It may have been an off day, but the smells when entering the restaurant was enough to put you off of food. It was so bad we just left. I cannot give you an opinion on the food.

This small bakery serves up deliciousness with a smile. It was a charming experience and hard to resist not ordering everything available.

Yelp
We probably broke several laws, inclduing parking on the sidewalk, trying to go to this spot. But I think it was probably worth it. I loved their guava and coconut tarts- probably the best we had on the island. Definitely worth a try if you're in the neighborhood.

Yelp
My first time in St Thomas VI and I was eager to try authentic VI cuisine. I'm more of a "hole in the wall" kind of foodie so the commercial restaurants I did not want to try. I found this bakery on yelp and the reviews let me know this was the authentic experience I was looking for. I ordered salt fish ($6 for a big bowl), dumbread with cheese ($2), and a Guava Tart ($2). The salt fish was so flavorful. The dumbread was fresh and the bread was sweet. They also use the thick cheddar cheese and warm it up upon request. The Guava tart was a great treat as well. It had a cinnamon flavor and filled with big chunks of guava fruit and guava jelly. I was completely satisfied and I cannot wait to go back next month to try other things on the menu. They are open nice and early and it's a little red door that can be easy to miss. If you're visiting St. Thomas and looking for a real authentic food experience do not miss out on this place!!! The lady who served me was also very nice and welcoming.

Yelp
We came here ready to eat. We got bottled water. The food looked horrible, dry and old

Yelp
Visited this place late in the evening. The food was ok but I gave it 5 stars because this was the nicest owner and local on the island.

Yelp
Woah, walking into Daylight Bakery and Diamond Barrel for breakfast, is kind of like being back in Hawaii. You can order spam, rice, and scrambled eggs for breakfast! I'm still trying to figure out the prices here, nothing is posted and the counter ladies, add it all up in their heads, but I've concluded a little goes a long way. We once ordered 2 dumb bread loaves, 2 coconut drop scones, 2 oatmeal raisin cookies, a guava tart pastry, pineapple tart pastry, large coffee, large tea, fried fish rice, sausages, and eggs, and it came out to $22. That's a lot of food! This place only lost a star for the coffee. Coffee makes my brain turn on. Unfortunately (the sweet ladies at the counter admitted that they just pour water into the coffee dispensors to make more), the coffee isn't strong enough to make me into a decent morning human being. Something to keep in mind if you are going to have breakfast here. No the hot tea isn't caffenated I think it's a local "bush tea" with lemongrass. If you're feeling under the weather definitely have some. If stopping in USVI once try the dumb bread. What is dumb bread you ask and why is it dumb? Well its flour sweetened with coconut shreds or sugar. Back in the day it was cooked via Dutch oven which was called a "dum". I'm a savory person and I don't like my pastries too sweet. Daylights tarts, cookies, and scones are subtlety sweet which tricks my savory brain into wanting more! Writing this review makes me want to get a guava tart right now, they are drool worthy! The hot breakfast and lunch items while they are delicious are calorie packed fatty. Sausages, bacon, fried corned beef and salt fish are all good. The only dish I didn't care for was the fried fish rice, its just me though, the hubby and fur baby thought it was tasty. This is a pay at the counter, then dine in or take out kind of place, although most patrons prefer take out. Parking is a cinch, you have to park on the street out front, and there are always spots, but so long as half of your car is within the white line you're golden. Overall a great place to get your daily carb fix!

Yelp
Part of the fun of Holiday is finding the culinary happy places, one of which is Daylight Bakery at St. Tom VI. Sit at the counter for a delish breakfast and the daily news from the friendly servers. Both locals and tourists enjoy this haunt, we stopped in almost every morning while in town. Watch out when you ask for hot sauce, they have some selections that will make you feel like your eyes are going to pop.

Yelp
True island food and baked goods!!! I was elated to learn they were fully operational when I visited, no random hours no weird closed days, running as usual. I've had the coconut tart from diamond barrel all my life and it's never changed (which is great). They became my go to breakfast spot while visiting and I was never dissatisfied. It's hard to find true Island breakfast food but this place rekindled my island love of breakfast food! A good ole fashion dumbread and cheese with salt fish and Bush tea was all I needed to feel at home again!

Yelp
If you're looking for authentic Caribbean food, this is the spot! We had Johnny cakes, salt fish, salmon, spinach and okra, corned beef, and sausage. Loved everything! I highly recommend this place. I'm ready to go back for more!

Yelp
I went here based on all the breakfast reviews but by the time we arrived at 10:30. Breakfast was all finished. Get to this place early if you want breakfast. I did get to try the guava tart :) so delicious. The texture is sort of like a soft buttery cookie with guava jam in the middle. Yummm! $2 each

Yelp
All of the bakery items are excellent! Not as sweet and the stateside norm; coconut pies are the exception- very sweet. Typically pineapple, coconut, and guava fillings. GREAT service!

Yelp
Salt fish patte, pop tarts, johnny cake with corned beef. Friendly staff and great price. Had seconds, wish I had room for thirds. Went for breakfast, might come back for lunch.

Yelp
We like to find a real bakery on vacation, and this place is it. Local working folks and local office type folks in buying breakfast and lunch, so you know it's good. Good breads and pastries, Friendly people behind the counter who can explain if you don't know what something is. We had some small loaves of bread, round pastry things and different colored macaroons. We also had some fungee and rice and beans and a grilled fish that they said was a triggerfish but didn't look like a triggerfish but was wonderful whatever it was. Eating fungee out of a styrofoam clamshell isn't fine dining but the stuff was MUCH better than what we had a couple nights before at an upscale expensive restaurant. If you want real local food, give this place a try. We didn't sit down, but it looks like you can sit at the tables. If you are a tourist on the island, get out of your comfort zone and enjoy some good home cooking. You can have a burger at home, get some fungee here.

Yelp
This place is the real deal. We went here twice on vacation to get breads and pastries; it did not disappoint! We were the only tourists in the place. It's a little bit of a walk from the more touristy part of downtown, but worth the effort. The ladies who work here were very friendly and explained what everything was. Try the dumb bread with coconut, and the filled pastries (coconut, pineapple, or guava). We didn't try the savory food, but it looked delicious.
