Where To Eat In Miami When You're Running Late

"Maybe you accidentally stayed at the beach 45 minutes longer than planned. In your defense, it was a gorgeous day. But nonetheless, you now have to move like Usain Bolt in order to meet your spouse’s parents at the unreasonably early hour of 6pm. So just make a quick pit stop at Buon Pane, a super casual and very small Italian bakery in South Beach that has a counter full of freshly baked Italian food. Most of that stuff is ready to eat, including the rotating selection of sweet pastries and our favorite thing to get here: the panzerotti. Buon Pane’s versions are like little Italian hot pockets that can fit in one hand, and while the fillings change, they’re all excellent. They can heat them up for you in under a minute too." - carlos c olaechea, ryan pfeffer

Where To Eat When You’re Trying To Not Spend Money

"South Beach is exactly the kind of neighborhood that would make you complain about how expensive Miami is. And the next time that happens, walk over to this tiny Italian bakery and spend a few minutes staring at all the very good baked things that aren’t way overpriced. Get a slice of pizza for $2.50, a breakfast calzone with egg, ham, and mozzarella for $5, or walk out with an entire baguette for less than $3 just because you can." - ryan pfeffer

Buon Pane Italiano Review - South Beach - Miami - The Infatuation

"Buon Pane is a small, casual Italian bakery in South Beach that has a counter full of freshly baked Italian food. The pizza is fine, but branch out and try one of the calzones. De Lucia is a traditional Italian bakery that brings the authentic taste of Italy to Miami Beach. Everything is incredibly fresh, made with high-quality ingredients and great care. It’s the perfect spot for a classic Italian breakfast – from flaky croissants and a rich variety of traditional pastries to a savory selection that’s just as impressive. One of its rare gems is the Italian-style bread and rolls, baked daily using traditional methods – something truly hard to find in the area. A special mention goes to Vincenzo, the owner – a genuinely kind and passionate person who puts his heart into everything he does. Whether you live in Miami or are just visiting, De Lucia Bakery is a must-try.

Google
Fantastic authentic family Italian bakery! A slice of Italy 🇮🇹 in Miami. Pastries were amazing, especially the oversized sugar donut filled to order with Nutella or cream. Good, strong coffee. There is a large assortment of pastries, sandwiches and other treats and lunch items.

Google
For a smaller shop, the food is great. Everything in there is fresh and the staff was really nice. The seating area inside was clean and the decor was nice.

Google
Fresh products, friendly staff, and a super convenient location close to the beach. Everything tasted great and the atmosphere was welcoming. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area!

Google
Walked in and everyone is speaking Italian . Very authentico . Everything looks amazing . Settled for a plain donuts and pistachio croissant… it was AMAZING . My son stole the croissant . He’s lucky he’s cute

Google
De Lucia Bakery is a highly recommended spot in Miami Beach. The freshly baked goods, made daily, taste amazing and there’s a great selection to suit every taste. The staff is exceptionally friendly, making the visit even more enjoyable. Considering the area, the prices are quite reasonable. We highly recommend it!

Google
I have been coming here for years and always recommend this place to my customers visiting in town. The doughnuts and croissants have always been amazing. Before today, I would give this place 5 stars. However, I tried the butterfly pastry (like an elephant ear, aka Palmier) and it was terrible!!! Not made with real butter like the other pastries I’ve tried. Didn’t taste very fresh either… Had to throw it away. The woman at the register told me I had to “purchase” something else. They could not offer me anything in exchange; even if I didn’t like it. What a waste $8.03 plus tip. What’s worse is, I do not feel like a valued customer; as they do not care about recitative business. Good customer service is hard to find. I won’t be recommending this establishment anymore. Such a shame!

Google
This place is not worth any walk to go and get. The stuff isn’t even that fresh as with most bakeries. Everything is dried out like it’s been sitting since last night which it probably has. And the employee got my order wrong like three times to get three simple items. I would not recommend going here. The prices aren’t even that great. Someone said they were great they’re not.

Yelp
Lovely Italian bakery with lots of fresh made pastries, cookies and breads as well as imported panettone, large and small, for the holidays. So many things I wanted to try. If I lived closer, would definitely be here more often.

Yelp
This is a great place to have breakfast in South Beach. The prices are very good considering the area. Sandwiches are good and croissants are fine. Coffee is not bad. There are seats and table outside to relax. Very convenient location.

