Ivy City’s New City Winery Is Now Scheduled to Open by Late April | Eater DC

"In Dupont Circle I watched DC Tap House quietly close: the local bar at 1825 M Street NW, which attempted a rebrand last fall, unceremoniously disappeared last month and left only two farewell tweets linking to Semisonic’s “Closing Time” and Pink Floyd’s “Goodbye Cruel World.”" - Warren Rojas

A nice deck overlooking the course makes this a decent stop for lunch even if you aren’t playing golf here. The setup is a bit odd as you enter through the pro shop and the counter is shared between food and golf purchases. While my patty melt was tasty, $18 seems a tad high

Google
Good food, friendly staff, and great outdoor seating options makes this a stop worth making.

Google
They ditched most of their menu and never took advantage of their redecorated outdoor space, finally covering the pool table since noonone was playing due to lack of good cues or chalk. Maybe I should have given it a 2, as it's getting worse not better. The largest "to go" cup to bring on the course with you is now only 16oz but they did add a frozen margarita which isn't bad at all.

Great place to Golf then enjoy some lunch, & brews, with friends & family...

Google
A nice place. We live nearby and decided to walk there. Walked into a Golf store and walked out looking for the place. Went around the side and walked back into the store. I guess with the name Tap House, I was expecting it to be a brewery but it turned out to be a side counter with some taps and a kitchen in the back. The staff was friendly and the food was good.

Google
What could be a wonderful happy hour and early evening summer spot has been relegated to a meer snack bar. Great location in Cupertino foothills, unfortunately the management has a lack of vision regarding potential and business possibilities. Closes at about 630 pm even with a golf course full of players....this place is just dying for someone to come in and take the bull by the horns and make what's already a nice local golf facility a cash cow. Shame on them. One last comment is the staff really seems to care less about the customers and more about how to keep from working. Sad.

Google
Enjoyed my BLT with onion rings here. Thought the sandwich was a bit on the small side but tasty. Onion rings were great crispy, sweet, and not greasy. Took awhile to place our orders but food was served fairly quickly.

Clubhouse at Deep Cliff Golf Club. Nice outdoor deck. Very pricey beer ($11 for 12 oz pour!)

Yelp
The prices weren't accurate, not a resturaunt literally a pro shop if you aren't golfing you don't need to come here.

Yelp
The menu was cheese sticks, French fries , onion rings, wine from a box or a can of beer This place is not as advertised
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
If you want food do not go here. It is A golf coarse and it's menus is French fries, onion rings or cheese sticks. When asked if they have wine, he said "in a box". Forget what you may see on Yelp. It is a fabrication of someone's sick humor.

Yelp
If you're hunting for the decent casual dining experience, this place would not disappoint you. This charming spot has quickly become my go-to brunch / dining destination. Good vibe, Good food, friendly staff, and no crowds.

Yelp
We should have checked on Yelp also. We were expecting this whole area would be tables like a restaurant. That's how their website shows it. In actuality, there are only 3 indoor tables and all the rest is a pro golf store. It's like you're eating food in the shoe department of a department store. That said, if you know your expectations going in, the place was ok. Think of it as a food shack, a place with good outdoor seating, and ok food. It's not a restaurant though. The outdoor seating looked nice, but not on a sunny hot day. There are 4 tall bar tables on the shady side of the building, but it was still too hot for us. The indoor music was pleasantly kept at a low level. The "salad" with the battered chicken was only shredded lettuce, not an actual side salad. They did provide extra sauce for the onion rings. You go outside to collect your food from a serving window, when they tell your name. ( AC, shade, hamburger, cheese sandwich, onion rings, sauce, store, not as expected. )

Yelp
Cool little tap house on the golf course - kind of a strange setup, but the burger was good!

Yelp
A good place for lunch with a view. We had our first lunch experience here and must admit their burgers are great. We had the Big Daddy from Cincinnati and the Nachos (against my own judgement not to order it) and fries. The burger is made with fresh ground beef patties and the fries tasted like freshly cut potato fries. They were both perfectly made. The nachos do not use fresh cheese and use the nacho cheese spread which I don't care for. I knew it but ordered per my son's request. The service is great and the atmosphere is nice and relaxing. Love sitting there and just having a peaceful lunch away from noise and cars passing by...

