Came in here for takeout a couple days ago, ordered the half cuban with yuca fries and an order of tostones and...wow. I'm coming back.
Cuban sandwich - this was just amazing! The taste was perfect, and it paired wonderfully with the garlic cilantro sauce but was also good alone. The half was definitely enough, wish they offered halves of their other sandwiches (I do want to try their pan con bistec, pan con lechon or medianoche) because these are pretty big. I'll admit I've never had a cuban sandwich before this because don't normally like ham at all, but with the mustard and pickle the flavor works for me.
Yucas fritas - these were also excellent. Thick cut, fresh and neither too salty nor too bland. Also great either with garlic cilantro sauce or alone.
Tostones - these were pretty tasty, fried to perfect a texture. They were a little bland alone, but just a bit of garlic cilantro sauce and just like magic, perfect tostones.
Garlic cilantro sauce - I may buy one of those big jars of these they sell next time, I could eat this by the gallon.
Spicy sauce - too spicy for *me* (I can handle medium Tostitos salsa at best), but I'd imagine that's why it's called spicy sauce! Spice lovers will probably enjoy, the tomato flavor was great otherwise.
Overall, everything I ate here was delicious. Service was friendly, the wait for my food was very short, and the atmosphere of the cafe genuinely felt like I was back at a cafe in Calle Ocho in Miami. There's a lot else want to try on this menu, honestly - besides the sandwiches I mentioned I am really interested in the palomillo steak, the Tuesday arroz con pollo special, and the empanadas. Not to mention their coffee and fresh juice/smoothie selection (I've never had mamey, and I want to try). I would recommend this place to anyone who wants really good cuban or just a delicious, inexpensive meal!