Yelp
Coffee was just ok. Almond croissant was delicious. Focaccia was beyond terrible. I bought an entire $12 loaf, went home and tried a piece of that stale, tasteless bread and tossed the whole thing. The other options looked mediocre in presentation, but hopefully taste better than they appear!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent Italian bakery, everything made in house. The coffee was amazing. All the baked goods were great

Yelp
We came here for a quick breakfast close to the beach and were satisfied and full up until dinner! We each got two of their baked goods and thought they were both very delicious - I'd recommend any of their pastries honestly, I did enjoy the one stuffed with Nutella the most I think. Their coffee was also delicious and had a good strength. The folks working were also kind and willing to answer any of our questions - definitely friendly and nice overall! The store itself is a little small, however they do have a large table where you can sit and enjoy your food. It wasn't too busy when we came so we were lucky to enjoy the large table to ourselves. If you're looking for a local, cute bakery/cafe to enjoy a nice breakfast or early lunch, definitely stop by!

Yelp
Cutest Italian bakery in South Beach! I love the no frills, chill vibe and lovely breads! They are known for their baguettes among other things. They have sandwiches and pizza as well. I got a bombolone filled with custard and raspberry jam along with a coffee. The pastry was fluffy, light and not too sweet. The coffee was perfect! They have stools to sit on a enjoy inside or a couple of chairs outside. Parking is hard to find in this area so I parked at a public garage on 7th street. Enjoy!

Yelp
Was staying in the area for spring break and wanted to grab some pastries and baked goods to-go for breakfast and lunch. Stumbled into Buon Pane and ordered the bacon and cheese calzone, and chocolate croissants. The calzone and croissants were good but not amazing. The prices were on the high end as to be expected for the area. The Italian bread and baguettes looked good, and I would consider coming back for those.

Yelp
Quaint little Italian bakery on the car heavy 5th Street. There's a little outdoor eating space with two benches and a stool as a makeshift table, but not much else. Thankfully the pastries pack a big taste to make up for the small space. Ham & Cheese Calzone: This is a really a great hearty breakfast. Calzone dough, so thicker than an empanada and bigger too. Lots of cheese! The cheese by the dough was evenly melted and the cheese inwards was still a little shredded, but they both tasted great. A decent amount of savory ham too. Delicious and filling. Custard & Raspberry Hand Pie: Buttery pastry dough with a big dollop of raspberry jam in the middle. And then some drier cooked custard surrounding the raspberry. Danish-like, but better. Went great with coffee. Nutella Bombolone: A really huge bombolone. Unfortunately, the Nutella filling was not huge. I'd say about 3/4s of the doughnut was not touched by filling, so kinda dry. I would have actually preferred a smaller bombolone that had a more generous Nutella distribution.

Carla D.

Yelp
Ugh what a disappointment. Everything looks beautiful but actually stale and flavorless
google avatar

Parker S.

Yelp
A great small Italian bakery on one of the main drags of Miami Beach. Prices are rather cheap and everything is prepared when you walk in the door. The food: We ordered two chocolate croissants and a Nutella madeline. The croissants were really great with a buttery taste and not too much filling. My favorite was the Madeline as it was delicious. We also had two cappuccinos, just good coffee nothing too special. Other than not having a lot of seating, there isn't a reason not to come try some delicious pastries/coffee

Yelp
Best donut of my life!! The size of my face!! Everything here is made from scratch! We had a massive Nutella-filled donut, a slice of pesto-cheese pizza-sandwich type thing and a bottle of water for under $6! Great for breakfast or lunch!

Paolo L.

Yelp
Something change, I had great bread and bomboloni with no problem, however, I just purchased a Napoletano Panino with ham and cheese that was the worst thing I ever had. it ended in the garbage. I am sorry, because it has been good for the last 3 plus years, now they have Italian/Venezuelan stuff.

Lisa S.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars, I would. The food was absolutely terrible. Cheap ingredients and so stale that I would imagine some things would not be safe to eat. I should have known better because the bakery smelled more like cleaning products than it did like flour and butter. Not recommended.
google avatar

Yelp
Had breakfast while staying in hotel across the street! Flaky, Hugh, delicious pastries and donuts bigger than I've ever seen! All kinds of coffee and good prices with smiling service! What more could you ask for! Even has a few seats indoors and outside!

Yelp
I will like to start this review by thanking the owner of this business for remaining open. We were looking for food and it was such a difficult task. There was a great selection for food, snacks and pastries to choose from the menu. They also habeverage choices including coffee, sodas, juices and water. Really enjoy the ham-cheese calzone, it was so delicious that it didn't make it for the picture. Also tried one of the pastries. Lots of layers of crunchiness and great flavor with a very unique touch of sweetness.

Yelp
Nice bakery with lot of pastries and breakfast selections! The ladies who were serving were pleasant. Got a raspberry pastry which was delicious and a calzone with egg cheese and ham and it alright. Usually used to stop in for the filled donuts which are great. The place is small but has cute decor.
google avatar

Lynette B.

