The Best Restaurants in Beaverton, Oregon | Eater Portland

"Now that Decarli has moved out of the car-free dining hotbed of Old Town Beaverton and over to Hall Boulevard, folks looking for creamy risotto and crispy bruschetta might actually have a shot at getting a table there without reserving days ahead. Alongside offerings like oysters on the half shell and steak tartare, this is a premier spot for pizza and pasta. If available, the house-made squid ink chitarra is a can’t-miss dish, packed with seafood."

This is an amazing Italian restaurant in Beaverton especially if you want to get a candle lit dinner with your significant other! Staff is beyond amazing, Travis was awesome with his suggestions and knowledge of wine selections. Don’t miss out on the ceaser salad and the cheesecake for dessert! Every dish tasted great and the ambiance is awesome! 10/10

My partner and I had dinner with our new frinds last night. I recommended this restaurant because it's clean, the staff is always friendly, and their food is good. I ordered the shortribs and I thought it was a bit too garlicky this time. I LOVE garlic, but it had the bitterness taste of raw garlic. The beef was tender and tasted good as I remebered. Our server was very friendly and patient― He tried not to interrupt our conversation. decarli is hands down one of our favorite restaurants in Portland.

Google
The pizza was delicious, the space felt open and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Overall, a great dining experience!

Google
Decaril is a bit of an odd one. Excellent date night restraunt. Hidden in a strip mall. Once your inside its a classic upscale restraunt. The happy hour in the bar starts earlier than dinner service and makes for a fine place to wait. The pasta dishes are wonderful, and I'd recomend trying them before the short ribs. Becuase you'll probably just keep getting the short ribs. The spatzel pasta is delicious and balances the ribs with their horse radish topping. The brownie and apple crisp are both excellent ways to end the meal.

Google
Although the service and atmosphere were excellent, we were disappointed in the food offered for “happy hour”. The short rib beef sandwich looked great however the taste was a disappointment. Also, there is no value in happy hour as you are only saving $2 on well drinks and paying full price on the food. My advice is to skip the happy hour menu as the food is marginal and options are slim.

Decarli Restaurant – Review Decarli is a cozy, stylish Italian eatery known for its authentic Northern Italian dishes. The menu offers house-made pastas, fresh seafood, and rich sauces that highlight traditional flavors with a modern twist. The ambiance is warm and inviting, ideal for casual dinners or special occasions. Attentive service and a well-curated wine list enhance the experience. A great spot for lovers of genuine Italian cuisine with a contemporary vibe.

Google
What a wonderful meal. We had dinner at DeCarli to celebrate a birthday and absolutes it. Bobbie was so friendly and she helped guide us through the menu selections. She made us feel welcome. The food was excellent and the brownie dessert was amazing. We will definitely go back. Thank you DeCarli for bringing gourmet food to Beaverton.

Google
The attitudes of pretty much everyone needs to be tuned down by a lot and for the love of god refill the drinks. We paid $107 + tip for 2.. wild.. The itty bitty glasses for coke… full of ice.. plus sitting for 10 minutes before a menu even reached us. I won’t be coming back.

Yelp
Great first visit of many to come as we went to Decarli last night. We celebrated Thanksgiving with our daughter as the days ahead will be quite busy. Our server Kristina was terrific. Her timeliness was tremendous. She was so friendly and engaging as well. We wanted to have a slower pace to our meal and Kristina was quite accommodating. We started our meal with three excellent cocktails. A Huckleberry Hound, Royal Hawaiian, and Decarli Manhattan were all quite enjoyable. We split two mixed green salads between the three of us. It was perfectly dressed and quite refreshing. The negative was that Kristina informed us that the kitchen was out of Lasagna, and our daughter had ordered that. She opted for the Maltagliati, and it was perfect. The fresh pasta was so good. My wife had the Tomato/Basil pizza and I had the Short Ribs. All were perfectly prepared. The Bread & Butter that was ordered was nothing special, but still good. The parking was excellent and the vibe in the restaurant is also excellent. We really enjoyed our first experience at Decarli, and will return soon.

