"There are plenty of incredible late-night spots in Koreatown, but the outdoor patio at Ddong Ggo might be our favorite. Walking into this massive beer garden at midnight on a Saturday feels like you’ve stepped into the best party in town. Everyone is drinking pitchers of beer and smoking cigarettes (a lot of cigarettes), and the only time they take a break from either is when a gigantic kimchi pancake hits the table. They’re currently open from 5pm-2am every day except Monday." - brant cox, arden shore, nikko duren, sylvio martins, garrett snyder
"This beer garden in Koreatown is certainly not where you’d take your HR department for a team dinner, but if you’re looking for a spot that can handle your chaotic and unpredictable group of friends, Ddong Ggo is it. Though it’s known mainly for beer towers, never-ending soju bottles, and chain-smoking college kids, their gigantic food menu is secretly excellent and ideal for sharing with large groups of friends who will probably get up and leave unannounced at some point. Make sure the kimchi pancake, honey butter chicken, and spicy rice cakes all hit the table." - jess basser sanders, brant cox, brett keating

"The name of this mostly-outdoor bar/restaurant roughly translates to “butthole,” so it’s definitely a frills-free spot. It fills up on weekend nights, and it should be your first stop on a night out, since the food is perfect for all the drinking you’ll be doing - things like kimchi seafood pancakes and honey fried chicken. The patio is definitely smoky (you’re allowed to smoke, and everyone does), but if that’s something you’re cool with, welcome to your new favorite place." - Brett Keating
"Just because you’re “going out” doesn’t mean that you need to stand on a table at a karaoke bar, or get square-dancing lessons from a Cher impersonator. For a chill night out that’s still more fun than sitting at home drinking LaCroix, head to Koreatown’s Ddong Ggo. It’s a tented-in beer garden where you’ll find people eating kimchi pancakes and chain-smoking while they watch the Lakers game. It’s a bit like if you took a house party and moved it to a parking lot on Western Ave., and that’s why it’s so fun." - brett keating
