This is one of the only pizza places that I can say is unforgettable. If you're craving Detroit-style pizza, this place delivers flavor and crispiness in every bite. Offering thick slices of pizza with so many different toppings and flavors, it's hard to choose just one. Pizza by the slice is only available from noon to 4 PM, so plan accordingly if you just want a quick bite. The staff is super friendly and efficient, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. The interior was sleek and modern, and just my vibe. Whether you're a local or just passing through Delray Beach, Death By Pizza is more than a meal. Five stars, no hesitation.

Update -- Friday, 12/6/25 We finally had a pizza... and OMG, YUMMMMM! We ordered the Rupert Pupkin -- fried chicken Milanese, mozzarella, vodka sauce, pecorino, and basil. It's like a deep-dish-style pie with a rich, buttery crust. The vodka sauce was so good we instantly regretted not ordering an extra side just to dip the pizza in. When we picked it up, we couldn't even wait to get home... we each sampled a slice in the car, and it was perfect. We also grabbed a side of wings in the Korean BBQ flavor. They were solid, but we were a little disappointed that they didn't come with blue cheese or ranch -- dips are extra if you want them. Overall, though, both the pizza and the wings were absolutely delicious. Death by Pizza is truly that perfect hole-in-the-wall spot you hit when you're craving a really good pie (they don't do slices) or a solid sandwich. It's not a dine-in place -- you order, pick it up, and take it home... or you end up eating it on the sidewalk because you're too greedy to wait. I've been there. Previously, I hadn't tried their actual pizza yet, but my hubby had -- so that was on the agenda for this visit. Before this, we tried the Vodka Parm Fried Chicken à la Vodka Sando (fried chicken Milanese, vodka sauce, mozzarella, and basil on an Italian seeded roll -- $19) and the Chicken Parm Sando (fried chicken Milanese, sweet sauce, mozzarella, and basil -- $19). Both sandwiches were really good. Our only complaint? We wanted more sauce to dip them in. We're greedy -- but honestly, that's just how good they were.

My hubby and I tried a couple of different plates, such as the chicken parm sandwich, meatball sub, mozzarella sticks, a slice of cheese pizza, and a slice of pepperoni with jalapeno. The chicken parm is huge and tasty. The meatball sub is more up my alley. The meatballs were great! The pizza slices were good, but we weren't in love with them. Our least favorite thing was mozzarella sticks; they were meh. The breading doesn't seem to have any seasoning or flavor, and the vodka sauce was okay as well. Finally, the service was quick, given that you can't dine in.

This place may have won "Best Pizza in Palm Beach County," but lately it feels like things have gone downhill. I'll admit I'm a little biased because I don't eat meat or chicken, but the vegetarian options have really taken a hit. They took the mushroom pizza off the menu -- one of the only great non-meat choices they had. If you're lucky, you might snag a lone slice at lunch, like it's some rare endangered species they occasionally release back into the wild. Their grandma pizza is so plain. Boring, actually. And their idea of a vegetarian pizza seems to be "throw some broccoli on it." I don't know who asked for broccoli pizza, but it definitely wasn't me. I really wish they'd get creative again, the way they were when they first opened. Right now it feels like the menu only shines if you're a carnivore. No substitutions, limited options, and not much love for people who don't eat meat. Feels like they got a little too big for their small-business britches. Hopefully they bring back some originality -- and maybe the mushroom pizza while they're at it.

Spinach dip pizza was amazing! Chicken à la vodka sandwhich was below average for me. Huge but not much flavor.

I tried the Vodka Chicken Parm from Death by Pizza and WOW. It's definitely on the pricier side, but the sandwich is massive and absolutely delicious. The chicken was super tender, the vodka sauce was so flavorful, and everything was perfectly melty and messy in the best way. Totally worth it -- I'd 100% get it again.