Yelp
Way to dark in this establishment, the drinks were the worst I had ever had. We walked out before we decided to order food. They try to hard to be cool. Way to "hipster" for me. The food looked good on the yelp reviews though.
google avatar

Austin N.

Yelp
This restaurant features a rotating seasonal menu set in a dark, moody environment, with tiny candles softly illuminating the dining tables. The ambiance is intimate, and the server was exceptionally knowledgeable, providing valuable insights and thoughtful recommendations. The drinks, while decent, didn't particularly stand out. However, the pizza and beef short ribs stole the spotlight, earning unanimous praise at the table. The salmon was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful. Unfortunately, the grilled octopus was a bit over-charred in some spots, which detracted from the overall flavor. On a brighter note, the pasta had an excellent texture, rounding out the meal nicely.
google avatar

Julie S.

Yelp
My family enjoyed their meals and I loved my beet salad but the baby octopus dish made me sick. Would not recommend. Service was so so. Not sure I like the new space much.

Yelp
We were a table of 3, this was our first time there. Waiter was friendly but gave us a rude vibe towards a couple things. Be careful when you get your check they have already added gratuity on top of your total bill! We were in shock and very disappointed that they would do this.

Rick B.

Yelp
Attentive service. Bistro vibe. Food was great. We started with three our group sharing three appetizers: polenta fries, steamed clams, and bruschetta trio. All were tasty. My entree was a boar ragout over pappardelle. The sauce tasted fresh and the pasta was cooked perfectly.

Yelp
Another fantastic meal! The short ribs are to die for. Great service and actually, the prices seem competitive and fair. A little noisy but worth your time.

Yelp
I just LOVE Decarli! Consistently great food & service & always so cozy! Went tonight for our anniversary. We did not have reservations because we spontaneously popped in after a movie. They were so nice & very accommodating & they still got us in. The seafood linguine was delish! Hubs had pizza & he enjoyed it . They brought us 2 glasses of complimentary bubbles for our anniversary, which was so sweet! I love coming here. It's definitely one of my favorite spots in Beaverton.

Yelp
We tried their New location. The menu stays the same. The bar is more spacious than the old place. They have a parking space, so no parallel parking, and battle to find a spot. We did order some appetizers: trio and oysters. They were great. Nice atmosphere and is perfect for date night.

Yelp
Love Decarli! The Food. The Neighborhood Vibe. The Service. Date Night, Happy Hour, or Single @ The Bar, you'll have a good time. Easy parking, big and open floor plan, hip yet darkened romantic atmosphere with the a little more than the usual Portland casual dining. You can wear a t-shirt but come on. Polo or better here please. *Steak Tartare $19 was outstandingly delicious and beautifully presented cubes of beef with the red onion, capers, and herbs to the side. You mix the raw egg and bits together and pile on the peppered crostini. I'd say "perfect". Paired with the Montepulciano this was a great was to start. *Tagliatelle with Boar Ragu $27 was fantastic with a bright, light, but yet still full flavor. A highlight. While it lasts pair with the 2020 Domaine De La Mavette a Rhone blend. Thank DJ & Decarli you for filling my eyes, heart, and stomach. I will keep coming back for probably the the same thing. Cheers my friend da

Yelp
Will come here again. The atmosphere was nice both for friends to hang out at to date night. The service was amazing. The food was delicious and worth the price. I am very impressed and enjoyed my experience here.

