Cash Only, ATM inside. Great, not too pricey fresh, frozen, and dry pasta. I go here for Christmas gifts and my own stockpile. $4 for any pound of dry pasta and $6-8 for a pound of frozen non-meat ravs are my favorite deals that I go back to time and time again. Our favorite raviolis are the goat cheese and red pepper. The sauces (Pink Vodka) are decent but not spectacular. However, they are not pricey at all so I get them on occasion for a quick spiced up meal. Couldn't recommend this place enough, everything is at least well worth the cost and at best outstanding.

Google
This is the only pasta we buy for Christmas. The family has been going to this place for many, many years. If you like raviolis, this is the Only Place to get them!

I’m OBSESSED with Deano’s! A quick and easy dinner and the pastas are quality and delicious!! Currently on a mission to try all of the flavors—the fig and mascarpone ravioli is to DIE for and the lobster ravioli is my go-to! Staff are always incredibly friendly and give great sauce/flavor suggestions!

L Q

Google
Excellent assistance at the counter. So friendly and patient 🙂 The lobster ravioli we brought home to make was excellent and went so well with the recommended pink vodka sauce! We're thrilled to have found this gem!

I love their homemade ravioli and ready-made sauces! It's amazing to have a neighborhood spot that makes convenience meals that truly taste restaurant quality.

Stopped by here about 2 weekends ago. Fiancé and I bought a couple of pastas and a pre made sauce. All I can say is WOW!! So far, everything we’ve tried has been delicious!! We loved the rigatoni, gnocchi and the sun dried tomato pesto. Dinner is always guaranteed to be amazing and easy when you buy from deanos. I love that their pasta and pre made sauces and perfectly portioned to 1lb each, so if you’re in a hunch and need a quick but delicious dinner that tastes like you’ve been cooking all day in the kitchen, deanos is the way to go! Can’t wait to go back this weekend and try more of their pastas and sauces! Oh, and their goat cheese ravioli is definitely my fav thus far!

Google
Bought the 4 cheese ravioli from our local butcher tonight and it was soooo good! Will be be trying everything there! And my boyfriend is from Somerville so I’ll be sending him to the restaurant to get more things! Yummm!

Google
Excellent fresh and fresh-frozen pasta here. The prices do reflect the quality, but generally speaking if you want high-end restaurant quality pasta to cook at home, this is a very good place to get it. My household loves their spinach and cheese mezzaluna (think half-rounds of ravioli). There is free on-site parking. Bring your cash as they do not accept credit cards. There is an ATM in the building should you need it and don’t mind the fees.

Yelp
Deano's is a great place if you want fresh or dried pasta. They are open 7 days a week. They have ziti, fusilli, shells, ziti, rigatoni, gemelli, malfadi and cavatelli to name a few. Some you can get dried some fresh. They also have quite a few varieties of sauces, many varieties of ravioli, stuffed shells (which I buy and store in the freezer for those nights I don't want to cook). I throw them in a casserole with some sauce and mozzarella cheese and dinners ready in no time. You can also buy their pasta and sauces at your favorite market. Their website shows what markets sell their pasta. This is a family run business so quality of their product never varies. They have been making pasta since 1947. Their pasta has the perfect chew when eating. After you eat their pasta you will never buy that store brand again!

Robert F.

Yelp
Someone gave us the eggplant ravioli for Christmas and when we made it a few days later we found it to be very doughy and no taste of eggplant. Boring! The $1.25 Pedes ravioli from Market Basket is so much better. We would never buy this product. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't good either. Good for those of you who enjoy thick doughy pasta with no flavor.

Nicole L.

Yelp
I'm obsessed! I don't know how I only recently discovered this gem, but it's the best ravioli I've had in Boston!! So far my husband and I tried the cheese ravioli and pumpkin ravioli and both were delicious, easy to cook, and filling! I can't wait to try the pear and pecorino one that I also bought, and then stock up on more!

Rick R.

