"This sunny spot is a true daydream and one-stop shop for beans, boards, and denim alike. While coffee memberships are common, Daydream offers its members access to a rotating quiver of 50 surfboards. It’s the ideal spot to pick up both a rose cardamom latte, as well as an ethically sourced, upcycled piece of fashion." - Jordan Morosco

"Surfboards , coffee, home decor, and sunny SoCal vibes come together in this welcoming shop located in, of all places, an office park. There's usually dreamy electronic music playing throughout the airy space, providing a soundtrack whether you're popping in to pick up ceramics or candles or settling in for coffee at the bar. You can browse through hand-thrown mugs and vases made by California ceramicists, as well as surfer-cool apparel and surfboards of course. Sip on a coffee made from one of their carefully chosen roasters, like the Fair Trade-conscious Onyx Coffee Lab out of Arkansas. Then take a seat in the cafe area, outfitted with custom, handmade furniture." - Archana Ram

Solid Americano. Friendly baristas. Sample space. Loud inside, quiet out front. Lovely selection of shoppable items. Unique.

Stopped by Newport Daydream Surf Shop and meant to write this sooner, but I was too busy riding the espresso-fueled wave of enlightenment. Yes this place makes coffee. Smooth, rich, just the right amount of bite like a little Italian vacation in a tiny cup. Took one sip, stared out at the ocean, and briefly considered quitting everything to become a poet. Still might. If you’re around and need a proper caffeine jolt, this is the spot. Good vibes, and espresso that’ll make you rethink your life choices, in the best way.

Had the veggie scramble—without dairy—and it was delicious. Ughhh, on my second visit they got my order wrong twice😖. Asked for veggie eggs no dairy and they loaded it with cheese and buttered the bread; on the redo, they got the eggs right but both times forgot to add the prosciutto I paid for. Oh well!🤷🏽‍♂️ At least it was tasty once I eventually got the eggs, even if I ended up overpaying—I never got the prosciutto🙈 Not a huge fan of their brewed coffee, but will try their espresso next time. 😣okay, tried their espresso and it is too sweet for me (i.e., much like Portola or Commissary); and since they don’t do long shots, it can’t be made nice and bitter. Will try their matcha next time😉 Nonetheless, still love this place. Atmosphere is like a bright cozy warehouse/store with open garage doors and high ceilings. Seating is a mixture of benches, bleachers, counter top, and small tables with electric outlets underneath.

Amazing vibes, great people, and unparalleled coffee. The bohemian aesthetic mixed with the down to earth service if a perfect recipe for a relaxing yet productive space. It’s definitely part community gathering space part sanctuary to get work done or just have a relaxing time with friends or family. Becca and Kyle really have done a fantastic job with this place. Would highly recommend.

Coffee: Great! Food: some pastries. WiFi: N/A Parking: a lot of parking spots. Love this cafe, I visited it last summer & I can’t forget the experience. Coffee was top notch & the place is so nice & cozy. The staff are friendly too.

Google
First coffee shop we stopped in on our tour of California and we loved every bit of it. From delicious coffee, sandwiches and avocado toast to immaculate vibes, this place had it all. The staff were very friendly and the experience was awesome!

Google
My favorite place in Southern California. I used to come here every day when I first moved to this area and found the staff to be so nice and very passionate about what they do! The owners are super sweet, always there, and super down to earth. I can't say enough nice things about the staff - all with their own really cool personalities. The natural lighting and atmosphere in here is really relaxing with a collection of really awesome vintage collection for sale, locally made pottery, and they highly support local creatives.

Google
This guys know how to make a good coffee (which is not common for Orange county). Selection of pastry is limited but people come here not for a peace of banana bread. The 70s - surfer ambiance is what they sell here. Patrons look foxy... Nice going!

Adriana M.