Yelp
I will admit, I was a regular at Fratelli, so I have high expectations. Having been to the previous decarli location (always packed and so loud we couldn't hear each other), we were wondering how this would turn out. Parking was SO much better! We had a reservation for 6:30 on a Friday, and as we walked in there was a large party waiting to be seated. Initially I was ready to rip this review, because the host was actually cleaning and setting up tables (not only for the large party, but many others as well), and she was the only one there, so our 6:30 reservation turned into being seated at 7:00. This had me wondering why we bothered? I watched other servers just hanging around, while this poor host was running ragged (and being treated like a turd by more than one patron). Read on because ... Once we were seated however, our night turned fantastic. We decided to just go all out and ordered a bunch of small (yeah, right) dishes: oysters (yes!), polenta fries (get these, gorgonzola butter sends these over the top), mussels (the broth was incredible), caesar (I could eat this every day) and the strozzapreti - which we were so full from everything else, but I had to take a bite. Honestly this was such a wonderful meal, we don't feel badly about overeating. My super full belly thanks you for an amazing meal. Can't wait to return. From the ample parking, so a space that you can actually hear your date, to the amazing food, and impeccable service - you cannot go wrong. Get a reservation so you're not turned away at the door, but also, be nice to the host.

Yelp
I love Decarli over the years, so I hold Decarli to the very high standards they have established for themselves. On this particular night in July'23 they missed the mark. - crostinis with steak tartare overly salted - smoked halibut salad again overly salted - sadly. the staple saffron mussels also overly salted I politely asked our waiter tonight if any of the sous chefs were new in the past month or so... his curt response was the head chef is the owner... fair... that wasn't my question, nor did he offer to ask if there was feedback he could receive for management... that's okay too, I'll just write it down here. I'm sure I'll be back, they continue to be a wonderful option in the west side. This feedback is for management to read and discern for themselves. Lastly I do agree with other reviews, lately service has dropped a notch. Service business is hard, I don't expect to be served hand and foot, if I do, I'll got to a 3-Michelin star restaurant and pay through the nose... but the nonchalant service lately speaks very loudly... and it's perceived by many.

Garrett N.

Yelp
Have been here a few times. We enjoy the menu choices and the food. Had a wonderful interaction with the owner. She clearly values her customers and takes the time to make sure all guests receive the best food and service. We live a little ways out of town but the drive into town is definitely worth it. Cant wait till our next visit. If you haven't been to Decarli yet, please give it a try...you will not be disappointed!

Tammy W.

Yelp
Excellent food, excellent service! You have to order the polenta fries for sure! Never disappointed!!! Amazing happy hour too!!! Love their new location as it's easy to find parking!
google avatar

Yelp
We went wild for the Polenta Fries. Perfectly crisped, fluffy on the inside, and with a touch of melted butter on the side, you'd be forgiven for eating just that your entire meal. Of course, there's more to explore. The grilled octopus was perfectly cooked so it was a bit charred but not rubbery at all. The Cavatelli was not all that impressive to me, I think it could have been more flavorful but the snow like dusting of cheese on top is certainly worth trying. Then there's the pizzas, and as basic as it might seem to go to an Italian restaurant and eat pizza, this is where I'd put my money and my mouth. As everything at Decarli, so too are the pies and MY, how magnificent. Wood fired to perfection, each topping complementing the rest. I can't even decide between which was my favorite so you too will have to try them all. As far as the ambience, quite dark and moody. It will take time for your eyes to adjust but I like that it's so wide open. Simple and elegant. It's a vibe, I dig it. The service was excellent. Food came promptly, they were very attentive to our needs, and very accommodating for our little baby. Overall, can't wait to come back for more!

Yelp
Made reservations for dinner. The restaurant had a very open layout and candles at every table. It was a nice/ casual dinner vibe. We ordered the mussels and bruschetta for the appetizers and the mussels were amazing! I would definitely recommend getting the mussels. We also ordered a couple of the pastas and the short ribs. I would definitely get the short ribs again. We also got the brownie and pans cotta for dessert which were both yummy. Altogether, it was a pleasant dinner and I would go back for the mussels and the short ribs. I will say it did take a bit of a wait for our food.
google avatar

Christopher M.

Yelp
I had a really good pork chop, and the wife had some pasta I can't remember which one. The pork chop was one of the best I've ever had. Plus the octopus was a must try. One of those things I had to try, and it wasn't bad, but it wasn't something I'd seek out again.
google avatar

Nathan S.