Yelp
My husband and I went to the DC tap house for brunch recently. We were pretty excited with the reviews and the unexpected groupon code we stumbled upon but we were disappointed with the options and taste. I ordered the build your own breakfast with eggs, potatoes, pancake and toast. Hubby ordered the breakfast burger and coffee. Everything was tasting bland and quite ordinary. The coffee is bad. It did not match up to the expectations and the pricing as well. The view of the gold court is good. Not worth a second visit for sure.

Yelp
it's in the golf course, parking was easy. There are indoor and outdoor sitting. Menu selection was rather simple and more in the pricey site for the portion and quality. However, I have to admit the cashier gentlemen was really nice and patience since i have hard time pulling my groupon since the connection was bad. The server was very funny, super energetic and make our day. Not sure if i would return. . .

Yelp
Hands down the worst run kitchen. I have played here and given the benefit of the doubt for years but it has never gotten better. You are better off bringing a bag lunch.
google avatar

Gary J.

Yelp
The new Tap House has 8 brews on tap and a totally new look with 3 flat screen TVs to watch news, sports, and more. Best egg sandwich in town.
google avatar

Tammy Y.

Yelp
Really nice and reasonably priced cafe/diner with seats over looking the golf course. It's a great place to go if you're golfing or even if you just want a quick sandwich or salad for lunch. They've got a really nice variety of items and the food came out pretty quickly. We tried the clubhouse and BLT sandwich and both were good (price $8-9). You can choose a side of potato salad, fruit, or some other stuff as well. P.s. There's also a check-in offer for happy hour!

Yelp
This is a solid lunch spot tucked away in Cupertino. It's located at the golf course entrance, right across the street from Blackberry Farm. I ordered a club sandwich on toasted sourdough bread with a side of onion rings. The sandwich was amazing; I'm a sucker for sourdough bread and it was toasted perfectly. The onion rings were a little heavy on batter but still very good regardless. The place was nice, tidy, and service was great. The cashier was helpful in helping me maximize my Groupon value. He let me know I had $2 left and could get avocado. Sure! I will say prices are pretty high for what you get but I totally get it....it's right in front of the golf course, gotta cater to your demographic. I would drop by again but only if I was in the immediate area, say ACTUALLY golfing or at Blackberry Farm.

Yelp
So I had purchased a groupon so we could try this place - my daughter and I went for lunch a day before it was to expire. I've been having issues with my phone so to be safe I printed out the Groupon and brought it with me. After ordering, we were told they would NOT honor the paper print out - even though there's a bar code - something about how "other" people would try to cheat them by using the same paper copy over and over - so I had to bring up my app. Not sure how that works but given my issues with the phone I couldn't get into the Groupon app and ended up with too many tries and would have to wait 30 mins to try again. They knew I was having trouble, a line was forming and they still wouldn't accommodate us. I felt so much pressure as I felt they were treating me as though I was trying to scam them. I had them cancel my order and then left because there was no way I was going to wait 30 mins to try to get back into the Groupon app. And did I say I had a paper copy which Groupon said they should accept. A couple of things here - first - there should be something that states when you purchase the Groupon for DC Tap, that they will NOT HONOR the paper copy - second - why am I presumed guilty of something I've never done for an issue I didn't cause or was even aware of? It was embarrassing and frustrating. If the owner had hoped to get more customers other than those who were ending their golf game by offering Groupon - then try to treat us with more respect! I've contacted Groupon and have traded my voucher for another establishment. I refuse to come to DC Taps EVER! Even if we were to play golf here - this will never be an end stop for us. To be treated so poorly and the fact that I've live in the community for almost 30 years, and my kids have taken lessons here as well as we've played golf here over the years just makes me so sad. Not a community friendly establishment.