Yelp
So after reading some reviews on this place I was nervous to come try it! With anything I think you should go in with an open mind. Walking in the place is so spacious and is very aesthetic! They had a great area for sitting! They also sell a variety of things inside like clothes and little trinkets! I got up to the register to order and they didn't really welcome us or say anything. We ordered our drinks and one of the drinks was just sitting in the waiting area and the other drink they brought to us! Customers service I would say is lacking! They didn't give the vibes of being rude but they just seem to not really care. While I sat there drinking my coffee I was seeing them interact with other customers and it was basically all the same. Drinks we got were great nothing wrong. Again just customer service to me is everything so because of that I would say 3/5 stars

Caroline G.

Yelp
Came here for the vintage market they had our back - super fun experience! Small but great vendors with unique pieces. Lots of cool people to mingle with. The inside of the shop was unexpected - we thought this was just a cafe, but they have their own merchandise and vintage clothing select. Very carefully curated stuff! Only reason for missing a star is that the tea I ordered was not great. Will give the coffee and food a try next time I visit.

Yelp
The surfer vibe here is authentic and effortlessly cool, with chill music, beachy decor, and a laid-back energy that makes it the perfect spot to unwind. Perfect spot to grab a quick to-go coffee or settling in for a bit with your laptop, this spot has it all. They don't really have any specialty coffees. They have more options for teas and Matchas. I do agree with others the coffee is more expensive than other coffee shops despite that they don't serve speciality coffee. I saw some reviews say they treat POCs differently, but when I come here I get treated the same as any other customer. vibes!

Athena A.

Yelp
This is a cute mini surf shop but way overpriced. The options for shirts are okay but nothing special to the surf company or California beach vibes. The Mexican beach rugs are also way overpriced when you can find them at the other beach shops in new port for 50-60$. Parking is easy here on the street.

C L.

Yelp
Im not sure why so called hip and trendy coffee shops have to be rude and inhospitable. But they've once again achieved that here at this one. So boring. The avocado toast was brick hard. My teeth literally hurt after eating the bread

Amanda R.

Yelp
Located in a more industrial area of Costa Mesa, Daydream Surf Shop is a charming spot that's worth seeking out. During my visit on a Monday late morning, I found plenty of street parking, although their parking lot is on the smaller side. The shop has a cozy atmosphere with limited seating, including two tables out front, at their coffee bar, and some stacked benches. The staff was incredibly friendly. I ordered a macchiato and a bagel with cream cheese, which was delicious and reasonably priced at about $10 total. The chill vibe of the place made it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a quiet morning. If you're in the area and looking for a laid-back coffee shop with great service, Daydream Surf Shop is definitely worth a visit.

Tim A.

Yelp
From Chicago, first time at DDSS with my daughter. I've been to hundreds of coffee shops with her over the years, but this one has the coolest, surfer, California vibe I've ever seen : ) The coffee was good too. Highly recommended!

James M.

Yelp
How do I gatekeep this spot but also tell everyone I know? It's like a coffee shop and a surf shop fell in love, threw on some Marvin Gaye, and popped out a surfcore Pinterest baby that probably drinks goats milk and shreds better than I ever could.

Sarah B.

Yelp
Daydream has great quality coffee and a solid variety of options. The vibe is cool, and the customer service is friendly and welcoming. However, the drinks are really small, especially for the price. I just wish they offered a larger size option. Overall, it's a good spot, but if they offered larger portions, this place would be even better!

Stephanie W.

Yelp
Best strawberry matcha around. All of their food is incredible too! My favorite coffee shop in Newport.

Jeff T.

Yelp
I'm stoked this place exists, but feel a little let down. I drop in fairly often to or from my pottery studio around the corner, and love the industrial design mixed with the surf aesthetic, and the vocal support of local craftspeople and artists; there's a buzzing community vibe that feels healthy here. The bummer is that the baristas often come off as weirdly resentful, so don't expect smiles or gracious interactions from behind the counter. Also, the coffee ain't cheap ($7.50 for an oat latte) and can arrive lukewarm. I'll keep coming by and supporting them, though, hoping the experience may get better.

Morgan-Emilee A.

