Where to Make a Meal Out of Nachos in D.C.

"Pica Taco’s nacho platter can come vegetarian, or with any of the restaurant’s many meat offerings. The chips made in-house are the real star of this dish." - Tajha Lanier, Travis Mitchell

I really appreciate that they stay open later than most places in the area. The tacos were flavorful, but what stood out most was the service. I asked for room-temperature water (they only had cold), and ELISEO went out of his way to buy one for me — a gesture I won’t forget. My only feedback is that the bathroom and dining area could be kept a bit cleaner. Overall, a great experience! 5 stars for ELISEO!

Their fish taco was amazing. I’m truly upset I only had time for one but trust I will be back. The taco was full of flavor. The tilapia was cooked to perfection. The sauce they give you on the side has some kick to it but it definitely adds more flavor to the taco. This is definitely a hidden gem.

The absolute worst Spanish food I ever had … no FLAVOR AT ALL … this is for ppl that don’t know authentic food it was str8 blland and the meat tasted old mold reused or sum like a bad aftertaste then I ordered steak taco platter … they gave me old watery ground beef and dry chicken I’m so disappointed …

I was a first time customer via door dash on 7/29 I only ordered the burrito bowl. At first I was a little conflicted by all the food being piled on top of each other, but that didn’t stop me from digging in right away! While eating it was delicious, but after eating 3-4 hours later I stared to vomit profusely. For a whole 24-48 I experienced sweats, chills, diarrhea and vomit. This is my first and last time ever eating here!!

I love Pica Taco! I order from them via Amazon Restaurants and they are always fast on delivery and the food is fresh and hot. The food tasted great and portions were generous for the price. There are plenty of options for vegetarians!

Ordered directly from the restaurant online. Arrived and they hadn't even received my order. Front counter lady doesn't speak English so getting refunded was difficult.

Google
I've been eating here for years and have never been disappointed. I stopped by to grab some carryout today, my usual order - a chicken burrito supreme. Once again they nail it. The food is every bit as good as it's ever been, the portions large and satisfying. The staff is always friendly and great. And while restaurant prices have increased substantially over the last couple of years, this spot remains a great value, square meal, square deal.

Loved the food here. Ordered a veggie burrito and a side order of yuca with the white sauce. Everything was absolutely delicious

Yelp
Good food and very friendly team on staff. Grateful they're open late on weekdays. Reliable.

Yelp
Little hole in the wall Mexican spot. Very unassuming from the outside. Tacos Tuesday is 4 tacos for the price of 3. Totally came out to $15 I think. Two ladies working there were friendly and gave recommendations. Shredded chicken had some zest. Fish tacos had a little breading and didn't have a overly fish taste. Service was quick. Tortillas were pretty average.

Yelp
Got the taco platter which was 2 tacos - 1 barbacoa and 1 al pastor - and a side or rice and beans. Total came to under $13 and food came out in about 5 minutes. Can't say these were the best tacos I've had (the corn tortillas were like the cheap kind you get at the supermarket), but overall they were good. The meats were cooked and seasoned well. The rice and beans were cooked well but pretty standard. But this was a great find for something good food that was quick, cheap, and filling. Very much a no frills restaurant for a city that doesn't have many hole in the wall spots.

Yelp
I don't like to do this, especially with a newer restaurant, but this was so horribly, obviously bad that they must realize it. This can't be just "a bad day". This was a pickup order. We started with their "Quezo'N Chips" (sic). Now, this is something I always get when it's on the menu rather than just chips and salsa, and really, I know chili con queso, and man, this wasn't it. This was just a bunch of cheap, almost tasteless cheese product which they simply melted (and was almost rock solid by the time it got to my house). I mean, no spice, no chili flavor, and not even any real cheese flavor. Even a half decent cheddar just melted would have been edible, but not this. My son and I actually didn't eat it after just like 3 bites. Trust me, that's the very first time ever we didn't completely devour queso. That was not a good start, but then we had our "Burrito Supremes". I ordered mine with ground beef, and at this point it's important to note that DC Taco & Wings sits in the same location as our well-liked Pica Taco used to be in. Considering that the menu has a lot of similarities to Pica Taco, we'd hoped that there would be some similarities, especially in our favorite thing, the Burrito Supreme. I cannot tell you how disappointed I was cutting into my burrito. The filling was LITERALLY 92% rice; it was a rice burrito, with a few black beans thrown in and, only after searching really hard, an incredibly small amount of ground beef (which could not actually be discerned in the taste, only when looking at it). I cannot stress to you how out of character it is for what happened next; I did not eat my burrito. That is almost beyond imagination. Now, I could be a bit off in the relative concentration of rice vs beans, for example. It might have been 88% rice and a bit more black beans perhaps, but I am absolutely not wrong in saying that the amount of ground beef was almost completely imperceptible. Again, I DIDN'T EAT MY BURRITO! My mother, God bless her soul, would not believe that unless she actually saw me not eat it, but not eat it I did. My son's Burrito Supreme was a barbacoa one, and while still very chintzy with the meat, it had a bit more, but he indicated that the barbacoa was practically tasteless, and he also ate not more than half his burrito. Again, I really don't like to write such a terrible review for such a new place, but I feel like I've been ripped off. I can't imagine this place will stay in business. Certainly, you won't get an update from me.... I'm never going back, especially since Judy's is just up 14th Street from this place.

Yelp
I've been a fan of this place for maybe 10 years, back when they used to be called "Pica Taco". Their food is amazing, and the staff are friendly. Recently I went in to place an order. While they were preparing my order, a small cockroach crawled out of a gap in their stainless steel food preparation table next to the register, wiggled its antennae, and went back inside the food prep table. The fact that the cockroach was small means that there is a breeding population inside the restaurant. This little bug was born there very recently, and its parents had plenty to eat, and the managers haven't done what any restaurant needs to do to prevent vermin from infesting their food preparation area, and the food that you might eat. Case in point. Have you ever seen a cockroach in a Chipotle restaurant? No, me neither. And you likely never will. It's not hard to do, it just involves not being careless and cutting corners. I don't know how long it's going to take for me to feel confident to return and give them another chance. Maybe never. My stomach is still turning.

Yelp
One of my favorite taco place and to go place, service is good and good food, they have everything from tacos, burritos, l burger and wings. whatelse you will look and they open late night too.. the ambience is nice place..

Yelp
If you are looking for a taco and wing restaurant this is not the spot. Unless you are really hungry and want to get full with a quick not so great meal. I order the wing and tacos platter and all I can say is that the tacos were flavorless, they added some thin juiceless limons, the sauces for the tacos and wings were the tiniest containers that could only be used for either one taco or one wing. I will say that I only got to enjoy their fries only because they were crunchy and not soggy. I paid a little over $15 for their three tacos and 3 wings. P.s if you don't leave a tip for them taking your order they'll look at you mean.

Yelp
Take forever to get my order ready, should have been ready. Still waited an extra 10 mins after being told another 5 mins. Twice at that

Justin D.

Yelp
They've been in the area forever, but now have a new name. They're always a great option for burritos.
