerleaders, spotting this place was like seeing an oasis in the desert. After clawing my way through the gathering crowd waiting for the parade, I plopped down my credit card and promptly ordered a double vodka and cranberry. The bartender, sensing my dire need for mind-numbing adult nom noms, poured me the strongest drink he could. God bless Disney and that wonderful bartender, without whom I may not have survived the rest of the day listeing to "OMG... like... yeah... totally... OMG!".
google avatar

Yelp
This is a great bar, especially for a Disney property. Our server was Cassie and she was great. She knew all of the drinks and the beers and told us the history of all of them. We spent a few hours here, and many, many dollars because of Cassie's knowledge and entertainment quality. I have to say that this was the highlight of our Animal Kingdom visit. We've discussed coming back tomorrow just to hang at the bar and watch the World Cup. Thank you Disney for a great bar experience. Please hire more bartenders like Cassie. She is worth her money in "magical experience" gold! Seriously! And Belgium is going to win the World Cup, too. Seriously! And go Cassie. She is going to win Disney VIP 2018.

Yelp
Awesome place to relax after walking around the park. It was a great idea to sit at the bar for a cold drink after a very hot day. I had the Harambe Cooler, and it was very refreshing. It was a stronger than I expected. I thought since it was at Disney it would be really weak for your money... Boy was I wrong! It had light rum, dark rum, and fruit juices. It tasted similar to a Mai Tai, and I definitely recommend it. It was the perfect chance to cool down with a drink and catch the breeze. It had a cute little bar covered for some shade. The bartender was great. He was very friendly, and had a great sense of humor. I would go back another time I visit Animal kingdom. I loved the Africa themed bar since it was in the Africa section.
google avatar

Janelle D.

Yelp
Great spot to hang out and enjoy good beer, cocktails and wine. Wine is made for export from S Africa. Not a bad thing. African Margarita rocks! Sharon is the best bartender from all the times I've been here--friendly, great on the drink making, personable without being overly familiar or intrusive.
google avatar

Robert D.

Yelp
Nice place for a drink while waiting for your Safari Fast Pass return time. I had the African Mojito which was really good!

Yelp
Great bar. Perfect place to relax and hang out after a day at the parks.
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
We did not eat in the restaurant, but we did stop at the Dawa Bar on the outdoor patio. It is a great spot to grab a beer and rest your feet for a moment. It is also not busy at all. It has a neat beer selection of beers from Africa. The bartender was also very helpful and friendly.
google avatar

Brittney W.

Yelp
Fans of La Cava, will love this place! "Dawa" which means medicine in Swahili ...is located to the right of the entrance to Harambe Village once you cross the bridge. Here, you can make reservations for Tusker House restaurant and sip on some of the finest rum, beer, and spirits Africa has to offer. I had both the "Harambe Cooler" and "Lost of Safari" two refreshing rum based cocktails that were refreshing but leave you feeling nice and toasty after a few gulps. warning: do not drink before riding 'Dinosaur'
google avatar

Robyn J.

Yelp
After a long afternoon at the park, this was the perfect place to sit down, have a drink and people watch. We snagged the only two seats at the bar and ordered the Lost on Safari, which is Capt. Morgan Spiced Rum, Bacardi Rum and Pangani Juice. Delightful! James, our bartender, was awesome. He was not only attentive to us, but able to be attentive to the line that would just not stop for the hour we sat there. This place is definitely a hidden gem in the pak!
google avatar

Kristen W.

Yelp
Service from the bartenders was very hard to get. Though they didn't look too busy, we were basically ignored for at least five minutes, and no apology was offered. I ordered a margarita on the rocks, and the bartender who took my order had to ask the other bartender how to make it. I know I'm a Southern Texas gal, but I thought that was Bartending 101. Considering there is an Agave Nectar Margarita, as well as a Habanero Lime Margarita on the menu, I didn't expect the hesitation with my generic order. I was nervous for that first sip to say the least...but I was very pleasantly surprised. The wine selection is pretty decent, and their list of speciality drinks is pretty cool, so I can't say I won't be back.
google avatar

Lily L.

Yelp
You don't put a 65 yr old woman behind the bar. Took 12 minutes to make 2 drinks. Especially during busy season!!!
google avatar

Rani C.

Yelp
Perfect place. Helps with the long lines. Went back for that mojito twice. Sooo good.
