Walk in, show the app. No wait, smiling staff gives me a huge heavy bag. First time: 11 assorted bagels, 2 special muffins, one large choc chip cookie. Second time: 11 assorted bagels (2 red and green braided Christmas motif) and one surprise chicken pot pie in a great pastry shell. Fed 2 for lunch. We had all the kids in and they loved the assortment, size, and quality of all the items. Seriously a lot for 7.99. More than expected and my wife and I just freeze half for later.

Food is good, but not worth the 2-3 hours you will have to wait for it. Ordered online and the wait time was 90 minutes, that was a lie. While waiting the additional time in the store people were told a wait time of 45 minutes, which was not at all true. Order from here if you have nothing else to do today and aren't hungry yet.

We recently moved from Houston and tried Deadend Backhouse for bagels and coffee — what a find. Their bagels are enormous, baked fresh, and perfectly soft inside; I’ve never tasted bagels this good. The coffee was strong and exactly what we wanted. Pricing is very reasonable for the quality and friendly service we received. In a busy resort town like Ocean City, you might expect long lines, but the efficient service made the experience seamless. Highly recommend Deadend Backhouse if you’re in the area.

We initially went here last year to grab bagel sandwiches on our way home from OCNJ. We were so excited to get back this year, it was our first stop on the island! The food is phenomenal! The Freshest Bagels Ever!!!! Delicious combinations of different cream cheese spreads. My favorite is the bacon and scallion! But ultimately the MOST DELICIOUS SANDWICH IS......( of course in my humble opinion) Bacon Egg and Cheese on an everything bagel! It is a masterpiece! And the coffees...delightful! The flavored lemonade.. Refreshing and the ultimate treat. My recommendation would be the hibiscus lemonade. So I will encourage anyone going to OCNJ. You must make this a priority to go to. And the staff is so friendly and full of knowledge! Definitely one if my Very Favorite Places to go!🌞⛱️🌅🥯🍩☕️🍋🌺

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. It used to be my favorite breakfast place on the island and I’ve given it a few more tries this summer but the business has totally gone down the drain. The breakfast sandwiches are HORRIBLE. They all fall apart every time you pick them up and the smoked salmon in the salmon avocado toast has a bad taste. The bread and pastries are completely dry and clearly sit out for days. There’s also constantly a ton of flies in that place which grosses me out and the other day I saw a rat coming out of the back door on 11th street. Yuck! Lastly, I think they gave me bad smoked salmon because it got me completely sick for the next 2 days. Worst breakfast spot on the Island. They were much better when they had the Mike Fitzik involved. Will never go back.

Best Breakfast & lunch option in Ocean City. I got the Jersey hangover on the Cheddar Jalepeno bagel. AMAZING. My husband got the crabby grilled cheese & loved it as well. The wait was typical for a Sunday morning I believe. Absolutely worth it though. The bagel was so fresh & the pork roll was perfect.

My husband and I accidentally came across Deadend bakery on the drive home and have been grabbing breakfast daily ever since. Deadend bakery makes the fluffiest and freshest bagels that I’ve ever tried. Their cream cheese spreads and sourdough bread is amazing too. The staff knows us by name and order now - they are the best. 10/10 recommend.

My boyfriend & I would get the bagels from here all the time about 2 years ago & have always loved them. The service was usually quick unless it was busy in the summer but the wait was never super long. Lately, since the beginning of this summer till now, the service has gone horrible. The bagel sandwiches are made all messy, fall apart, they give uncooked looking bacon, the eggs aren’t even neat on the bread. The avocado's were brown today, and my bacon was burnt. The app tells you a time it’s done and whenever I go to pick my order up, it’s not even on the shelf. I’ll wait an additional 20 minutes it still won’t be done yet. The workers seem to be moving at a slow pace. It sucks because it used to be so good.

This local gem is amazing! Staff is super sweet. We had bagels (way better texture than hot bagels), cookies (huge and delicious), and scones that were crispy on the edges. Go and visit this local business! Everything was freshly made from scratch.