Wow, just wow. We started with the meatballs and whipped ricotta (so good) and moved onto the main act: the Gandolfini pizza which consisted of sweet Italian sausage, roasted red peppers, caramelized onions, roasted garlic, mozzarella, sweet sauce, basil, and a drizzle of honey. The pie is so fluffy and delicious and the flavor is unmatched *Chefs kiss* We added the garlic bread (a must), and it did not disappoint. This place came highly recommended and totally lived up to the hype. We'll definitely be back to try one of their weekly specialty pies!! and I've got my eye on the garlic parm wings on their menu for next time.

I drove all the way from Miami just to eat at Death By Pizza, and let me tell you.......it's absolutely worth the trip! At first, I wasn't sure we'd enjoy it since my kids and I are usually thin crust-only fans. But several pushes from my friends, we gave it a shot. One and a half hours later, we were in pizza heaven! The pesto pizza was my personal favorite and I thoight it was the reason for the name of the restaurant, because it truly was to die for! The crust had the perfect crunch, and the flavor was absolutely incredible. I've never had anything like it. We also tried the Burnt Tips pizza, loaded with flavor! It had a generous helping of onions (a little more meat would've made it perfect for me), but it was still great! My son ordered a wrap and couldn't believe the size! It was huge! He tore it up nd said it tasted amazing. My daughter went for the vodka pizza with pepperoni, and WOW! One bite and I could see why she didn't want to share. It was packed with bold, delicious flavors. Luckily that pizza wasnt sold by the slice so I snatched a slice before she and her best friend could eat them all! We loved it so much, we went back the very next week! The first time, we ate at their sit down location in a peaceful, calm neighborhood. It was a great atmosphere. Amazing service and the greeters were so professional and sweet. Almost made me feel I was walking into a 5 star fine dining restaurant! . The second time, we tried their downtown pickup only spot to save time, but the experience wasn't quite the same. That location is more like a pick up locarion and the area has quite a bit of homelessness, so next time we'll definitely return to the original sit down location. Bottom line? Death By Pizza is hands down one of the best pizza spots in South Florida. Unique flavors, great portions, and a totally memorable experience. We're already planning our next trip! But this time Im taking several boxes and freezing slices so we can defrost for later! Oh! One more thing! I completely forgot about the meatball pizza. It wasnt as good as the others i felt. It has the potential to be great but the meatballs lacked flavor. We ordered an entire pie of that one and yet I was so underwhelmed by that pizza that I forgot to include it in my review. I would still go to to Death by Pizza since the majority of the pizzas we had were amazing

Service was great and the staff was very helpful helping my wife choose a pizza. So my wife ordered the NEW! ABAGNALE ezzo's pepperoni cups, sweet onion, torn burrata, mozzarella, sweet sauce, basil & hot honey. It was very tasty my only con is that it was soggy and it fell apart. I ordered two slices of the buffalo bill, it was delicious. If you like anything wit buffalo sauce this a must have!

I want to start this off with I will definitely be back. The pizza here is phenomenal. Not my typical choice of pizza, but it's delicious! They use good quality products and it shows! The 50/50 gnocchi was ok at best. Maybe it's because I make the best homemade pesto, but I did not like the pesto gnocchi, flavor was lacking.. it tasted like it could've been pesto from a jar.. the house vodka half tasted better, I would probably never order that again. The short rib Pappardelle was delicious! And I must try! I definitely want to try more items off the menu, it's definitely worth the hype I'm seeing all of our social media. Service here was good, staff was very friendly

I have been wanting to try DBP for a while and never had the opportunity. When it comes to pizza, my wife doesn't care for some of the ingredients that the more "Fancy" or "Artisan" places tend to use. When I saw this weeks specialty slices included the Philly Cheesesteak, and I had to pass by for a meeting a little further north, this was my opportunity to try them. I got there a few minutes before noon and waited penitently. When welcomed in they had a bunch of different pizzas hot and ready to go. I selected the Philly (Obviously) and the Buffalo. Both of which were adorned with finishings to make them look even more tasty and delicious. The Philly was excellent, they put a little whiz on top and spread it over the onions and steak. Not too messy as the cheese congealed and was quite east to be eaten. The Buffalo was also delicious, not too spicy and well topped. The total for two slices (and a beverage) was less than $13 and in today's financial climate, reasonable. I would like to try their vodka parm sandwich in the future. Place was clean, lots of help working to ensure pizza was available to the masses that appeared out of nowhere when the door opened.