Yelp
raviolis are amazing! people that work there are passionate about making wonderful tasting food. Best in the business. My go to place for pasta from now on. No one is even close

Marissa R.

Yelp
I have nothing negative to say about Deano's! The pasta we picked up was sooo good & well priced. I was a little bit disappointed at first to see it was frozen, but upon cooking it, the texture was perfect & I couldn't even tell. I popped a couple bags in the freezer to have on-hand for pasta nights at home. The only thing to note is that it is CASH ONLY, and they have different weekend hours (closing at 3 instead of 5). The location is a little tricky too, but once you get the lay of the land, you're set. Come here instead of spending an arm & a leg in the North End!!

John B.

Yelp
I bought $50 dollars of raviolis and pasta, all have been delicious so far and the hooks helping me were great as well. Remember to bring cash, no cards!

Jerry C.

Yelp
I'm always a bit skeptical with higher priced hand made pasta but this place is different. Located in an industrial looking building this is a cash-only business. How many times have you had lobster raviolis in which you could barely taste or find the lobster? Well these lobster raviolis were really stuffed full of tasty lobster- the real deal in my book. Tried two types of sauces- a limoncello, and pink vodka. Both were delicious and didn't over-power the lobster ravioli. They sell other non-stuffed pastas as well. Highly recommend you check-out this place. Bring cash.

Anne C.

Yelp
This was a true hidden gem while in Boston recently. Looking for a place that sold fresh pasta and Yelp helped us find this place that is a pasta lovers dream. The woman that was handling customer request was really helpful at pairing our pasta and sauce as there were so many options We ended up with a fig and marscapone raveoli as well as an Atumnn ravioli (filled with sweet potato and Butternut squash). Both were paired with a light cream sauce. My husband is not a big cream sauce fan but he changed his mind after tonight's dinner. Packages are sold by the pound and they can definitely serve 2 ppl easily. Not a fan of filled pastas they also have a variety of fresh non filled pastas and slow dried shelf stable pasta. Definitely a place to check out if you are in the mood for pasta.

Maude G.

Yelp
Best pasta I've ever had!! Great service and AMAZING pasta, their ravioli is my favorite comfort meal.

Matthew C.

Yelp
Great service and delicious pasta! Advice to those who haven't been...bring cash. However if you don't have cash, there's an ATM on-site.

Payam Z.

Yelp
Deano's pasta is an incredible gem that has been around for decades. This is basically an artisan pasta factory with a small, cash only sales desk in the corner. Have a look at the menu beforehand as you may have a rough time selecting between all of the options on the spot. From classics such as pumpkin rav to limoncello and brandy flavored cream sauce, you'll find more than enough options for dinner here. Overall, contender for best pasta from Boston, which is no small feat. Note that they are cash only and really only carry products they make on site (ie this is not a supermarket like Dave's)

Maddy R.

Yelp
Excellence very great pasta!! Service with a smile!! Really nice place. Glad I made the trip!!

Lindsay M.

Yelp
I won't waste your time by writing a long review. Go in there, buy literally anything, take it home, and cook it. Any pasta I've ever bought from Deano's is better than nearly every pasta I've ever ordered in a restaurant. They're also incredibly friendly but the pasta and sauces are so good I wouldn't even mind if they yelled at me every time I went there. (Don't snooze on the fig and mascarpone ravioli, or the lobster, or the pesto, or the limoncello or "Onesto" cream sauces, but it's honestly all delicious. And surprisingly affordable for the quality/quantity. Bring enough cash so you can try it all.)

Jenni F.

Yelp
Delicious sauces. Love the "honest" cream sauce. Fresh pasta and a lot of specialty raviolis. Great location and nice staff!

Jamie C.

Yelp
Normally don't write these but had to for how good deano's was!!! I have been searching for pear ravioli ever since I came back from Florence. Finally found it at deano's and wow was it good. We also had their lobster ravioli in pink cream sauce and cheese ravioli in marinara which were all amazing. Not to mention how good the prices are! 5 stars. Can't wait to get it again.

Karen 2.

