5 Best Day Trips from Chicago | Condé Nast Traveler

"This family-run spot has been baking in Holland, Michigan for four generations, adding the cozy breakfast and lunch restaurant in 2008. The bakery bustles with to-go diners in the mornings, with cafe bar seating, benches, and banquettes for restaurant diners. The high ceilings and bright lights make for an airy space. DeBoers started as an authentic Dutch bakery, so it's safe to assume that the baked offerings are on lock: Challah, cracked wheat, San Francisco sourdough, French baguette, marble rye—the list goes on." - Jessi Roti, Joseph Hernandez

This was a great brunch. We had to wait maybe 20 minutes for a table after arriving around noon. The cinnamon roll pancakes, corned beef, and chicken and waffles were all delcious. Staff was friendly and food came out quick.

We love Deboer Bakkerij North! The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Their food menu never disappoints, I like to get the Dutch Delight(pictured) and share a pig n the blanket with my forever date. In my opinion, it’s the best spot for your breakfast needs!!

From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, my friend David and I knew we were in for something special. The service was impeccable—attentive yet unobtrusive, a delicate balance that only the finest establishments achieve. David’s burrito arrived, bathed in a fiery hot sauce so bold and exhilarating that it seemed to challenge the very concept of spice itself. He took a bite, eyes widening in approval, as the flavors ignited his senses. Meanwhile, I was presented with the Big Dutch Omelette, a creation that defied the ordinary. Unlike lesser omelettes, whose ingredients are diced into oblivion, this masterpiece allowed me to unfold its delicate layers, savoring each carefully chosen component in its full glory. The cheese—melted to perfection—blanketed the dish in just the right amount, a rich and velvety embrace. The toast, crisp yet yielding, was undeniably fresh, completing the experience with a satisfying crunch. This wasn’t just a meal; it was an experience—one that left us thoroughly impressed and eager to return.

My friend brought me here for breakfast while I was in town. The quality of the ingredients make for amazing dishes. The waiter had great energy, the owner stopped by the table to chat with us. There's a great family vibe in this restaurant. Highly recommend! Instagram: @funas_eats_it

This is a great place for breakfast. Everything we had was good eggs, sausage, klopan cakes, and coffee. Would definitely go again.

Food is usually great. From the restaurant, I recommend the Dutch brothers omelet + Oma’s way, those are two of my personal favorites. I recently tried a specialty omelet, it was very flavorful, but kind of greasy. I wouldn’t order it again as I didn’t think it was worth $17, it was semi smaller than a typical omelette. From the bakery- the ham & Gouda croissants are amazing & the doughnuts are good.

My wife and I stopped here for a late breakfast, a slight detour on our way to Grand Rapids coming from the South off 196. Excellent food and service. We will definitely stop again when we are in the area.

I never thought I would find the best country fried steak and eggs I’ve ever had in south west Michigan but yet here we are. Food, Coffee, service and prices here are all excellent. Was a really great way to start the day off right.