The pizza was amazing! We are pizza pros ourselves owning a business in the keys and it is different types of pizza but was still awesome. The sauce is a little bit sweet for us but everything was great. (Ate it too quickly to get a photo!)

This is the new and "best" pizza place in Delray. I was excited to try it and while it was good, I think it's a little overhyped. After placing an order for pickup, it was a 1.5 hour wait, which turned into two hours, as the pizza wasn't ready on time. The guy did apologize for the delay, which was nice. There's also no dining room so you either have to pick up or get it delivered. There's also no parking and the wait to pick up is always out the door. We ordered an eggplant pizza and a white pizza. The white was my favorite and it packed a lot of flavor. The eggplant was okay. The eggplant was chewy and there wasn't enough sauce on the pizza. Given its Detroit style, the crust is really thick. They also coat their crust in either oil or butter. It's a little too thick for my liking, but the dough is moist and fluffy. The prices are also incredibly expensive but the pizza is really filling so be prepared to have leftovers. Two pieces filled me up. Overall, I still prefer thin pizza and I do think this place is overrated. I wouldn't hesitate to go back but I'm also not rushing to go back.

I've been meaning to drive over to Downtown Delray Beach to check out this pizza shop I've had my eye on for a few years from Instagram. The shop is very tiny I must warn so I had to eat in my car but that's not a issue for me but just want to give a heads up if you are planning on dining in. I ordered the Mr. White slice that was doughy on the inside and crispy on the outside as these are thick Detroit style slices. One and I was done! Very VERY filling so keep that in mind when you are looking at all the yummy slice options. Ingredients tasted fresh and the service was quick. So glad I finally got to try this South Florida hot spot for myself!

They serve up deep dish pizzas and sandwiches packed with flavor. I tried a bite of the pepperoni which had a good balance of sauce, cheese and meat. I had a slice of the buffalo chicken and this was a good pick! The chicken is smothered in a spicy, tangy buffalo sauce and the soft, warm crust has a nice crunch. It's a bit of a drive from where I live and a pick up only establishment so I had to find a place to pull over and eat. There's no way I was waiting until I was back home. If you're in Delray and craving deep dish pizza, Death By Pizza is a great option. I'd recommend ordering ahead to avoid the rush and having to wait too long.

Delicious pizza. I can not wait to try the food. $12 for two "Detroit" style pizza with a drink. Fair price for the area. The employees are friendly and service was quick. The pizza really really is delicious It's very small and no seating so that kind of stinks but the pizza is worth it

It's a must go! I will be going back to try more things. I love unique places like this. Florida needs more good pizza joints like this. Ambiance - it's a takeout joint, there's barely enough room for a handful of guests to stand inside. Service - was typical for a takeout joint, the welcome could have been a little warmer but not rude, considering the uniqueness Food- was delicious I got the highly reviewed Vodka Roni and it was gooooood. Very unique with the Vodka source and the onions were a great touch. The crust is very good and the cheese is thick and excellent too. Mmmm I ate 4 slices and can't eat more. So filling! I also got a small order of the honey Buffalo chicken tenders and they were good too. The guy at the register said they are one of the best things on the menu. I kindly disagree , the pizza was much better! I am anxious to try more. Perhaps I need to go at lunch to try a variety of slices which it seems they do during that time of the day.

