"Restaurant incubator Decatur Bar & Popup Factory will close on Halloween, less than a year after opening in the former original Beaver’s space. The Old Sixth Ward Historic District project from original Beaver’s partners Adam Brackman and chef Monica Pope set chefs up with three-month residencies, acting as a temporary testing ground for their inaugural restaurants." - Tierney Plumb

Went in with no expectations, came out impressed. The service was excellent. The manager brought us water right after we sat down. The server politely told us she'd be right with us. She was very friendly and gave us a great run down of the menu. We started with the salmon ceviche. There was a little chili in it and tons of lemon that made it super fresh with a little kick. I'm a fan of whole fish so my wife and I decided to skip the restaurant week menu and get the whole red snapper, which comes with coconut rice, mango/papaya salad and one additional side at market price, which was $50. It was easily enough food for 3-4 people. The fish was amazing and cooked perfectly. We got the carrot side. It was a good carrot dish. The mango/papaya salad was also tasty. I highly recommend the whole fish. It's a great value when shared between a few people.

The idea of a pop-up eatery where the chefs are rotated pop up food events with food trucks is certainly unique. Chef Evelyn's southeast asian and Mexican fusion dishes look super tasty and unique, and really I wished we could have tried them before the kitchen closed for the day (I wanted to try the fried chicken wings with curry sauce in particular). Lots of unique dishes on the menu with good happy hour deals. The decor was inviting and spacious and well. The place was surprisingly empty, but we got the reverse happy hour deals and got some lovely cocktails. The red silk smoking jacket cocktail was smoky and delightful to taste. Would NOT recommend the thai/islay tea though. Pearls were not the normal bubble tea ones and were chewy with a hard tapioca taste. The sherry did not complement the rest of the drink, and I found it a bit like drinking medicine. Super great ambiance though- would definitely come back for the food

We noticed there was an ongoing pop up brunch when we dropped by on a Sunday afternoon. The vibe was particularly vibrant with a crowd that appeared to be having a good time. The DJ was set up in the main area, and kept the lively mood going. I had the peach banana stand cocktail which was strong and refreshing.

Wonderful dinner and drinks!!! I’ve driven past by this place so many times and finally went in with friends. I came in first just for drinks and had the Red Silk Smoking Jacket...AMAZING! The presentation and flavor were delightful. While sitting at the bar my friend and I saw a fish passing by, a WHOLE fish, it looked so amazing we started looking at the food menu and thats when we were hooked...we planned a friends dinner for the next week. My friends and I had the chicken wings, whole fish (fried per our waitress’s recommendation), massaman curry, seasonal greens all with coconut rice. Everything was so delicious....so much so I forgot to take pics! We had the mango rice and Thai milk cake for dessert. One of the managers came up during our meal to ask how things were going, the service, ambiance, oh and did I mention live jazz music and dancing?! Everything was wonderful, a great night out. I can highly recommend this Pop-Up factory and chef Evelyn...well done all round.

Chef Evelyn is amazing! We went to one of the family style dinners and had some amazing food. Everything in our four course meal was very original and it all tasted amazing. Good selection of drinks from the bar too. Glad to see a new place go in at the site of the old Beavers restaurant.

Winner of Chopped, Chef Evelyn is at Decatur. The green curry was phenomenal. The chicken sandwich was also the #1 pick for the second time for my daughter. The hatch pepper vodka cocktail with cucumber was quite refreshing and unique, a nice hangout spot, good location. Great combination for the white chocolate base dessert, loved by both my young adults accompanying me.

Amazing new restaurant! The pop-up restaurant here is so intimate and unique. Absolutely loved the food and the wonderful interaction with the chef as she describes each dish, her inspo and key ingredients she used and why. Make sure to try their spicy frozen cocktail (forgot the name of it) but it’s incredible! Probably my fav cocktail ever!