Yelp
I love this shop so much every time I visit. I got the one and fun and it's was so good. I really liked the flavors our their beans here. You get a Cortado (you can choose your flavors but I had the barista make it however they want) a shot of espresso and tonic water. This left me very much alert and awake for the day! Haha We love the shop that's inside as well I always get a new shirt when we are in town. It's really bright and open in the shop, fairly quiet so if you needed to do work this would be a good place to come hang out for a while. Favorite coffee shop in Orange County hands down.

Damaris E.

Yelp
This coffee shop is such a vibe! This was my first time trying it and it did not disappoint. Although I did not get anything to eat, their oolong latte was pretty good. However, I do wish the tea was more concentrated. My friends got a bagel and a chorizo burrito. The Everything Bagel smelled so good and although the chorizo burrito was almost the size of a child, my friend said it barely had any eggs in it :( Overall, I will definitely give this place another try. Great service and chill vibes!

Matthew C.

Yelp
My wife is a huge coffee fan so I wanted to find a local spot that gave off OC beach vibes. And this place is amazing for that. The space is huge, they also have a retail store of some sort with a basketball hoop in back. Parking is pretty good with street parking and a little lot. The staff were friendly and best yet the coffee was good and they have some tasty food items as well. Decent amount of spots to sit to hang or study. Highly recommend this spot if you're a coffee fan.

Rebecca R.

Yelp
This is my go to coffee shop in Costa Mesa industrial area. I bring all my friends and family here because the vibes are immaculate and the coffee and food is always spot on, as well as the service. Parking is a little bit of a hassle (street parking) but if there is not a big event nearby it's usually easy breezy. I highly reccomend the egg sandwich and the latte, and fermench kombucha is the best out of their cold case. I need to try the croissants there next. The shop is so cute too, all surf stuff.

Jack L.

Yelp
Continuing my way through Drift coffee recommendations, I was in Orange County for the day and had to try what was a combination of a surf shop and a coffee shop. The ambiance of this coffee shop was unlike any other: a cool, laid back surf shop that was very open with much natural light. And as you progress through the shop, there is a coffee shop with much indoor and outdoor seating, leading to a very nice vibe in a beach town. The staff were very friendly, they almost reminded me of the artsy areas of Los Angeles, such as Los Feliz and Silverlake. Nevertheless, they had their own, more laid back vibe, yet very helpful. The coffee was great, and I could tell they used micro-roasted beans. The prices were also fair, and it led to a very nice afternoon coffee on a warm day in Newport Beach. I can't wait to go back, sit for longer, and try more of what's on their menu! Absolutely recommended.

Geroge M.

Yelp
Matcha was mid, very milkly. Burrito was not good. $14 for something you can get at taco bell. Interior of shop was very nice, however.

Ashley M.

Yelp
I will always love this coffee shop (the old and now newer/current location). Everyone is always so kind and it's a great place to start off the weekend with a coffee, meet up with a friend or work on some work you may have. The environment is casual and they have lots of local goods you can purchase. They offer a great selection of drinks, coffees and teas in addition to pastries. Worth a visit!

Stacy S.

Yelp
Daydream surf shop is... dreamy! It's part coffee shop, part surf & clothing shop off of 16th Street in Costa Mesa, with the entrance being in the back. It'd be easy to miss if it weren't for their big sunny welcome sign out front. Upon arrival, I was surprised how crowded it was. It seemed to be filled with the 20-30 yr old crowd who were hanging out with friends enjoying their morning cup of Joe. It had a very chill vibe to it. I asked the barista if he could make a Borgia (mocha with orange zest). He said he'd certainly give it a try! I was impressed by his willingness to give it a go despite the fact that it wasn't on their menu. As they were creating my drink, I walked through their retail store section and was glad that they called my name within 5 minutes or I would've walked out of there doing much more damage to my credit card if I had stayed any longer. They had so many cute outfits and misc items! The Borgia wasn't totally rad. I think it lacked the orange flavoring. I'm not sure if they used orange zest or something else, but again... A for effort! I also ordered a pop tart that was full of flavor! Definitely recommend. I will certainly stop by in the future, but next time I'll try one of their tried and true coffee concoctions.

