Gary’s Wine & Marketplace Replaces Dean & DeLuca in St Helena - Eater SF

"Dean & DeLuca leaves behind a legacy. Once the icon of luxury, with its towers of gourmet foods, the company has been rapidly closing stores, amid reports of empty shelves and unpaid vendors. The Napa Valley location closed a couple of weeks ago, signaling the end of an era. 'It was an iconic space,' Fisch recalls. 'I used to walk through and take pictures, to discover new bottles of wine, and try to track them down. But at the end of its life, it was devastating.' Fisch is working to restore the warm wood floors, while putting on a fresh coat of paint, and rolling in a few new cold cases." - Becky Duffett

Dean & DeLuca is a great store and a fantastic place to prepare for a high end picnic. Wine (obviously), fantastic cheese (where GrGich gets the cheese they pair with their wine tastings), specialty candies, wonderful baked goods and meats. They also make delightful sandwich fillers like smoked fish spread and spicy cheese spread as well as pots pans and knives. Things are quite expensive, but they are also good.

This place has a great range of wines to choose from. There is a deli, cheese n meat counter, with delectables to accommodate acquired tastes. Don't leave without desert! Dean & DeLuca have scrumptious and hard to find personal sized cakes, cookies, and many other treats. A must visit when wine tasting in ST Helena, CA. You will not be disappointed.

Very cool European Deli kinda store carrying many up scale product for foodies and pretentious snobs. Kind of pricey but it's worth paying a visit.
