22 Restaurants Great For A Group Dinner In London - London - The Infatuation

"This Hong Kong cafe in Finsbury Park calls itself an ‘Asian fusion’ restaurant, meaning that there are things like satay sauce and ramen on the menu, as well as homemade dim sum that’s worth carving out an hour for. You’ll probably be cajoled into an extra item or a special creation by Dayu’s maternal owner, like deep-fried mustard prawns. And it will likely be a good decision. Push a few tables together and bring the entire group chat. There’s enough space for everyone, and if you double up on the dim sum there should be enough to go round." - jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, heidi lauth beasley

Dayu - Review - Finsbury Park - London - The Infatuation

"Finsbury Park, God love it, is a total mess. So when a restaurant as welcoming as Dayu comes along, we can’t help but notice it. This Hong Kong cafe calls itself an ‘Asian fusion’ restaurant, meaning that there are things like satay sauce and ramen on the menu, as well as homemade dim sum that’s worth carving out an hour for. You’ll probably be cajoled into an extra item or an special creation by Dayu’s maternal owner, like deep-fried mustard prawns. More likely than not, it will be a good decision. The spicy sauce the wontons come in is more umami-ish than anything with chilli heat and the har gau could be more delicately wrapped, but both fillings are juicy and well-seasoned. Get a few variations of dumplings and enjoy them to the soothing soundtrack of waiting room music. It’s a world away from the interchange outside. Food Rundown Har Gau The minced prawn filling inside of these har gau is lovely, even if the wrappers are a bit thick and claggy in places. photo credit: Jake Missing Siu Mai Moist, salty, and very plump—these siu mai are an easy decision. Make sure to ask for some chilli oil on the side. photo credit: Jake Missing Wontons In Spicy Sauce There’s plenty to love about these wontons and the filling is perfectly steamed with some nice flecks of ginger going on. The sauce is more like a black bean-ish gravy with a background spice that slowly grows." - Jake Missing

A wonderful hidden gem! We were walking around Finsbury Park and looking for a nice place to eat and we happened to stumble across this place. The food was perfect the service was lovely and the atmosphere inside is really welcoming. I had my sibling with me who is slightly picky and they still loved the food. Has something for everyone and you’re sure to love it. The lovely lady inside gave me recommendations and I loved all of them! Definitely will be returning with the rest of the family to get them to try the food.

Don’t let the photo fool you… the food is simply amazing! The flavours, aroma are something that leaves you marveled! The corn soup was the first to serve, it leaves your taste buds craving for more. The fried rice: wow! wow! wow! The wok-hei (smoky, charred aroma) is simply amazing. Our favourite and best dish we ordered. Next comes the stir fried sliced chicken, heavenly - taste and aroma defies the blend-colour photo. Taste by tongue always, and not by sight! 2nd best dish! The sweet sour pork, aromatic but needs a little more salt or MSG, but still amazing. Stir fried veg medley amazing- good wok-hei aroma. Service staff, impeccable and nice. Highly recommended.

The food was so delicious I forgot to take a picture until we had almost finished. The spring rolls are made fresh every morning and the sweet and sour chicken was the best I’ve had in a long time. The lady serving us was also so lovely.

An absolutely fantastic find! The Golden Soy Duck was incredibly flavorful with perfectly cooled . The stir-fried udon was savory and satisfying. The dim sum selection looked amazing too. Can't wait to come back to try more dishes. Highly recommend!

Authentic Hong Kong dim sum and dishes, very delicious. Particularly like their shiu mai and chicken bun (home made!). Singapore style fried vermicelli is also good! Convenient location - close to Finsbury Park Station. Will definitely be back to try other dishes!!!
