Listen to me! We are in Southeast DC, and I have finally found it. A Black-owned smokehouse that actually knows what they’re doing! It’s bold, it’s authentic, and it’s bloody brilliant.
Let’s start with the ribs. A full rack. Dry-rubbed with precision. Whether you use the BBQ sauce on the side or eat them exactly as they come, the meat is stunning. It’s tender, it’s succulent, and it pulls away from the bone with absolute ease. That is how you treat a product with respect!
And the hush puppies? Wow. They are so good they make you shut up, sit down, and eat them as fast as humanly possible! The texture is spot on.
Then we move to the wings—perfectly cooked, skin rendered beautifully, served with fries that are piping hot and crisp. Not soggy, not limp, just perfection. And the Brussels sprouts? They were perfect. The char, the seasoning—it’s a masterclass in how to handle vegetables in a smokehouse.
