Clearly, Jamal is very informed and knowledgeable about the black history in Savannah and Beyond. He spoke with a level of energy behind his words which suggested his passion about the history and Injustice which was inflicted on his people. All in all we appreciated the knowledge and the backstory he gave us.

Great tour. It was very enlightening and Jamal was able share a lot of information and show us a lot of different places we didn’t see or hear about on the other tours. My husband and I really enjoyed talking to Jamal about the history of Savannah and how it ties in with black history on a larger scale. I would recommend dressing comfortable since it’s a 90 min tour. Overall Jamal was awesome and it was great getting to meet him.

Jamal Toure possesses immense knowledge and is also at the forefront of preserving African and Gullah culture and history in the region—he’s also just a good brother. There are other African American tours in Savannah that I’ve participated in but Day Clean Journeys is the only one I continuously return to and encourage others to patronize.

What an amazing tour! Jamal is such a wealth of knowledge, I have no idea how that much important information is squeezed into one brain! We learned so much. You can tell how important it is to Jamal to plant the seeds of history in as many minds as possible. Our questions and his knowledge and passion lead to engaging conversation. I am so grateful that I found this journey (tour) online. Jamal gave us more in a couple of hours than I believe we could’ve gotten in a couple of days on our own during our visit to Savannah. If you want to learn some black history that you can’t find in textbooks, call him and schedule a tour. I knew there was a vast amount of black history in Savannah, but I’m still processing everything that I learned today. Worth every dollar and more. We plan to come back with more family members in the near future.

This is an incredible tour! I wanted to know more about Savanna than what beautiful parks, trees and historic buildings it has, and I got more than I could have imagined. Our guide, Jamal immediately made us feel safe and treated us like family. Jamal is a highly educated man who seems to have a passion to envoke change.