Yelp
My son and I came here today (a Saturday) for lunch. Used a Groupon voucher. Other reviewers have mentioned poor internet connection and problems pulling up Groupon, but I had no problem. The cashier guy was super friendly. Food was good, large portions, excellent t value. We had the cowboy burger with fries and the clubhouse with chips. Everything was freshly made. There's a variety of local craft beer on tap (not your standard chain taps of Bud Light, Coors, etc). We ordered inside and sat outside since we had our dog with us. The cashier brought our food out to us along with a surprise treat for our dog. The outside seating area is clean with a nice view of the green, and there a pool table and shuffleboard (free to use).

Yelp
We love DC Tap House! Kathy is a great hostess in the bar & grill. Wish she were there every day. The Food is terrific! Portions are plentiful. Everything is fresh made. The burgers are awesome. As if you bbq'd them in your own backyard, but better. The sandwiches fresh & tasty. The fries are the best! So is their potato salad, made fresh daily. Nice selection of wine, beer (cans, bottles & on tap) & soft drinks. Seating available inside & outside. Great views while you eat & relax with friends. You may even see a family of deer strolling along. The golf course is beautifully kept up. The greens gorgeous. Putting green is wonderful. Lessons available. Trees, streams, sand traps, all placed in a wonderful design. Nice pro shop. Carts. If you haven't been yet, what are you waiting for?! We go there just to eat all the time. It's truly a Beautiful Place. Thank you DC Tap for so many great meals! & thank you Kathy for taking time to get to know patrons & making us feel right at home.

Yelp
What a cool spot. We've been golfing here regularly this summer, and we were looking forward to trying out the Tap House. Attached to the club house and overlooking the 9th and 18th holes, it's a great place to enjoy a cold brew after 9 holes on a weekday evening, or after a longer round of 18. The previous reviewers' mentions of plenty of beers on-tap were spot on. So why not 4-5 stars like the rest of the reviews? Several things to improve on. 1. We ordered beers, but the super-nice server/cashier couldn't pour them. Then the gentlemen in line behind us ordered beers. We all sat around twiddling our thumbs until the cook caught a break and poured (out of order), about 10 minutes later. One of the other guys almost took one of our beers, because the cook had no idea who ordered what. The 3 stars is basically for this alone...who waits 10 minutes to get a beer at tap house? 2. Happy hour looks to be 3-6pm, but why does Yelp say the place closes at 5:30pm? Missed opportunity for customers. 3. Fruit and veggies were put out on a platter across from the bar at 5:45 (after yelp closing time?), but there was no sign or indication from staff that they were complimentary...were they? Don't know. The pineapple was great. 4. Unrelated to the bar - but indicative of the disorganization - the back nine was completely jammed, with groups going 1, then 4, then 2, then 1, then 4...no one managing the start to keep it moving smoothly. We gave up after one hole and went to the bar. Next time. Looking forward to coming back soon... Just a couple of small but important details that could really make this place a stand-out.

Yelp
This place has a great breakfast ! Delicious and best of all is the great service. Ernesto is super friendly and accommodating. We don't even play golf but come here to enjoy the ambiance, food, and staff!

Yelp
This is the perfect to relax and blow off some steam after playing 18 holes at the executive course. The pool table and shuffleboard add a nice touch to the outdoor seating. Their beer selection may be the strongest and most robust in the South Bay region. Brandon is more than happy to provide top shelf service and Norma cooks up some great grub. If you feel the need to indulge, I might recommend the Kitchen Sink.

Yelp
Awesome service at the clubhouse! We come here for the beer, food and views. Thanks for the hospitality, Brendan!

Yelp
Here is a review from another party ....couldn't agree more: We love DC Tap House! The Food is terrific! Portions are plentiful. Everything is fresh made. The burgers are awesome. As if you BBQ them in your own backyard, but better. The sandwiches fresh & tasty. The fries are the best! So is their potato salad, made fresh daily. Nice location, parking is easy. Fair pricing and great staff. Do not miss this opportunity !!!

Yelp
Great food great service! Not your typical golf lunch:). Recommend the California BLT and the Big Daddy from Cincinnati. Wolf Pup IPA and plenty more good beers on tap.

Yelp
Went to this place for lunch and had a cowboy burger and kitchen sink fries....everything was awesome. Really good burger and kitchen sink fries had onion rings and blue cheese and jalapeños, Just awesome with a beer. And they had 12 craft beers on tap.