Yelp
Delicious pasta bought frozen. I highly recommend getting some it saves really well! The price is reasonable too for the quality and quantity. Better than any other frozen ravioli in the area!

Lisa B.

Yelp
Fantastic pasta and the marina sauce is great too! p.s. Discovered them at a farmer's market on the North Shore and will have to make my way to Somerville soon because I can't wait until the Spring. Love that the sauce was frozen. Be well and stay curious, Lipstick Warriors

Brenda K.

Yelp
I live on the South Shore. Deanos was featured on Chronicle so I decided to give it a try, I love pasta! I went on a Sunday morning because any other time traffic would be a nightmare. Thankfully Deanos is open on Sunday. Easy to get to, directly off the highway. Plenty of parking in lot. Shop is very clean. Girl behind the counter friendly and helpful. Answering all my questions about ingredients in vegetable ravioli and also cooking instructions. Lobster ravioli were delicious. Stuffed full of yummy lobster and restaurant quality for sure. I paired the lob ravs with their Vodka Sauce. The sauce was good, just needed to heat to thaw and warm. The fettuccine was very good as well. Remember to shake off excess flour! The marinara sauce was really good. Tasted like fresh sauce! I purchased 2 Fettuccine, one of each of the following: Vegetable Ravioli, Lobster Ravioli, Vodka Sauce, Pesto, Marinara, cream sauce, Penne, and Cheese Ravioli. Total was $47 and I got a free bag of dry pasta. Great quality, delicious products at great prices with friendly, helpful service.

Giuseppe S.

Yelp
Got the frozen angolotti which where very good and tasty. Also was a great price. Would definitely get again and try other things.

Rebecca D.

Yelp
Super delicious. Went today for the first time and bought 3 pastas and 2 sauces. Cost 21-22$ (I can't remember which) but totally worth the price. I feel bad but I'm taking away one star because the girl at the counter really seemed like she couldn't have been bothered. I tried to comment on the different varieties and make small talk but I got no response other than was told what the total cost was. Maybe she was having a bad day or something. Made the ricotta gnocchi tonight with the marinara and it was AMAZING. - I put back the star because the pasta and sauce really was good

John S.

Yelp
Right in Boston's back yard! Authentic Italian pasta at its best... local, all natural, family owned and SO fresh. I had seen it on Chronicle and heard about Deano's from a couple friends and decided to check it out before the holiday weekend. I ended up getting the classic fussili for my wife's pasta salad and it was the best she's ever made! She said she will never make it with any other pasta now... that's a strong statement coming from her. lol The prices are crazy reasonable and the portions are great, even for all of the nice gourmet style ravioli's filled with things like kale and parmigiana, Wild mushroom and the cauliflower gnocchi (which is Vegan) looked amazing. All in all I ended up getting fusilli, three cheese ravioli, spinach and ricotta (striped with spinach dough) ravioli, and two containers of their "Onesto Sauce" which means Honest in Italian. That sauce was to die for. The kids loved it, good thing I got two! I will be back, and they let me know that they are at the Melrose Farmers Market on Thursdays starting next week! I definatly have a new pasta shop to frequent. I can't wait til I have a little more time to browse and ask more questions. FYI- Cash only, ATM right in the pasta store.

Abbie M.

Yelp
What a find! Deanos has been in business for decades, supplying restaurants and markets all over the Boston area. Now that I know I can buy from them directly, I may never eat out again (as if). We bought about seven total pounds of the three cheese agnolotti, lobster ravioli, cheese tortellini, bucatini, and fusilli; as well as a container of marinara. The total was $31. I'm already in love. Although made fresh, all the pasta is frozen. However, it's a quick cook: 2-4 minutes for the agnolotti. The stuffed pastas all stay together well and cook evenly. Also, they're absolutely delicious. The pasta to filling ratio is exactly right. As for their marinara, the flavor was great (if a little sweet)! I found it a little watery - but I'm picky and prefer a deep red, slow-cooked tomato sauce. Best of all, we got to meet Deano himself when he served us at the counter. Super nice guy, clearly proud of his heritage. It's a terrific product at an excellent price, he should be proud!