The name of this place should be Nirvana by Pizza rather than Death by Pizza. If you like Detroit style pizza with thick, bread-y crust, then you will love Death by Pizza. They feature 15 different pizzas on their menu, including a rotating weekly special. But don't try deviating from the listed pizzas. That would be a big "No". You get what they give you... and you will indeed be happy! And don't expect to dine in. You get what they give you either in person for takeout or for delivery. The menu also includes some appetizers and salads (and sandwiches/wraps for lunch) and a few desserts, but the whole point of eating Death by Pizza fare is to indulge in the amazing pizzas. When I stopped by to pick up our pizza, I did notice a tempting stack of large (1/2 lb according to the menu!), presumably fresh-baked chocolate chunk cookies. Hmmmm! We had the Roni Jabroni pizza featuring the cupped, slightly spicy pepperoni. The pizza had plenty of those little cups of joy on it. My only complaint is that the mozzarella cheese didn't cover the entire pizza. The "sweet" sauce (aka their regular tomato sauce) was delicious and contained some small chunks of tomatoes. Fresh and flavorful! The Vodka Roni pizza made with vodka sauce also sounded delightful. Maybe next time! Yes, the pizzas are a bit pricey, but where else can you feed 2 - 3 people (and maybe even 4) for about $30? Now that I've discovered Nirvana by Pizza, er, Death by Pizza, I will continue to explore their pizza menu and enjoy their creative offerings.

Death by Pizza was served at a party I was at and it was sooooo good. We had the Roni Jabroni, Meatball Burrata and Vodka Roni. The crust is perfectly soft with the crisp edges and the sauce had just enough sweetness and tang. Even people who aren't fans of Detroit style pizza thought it was excellent. If you are looking for a great thick crust pizza, this is it.

Delicious pizza!! The roasted garlic puree is a real game changer. And the pizza had the crispiest pepperoni cups. I want to erase my memory and try the Nosferatu pizza for the first time all over again. Parking was difficult to find and was very tight. Worth the hour drive we made to this spot. You'll see us again.

Finally got to try this gem....Detroit-style pizza with yummy gooey cheese in every bite, hearty eggplant parm sando and tasty chocolate chip cookies. Wait time was not long and service was speedy. This is a pickup only restaurant with side parking, and online order options. The price of the pizzas are definitely worth their tastes. Will be back again.

Death by Pizza started as a post pandemic pop up from brother and sister Koby and Zoey Wexler. They specialize in Detroit style, a deep-dish rectangular pizza which they finish off with creative toppings. After opening the concept, they were soon selling out of 400 pies a night. They expanded into this takeout location in 2022. The Wexler's also own Two Fat Cookies and you would be extremely remiss not to pick up a chocolate chip cookie from Death by Pizza. This is one of the places that caught my eye on Instagram and was on my short list for trying on my winter break school from school. I am so glad I finally made it to Delray Beach because all the hype was on spot on. The Palm Beach Post has awarded them the title of 2024 Best Pizza in Palm Beach County picked by readers. There is a free dedicated parking lot on the same side of the shop just west of it and there are a few more spaces in front. The pizza shop space is tight with no seating. They are strictly take out but a sit down restaurant in West Delray Beach is coming in the new year. The guys working here were busting their behinds to get the pizza out but they weren't too busy to be friendly or go over the options with me. During lunch from 12 to 4, you can order slices and if you buy two, they come with a drink from the cooler ($12). I ordered the Mr. White, made with whipped ricotta, mozzarella and green basil pesto and the specialty pie of the week, Tie Die Chicken Parm with fried chicken Milanese, sweet sauce, basil pesto, mozzarella and pecorino cheese. They were both amazing. A crispy, caramelized seasoned exterior yields to the tender and spongy interior of the dough which serves as the perfect base for the symphony of flavors created by the sauce, cheese, and toppings. Note that they do not allow for substitution or deletion of ingredients and don't forget that gourmet chocolate chip cookie. The oversized cookie is crispy on the outside while being soft on the inside and it is loaded with chocolate just the way I like. Two slices of pizza, a drink, and one cookie with tip came to $20 and I have no regrets.

Their weekly specials are always next-level (and half the fun is seeing what they come up with next). This place is really phenomenal, staff is fast, and friendly......but the reason you came....for the pizza! It's the best Detroit style pizza I have ever had. I had "the Final Vegstination" and they even offer a 15% military/veteran discount. I'll be coming here every time I pop into the area!