Yelp
I have had the most amazing spinach and cheese croissant and a not-so-amazing one. Perhaps yesterday was an off day but it took a while to get the order and the pastry did not taste as fresh and crisp as it had tasted the last time I visited the bakery. I will say their sweet shell-shaped pastry was quite good. I definitely will give this place another shot because I still have dreams of that perfect croissant I had here a couple of months ago.
google avatar

Dana D.

Yelp
Crazy cheap prices for really great pastries. Scarfed my food down so fast I forgot to take photos ‍ There's only one high table and a couple spots right outside to eat, so plan accordingly. We ended up snacking real quick then going back to order a bunch more stuff to pack for a beach picnic.

Yelp
By far the best tiramisu I've ever had! Wish I had a snapshot of it, but my boyfriend ate it all, got a second one, and he ate all of that as well! They really don't skip out on the coffee flavor and the ratio to cream is perfect. It costs about $10, but worth it and decently big. The staff is friendly and the bakery is kept very clean and organized. Pastries are everywhere! Baguettes are $2! Fresh cannolis prepared right in front of me! I'll definitely be stopping by here more.
google avatar

Stacie C.

Yelp
The latte here was good. I had an omelette with turkey sandwich which was ok. I should've ask for some type of sauce.
google avatar

Sam S.

Yelp
Amazing and fresh. Skipped our horrible hotel breakfast and had an amazing brunch here. Fresh pastries, pizza, breads and a lot more. We had the croissant with ham. It was so fresh and tasty. We had the vegetable roll and it was amazing. Coffee is good too. Good food good price. Would def come back again!!

Michael S.

Yelp
Excellent service, good variety of Italian baked goods and all reasonably priced. Eggplant parmigiana entree was excellent.
google avatar

Pallavi J.

Yelp
Perfect place for a morning coffee, croissants and cake. Its only a few minutes away from the beach. Everything on offer is deliciously good. Specially the pista flavor cake (in picture). We absolutely loved it. They bake most of the stuff on site, but be mindful of the fact that everything can get over pretty quick, the place is always buzzing with people.

Yelp
Delicious and fresh croissants & coffee. Nice local spot! Pizza Slices Italian coffee

Yelp
Authentic Italian bakery, super friendly Italian staff. Had both pizza, and desserts

Yelp
Nice and delicious italian bakery very close to the south point beach. Polite and gentle staff. Very gorgeous food! I had breakfast with berries tart and cappuccino. Finally a not burned cappuccino and a very delicious tart. It was soft and rich! I recommend it! I also appreciated the white "focaccia". If you like to eat not only for survive but eat and feel the tasty and remember the flavor, i think that this is a good place. Moreover, the cost is accessible and this is amazing!

Yelp
We bought one cream-filled donut and it was delicious. We compared it to Rosetta bakery, and it was a solid contender for only $3.50. It doesn't have the floral taste of Rosetta's (which has a lemony, lavender scent), but the cream to dough ratio is better from Buon, and the dough has a slightly chewier density than Rosetta'a. I think I actually prefer Buon Pane's version of Bombolone. This is a solid bakery. If you're near 5th and Alton, it's a good one to go. (My favorite is in Spain so that's the one that gets a 5 star... It was in Genoa and there, it's called xuxho.)
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely delicious !!! This is a gem of a bakery and a wonderful place to stop before you head home. The bread is the best and the pastries are hard to resist. You haVe to try the brioche bread with the creme filling and the tiramisu. It's worth breaking your diet over- enjoy!!!
google avatar

Marc F.

Yelp
Ok so this little bakery is the best! I used to work 2 blocks away and used to get stuff from them every day! Seriously, every day. They keep adding new items, different pastries, doughnuts, rolls, sandwiches, pizzas, everything is delicious! Very addictive!
google avatar

Shubhi M.

Yelp
I would eat breakfast there everyday if I could. The staff is super friendly and the food is very fresh (we came in around 8am and they were still in the process of making the food!). Got the zucchinii and egg calzone as well as the Ricotta spinach calzone and both made for a perfect start of the mooning. The only thing is the small vs large cappuccinos had no difference other than quantity of milk so just stick with the smaller size unless you like a very milky drink! Prices were very cheap also for an authentic bakery
google avatar

Erika S.