Went for bagels recently, right when they opened. Got cin raisen with butter, not toasted. Very doughy, not cooked enough, not good at all. Somers Point Hot bagels 100x better. I do not recommend these bagels.

Nothing like a fresh hot bagel in the morning. Dead end makes a good bagel but they over do it with the toppings. I got a poppyseed bagel which was almost black looking there were so many poppyseeds. And when cutting out the countertop was covered, sometimes less is better.

This place sucks as bad as my ex wife. I ordered delivery from here through an app. The couldn't make the ricotta honey toast so instead the gave us Nutella banana on an untoasted bagel. They also forgot to provide the half dozen bagels I ordered but remembered the cream cheese.

Amazing that they were open the day after Thanksgiving. Unfortunately they were running out of bagels quickly this morning and the poor girls working alone had a lot of orders to fill. But we were in no rush so we waited. Keep in mind this may not be a quick stop if they are understaffed. Overall my bagel was amazing. I love how much I could customize it. It was a bit expensive so I wouldn't do it all the time but I was a nice breakfast treat with family. Highly recommend getting their sourdough loaf to go. We sat out front and enjoyed the sunshine as we ate.

Bagels used to be the best on the island....I didn't even mind paying a higher price than other local bagels as the quality was that good. Lately the bagels have devolved into puffy bagels that resemble and have the consistency and texture of a Kaiser roll.

This place needs to figure their sh*t out. They have the slowest service on the island for a single sandwich. NEVER order here if you're in a rush somewhere it took us over 35 minutes for just 2 sandwiches. To make matters worse, when we got our order, we were in such a rush to leave since we were so late to where we had to be that when we checked our order it was COMPLETELY wrong. I'll never make the mistake of coming back here again.

Stopped in before hitting the 1st beach trip of the year. Usually go to Bennie's but decided to change up to this nicely named place. Couple of bagel sammies which both were stacked high and very filling. One had egg/cheddar/pork roll w/ roasted tomato schemer on a cheddar bagel. The other was egg/cheddar/avocado on a everything So damn good for the beach.

My favorite bagels in Ocean City! I'm a big fan of the HMRX group and their signature colorful nostalgic eateries. Dead End Bakehouse is no exception!! My favorite parts: the pastries, doughy bagels, generous spreads, and delicious coffee My critiques: there's always a wait when you order in-store (this can be avoided by ordering online before you arrive), and parking around 10th and Bay isn't the best. Dead End is one of my favorite spots for grab and go breakfast and pastries. It's close to the 9th street bridge, open year round, and the food is delicious. I'd highly recommend if you're looking for a quick bite in the morning!

I will never go back here.... Absolutely pathetic. Dunkin Donuts has a better operation than Dead End Bakehouse. Every time I come here they mess up the order and simply lack quality.

Inside seems like it hasn't been cleaned all summer. Smells strange and looks worse. Staff is not friendly.

Overpriced, undercooked, unprofessional. Go to Yiannis or NY cafe and grille for bagels instead.

Very disappointed and bummed! It is such a cute spot. I wanted to love it. I ordered an avocado BLT on a bagel and added an egg. When I got home, they had not added the egg (an extra $3 on top of $12 for the sandwich) . The lettuce was brown and disgusting (see pics), the avocado was brown, and there was no flavor. :(

Takes awhile for food to be ready so order online but usually it's always worth it. The portion size has definitely gone down which is disappointing. The sausage was way too small and I don't eat egg so it was not worth $9.

Went to order a bagel sandwhich and was told it would be 45 minutes so switched order to an everything bagel with cream cheese. Waited 60 minutes and this is what I opened up when I got home. No everything seasoning, no cream cheese. They lost business today.

Never heard of a bagel shop NOT allowing you to purchase bagels. Tried purchasing a dozen bagels at their Boardwalk location and we were told DON'T sell bagels ???