Jonathan K.

Yelp
I am now a Daydream Believer Daydream Surf Shop has all your classics like a wall of surfboards and the accessories like wetsuits, cables, wax, etc. but also opens up to a whole collection of eclectic wall accessories, clothes, and food supplies from local suppliers But back to the actual coffee shop, we ordered the Rose Cardamom latte and Strawberry matcha which had good flavor and listened when we customized with light ice, but for the size and price (pretty small for $6) that's something you have to mindful about even if they have a stamp card They have a small bleacher inside to sit or it was nice to walk through the hosted farmers market, so maybe not your everyday coffee shop but a nice weekend treat!

Nis J.

Yelp
This shop is aesthetically pleasing and feels very expensive! Regarding the food, it's delish. The eggs were made to perfection and I love the way they used radish on the breakfast sandwich. As for the place itself, they sell some expensive merch. There's also only limited seating and they have "stadium seating" available which is interesting. Knocked off 1 star for the limited seating and expensive merch and food. But food was great and service was great too so I can't complain too much. Shoutout to the cook who prepared our food!

Penelope P.

Yelp
I've been thinking about this place for a while now. Trying to understand why the experience here is always SO uncomfortable. We've been here about 12-15 times in the past six months. Had a great shot of espresso here in January, and it kept us coming back. It's hard to find a place in Orange County that can pull a good shot of espresso. HOWEVER... The staff and customers are so bizarrely rude. No one smiles, even when you make eye contact and initiate a smile. Everyone is white...like 98% white. If you're a POC you will absolutely feel like an outsider here. I know the owners can't help who comes into their shop, but at the same time, the overall culture of any business trickles down from the top.

Marissa D.

Yelp
I understand that most lattes now a days cost about $7 or $8 dollars but $8 for this 12oz latte was a little absurd. The shop itself is fine and they have various items ranging from clothes, to surfboards to cards and books to look at while you wait for your coffee. It's a cool shop just overpriced for what you can get at another shop for the same quality.

Amy L.

Yelp
Stopped by here in the afternoon and did not enjoy the vibes at all. I'm not one to usually write bad reviews but the baristas were not friendly and clearly didn't want to be there. The coffee itself is decent at best and it's not something I'd go out of my way for again. The only thing I can really compliment on is the overall aesthetic of the shop. I don't want to make any assumptions but I saw another review saying how they treat POC differently compared to non-POC, and I definitely felt that kind of vibe when we entered. (We were the only POC in the entire store.) They seemed really friendly to the 2 parties in front of us and spent a good amount of time making conversation, but the guy seemed annoyed when he had to take our order. Lovely. Overall, I don't feel comfortable coming back.

Christine C.

Yelp
We ordered the matcha latte and espresso and both were good, but not amazing. The drinks matcha latte could be a bit stronger and was a light green color. I prefer it to be stronger and a darker green. The same thing for the espresso. The espresso is not as dark and rich in flavor as we ideally like it to be. The coffee shop is cute and a nice place to work from if you want to get fresh air. Service is good and the baristas are friendly.

Karlee B.

Yelp
Such a cute coffe shop that fully encompasses the Southern California vibe and spirit. From the surf shop, clothing & pottery for sale, and the customers, you'll never feel as in socal as you do here. The baristas are super friendly and quick. I got the oolong latte and it was just what I needed and had cute presentation. Only thing is it didn't come out super hot, which made it easy to drink right away but got cold pretty fast. Not a big deal, though. Looking forward to returning.

Johnathan D.

Yelp
This place is super good, great coffee great vibes and great food! HOWEVER their breakfast burrito used to be literally the greatest breakfast burrito on the planet due to the crispy hashbrowns they put in the burrito; they were nearly indistinguishable from bacon. I told so many people about this burrito and I'm glad some of my friends got to try it and verify that it totally holds up BEFORE the crispy hashbrowns were replaced with normal soft hashbrowns. I assume this was done so they could make them faster (it used to take a while to get the burrito) but it was SO WORTH the wait, I miss this burrito but still love this place

Janice C.

