The 14 Best Restaurants In Polanco - Mexico City - The Infatuation

"It can be hard to find good Indian food in Mexico City, but Dawat shines, and it’s why they’ve drawn in everyone from India’s ambassadors to Mexican presidents for over 20 years. This spot nails the usual suspects like lemon rice, butter chicken, garlic naan, and chicken tikka masala, all served in portions hefty enough to share with a group. If you’re taking a tequila break, the mango lassi, made with fresh mangoes, is a nice change of pace. The dining room is quirky and old-school, with Buddha art, orange walls, and a couple of TVs that are only turned on for major sports events. It’s less about impressing and more about offering a relaxed setting where you can enjoy your meal." - guillaume guevara

The food was just average, though the portions were good. The lemonade was really disappointing. Overall, the experience felt mediocre considering the price, which was on the higher side.

We just ordered from here. The cost of the food was ridiculous. It was $41.50USD/$781.94MXN and it only came with two small bowls (see photo) of our dishes. No rice or anything. These dishes are too spicy to eat alone, so we had to eat them with many tortillas that we happened to have at home. For that price for two people, no drinks or anything additional, we expected much, much more and better. We’ve ordered here before, and knew it was expensive, but the prices feel like they’ve gone up and it’s just not worth it. Plus it took forever for the order to be prepared. We waited so long for this…. We won’t be ordering again. :-(

Very beautiful decorated place. Good place to meet Indian food that has Mexican cuisine in mind. We had samosa, chicken Tikka and malai kofta and butter non. The flavors for me are Indian-mexican more than Indian but good dishes overall.

Google
This is a place to go if you are craving for real Indian food (in capital & bold letters 😂). We ordered samosa, vegetarian thali, lemon rice, roti & butter chicken and everything was really tasty. Lemon rice is a must try if you are at this place. Staff: Courteous and generous Service: Quick and satisfying Price: Slightly higher but for Polanco it's ok Quantity: A lot of food comes in each serving Quality: most of the food gives you the real Indian taste

We have been in Mexico for over a month and had been craving a proper Indian curry. This place didn’t disappoint! The drinks and service was fast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was freshly made and came in large portions which really filled us up. They have lots of options, we would highly recommend. We went for early dinner around 4pm so it was just us and another group.

Google
This is a fair place to test indian food but without authentic test. We have tried chicken Angara(suggested), Paneer tikka, chicken lasuni kabab in starters. In Main course we ordered Garlic naan tandoori roti, chicken Biriyani and Mutton Rogan Joose (Suggested). All Suggested is bad and not worth it to try. Naan is good. Biriyani is like rice in chicken gravy. You will get valet parking here.

Yelp
Plentiful & Delicious Indian Food. We have eaten on many occasions and the food is consistently wonderful. The wait staff are formal and very professional. We have tried several different dishes on the occasions and always they are hot , tasty , colorful , and large in portion. Look forward to our next Taste of India.

Yelp
Me and my wife were visiting Mexico City for business and we decided to look for an Indian food restaurant close to our hotel. I looked up on Yelp and came across 'Dawat' with four star ratings! We visited the restaurant and were impressed by the location and quality of building and clean and very pleasent atmosphere inside. The waiting staff was very courteous and guided us through the menu, told us about their specialties and overall provided great service. We had a great dinner. We noticed that the chefs don't rush through cooking. Everything is made to order. Once you order, be prepared to wait so we started with appetizers to keep us calm! All items were delicious and we were very pleased. Well... for dinners we went there 2 times after our first experience. We suggest to check it out!

Yelp
We visited this restaurant during our stay in Mexico. Super impressed by the delicious Indian food. We hit this restaurant straight for 4 days. Primarily tried vegetarian food and it's was amazing. The servers and cook are super nice. One day we had specific requests on how we wanted the food to be made, the chef got in touch and aligned his cooking to our needs. Thank you! Not to miss this if you are in Mexico city and craving for India food! Go Dawat!

Yelp
Best Indian food in Mex City. Incredible takeout. Every dish was carefully prepared and flawlessly spiced.

Yelp
Delicious authentic Indian cuisine. The restaurant was previously located in the street of "Seneca" and moved to this new location. They continue with their same good quality and friendly service at the new location.