At first I didn't see the shop! But it's directly across the street from a cigar shop. And there is some parking directly in the front of the shop. There is no seating which I didn't mind! Just be prepared to not dine in. You can see the entire kitchen which was super cool! The staff so so nice and friendly. During lunch hours they allow you to get individual pizza slices which I did. Omg everything was freaking amazing. I do wish the chicken on the sando was seasoned a bit more but that's just me being picky. The pizza crust was delicious and crispy on the edges. The pizzas are perfectly topped and so flavorful!! And the cookie is Will definitely come back again!

On vacation we like to sample different pizza joints - I'm from Chicago and pizza is a staple. Well, consider me a sell out after eating their Detroit style Vodka sauce pizza. Hands down one of the best pizzas we have had! If you are looking for some unique combinations or a simple mozzarella And marinara - give this place a visit. This is the place / dinner that we will talk about when we talk about our Palm Beach vacation. Never thought pizza could leave that kind of footprint. I only captured our pepperoni pizza...my bad.

Really good Detroit style pizza and it's also great portion size (8 big slices) for your buck! The edges were crispy and the cheese was ambundant. The location was packed with orders which shows how great this place is doing too! Quick and easy pick up. I ordered Mr. white. It was filled with ricotta cheese and pesto drizzle. Wish it came with the tomato sauce but overall would come again!

Came for the fried chicken ala vodka sando and it did not disappoint! My husband tried the roni jabroni pizza slices, they had a perfectly sweetened sauce and Detroit style crust. There inside seating, just a local pick up joint. Best to order ahead as they make things fresh. There are only a few parking spots in the parking lot but dedicated parking.

Great pizza!! One of my favorites in South Florida. However, please be advised that I love Detroit style. If you don't like Detroit style / Sicilian, you won't like this. The sauce is great, cheese is amazing and the crust is the star of the show! Super tasty, fluffy and crispy all in one! 8.8/10

Saw this place on TikTok and drove 45 minutes to try the fried chicken à la Vaca sandwich. It was definitely an 8 1/2 out of 10. Totally worth the drive. The chicken was nice and juicy, bread was fresh with sesame on top. I would say maybe a little extra cheese but that's just my preference. I'm a cheese lover and a little extra sauce. If you are looking for an area to sit down, it is to go only. Since the food is made fresh, you can see them making the pizzas right there. It was about a 20 minute wait. If you're in the area or passing through, I would definitely say it's worth stopping in for a sandwich or pizza to go.

Beyond amazing chicken parm ala vodka Was the most fabulous sandwich I've had in years.

We finally had their Chicken Parm sandwiches. We have seen many posts on social media about these subs. I had the Chicken Parm Ala Vodka and my boyfriend had the original Chicken Parm. They were absolutely amazing!! The bread was unbelievable fresh. There were 2 chicken cutlets per sandwich that were so tender and moist. They were both topped with fresh mozzarella,fresh basil and the most tastiest sauce. We really enjoyed them and can't wait to try their pizza.

After all the recent press, I had to get over here to check out a pie. I thought about going for lunch, when they also sell slices (a good idea that I'd recommend if you're in the area at lunchtime) but I always feel the best way to rate a pie is to have a full pie right out of the oven. While Detroit style is not my number one style choice, I do like it when it's a good one. I ordered the Pepperoni pie, named "Roni Jabroni." Ordered on the Toast app for pickup, it was ready right on time, taking 30 minutes. I arrived 5 minutes early to get a feel for the place. Pickup was super easy as there was a number of street parking spots right in front of the store. It didn't seem like a busy area, so I'm guessing this can be counted on, but not sure. It's a small store, well designed for the employees, and there are a lot of them. They have every station manned and seemed to be handling a large volume of orders... nicely done! The man up front (handling the orders) and the pizza chef both had a friendly and professional attitude. Remember, this place has no seating, and is set up just for pickup (or delivery). All the pizzas I saw coming out from the oven looked fantastic... just check out the photos! My pie was great, nicely cooked, excellent toppings, both quality and quantity, well balanced. I look forward to trying some of their other, more adventurous combos. Nice to see the pizza scene in Delray expanding with quality places like this one. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Cesar salad wrap was bomb! Not as good as some of the other viral places but was very good for not having to wait in line for an hour like you do some other places. Their square pizza was pretty good. Giving it 4 stars because I had to wait outside in the sun for my lunch take out order, and when I asked for a glass of ice to pour my coke into that I got from them, they said they didn't have ice which was pretty disappointing. It was easily 100 degrees out and the coke they gave me from the fridge wasn't even cold.