Yelp
Solid option for Italian style food. I'm a pasta maker and lived in Italy for a couple of years. I can say I was actually pleased with Decarli's made from scratch pasta...very similar to homemade (and that's what you want from a good restaurant serving up pasta). Service was great. Ambiance was good for chatting with to your date or table mates. It has a vibe of being a nicer restaurant but you don't have to get extravagant. I did not try their salted caramel cheesecake; however I had three people tell me within a few days of going that their cheesecake is the best they've ever had. Needless to say, I will be returning to Decarli's for cheesecake and of course, more pasta.

Yelp
Discovered that their mushroom pizza is super delightful. It's definitely worth ordering.

Yelp
Good food, good service. A lot more higher end than Olive Garden, but not that true homestyle Italian, but I was hoping for. The short ribs are really good, and the Caesar dressing was one of the best I've ever had. The pricing was a little expensive, I don't know that I would be back because of this.
google avatar

Jody L.

Yelp
We came here for my birthday dinner, party of 4. The place was quite dark but it had a warm atmosphere. We ordered 4 appetizers, 4 main dishes and 4 drinks. This has got to be the most tastiest Italian food I've had in a long time. The flavors were bursting. Their menu changes according to what's in season which I love. The service was great. I will be coming here again.
google avatar

Margie J.

Yelp
Delicious food. Amazing service. Will come again. Short ribs were a hit. I had an excellent pasta. Very knowledgeable server.

Yelp
They must have changed management. The old location had great food and service. This new location has rude and untrained staff. They have so many servers just standing around, talking to each other, and joking around. You have a full house. Tend to your tables!!! No smile, no eye contact, it's so bad. Long wait for a menu. It's 5pm and I only got a happy hour menu. Where is the dinner menu? Long wait to order food. Long wait to get my bill. When I say long, I mean 15 mins. 45 mins of unproductive time. I had to flag down a server to get her attention. She never stopped by my table on her own. The server was either just standing around, or tending to the fuller tables. The new location is too dark. All the windows are tinted, so no natural lighting. The rib sandwich was so inedible and gross. I couldn't eat it. I will wait for 6 months and hope they get their act together by then.
google avatar

Nancy Y.

Yelp
The service is a little slow. When they brought out my takeout food, it was cold. I normally eat in and it's usually pretty good. However it's kind of pricey for Beaverton area.
google avatar

Cindy H.

Yelp
Good 'ole Decarli! I can't recall ever having a bad meal here including last Thursday night. The best bread and butter!! Decent charcuterie board although the crostini was so hard it fell apart at the first bite. Very minor snafu. Grilled octopus was excellent, tender and nice char. I loved my tagliatelle with pancetta, corn, shishito peppers, park and some other goodies. Tasty sauce. My husband was blown away by his pork chop which was at least an inch thick! and not at all dry! Service was fine! Our server takes his job seriously. Nothing wrong with that but we enjoyed putting a smile on his face by being extra fun! I dropped a star because I miss the character of the former location. It has the ambiance of the buffet restaurant it was formerly. The middle of a strip mall with letters 6' high outside just doesn't seem to fit the class of the food offerings. I get that they can serve probably twice the people at once now. Still, I can't help mourning the more intimate hustle and bustle of Decarli's original home.
google avatar

Matthew D.

Yelp
We both got the short ribs and split the polenta fries and beet salad. We finished with the caramel cheesecake. My gf got the Gemini drink and said it was strong and delicious. Everything was amazing!
google avatar

Saadat I.

Yelp
Visited Decarli for the second time and it was just as impressive as the first. Their wild boar pasta is a standout dish, offering a rich and flavorful experience. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a delightful culinary experience. All the food tastes fresh and despite the unassuming exterior, it's quite homey inside. The service and food are outstanding. We'll be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Went for belated Valentines dinner last night! Service was exceptional as always. we sat in the bar such a well designed restaurant- comfortable, good lighting and beautiful detail. We love the mussels, burgers, salads and short ribs. Can't believe we've been coming here 17 years. How you keep your quality so well after all these years is amazing to me.
google avatar

Yelp
The kids menu is fantastic and the best value. The pizza is very large and we didn't know and ordered four pizzas because we had 6 kids, they are adult size pizzas. Also the butter pasta for kids was excellent and good value. Atmosphere is also good for kids, large open and loud space. The adult meals are also good however I dropped a star. Because my pasta was too al dente/hard and chewy. I got the squid in pasta. My friends cavatelli pasta was much better. Good eats here! Tons of parking. Our staff was super friendly and helpful/attentive.
google avatar

Brenda H.