Yelp
Fabulous pastries even they re so fresh more p like as real Italians style! This is one of our all the time favorite bakeries from our hometown, no trouble wt all! If you really want get some delicious bread or dessert then grab it over here by great price! "Love"

Yelp
Great Italian bakery in South Beach! Walked here from our hotel and was blown away with this little gem! Pastries, pizza, and tasty breakfast sandwiches! All fresh and homemade. Reasonable prices too. Brought me back to my last trip in Italy! Ladies that work here are welcoming and friendly! Will be a go-to next time I'm back in town. Mille grazie!

Yelp
I first went to Under the Mango Tree next door and changed my mind last minute due to the uncomfortable energy. So me and my dime piece went to this little bakery and had an amazing brunch. Highly recommend!!!
google avatar

Courtney J.

Yelp
Possibly the best croissant I have ever, ever tasted! Fresh, flaky layers, lovely inner pastry that she stuffed fresh with Nutella for me. Cappecino to accompany. Not a large place but intimate and man they clearly know bread and pastries!
google avatar

Laynet D.

Yelp
This is my favorite breakfast spot lave to start my day with a double espresso with a bit of milk. Also I usually get one of my favorites " spinach croissants ", it is delicious. They offer daily temptations that are really hard to avoid to eat since there are so delicious and fresh. The master baker make baguettes, pizzas, tarts, pies, croissants and more irresistible daily bake temptations making this place for any time of your day. It is located in the heart of SOBE. I just love it!!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is amazing! Fresh, authentic Italian bakery- baked by authentic Italians. It gets no better in South Florida. Also, amazing eggplant parmigiana and baguettes. Ask for Walter, the hard working and charming father of the owner.

Yelp
Hey guys. The best pizza in Miami. A place for locals. True italian Go there to have breakfast, cakes and sweets taste so good...
google avatar

Georgia S.

Yelp
The people who work here are so kind and positive and the treats and bread are incredible. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We were in Miami for 7 days and we had breakfast there for4 times. The ambiance, the food is belissimo, tremendo - delicious and great price. It transported me to Italy. I wish I had this in Virginia. Mille Gracie
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
Pizza is great Italy bakery style. Bread is the best in all of Miami. Good to support local company like this because you will not find better product. Everything imported from Italy very authentic.

Roxanne H.

Yelp
Had the egg, ham and cheese sandwich - hit the spot! The fried eggs for the sandwich were made to order. The place had a French vibe but was unpretentious - like going to la meme's house for a special treat! One star less because the hazelnut croissant was off - mild rancid taste. I've had a lot better croissants elsewhere in the US (including France). But I only tried one type of croissant. The almond croissant looked delicious. I would go back to try the rest of their offerings.
google avatar

Evelyn B.

Yelp
Ok so my kids and I were really looking forward to eating delicious cannolis since I read on the reviews that this is an authentic Italian bakery. We drove around since street parking is just a hassle here at the beach. We finally found one and walked over. It was 10:30am when we walked in. We asked if we could have cannolis and the lady looked at me like she had no idea what I was talking about. So I waited to see what her answer was and she said they didn't have any. Mind you I was waiting for her to respond back maybe explaining that at the time they didn't. She made it seem as they don't carry cannolis. Ok so my son ordered the croissant filled with Nutella and I ordered for my daughter's ciambelle (sugar donuts) which was enough for both of them to share. They didn't really like it and I was surprised as they love donuts. I tried it and didn't like it either so I had to throw it out. I was very disappointed with customer service and the lack of choices that I had in mind from seeing on the reviews. I'm not sure how I feel if giving them another chance or not, as for now I will say no.
google avatar

Ayesha M.

Yelp
Got a veggie frittata and custard filled croissant. Tasty. Frittata could have been warmed up but it tasted great.
google avatar

Sébastien D.

Yelp
Forget Paul, la Provence, and chic. This is the closest of a baguette that you'll find in France, but right here in Miami and made by Italians. Who would have thought? ?? Prices are a little cheaper than other french bakeries but the bread is of better quality. There's also a one car parking spot right in the back so I've been shopping there every day for the past week. Gracie, merci! Seba
google avatar

Dimitra C.

Yelp
On my days off I like to walk my dog here to get a latte and a breakfast pastry. Sometimes I get a croissant, sometimes I get a Nutella croissant, and sometimes a Nutella puff pastry. If you can't tell, I tend to go for sweet over savory but they have lots of savory options with egg or spinach. This is a welcoming family operation. They are quick to serve you and get you going about your day and also give you the time you need to enjoy the small shop.
google avatar

Varun S.

Yelp
Tried their pizza...Absolutely delicious. Undoubtedly THE BEST pizza I've had in USA. They sell by the slice, so you can try different ones. Lots of options for a vegetarian. The place smells great too. Too bad couldn't try more as I was full from their neighbor "Under the mango tree" which is also an amazing place!