Molly M.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and get the lobster ravioli. I've been to nice restaurants that don't put as much lobster in the whole dish as Deano's puts in their ravs. About 3 bags fed 6 of us for Christmas Eve this year--- paired with their vodka sauce. Hoping they bring back the sampler packs of raviolis because I'm dying to try the rest!

Michelle w.

Yelp
Deano's pasta is just amazing! Once you have had their fresh pasta, you will never want store bought again. The location is right off the highway and super easy to find ( I tend to get lost due to my inability to follow GPS directions), but the directions lead me right to their front door! Ample parking which is also a huge plus (no time wasted looking for a parking spot). Once you enter Deano's you are basically in pasta heaven. I could not make up my mind about what to order, so bought almost one of each item (pasta and sauces) that were there (well worth the money). Please bring cash as they take only cash. We made the fusilli with the Onesto cream sauce that night. It was delicious!!! A few nights later, I made steak and poured some of this sauce on top of it. The steak was fabulous with the sauce!!! Their vodka sauce, I have added it to shrimp and chicken and it is also delicious. I think what I love the most besides their pasta, is that their sauces are so versatile and can be used with other dishes besides pasta!

Kitwa N.

Yelp
We first encountered Deano's pasta at the Piantedosi bread factory in Malden, and I was very excited to find out about their retail shop a few weeks ago. The portions of their raviolis, fresh pastas, and dried pastas are so generous, and most importantly, everything is delicious! We made the spinach raviolis last night and our 3-year old ate more than we did. Will be returning frequently, and singing their praises to all our friends!

Jessie J.

Yelp
WOW doesn't even begin to describe this pasta! I was getting it on Thursdays at the Melrose Farmers market and then found out they have a STORE in their factory that you can buy direct at awesome prices! My friend and I checked it out Tuesday and each walked away with pounds of pasta that was crazy inexpensive. I bought a 3lb bag of their fussili for only 12.00!!! I threw a pasta party for my son's track team last night and needless to say... I'm all out of the fussili and 4lbs of cheese ravioli :). They are cash only, but have an ATM in the store!? They thought of everything! LOVE LOVE this little gem. I'm headed back tomorrow to restock. My son is already asking me for the ravioli's for dinner again.

Michelle H.

Yelp
I drive from NH to get my Ravioli's ! My Sunday Gravy coupled with these are undeniably scrumptious!

Amanda S.

Yelp
We finally had a chance to buy pasta here. They've extended their hours on weekends and I'm glad they did. It's CASH ONLY so buyer beware. On this day their ATM didn't work so we used the one across the way at a grocery store. The manager felt bad for the inconvenience and gave us a pasta sampler. Polite staff and delicious food. BUY LOCAL! We will be back!

M D.

Yelp
We love Deano's pasta and their sauces, too. My family is from southern Italy and their marinara is the only pre-made sauce I've had that tastes like it came out of my grandmother's kitchen!

Sean S.

Yelp
Was in the day before Thanksgiving to grab some ravioli. Great selection and friendly service. Once cooked, even better. These folks know how to make pasta!

Michelle M.

Yelp
There are so many reasons why you have to visit Deanos Pasta. The pasta and sauces are amazing. We first got introduced to them at Riverfest Assembly Row. My 7 year son asked if we could keep going back to get more mushroom raviolis! I introduced myself to Kara and while we were waiting for the raviolis to cook mentioned that we have an annual 5K that raises money for autism research/awareness/funds and Somerville Special Education. She got me in touch with owners Hala and Dean and with no hesitation they provided coupons for 200 free bags of pasta in our race gift bags! Not only is the food amazing but so are the people that work there. Thank you to the entire crew for your generous donation and making yummy food including Gluten Free options. You guys rock!

Arnold H.