Yelp
My partner and I went here for a date night on a Wednesday evening. He made reservations to ensure we got a table, it was busy even on a Wednesday night! It has a dark, contemporary vibe. The menu has some interesting options. We shared a burrata appetizer, it was so delicious and I've never had it before. It was creamy and the rhubarb pairing gave it a nice sweetness. My partner got the the torchil pasta which was delicious. It was paired with a spicy sausage. I got the Beef short ribs which were braised with espresso and prune. It sounds like an odd combination but it worked really well and the ribs were so tender, you didn't even need a knife. We finished off our night with some crème brûlée and salted caramel cheesecake for dessert. The cheesecake was not super sweet surprisingly and was served in a small cup without a crust. Great texture and pairs well with the caramel. The crème brûlée was creamy and smooth. The topping has a nice crack when you get into it. Overall, delicious food, pleasant service. The restaurant was also decently quiet considering the crowd, so you could have a conversation with your group with ease.

Yelp
The new Decarli has opened with more parking and intimate lighting. It's located off hall Blvd in the old hometown county buffet. I really dig the interior with the wood elements and darker paint. The lighting is dim but it's not dark like a movie theater. Our party ordered some appetizers and the horror started here. We ordered the baby octopus , beet salad, bruschetta sampler and beef tartare I think the chef was on rotation but it was blatantly intentional to add an overwhelmingly amount of cumin and chickpeas on all the appetizers besides the beef tartare. The baby octopus had a rich seafood broth but the cumin was overpowering like if you added tablespoons of salt to a dish. Some kind of Mediterranean / Moroccan vibe that was disgusting and unbalanced in flavors. Maybe it was just this one appetizer Well the beet salad would have been refreshing but there were undercooked chickpeas and more cumin on the beets with too much vinegar. Not even pickled because all I could taste was more cumin and vinegar. That's the second offense Strike three was the beef tartare my friend ordered. The little slices of bread had large holes where the meat just fell through. I thought it was a joke because Decarli is supposed to be one of the most celebrated restaurants in Beaverton. I've eaten at Decarli on several occasions for work party dinners and for weekend meals so it's not my first time. How the appetizers were prepared just had me baffled. There was no nuance in how the cumin was used. The bruschetta was ok but clumsy to share as the bread was so thinly sliced and all the ingredients fell off. You'll have to ask to get table bread but for the appetizer is bread being rationed? The mushroom pizza was the savior for the night. No deviation or heavy cumin. The dinner experience would have been better if Chef Cumin were not working. Nice new place, great interior with lots of parking. Whoever made the appetizers really should follow the recipes and not experiment like that. Decarli is still okay for pizza but really the experience in quality was something out of a kitchen nightmare.

Yelp
They moved locations! Never went to the old one but I heard it's more spacious now. Great service from the staff - friendly, quick, attentive. Their food was all pretty good! Steak tartare was delicious but a tad too salty from the capers maybe! The squid ink pasta tasted delicious. The pasta itself was a little too al dente and not much chewiness if that makes sense. Pizza was a solid choice. Overall would definitely come back if I'm in the area. I'm not sure why but I thought this place was going to be very expensive but was pleasantly surprised.

