The Best Restaurants In Forest Hills - New York - The Infatuation

"The menu at this casual Middle Eastern restaurant is long, with everything from lamb shawarma and moussaka to savory pastries and a whole grilled chicken - and if you’re having trouble making a decision, the friendly servers will be happy to help. This spot is ideal for a group lunch or dinner when you want to share a bunch of things in a low-key space that happens to have a giant picture of a goddess on the back wall." - Hannah Albertine, Nikko Duren, Bryan Kim, Matt Tervooren

Deasura - Review - Forest Hills - New York - The Infatuation

"Deasura is a casual Middle Eastern restaurant in Forest Hills with a long menu of really good food (plus friendly servers who can help you decide what to order). It has everything from lamb shawarma and moussaka to savory pastries and a whole grilled chicken, and it’s good for a group meal when you want to share a bunch of things in a low-key space that happens to have a giant picture of a goddess on the back wall." - Hannah Albertine

Tasty food. Huge portions...I shared the Mixed Grill and Falafel appetizer with another person, and there was plenty of leftovers to take home. Attentive service. Will definitely be back!

Excellent food and a really nice setting/vibe. Really suitable for a medium-sized group in a way a lot of small restaurants are. The okra is a really surprising side.

We had a delicious dinner here. The garlic whip, homemade hot sauce, all the vegetables and bread was amazing. Our main dishes were tasty and perfectly cooked. And to top it off they make the best Baklava I’ve probably ever had. I feel like I’m in their home enjoying deliciously cooked food and service that’s friendly and caring. I highly recommend.

My wife and I have visited 5 times. Each time was a terrific experience. The decor and ambience makes it inviting to enjoy their wonderful dishes. We order multiple appetizers so we can experience a variety of flavors. The lentil soup is unbelievable and, for me, the Syrian coffee is to die for. The owners chat warmly and make you feel like family. Stop in - it will not disappoint.

The place is no less than wonderful. The food is authentic and delicious. The owner is present and inviting. You are immediately made to feel welcome and part of a family to which you didn't even know you belonged. If you are a true coffee drinker make sure you enjoy some here while sampling the range of deserts. It is served in proportions that ensure a robust flavor. Ask a simple question about the food and get a story and maybe even a surprise from the kitchen you didn't even know existed. This is a gem that hasn't yet been discovered. Skip your normal Forest Hills eatery and try something new that you will truly enjoy and savor. This is great food in a refreshing environment. It is also BYOB.

My friends and I had a wonderful meal and plan on returning with our husbands soon! It was a great location for a girls night out -- numerous great dishes to share and enjoy and the owners let us sit for hours and catch up. Another bonus -- quiet enough to be able to enjoy each other's company! We shared a mezze of lots of appetizers, three entrees, two desserts, and teas all around for four people and had leftovers -- was surprised how reasonably priced. Definitely returning!

This is our third time here coming from Kew garden Four of us with two bottles of wine and an amazing food Every thing was just perfect . The food tasted perfectly seasoned and the the service was fast. We did not feel rushed to leave even though the place was packed. We finished our meal with delicious baklava and Arabic coffee. It was one of our best girls night out

Where to begin. When you walk into an ethnic restaurant and you see a ton of people native to that ethnicity enjoying a meal, it's very telling. It tells you that the food is authentic, fresh and delicious. Well this place was a disappointment. First indicator of not seeing natives eating there, should have been enough to exit the place. However, we decided to give it a chance. The food put the final nail of disappointment in. The food didn't taste authentic, nor fresh and the portions are very small. A little expansive compared to other similar or better restaurants in the area. The service however was decent.