Yelp
I was on a walk with my dogs when I saw other people walking in with pups. I checked it out on Yelp to see what it was about. Extremely friendly people. 2 tables of families with small kids all wanted to pet my dogs. The staff behind the counter Were all very friendly and helpful. 10 AM on New Year's Day People are usually sleeping LOL. Or grumpy cuz they had to go to work. I asked questions about their titanium products And coffee prices. Quick to answer And to look up what they didn't know. Very out of the way place Not on a main drag In Newport/Costa Mesa heights. Definitely check this out. Delicious gluten free pastries.

Jacob W.

Yelp
Waited in line and worker was just talking with a guy for awhile. Blonde barista was very stuck up and rude. Americano was mid and bad vibes from worker. If you're a minority be prepared to be treated differently lol.

Chris O.

Yelp
Saw this place on a Tik Tok review of the breakfast burrito. The dude gave the BB a 9.1 out of 10., don't know how he came up with that .1, but ok.. So this location you will drive by if your first time.. its in the middle of an industrial park, but sits on a corner lot with the store from on 16th street. Parking is available behind, but not on the side- where it's church only parking, otherwise the street is wide enough. The rear of the store is where you enter to the cafe.. It's more of a coffee cafe than food as there's only 4-5 food items. But 20+ beverages. The surf shop is new/ used surfboard and a few SUP, and clothing to local handmade items.. and beach towels.. I think I even saw a water pipe. Ordered a mocha and added FUN to it, ask the barista to explain that. The mocha is served warm, not piping hot, as also got a hot chocolate that was same temp as mocha.. at 07:30am, and 55 degrees with no heater in the bldg and open store concept.. it would be smart to have HOT drinks, not warm. So after looking around while our food was being prepared in a small "kitchen" in the back, it got busy quickly... Ordered two BB with avocados and one with chorizo. The wait was short about 5-7 mins, they will call your name to pick up your food.. find a seat if you plan on staying, otherwise it's bleachers to sit on. My Breakfast Burrito was good sized cut in half.(see pic).. it's pretty filling eating half.. Grilled tortilla, 50% eggs, 25/25% meat and hash browns (the hash browns are crunchy, which is awesome.. but with bacon and adding chorizo.. lots of salt kinda overpowering .. so I'd go with out the bacon next time.. but I liked it!! ..(.next time I'll get one or the other).! The one thing I'd recommend is Toast- sourdough with butter/ jelly.. as I'm weird, I love dunking my toast in my coffee... My next visit will be the breakfast sandwich.. which I hear is tastey too.. maybe the Avocado toast on the side.. oh surf boards run $800-$2000

Jasmine Z.

Yelp
The cutest coffee shop!! Literally half the reason my fiancé and I were drawn to this place was the fact that it's a surf shop as well. The cafe was an added bonus! Super unique and well-designed interior; the drinks are pretty solid as well. I opted for an iced lavender matcha, and it was the perfect amount of sweet, floral, and earthy. I'd definitely come back to try some of the food items on their menu.

Dennis N.

Yelp
What is it with modern hip coffee shops and how it's not possible to order a bucket of coffee? No matter the coffee, your only option is 12oz. Why? I ordered a cold brew and half the cup was ice, so it basically left me with maybe 4-5oz of coffee when what I wanted was a boatload. (Thanks for coming to my Ted talk). Anyhow, staff is friendly. The shop is spacious, dog friendly (!!), clean and is basically a surf shop with a coffee bar inside it. Nice and different vibe for sure. Coffee was delicious and next time I might just bring my 1gl jug and have them fill that up.

Kennia B.