Yelp
Decarli's new location is a hit! Although I was not a regular at the previous location, I feel as if this setting is MUCH bigger. This restaurant seems perfect for a family dinner; the last time I had a thought of coming here, we were unable to get in because of such a big party size (8). On another note, although the outside of the restaurant seems quite outdoor-mall like, the dimmed blinds makes the focal point of your visit great food, and the great people you are accompanied by. Also, whoever did the interior design did well! The service on the grand opening was fantastic. In regards to the food, everything was quite great! polenta fries: airy and quite tasty. Reminded me of a salted churro. I've never had a dish quite like this so it was different! Caesar salad: had quite the balsamic after taste-- can't say i'm a fan of balsamic but I sure am of fresh greens! new york strip steak: Cooked incredibly well. However, the asparagus and steak tasted like balsamic. If I was a fan of balsamic, then this review would be 5/5! I'm curious, are most dishes to have a balsamic taste? lemon olive oil cake: Very, very good. It was light, delicate and the lemon flavor was refreshing. The raspberry coulis was a great touch with the lemon. 10/10 gelato trio: the cinnamon scoop was incredibly good. Wish I had got two scoops of cinnamon and 1 of s'mores. The s'mores scoops were incredibly rich. I think the chocolate may be dark chocolate. Overall, I do feel like my review is quite mixed. The setting was great, however I was quite surprised with the tastes of our caesar salad and new york strip steak. They weren't bad by any means, however they both had balsamic tastes to them; my partner had both dishes and agreed as well. I wonder if anyone else had the same experience, and if the taste is a signature of Decarli. We will be back to try the pizza and have more scrummy deserts.

Yelp
First timers, we had the meatballs, well seasoned and tasty. Large indoor dinning area, noise level was acceptable, service was good but not great (they were very busy)
google avatar

Adrian S.

Yelp
I came here for a work dinner. The service was decent but the waiter was a little inconsistent and forgot a couple of orders, but they did let us stay past closing. We received our orders pretty fast and they had a great wine selection. U ordered some type of pasta with wild boar. The post was well cooked but overall the dish had muted flavors. Everything kind of blended together. I wouldn't order again but many of my coworkers really enjoyed the steak. The apple crisp dessert with ice cream was decent but a little too sweet for my taste

Kash K.

Yelp
Food was sooooo good!! The atmosphere was romantic! Everything was top-notch! We had the beef short ribs and the steak, both were just delicious! Service was also fast.

Yelp
first time back to decarli since its remodel. brought my brothers family and had an horrible customer services with the server name Andrew G . we were hoping for a great services instead he usher us through the menu not explaining anything to us about the pasta if its red or white sauces. also never came back to check on us about the food or refilled our strawberry lemonade.

Yelp
It's been a long time since I dined at Decarli and first time going to new location. Although new space is much bigger, still has a romantic, dimmed lights ambiance. Amazing service as usual! Reservation recommended even for a week night dinner. Steak tartare - amazing! Made fresh to order, perfect seasoning Chicken liver mousse - didnt care for sweet taste Pizzetta (not pictured) - got the tomato sauce, mozzarella , roasted garlic, basil - liked the thin crust! Polenta fries (not pictured) - must have, classic menu item that I get every time farfalle with shrimp - I didnt care for heavy fennel taste and sauce seemed bland Definitely plan to go back soon!

SeattleTwins ..

Yelp
Both yelp and google say they close at 10 PM- see images. No one picks up the phone (voicemail). We walk in a few mins after 9 PM- no one is tending to the reception. Many empty tables with Patrons occupying a few tables spread apart. A gentleman comes to the frontdesk after a little while and upon informing him we called and also attempted to make a reservation thru Resy. He informs us Nonchalantly that they close at 9 PM. Clearly they did not want our business. Disappointing!

Brian T.

Yelp
Don't even try this place! Whoever says this is good Italian food has never actually tried a good Italian restaurant or ventured out of their comfort zone. Ordered several dishes, had one bite and just left it as is. Dishes were either salty (not edible), undercooked and heavily sauced. Nice try!
google avatar

Travis T.

