Deacons Bank

We had a really good lunch here, a good menu with accomplished cooking. Service was friendly and attentive and the decor was outstanding. We would recommend this establishment if you are in the Peak District.

This is as good as dining gets. Five of us had the Tasting Menu, and two had the matched wines. Everything worked, plus one of our party, could not eat shellfish, and the replacement was brilliant. Staff were wonderful, not pushy, not superier just service when you wanted it. Good speed through the eight courses. Cannont compliment the staff (and owners enough). Chef was pretty wonderful as well. Thanks.

It’s hard for me to relay in words how incredible Deacon’s Bank was. If I could, I would give it 6 stars. Please, do yourself a favour, and order the French Martini, the Cod, and the white chocolate dessert. Truly a gratifying experience!

This was our second visit, having been for an evening meal some months ago, when we had the tasting menu. The less formal lunch service was up to the same high standard. I have a citrus allergy, and on both occasions this was handled well, with the chef producing a citrus-free replacement wherever needed in the tasting menu that even looked similar to the regular dishes that my companions were eating. On this occasion, I asked for a simple oil/vinegar dressing for my lunchtime Caesar Salad, but instead the chef made up a fresh citrus-free version of the regular dressing and even gave me the rest of the batch to take home, along with his scribbled notes of what was in it so I could have a go at making it myself. The front of house staff were very welcoming and the service was excellent. Everyone in our group had a fantastic lunch, and we will definitely be going back.

We had such an amazing meal at the chefs table. I booked not really knowing what to expect but we were thrilled how intimate it was as it gave us a chance to talk to the chef throughout the meal, give feedback, and ask questions. Everything we ate was amazing and as the tasting menu regularly changes, we will definitely return soon!

Fantastic lunch - the best I have experienced in years! Beautifully restored bank tastefully decorated for Christmas. Reasonable cost for the high quality meal. Had the 3 course lunch. Just excellent!

I took my wonderful Mama for lunch today at Deacons Bank. It was a truly zen experience. The atmosphere was lovely and the food was exceptional. A special mention to Simon the wonderfully talented head chef and Sara, whom with her beautiful , charismatic and gentle approach was lovely to have as a part of our experience. My husband and I have certainly found our new ‘date night’ spot. 🩷

Fantastic restaurant and bar. The food is delicious and tastes superb. The staff are excellent and are appreciative of the fact that you might be out for a special meal. I would definitely recommend it here for a food or drinks. They also have comedy nights, live music and an amazing resident DJ.