Yelp
I have been going here for years (pre-covid). I have a been a daydream coffee lover as long as I can remember. I ordered food for the first time today and they took 20+ minutes to make my order. when i approached the guy who took my order he was chatting with another girl with darker hair and she looked at me like i was interrupting their convo. I asked for my ETA on my food and they guy just said "they're still working on it" without checking in. It also wasn't clear where they would call out my order. Waited another 10 mins and approached another girl who was actually friendly and assisted me. I proceeded to take my order and another worker told me I took the wrong order when I was actually claiming what I paid for! I have been a barista as well, and so I am confused at where the coldness and lack of customer service is. As for my most recent visit, I have felt very out of the "circle" as a POC. I couldn't quite put a finger of why I felt uncomfortable in most recent years but as I have observed on occasion, if your not white/edgy/fit their aesthetic.. they will look you up and down. As reviews before me stated, I now know this was not something I have entirely felt in my own. Young curly haired guy with glasses has talked to my bf in a certain tone as well during one of our visits and makes me feel uncomfortable with the way he presents himself. It's so frustrating for a business to take up space in a predominantly hispanic area and act as though they are better or whatever their issue is. I hope they get it together and it's a shame I won't be going there anymore. I'd rather support a local business to caters to all.

Erica K.

Yelp
Daydream Surf Shop is a literal daydream as this feels like a two parts general store where you can pick up cute and essential knick knacks while also browsing around with a drink from their coffee bar. We tried their Rose Cardamom Latte and Strawberry Matcha, which were both yummy and light iced however for the small cup size and each both around $6 it can be pricey. The space itself is soothing since there is a scaled down version of a Costco food court seating area or you can visit their art gallery on the other side!

Hannah B.

Yelp
Our go to spot headed to Newport Beach! Ambiance is clean, low key, organic and minimal. Great spot to post up and work, meet a friend or hangout. Has seating with tables and bleachers. They have local clothes, handmade items, photos, art, surfboards and accessories. Coffee is great and has light sandwiches! Fav drink is lavender vanilla latte.

Kevin S.

Yelp
Dope coffee shop with delicious drinks! Service was quick and efficient. Definitely had a beachy ambiance and found having the surf shop to be an added bonus to the overall experience. Recommend!

Jacob K.

Yelp
It's not actually a surf shop. I went in today and it was marketed to me on Apple Maps as a surf shop, because at first I thought it was a church so I wanted to make sure. I saw it was a surf shop, went back, and had the most whack experience ever because like monk humming was playing over the speakers. Actually amusing.

Alexandra P.

Yelp
I love driving down to Daydream! I seem to always get something different each time and they don't disappoint. I love the atmosphere, such a chill vibe. Always great service. I'm at the beach this weekend and plan on heading there any day now.

Meagan M.

Yelp
A hidden gem in Newport Beach near Westside Costa Mesa, Daydream is a chill multi-roaster cafe meets surf shop. They have indoor seating with both tables and a bar, which I recommend if you enjoy watching how your drink is concocted. I went with Alec's recommendation for the iced Cosmosus Caramel with oat milk, and it was served in a tiki glass with candied pineapple on top. When you go to take a drink, you can really smell the pineapple, and the drink tastes super creamy and caramely, with just the slightest hint of acidity from the pineapple. To get a taste of the coffee, I recommend a shot of espresso, which they serve with Mountain Valley mineral water as a palette cleanser. They also sell a wide array of unique ceramic mugs, apparel, and, of course, surf boards. This is the first surf shop where I've enjoyed such quality coffee, and I love that they are always changing up their offerings to bring their customers unique, vibrant, quality coffee experiences. I can't wait to visit again soon!

Alexa S.

Yelp
I don't usually write reviews, but after multiple visits to Daydream, I've got to vent. Every time I've been here, the staff have had the same consistently rude attitude. It's like they're running a secret club where you have to fit their "cool" aesthetic to get decent service. If you don't, well, you might as well be invisible. On my latest visit, I ordered a toast and a latte. I was taken aback when I saw that a 12oz latte costs nearly $9--seems a bit steep for what you get. The toast was forgettable, and the latte was lukewarm and lacking flavor. I waited forever for my order, and when I tried to flag someone down to address the issues, they were too busy with their own little social circle to notice. When I finally managed to get their attention, the response was just as indifferent as their attitude. So, if you're okay with feeling like you've crashed their exclusive coffee party and paying top dollar for mediocre fare, this place might be for you. Otherwise, you're better off finding a spot where they actually value every customer and serve up a decent cup of coffee.