Heard so much good about this place, we were disappointed. Half dozen bagels over $14, you decide, I think this is very expensive. Was hungry so got one cinnamon raisin to eat right away. Pretty much a tasteless bagel. Needed to be sweeter and nowhere near enough raisins. The other five bagels are sesame. Absolutely tasteless bagels, just round bread. No criso crust and soft yeasty insides. Just flat and tasteless. Go to Hot Bagels and More, a dozen bagels are $18 and they are bigger and much better.

Dead End Bakehouse is a hidden gem in OC. The guys working there are great and the bagel sandwiches were not only delicious but a reasonable price as well. The blueberry scone was warm, fresh, and yummy!

Never again. I almost fell over when the employee told me $17.06 for 6 bagels and they're not sliced either. Not to mention, the inventory was low, so we had to get two of each instead of 6 different bagels. Never, ever again will I buy bagels here, even if they're the absolutely best bagels I've ever had in my life. What an absolute rip off. I guess they're trying to offset the high rent of their new location on the boardwalk. Such a shame.

Walked to Dead End on the boardwalk in the pouring rain this morning to get a dozen bagels. They said they can't bag them unless I got a spread on them. Stupid rule very poor customer service.

Good food, poor service and understaffed/ poorly organized. It shouldn't take 25 mins to make a sausage and egg bagel. Looks like DoorDash is taking priority over people in store.

The boardwalk location always looks empty and you will think you will get your food fast! Don't be fooled, behind the storefront is where everyone is waiting, and waiting, and waiting. The guy next to me ordered a coffee and was waiting for 20 minutes!

Aptly named, this is a "dead-end" for quality and service. You'll likely go here anyway because you've rented a place around the corner and don't feel like walking an extra block to a higher quality place - but you should really think twice about skipping the "dead end." Teenagers are dismissive and disinterested by nature, but the dead-end staff seems to lower the bar even farther. They really don't care - what you've ordered, how long you've waited - really about anything. And they make sure you know it!! The terrible service pairs well with the substandard food. The one thing the café of miserable teens was able to do is screw up a bacon, egg, and cheese. That is an accomplishment! They got the bacon and cheese, but somehow missed the cheese (partial credit?). See photo. It was served on untoasted limp bread.

Food is generally very good but they screw up something on EVERY order. They put spicy cream cheese on a ham sandwich. They routinely omit parts of an order. I have to stand there and check everything and then wait forever while they fix it. DO NOT get delivery. And orders take at LEAST twice as long as promised. Often more.

The food itself is good and the best breakfast sandwich in OCNJ. The wait time however is horrible. I have learned to order ahead as I know the wait times can get ridiculously long. I waited an hour and fifteen minutes for my order. It seemed that they serve the people in line faster than if you order online ahead of time. Any time I asked for an update on my order they would not come back to give me a realistic timeline and seemed to avoid talking to customers in general (likely because everyone was complaining). I second all the people telling you to only go here if you have nothing else going on for your day. It was a large waste of our morning. Many customers complain and complain every year, I wonder what it will take for the business to prioritize customer satisfaction! I gave 2 stars to be generous due to good sandwiches but on service alone, I would rate it less than 1 star.

I dream of the veggie cream cheese. It is the best. Also the jalapeño cheddar bagel is amazing. I look forward to my vacation just so I can eat here.

One of the best bagels you can get on the jersey shore. I get a bagel almost every morning I'm here (sometimes 2). They don't skimp on the portions at all - you get 2 eggs on a big bagel and the bacon is thick cut! Variety of different bagel and cream cheese options. Don't forget to try their sandwich options along with their stuffed bagels and pizza bread. Order early because this place is popular!

Pro tip - when ordering online, the time that is provided for pick up is not correct! I waited about a half hour this morning because I didn't realize YOU GET A TEXT WHEN IT IS READY. However! It is absolutely delicious and worth the wait. Especially on the weekends- just be prepared for a long line and a long wait. If you order online, give it at least a half hour.