Yelp
Pesto too salty, but the marinara sauce is surprisingly excellent. The ravioli also surprised us in quality - perfect balance. We thought Dave's Fresh Pasta was slightly inferior, despite not being frozen! Dave's is a bit saltier, whereas Deanos is more palatable imo. Good deals too. Wish they were open longer hours.

Steven A.

Yelp
I had the best experience today shopping at Deano's today. I found out about you from the Famer's Market in Wakefield on Saturday. Since I drove by you on my work to Cambridge everyday, I decided to come in and check you out. I had no intention of buying anything, but your sales clerk Erika was amazing. She was so helpful explaining the whole product line to me, and I left completely satisfied. I can't wait to try out your products in the kitchen and look forward to buying new things the next time I visit. Well done!

Tina D.

Yelp
This is a small hidden gem that we initially found at our local farmer's market. My very picky son loves their Onesto sauce with pasta and shrimp. The Limencello sauce is great over salmon. If you go to the shop, they give a free pound of dried pasta with every purchase (we've tried the chocolate, chili, and spinach) but their fresh/frozen pasta is why we go. They are cash only so be prepared.

Bean D.

Yelp
My husband and I went there this morning and got the fig and mascarpone ravioli and onesto sauce, which we ate earlier today. I am not usually into pasta, but I can't wait to go back and get more. I want to get some to share with my family over the holidays. We are so lucky to have stumbled upon this place!

Michelle A.

Yelp
6 degrees of Kevin Bacon? Pfft! It's more like 2 degrees of separation when you are from Somerville. I'll explain... I've known Mark for a few years never knowing his family owned this place. We got to talking last week and it was like an epiphany to me. I saw the semolina light! Not only has Deano's been on Garfield Street for 12 years which blows my mind that I hadn't tried them sooner, they've been in business since 1947 and lastly (this will blow your hair back) the pretty much supply pastas to 90% of the restaurants in the North End. WHAT? That last tidbit might of been classified information but I will not divulge what restaurants to keep me from having to go live with Edward Snowden. Ok here's the deal. This pasta is as fresh as you can get. The dough will most likely cook al dente unless you give it some extra boiling time. I learned that lesson on the first try cooking some medium size cheese raviolis. Second try was perfect! They make pretty much every form of pasta you can think of all at a very reasonable price. And their marinara is definitely worth a try trust me. As a rule this half Sicilian girl with roots from Catania DOES NOT eat red sauce outside the house. I made an exception and am thoroughly impressed. My 100% italian boyfriend loves their pasta and so does his italian mama. Enough said. Mangia Mangia but make sure you bring $. They haven't started taking credit cards yet but I hear it's in the works. Prego!

Deborah B.

Yelp
I don't think I've ever left a review on Yelp, but this pasta absolutely requires it it's the freshest, most delicious pasta I've ever had. The cheese ravioli hold their form during cooking, and the filling is amazing. I ate 2 servings and feel like I might burst but it was so worth it.

Grace E.

Yelp
Deanos are simply the best! Their pasta is to die for. We buy it all the time and it makes a fantastic, quick, easy weeknight meal. But we also love buying it for when guests come over. The pasta gets so many compliments, as it tastes exactly like the fresh pasta you'd get in any great Italian restaurant. The pasta doesn't need much cooking, even from frozen. It is done in a few short minutes, whether you boil it or cook it directly in your sauce. We love the cheese ravioli and the fusilli! The butternut squash amaretto ravioli is also great with their cream sauce. One package of the ravioli generously feeds 2-3 people. I can't say enough good things about Deanos!!!

Mary R.

Yelp
I love there marinara sauce so delicious. I also love the 3 cheese raviolis. First met them at the Melrose Farmers Mkt and at other farmers mkt after that. I now go to there store in Somerville as I a from Charlestown and go shopping every Mon at the Stop & Shop next to them. Go and enjoy. Mary/born and raised Townie

Bob H.

Yelp
Went there today, picked up three cheese ravioli and lobster ravioli. I cooked the three cheese and they were great, very rich. Can't wait to try the lobster with Lemonchello sauce with it

Matt V.