Rachel S.

Yelp
Great coffee, service, and vibe! This is the perfect place to stop by for coffee with a friend or to study. They even have a shop with cute kitchenware and goodies, and I even bought myself a ceramic cup! Coffee is reasonably priced for the area and they serve specialty coffee from local roasters. Parking is also available, making it easily accessible.

Rachel N.

Yelp
I've been coming here for 4 years now and Daydream has never disappointed! The quality of the drinks is consistently good and I love all of the fun seasonal lattes they come up with. There is also ample free parking which is rare for Newport, so that's always a plus! The shop connected to the cafe is v pricey but they have a lot of cute knick-knacks and as someone who surfs I really love the theme of this place :)

Anthony L.

Yelp
3 because I love local business. Also, 3 because that's what I'd rate the CS experience and lack of consistency at Daydream. These kids seem to hate life unless one of their friends is in line then they talk forever and disregard those waiting, all the time.

Alicia K.

Yelp
Very hippie very chill Except for the service we got that day and the drink we got (to go coffees that tasted like water with milk foam, only learned about this while driving away and hated to go back again). Thus, to be fair, have to give out a one star to be honest.

Christine M.

Yelp
super friendly and the environment is very warm! Love the surf boards and decor! Coffee was great. I would have to say it was a bit hard to find and the small sign in window made me laugh but they were not shy of business so I think Locals know about this place for sure. It's a young vibe or for the young at heart I know I felt about 20 again being there. To have places like that near us would be wonderful!

Sara A.

Yelp
Still loving this place! The coffee is phenomenal, some of the best I've had. They even let you get single origin beans If you'd like. Their new location is more spacious and has great vibes. Now they have a lot of food and baker options as well that have all been delicious so far! Free parking lot and street parking all around makes it easy.

Yelp
Tired this coffee shop for the first time today. It's been on my list of coffee shops to try in the OC area and I'm glad I did! It's located in a business center area with plenty of parking right in front of the coffee shop. I can't speak for the surf shop portion but the coffee was really good. We ordered an ice vanilla latte and a cappuccino. The first couple sips of my ice vanilla latte were a bit bitter but it grew on me after a while. The coffee is very flavorful and you can tell the beans used are quality. I'm more of a ice coffee person but I tried the cappuccino and it tasted really good. I wanted to try their strawberry matcha but unfortunately it was only a seasonal drink so they did not offer it. I would highly recommend this place. They have good service and the drinks were made pretty quickly. It's also a great place to sit and enjoy your drink or study as they have plenty of seating inside.

Yelp
The straws here are amazing!!!!!! I have never used such a HIGH QUALITY biodegradable straw. You know those paper straws are so 2016... I've used corn biodegradable straws before, but nothing surpasses the avocado straw. I really want to know where Daydream Surf Shop gets their straw supply from? Also, if it's no trouble, was curious what part of the avocado is used to make the straw? I really hope it's the pit. Thanks! Also, the coffee is good and the vibe is good too :) update: I did eat the straw, I wasn't sure if it was edible. It did taste okay though. Needed more salt in my opinion!

Yelp
So, here's the deal with this place. It's a 30/70 crab shoot what customer service experience you're going to get. Once in a while, you'll get someone nice and welcoming but mostly the inspiring "artist" who posts on reddit all day complaining about how tough life is looking at cat pics (working in a rich area pretending they're cultured) and for some reason, can't say hello and looks at you awkwardly like "Why are you here" like you don't serve coffee and I'm trying to buy coffee This place charges a premium for goodish coffee and pretentious workers yet Freelance is right down the block, has better coffee and the people there are very friendly. Just remember, it's not the customers fault you hate your job and got terrible tattoo work done. That's your own doing. I do enjoy playing the game of "which miserable barista we getting today" with the wife though. Appreciate that fun.