There is no flow to the space. Line backs up out the door, straight down the middle and divides the space. People are then waiting on either side of the line, making it hard for people picking up to grab their food. It's chaos. You can't even properly see the bagel types available until you're close to the front. And even then, it doesn't matter because chances are they're out of the cream cheese or topping you wanted, and they'll be out of it for days. Waited 15 mins for a plain toasted bagel. The bagels are mediocre and inconsistent. Sesame bagel was thin, flavorless. No chew, no crunch. The pumpernickel bagel was thicker and had more chew, but still underwhelming. Everything was handed over in separate bags to juggle -- why not just combine it all per order?? Only decent item is the coffee!

We got a scone, and sandwiches. Excellent food and service! There's window seating inside and tables to eat outside. Lots to choose from!

This is my favorite bagel place! The bagels are always fresh and huge! If you get cream cheese (love it) there's always soo much it's so good! The pastries, especially Christmas cookies are large and very good! Also love the CBD lattes! The service has always been great, staff very polite, patient and helpful! I'm confused by the negative reviews. Every place/ person always has not the perfect experience every single time. But the size of Dead End is small, as is the kitchen prep area, so that needs to be kept in mind. Summer months it gets super busy so yes, there's a wait. They decorate for holidays, play music etc., so that review was maybe a one off or weird timing. Pricing also seems to be on target with the market. If you want a cheaper bagel that doesn't taste nearly as good, Dunkin is down the road.

I have been meaning to try Dead End Bakehouse for a few years and was surprised to see that it only had 3 stars on Yelp. A few different things thwarted our attempts to visit over the years: weather, Covid, even a fire! We went for a late breakfast on Sunday (11am) and the place was pretty empty. It looked like they still had most items available, including delicious looking homemade pop tarts on the counter. I must say that I love the branding of this place. They are owned by the same group that owns Sand House and Drip & Scoop, all which have really great interiors. I got an Avocado BLT on an Everything bagel. It may just be because I have not had a bagel in a long time, but I though this bagel was amazon. I would have gotten a different sandwich though because a BLT on a bagel is mostly bread. My girlfriend got the Honey Ham, which is Pork Roll and Habenro Honey cream cheese. It was amazing, She got it on a poppyseed bagel which really paired nicely with the ham. My friends got the Bacon & The Goat avocado toast which looked really good and was certainly a big enough portion to split between two people. We sat outside in their bright orange chairs (love these) and enjoyed the nice day. This place is quickly becoming a staple in Ocean City. Whether you are hungover and looking for a greasy breakfast sandwich or picking up a dozen bagels to take home, this is the place for you. The location could be better but there is usually plenty of street parking along Bay Ave (or on the *Dead End*). Definitely stop by!

don't come here unless you have nowhere else to be the rest of the day. i placed an order online and waited for over an hour for one sandwich. absolutely ridiculous. i will never come here again or recommend it to anyone

this place was a 5/5!!! deeeee-licious! and i'm from long island where IMHO the best bagels come from. great food and drinks and SO friendly. with outdoor seating on a quiet block. fully recommend!!

tl;dr DEAD END, TURN AROUND: this cute concept is an absolute train-wreck, demonstrating shockingly poor execution of a bagelry I find most of the food at the shore to be just OK -- and that's OK! When I'm on vacation, I don't always want to be cooking for myself, so grabbing a convenient fast-casual option, especially one that caters to the whole family, is worth its weight in gold. Dead End Bakehouse claims to be just that -- a bagel-focused eatery ideal for your breakfast needs The menu looks exciting from the specialty bagel and cream cheese offerings to the make your own sandwiches. And on the weekend, the line goes out the door as early as 10AM. We decided to go a bit early (9:30) to grab a bagel sandwich, another half-dozen bagels, and a tub of cream cheese. But I can't recommend enough that you skip out on this place. The line is a complete disaster; people just mob the counter, and the workers obliviously greet whoever pushes their way up front first. These workers are beyond unprofessional, and none of them are at all productive despite there being so many. As my partner was ordering our half-dozen bagels, the woman behind the counter was more invested in conversations with coworkers and checking her phone, and four times asked us to repeat. And then the wait -- there were only a handful of people in front of us in line, yet it took nearly 40 minutes to make our bagel sandwich. My partner went to ask a worker about it, and the worker simply shrugged her shoulders. My partner almost never gets angry, but after a half-hour of watching the workers run around like chickens with their heads cut off, she was fuming. I cannot make up how terrible this experience was. And somehow the workers even managed to forget our cream cheese. Yikes. This is the kind of establishment that predicates itself on being trendy than on offering consistent, high-quality food. To be quite frank, I am struggling to find a substantial reason to even give them 2 stars. The space is cute, but there is no AC, making it hotter than the summer sand. I suppose the only saving grace was the French Toast bagel, which was a surprisingly apt homage to the breakfast classic. But all the other bagels were tough, almost like they had been leftovers from the day before. And the bagel sandwich (on a Squid-Ink bagel) was nothing special at $7. I'd take Wawa over this any day, and I'd take no breakfast over Wawa.