Yelp
Some people just can't cook, even pasta ! But stop by Deano's Pasta and their retail shop. Must have 7 different types of raviolis. 15 pastas or more, including GLUTEN FREE !! A monkey could read the directions and cook a gourmet meal for themselves, a special person in their lives or a group of special friends. And it's all delicious ! They will make recommendations for you as well. I give this stuff away as a gift idea all the time. Tell me if I'm not your best friend once I gift you Lobster Ravioli and a delicious Lemon Cream Sauce for yourself ! This place is a hidden jewel right behind Stop & Shop in Somerville off of Mystic Ave., right before the on ramp to Sullivan Station and route 93.

Catherine C.

Yelp
Since this review customer service did reach out with an apology and refunded my money. Perhaps their fresh pasta would have been more tasteful had I used their sauce to enhance the flavor instead of my own. Something to consider when buying their homemade pasta.

Judi H.

Yelp
Like Elaine and The Sponge, I will be hoarding Deano's marinara sauce and asking 'are you Deano-worthy?' to everyone. Jesus could come to my house and I would think twice before sharing my stash of Deano's pasta!

Drew S.

Yelp
If you're looking for fresh homemade pastas (not the dried store bought stuff), visit these guys. They are open to the public and welcome walk-in customers. Just don't be surprised when you walk in the entrance of the factory and get confused for a second to find this is factory, not a regular store. You will notice some menu boards straight ahead up some stairs and a sliding reception window with people sitting at some desks doing some operations work. Well, you make your order with them. They are super friendly and happy you came in. After you tell them what you want, the get on the walkie-talkie to someone in the warehouse and they bring it down. Their fresh pasta is as good as it gets and their prices are quite generous, imho. $4 for a 1lb bag of 4 cheese ravs. If you get the linguine, you have to get a tray with 6 compartments, each compartment well enough for two people. Everything comes frozen but that makes no difference in the quality, especially if you compare it to store bought dried dehydrated pasta food stuff. Apparently, they supply to a great number of the decent Italian restaurants around here. My wife said the linguine was so good, pasta was no longer some dumb side dish. She's right. Whip up some roux-milk-parmesan pan sauce and toss in some linguine - Oh yeah! They make a few sauces as well, but I haven't yet tried them. They are a cash-only business, but I wonder if that will change once they open the slightly more walk-in-able store they plan on opening soon. So, what. Go next door to Stop&Shop, buy some bread to go with a pasta dinner and get cash back from the register. Then go over and get your pasta. I'm so happy I braved it and ventured in. I'm selecting $(Inexpensive) because of what you're getting for the price.

Ellen G.

Yelp
I drive from southern New Hampshire to stock up on Deano's pasta and sauces. The quality is second to none. Many restaurants use their fusilli and charge extra for it so buy your own and enjoy with one of their sauces. It comes out fresh from the kitchen in the back. Amazing! They gave me a free bag of pasta this last time which I think is great customer service. Highly recommended. Cash only.

Ren D.

Yelp
I want to like this place because it's around the corner from my apartment and homemade pasta is my favorite. They are cash only (bleh) and almost twice as expensive as Dave's Fresh in Davis with less items to choose from. Even though this store is more convenient location for me, I don't think I'll be back again.

Ghada H.

Yelp
Delicious pasta & sauces! Best part about these products is that they can be made in less than 10 minutes and taste great!

Ken T.

Yelp
Deano's Pasta is the best that I have found. My favorite is the seafood ravioli and unlike brands I've tried, these have actual chunks of delicious seafood inside. All of the pasta that I have had have been extremely good. I love to stock up the freezer because they are excellent for quick dinners. Just boil water and add! They have a variety of sauces that go with each dish too. Our favorite is the Onesto which is very light cream sauce that compliments any plate. I am still looking forward to trying some of the creative combinations they have to offer. And the prices are great too!

A C.

Yelp
Just found out about this place! I think this place is much better than Dave's Fresh Pasta. I only got the ravioli - regular cheese and veggie. Both were delicious. This will be my new place.