Yelp
Extremely slow service, but the food makes up for it. We came here on a Saturday night as a party of 6 at 6pm. We didn't get the bill until almost 9:30. They said a computer system was down and were very apologetic about the slow service. The restaurant is huge and I liked that the tables were spread out away from other guests. For drinks I got the Manhattan. I don't order a Manhattan very often, but I enjoyed the ones I had here. For starters we got the Caesar salad, octopus, and burrata. I liked all of them and would recommend ordering. For my entree I had the beef shortribs and they were FANTASTIC! Great flavor, very tender, and the creamy spaetzle it was served on was delicious. I will come back here just to get that again. Finally, for dessert we had the salted caramel cheesecake. It was served in a cup and tasted pretty good, but I missed having the graham cracker crust of a traditional cheesecake.

Yelp
We've been coming here for a few years now;whenever we are in Beaverton visiting the kids and now grandkids too! These folks care about food and understand how important quality service is... and now.. a much bigger place and so easy to get to .. the meatballs are our mainstay appetizer and tonight we tried the pizza sopresotta and duck ragu ... epic folks!!! You just can't go wrong at DeCarli's!! Bravo!!

Jay S.

Yelp
Cute restaurant, especially for being in a little strip mall. Better than expected. The octopus appetizer was the best thing we had out of everything. We were bummed about their spaghetti meatballs. Sauce tasted like it's out of a can. Wasn't good at all and it was too heavily sauced. The short ribs are apparently what they're known for and in our opinion it wasn't anything phenomenal. Too rich and sweet in flavor, needed something to cut thru the sauce reduction... I guess I prefer a wine/tomato flavoring instead of their sauce. The pizza was good and service was good. She could have been friendlier but she did a good job at checking up and making sure drinks were refilled- just needed to smile and be more friendly.

Yelp
It's no secret that I have been a decarli disciple for years. It has become my favorite restaurant to celebrate with family and friends. I love the food, and the people who prepare and serve it. When they moved to the Old Town Buffet location, I was curious to see how they would pull off such an ambitious move...would decarli keep it's intimate dark and stormy feels? Would the menu be challenged by the new space? Would my favorite servers make the switch over? It took me awhile to come back, because of summer and travels, but I am pleased to report that the new space echoes the old space: only more so. What it may have lost in intimacy, it gained in a more spacious restaurant with a much larger bar area, and a much improved parking experience. Gone are the days of driving around the block several times and tripping over downtown Beaverton's terribly broken sidewalks. I even love the new interpretation of the old space, including the chandeliers and industrial lighting, with the touches of brick and barnwood, and the much improved restrooms. If you've never been to decarli, you need to go. The food is amazing, and the service is second to none. Must-trys are the polenta fries, the mussels, the pizzettas, the pastas, and you absolutely have to order the short ribs. It has always been the most consistent restaurant in Portland, and it remains so. Pay no attention to the curmudgeon who hates change ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yelp
Awesome food, drinks, and service. Make reservations for parties 4 or more, otherwise you can probably find seats in the bar area. Great value and fantastic date night!

Yelp
Bigger location with more parking availability so that is a huge plus to the new location! The service here is amazing, our waiter was very attentive to our needs and came back at the perfect moments. Tons of great drink options, I switch it up every time! We ordered the steak tartare (my first time trying it! I was nervous at first because raw meat scares me) and it turned out delicious! I was surprised that I enjoyed it. Definitely the place to try it if you've always been curious. We also ordered the squid ink pasta (I couldn't find the proper name since it wasn't on their online menu) but it had shrimp and corn in it and was very delicious! Lastly, the pepperoni pizza with pineapple and olives was really good with a little bit of a spicy kick. I only wish they had more options for dessert. :(

Yelp
I tried to call twice during business hours, but their phone is set to a recording with no option to leave a voicemail. My husband and I had dinner there on Thursday evening for our anniversary. We had a very nice time. Service in the dinner room was very nice, food tasted great. However, I became very sick a few hours later. I was up all night from obvious food poisoning. My husband was fine, but I had 3 raw oysters and he did not. Since I became extremely sick I believed it was important to let you know so possibly no other customers would be exposed. Not pleased that there was no way to contact anyone there directly.