Creative cream cheese flavors and great bagel! Had the egg bacon with bacon scallion cream cheese and it was delish. Bagel exterior has a nice sheep with a great chew on the inside. Cream cheese is great! Bacon and scallion was so yummy. Next time will try the sweet cream cheeses!

Service is horrible. Imagine waiting 45 mins for a bagel with cream cheese. Ridiculous. I understand that busy times cause for a bit of wait, but I have never encountered such a business like this in my life. Will never be back. If you are ok with waiting 1+ hours for a simple bagel, this is the place for you. Also ambience is awful. No fans, no music, no decorations for holidays. Save your time and place your business elsewhere.

Pre ordered here for Easter weekend. Got a ham and herb quiche, the lemon loaf and a sourdough loaf. Each item was fairly priced and absolutely delicious! The quiche and lemon loaf was devoured, best we've ever had! Can this place be mobbed and disorganized during peak season?! Absolutely, so know the rules of the shore and pre order and go early! #dontbeashoobie

The bagels were amazong but only after going through my expenditures did I realize the lady (new) overcharged us for a half dozen. it was busy so I just put my card in and foolishly even tipped. $16 for 6 bagels. No one answers the phone so when I tried to call the next day it was a waste of time. the girl was clueless could not even answer if the could slice bagels and wondering why she would be on the register. in any case, my bad, but she couldn't figure out how to print a receipt either and so I wouldn't hold up the line, I was like ok. I did say half dozen and she's like yes. Excellent bagels. But still pissed I was overcharged and was a visitor.

The wait may be long but the breakfast sandwiches and baked goods are great. All made fresh in house

I was so disgusted for a dozen bagels cost me $28.15 they said I tipped 4.69 for a girl getting me bagels I would have tipped 1.00 not 4 something I will never go back - Tracy S. they did the same to me warning check your bank acct if you go there!

probably the best price in ocean city for a dozen bagels. lots of different options for bagel types/flavors if you're looking to try something new. the people here a very nice. a personal favorite here was the blueberry bagel for sure! honey oat is a close second!

Love this place! Good bagels and excellent custom bagel sandwiches. I always get their roasted poblanos, roasted jalapeños, or both. Only knock is that they are extremely slow, even during off-days and even if all yuh want is a coffee. However, you can order online which makes up for the slow service.

Bought a dozen and half bagels on Sunday. The half dozen everything bagels were good. Very good. Issue is all but one or two of the dozen sesame bagels are stale. Almost impossible to cut, tastes like shoe leather. It appears they are day old as I bought these in the morning. For the price, I would skip this place. Unless you like stale bagels.

Finally got to stop here. I've been seeing all the social media posts of the food and it looks delicious. Ordered ham egg and cheese on jalapeño cheddar bagel. To my disappointment the bagel was more bread like then a traditional bagel. Maybe they should call it a breagel. Also maybe an ounce and a half of ham. Otherwise it did the job of feeding my hunger.

It's been a go-to for years but when I went this week, it seems very disorganized. Bagels were okay, we didn't have to wait long but the overall quality and service seems to have gone down.

The guy taking my order was nice but the wait was over 20 minutes and I got charged an extra 2 dollars for bacon that I didn't even receive 1 star.