Excellent Square Pizza- Friendly Staff who are usually too busy for small talk. I've tried the: Enemy (most like an original or margherita), Cryptonite (vodka sauce, basil & mozzarella) and Cacio E Pepe (cacao e Pepe cream sauce, cracked black pepper, extra virgin olive oil, pecorino Romano and mozzarella). How is it unique? They use sourdough and also put cheese over the crust so it is deliciously crispy vs a plain crust. I also tried the chicken parmesean hero but wondered why they didn't put the seeded hero in the oven so that the whole sandwich was warm vs just the cutlet. I didn't love the cutlet- tough plus didn't love the breading. I do love their tomato sauce and can't wait to try more things soon.

Saw this sandwich pop up on a suggested Instagram video and was instantly influenced. Went to go get it an hour later! They have a great looking menu, and I think you definitely get your moneys worth for the sandwich. It has really nice big pieces of chicken but it missed the mark slightly for me. I can't pinpoint what it was exactly but I did end up just eating it without the bread. It wasn't bad by any means but I wouldn't drive out of my way for it again. Definitely a fun place to try if you're in the area though.

The best Pizza in SoFlo?! Though a bit of a car ride, Death by Pizza's accolades were the main reason we knew we had to make the drive. This place is takeout only, so make sure you're able to eat in your car or that you have a nice spot scouted to enjoy your fresh pizza. As you select your slices, they are warmed up to perfection. Pro Tip! If you order 3 slices you get a free soft drink, which that alone spoke to how genius they are. Pizza and soda are a match made in heaven. Make sure to grab a ton of napkins and get to work! What I loved about the slices was the crust. It was crunchy and airy, it provided the perfect support for the healthy amount of toppings they had. We ordered the pepperoni with jalapeño, classic pepperoni and their specialty of the week: chicken vodka. All three were stellar. My favorite was the specialty as it had actual chunks of chicken and their vodka / pesto sauce was extremely fresh. Definitely not out of a jar. My fiancé loved the pepperoni jalapeño as it playfully turned the classic pepperoni into something magical. It was slightly spicy, slight sweet and the crunchy salty pepperoni just sealed the deal. I can't wait to come back.

I'm originally from Chicago, and if you're looking for anything close to the pizza we know and love up there death by pizza is Detroit style pizza will absolutely send you to outer space. Every pizza is so delicious and handcrafted with flavors that will blow your mind-- I would recommend the Roni jamboroni and the red rum pizza!! and also give the buffalo hot honey wings a try! You will not be disappointed !

I ordered 4 different Pizzas and 3 different large salads for a family gathering, for pick-up at their walk-up location in Delray Beach. Everything was ready when promised, and every pizza and salad got rave reviews from my various family members. Great food and Highly Recommended!!

Best pie in Delray Beach. The crust is always perfect, crispy and soft in all the right places. Very good sweet sauce and great vodka sauce. A great assortment of pies. I like their cheesesteak egg rolls for an appetizer, and chocolate chip cookie for dessert. Oh, and be sure to try their chicken parm sandwiches. We love this place.

The Vodka Roni pizza is unreal good. This is seriously the best Detroit-style pizza ever! Death by Pizza absolutely nails it. The crust is perfection, the pepperoni were cupped and crispy, the vodka sauce balanced everything well, and the fresh basil was just the cherry on top of perfection! Friendly staff and pizza was ready right on the estimated time. There are a few parking out front. You can see them making the pizzas in the front, everything looked fresh and clean.
