"Lost Spirits is definitely not a bar. This is a weird place in the Arts District where the surprises are part of the fun, but imagine getting drunk on an Amazon jungle cruise and you’ll have a general idea of what’s in store at this distillery tour/art installation. It’s also always sold out, so force your friends to commit and buy tickets ahead of time." - brant cox, brett keating
"While it’s not technically a bar, you are certain to walk out of Lost Spirits swaying a little bit. Without giving too much away, for $37 you’ll join a distillery tour that feels a bit like you’ve stumbled into Hogwarts, complete with a boat ride and a real-life potions masters. You’ll get to try different spirits, like rum and scotch, and sometimes they have bourbon or brandy. Tours happen with groups of 12, and be sure to book early, because they tend to fill up fast." - brant cox, brett keating
"What It Is: A rum distillery in the Arts District Perfect For: Left-Of-Center Date Night Lost Spirits is a new rum distillery in the Arts District and before you say you gave up rum in college or have little interest in understanding how it’s made, let us stop you. Lost Spirits is not just a distillery. It’s an art installation/jungle cruise/science experiment, with plenty of drinking, and it’s one of the coolest experiences you’ll find in LA right now. In an effort to let you be as awestruck as we were, we’ll withhold any specific details, but just know the $35 admission price is beyond worth it. Each tour lasts around 90 minutes, and you should book tickets well in advance on their website. Verdict: A must-experience whether you’re into rum or not. It’s going on the Bar Hit List." - jess basser sanders, brant cox, brett keating
