"The Empanada Mobile DC's first and only food truck offering mouth-watering deep fried pork, beef, chicken, and vegetarian empanadas. The "Traditional" with shredded beef, Spanish olives, roasted peppers, onions, and cilantro is a top seller, but unique fillings representing a variety of cuisines are offered like jerk chicken, chicken tikka, ginger teriyaki, marinara, bacon cheeseburger, and Philly cheesesteak."

"District Empanadas, an offshoot of farmers market vendor DMV Empanadas, will sell flaky, Latin American pockets at a separate counter holding a display case." - Tierney Plumb
Decent price ($3.50 for one or $9 for three). It lacks the heart of an empanada from Argentina or Peru, but these empanadas try to bring a new taste to this classic dish with crowd pleasing tastes such as BBQ pork or cheese only empanada.

I visited the shop at DC Market and they had a really tasty vegetarian option! Would definitely visit this place again with no hesitation!

They were excellent as a food truck and still so as a stall at the new Union Market. A great selection of empanadas and a $7, three empanada, mix-and-match lunch special.
Service can be a little pokey at lunchtime, but they're frying each batch to order, so that's less of a complaint and more of welcome note.
Support good food and local business.

We got empanadas at Union Market and they were indeed A-OK. I got the chicken one and it tasted like a personal chicken pot pie. My fiancé's had andouille sausage in it. Both were warm and tasted nice. They're a little small and they're definitely fried. I wouldn't necessarily send friends to this booth, but if we were passing it I would happily get more!

Mediocre pre-frozen empanadas fried up until overdone. There's a distinct lack of imagination in the fillings, few options, and no side dishes and nothing resembling a vegetable. These empanadas would be totally acceptable as an auxiliary menu option in a fast food fryer restaurant, but they aren't enough to stand on their own, and the price is steep for what amounts to little better than a deep-fried hot pocket. Better options all around in the market.

Delicious! Kick of flavour and served fresh. Great place to stop for a bite as you walk around the rest of the market. Match it with a beer from one of the beer spots next door!

Delicious, consistently. Trust me. For two years empanadas were a staple in my diet. I know empanadas and DC Empanadas are some of the best I have eaten, ever.