Yelp
Perfect Saturday lunch spot with a great selection of beer and food! Thanks for taking care of us Brendan!

Yelp
I am giving a two star not for the food but for the older guy taking the orders. What a waste of space. Zero personality and really doesn't know what he is doing. Thank goodness for Jose! We love him to bits and he makes up for what this guy is lacking (like customer service). He adds no value since Jose cooks, delivers food and cleans up. He has been like this since several times we come up in the evening for a bite. He must know someone there otherwise I would definitely let him go. Get better help. I think you would get more business there. It's a great golf course; just need to improve on your staff.

Yelp
The good: Great selection of beers, cute patio overlooking the Deep Cliff golf course, big TVs, outdoor pool table, decent clubhouse menu with good food. The bad: The service. We waited ten minutes in front of an empty front counter to place our order, and then the young woman working the register seemed really confused by the food we requested and unsure how to enter the order. It also took her nearly five full minutes to figure out which of their beer taps dispensed the beer I ordered. I ended up having to finally point to it. It wasn't just us - we overheard the next people to order having to tell her repeatedly that they wanted TWO orders of onion rings, not one. She was young, and I'm willing to chalk it up to inexperience. But she was only one of two people working on a Saturday evening - the other being the cook - and they should have had someone there training her if she was indeed as brand new as she appeared. This place is near my father-in-law's new house, and I'll be looking out for an improvement in service next time we visit.

Gregory Y.

Yelp
Went to deep cliff Tap House. Had a great time. Lots of different beers on tap. I got a weird Rose beer which was surprisingly good. The service was excellent. Love the onion rings and old school club sandwich. Would definitely recommend.

Steve M.

Yelp
Who doesn't like sitting outside on a nice, sunny day. You even get some action watching hackers whack their ball into the water right below you. The place, inside and out, is very well kept. It's good bar & grill food with some interesting twists and an awesome selection of beer on tap and wines. Both beer and food are reasonably priced (not sure where some of these other reviewers are eating that think this is pricey). That is enough to keep me coming back, but the service is just stellar. They are super attentive and friendly, will give you tastes of the beers so you can pick the right one, and make every accommodation to make the customer happy. I'm going back this weekend!

Mickey Z.

Yelp
Got a quick lunch here today and was pleasantly surprised. We got the California burger and the Original burger, fries and onion rings. The burger meat (combo of brisket and angus beef) was delicious. Great value.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast and good brews! Bright sunny spot to relax after a round of golf

Yelp
Eat here often. Good food and Jose and Tony are great. Breakfast is very good. Lunch as well. The remodel has made a big difference. They rotate the beer menu so you get a lot of choices.

Deb R.

Yelp
Bought a Groupon for this place which apparently has recently gone thru some good renovations. The food was really good, the prices very decent, the service awesome, the setting great, and the beers wonderful! We will go back without a Groupon!!! Perfect little spot away from the mainstream to enjoy a nice afternoon.

Dennis Y.

Yelp
Dropped in for lunch after a few hours at the Rod & Gun Club up the road with a few friends. It's be renovated with a good choice of craft beers, etc. Prices are very affordable for sandwiches, salads & sides. The food is above average & ample. It can get fairly crowded, especially after the golfers finish up their rounds. Lots of regulars.

Sarah L.

Yelp
Great food after a long day of golfing and great service. Plus, super cute guys!

michael b.

Yelp
Enjoyed a round of golf at Deep Cliff. The course has had a serious up date and is well worth your time and money for a short course. The restaurant has also been redone and is contemporary without being foo foo. Prices are in line and the basic fare is nicely done. There are multiple TV screens for viewing various sporting events. They also have guest beer nights where small producers come and pour their beers. The patio has had the biggest face lift. There are now two huge screens to give you relief from the direct sun light. The majority of the golfers are locals who appear to be close to or actually retired. Well worth you time and money.

Eric G.

Yelp
Has a fantastic time playing golf and got the Cobb sandwich in the cafe. Yumm it was great my chef Jose was fantastic
