Hit Hard by Coronavirus, D.C. Food Trucks Search for New Gathering Places | Eater DC

"I learned that DC Slices, which expected to serve roughly 7,000 orders at the Rock N Roll Marathon, lost major event catering and has cut its normal location count by half; founder Zack Graybill said the trucks are staying off the road until Thursday while considering posting outside military facilities, and the company has added delivery—employees making drop-offs in their own cars and an activated UberEats account that is generating higher-than-normal requests of about one to three pies a day." - Tierney Plumb

It was great to have the pizza truck at the Watergate at Landmark condo. It only took a few minutes to get my delicious large pepperoni Pizza ($27).

I contacted DC Slices several weeks before our neighborhood event after a friend’s recommendation. They were responsive at first, and we quickly booked our event for this afternoon. A few days before the event, I reached out to confirm details and ask for a menu to share with neighbors. Everything seemed set. But on the day of the event, we waited and waited. They never showed up. This was our only food truck, so it was incredibly disappointing for the 150+ neighbors who attended to be without food (and beverages). I emailed and sent a Facebook message trying to find out what happened 30 minutes after the event began. I hoped they were running late but still planning to come. They eventually replied when our event had only about an hour left, saying there’d been a mix-up on their end and they’d gone to another location. Our event is clearly listed on their online calendar (still there now, a few hours after the party ended), plus personal correspondence a few days ago, so this mistake was hard to understand. I appreciate that they actually wrote me back to own the mistake, but it doesn’t really make up for the experience. We were left completely pizza-less for our party. Very disappointing experience and poor follow-through for what had started as a promising vendor relationship.

The DC Slices truck comes every week to the Navy Yard in DC. I try something new or I'll get something I have eaten before. Wednesday's he brings wings and they are to DIE for. They sell out fast. The pizza is great, the funnel cake fries are AWESOME!! You can smell them baking from down the street. And most recently I had the tater tots. This truck NEVER disappoints. They are friendly and do their best to get to know their customers. If you get a chance to try DC Slices I say do it!!

Note: they don't have a fixed location and the food trucks is at various locations based on their calendar. The pizza tasted very good. The address is a commercial kitchen, not a restaurant. Hope to try other things on their menu.

Best pizza in the DMV! My favorite place for a sublime cheese pie. Their vegan supreme is also phenomenal. It doesn't stop at their pizzas either - their tater tots are also mouth-wateringly delicious. If I could eat pizza everyday I would and it would be from here.
