When I walked into this little pizza place, I hoped I had found a local gem. Unfortunately, although the server was exceptionally friendly and wonderful, the food left much to be desired.
After walking in for the first time and thinking we might have stumbled onto a new favorite local pizza joint, my girlfriend and I decided to taste-test a variety of menu options.
We started out with the Dazzo's Famous Garlic Knots, and although they did swim in quite a bit of butter, I will say that this was the one item we ordered that did taste quite good and I would recommend.
The server highly recommended the Pizza Fries so we ordered those on her recommendation, but the fries were undercooked and very bland.
We ordered the Fettuccine Florentine, which wasn't bad, but also, unfortunately lacked seasoning.
The Dazzo's Famous Manicotti was very disappointing unfortunately. The crepe was made nicely, but the manicotti was undercooked, and the ricotta inside was cold.
We ordered the Chicken Parmesan Hero, and the bread was quite good and crispy. Also, the meatballs were tasty and well-seasoned. The chicken, however, tasted a bit overcooked and bland.
We finished up our time at Dazzo's with the Dazzo's Supreme Pizza on recommendation of our server, and unfortunately, the pizza came out burnt, and the dough was soggy and wet, with the pizza falling apart in the middle in most of the slices.
Again, I will give compliments to our server who was incredibly kind and friendly and made our experience very enjoyable overall. I truly was hoping that the food would have been a home run, as I was hoping to have found my new favorite local pizza spot, especially because the decor and environment was so reminiscent of an authentic NY pizza establishment.
I'll probably try this place again in the future, if nothing else just because the service and environment were so nice, but sadly, the food was very dissapointing this first visit.
