5 Dreamy Hawaiian Date Spots in Waikiki

"Perched on the third floor of the Queen Kapiolani Hotel with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and Diamond Head, this casual, accessible spot is ideal for lunch, happy hour, or a romantic dinner under the stars. The menu of contemporary American–Pacific fare includes comfort-forward items such as a braised beef loco moco and barbecue lilikoi pork ribs; guests can also choose a signature prix fixe menu that allows personalization of appetizer, entrée, and dessert, and pair meals with handcrafted cocktails and locally brewed beers. It's an easy walk from Waikiki Beach for those exploring on foot." - Tawny Clark

We came by for a drink and some appetizers during its Happy Hour (2-6 pm). The food was fine, nothing spectacular, but the view was. The Kona beer that I had was very good at $6 a can, no complaints there. Our server was cheerful and attentive. It’s a wonderful place to relax when the crowds start to thin out in Waikiki. Note: during its Happy Hour, you can only order from its limited menu, so this review is pertaining only to its Happy Hour menu.

Google
I found this place randomly, and luckily it was very close to my hotel. The view of Diamond Head was fantastic — absolutely amazing! I arrived during happy hour and started with a Mai Tai, then ordered a Caesar salad with fries and the beef sliders. The highlight, though, was the fried calamari! It was so tasty and perfectly cooked. Even though the calamari isn’t part of the happy hour menu, you have to try it — it’s just as impressive as the view!

Deck at the Queen Kapiolani Hotel is a mandatory stop for an exceptional dining and cocktail experience in Waikiki. The Calamari Fritti is an absolute standout appetizer; it's perfectly crispy and elevated by the unique, flavorful signature yuzu kosho aioli. The beef sliders were satisfying as a main. The drinks are equally impressive: the Mai Tai cocktail is strong and expertly made with three rums, and the Deck House Blonde ale is perfectly crisp and refreshing. With a fantastic atmosphere and superb service, Deck provides a truly high-quality experience. Highly recommended!

The atmosphere was beautiful overlooking Diamond Head and a very narrow view of the beach sunset that everyone squeezed in to share. We were a party of three. It took about an hour to get the food which I was ok but they got the food wrong and thus had to wait another hour. So it took almost 2 hours. I didn't want to eat it any longer. There was no comp, no comp dessert, or any discount to the bill just constant apologies for staffing and large parties. We didn't even get a visit from the front of the house manager. Unfortunately, the food and wait did not meet the expensive bill price. I highly recommend another restaurant which Waikiki has a plethora of. Also, they need to remove the purple potatoes from the menu. If you don't know how to present or season it, it shouldn't be on the menu. It was a huge miss and disappointment and I love Japanese purple sweet potato. A positive is that they offer vegetarian and GF options (just bring your own Adobo or Lawry's seasoning in your bag.)

Saw this place on YouTube and glad I went. Great view of Diamond Head. Spacious and comfortable. Service was great and the food was decent. Had the braised beef Loco Moco. I’m not a huge Loco Moco fan but when in Hawaii…. It was good. Here during New Years when every place has long lines and massive wait times, it was nice to find the Deck for some space, beautiful outdoor seating and good atmosphere. Will return and probably get the Deck burger that someone else had and looked good.

Scott V.

Google
I had a wonderful experience dining at the DECK. The outdoor seating offers a beautiful view that really elevates the atmosphere. My salmon dinner was cooked perfectly—full of flavor and beautifully presented. On top of that, we went with a group of 7 , the service was warm, attentive, and made the evening even more enjoyable. A great spot for a relaxing meal with a great view.

Google
Views from the deck 10/10. Food was mediocre at best. The best part of this restaurant was the amazing views. Would recommend getting a drink here and enjoy the views.

Google
Went here for Happy Hour drinks. The cocktails were so well made. Had a delicious Lilikoi (passion fruit) Margarita and my guests loved their Mai Tais. The decor is a bit dated but the bar and restaurant are large and open plan with a spectacular view of Diamond Head. Service was friendly and prompt.

Megan I.

Yelp
I could not recommend Deck enough. My friend and I were lucky to have Lopaka as our server. He was friendly and made our experience at Deck SO amazing. Since then, this is our go-to spot to bring our friends, family, and visitors in town. We are always excited to see Lopaka and if he is not there, everyone else working at Deck is so kind and sweet. The food is great, drinks are better, view is phenomenal, and they have a great happy hour! Highly recommend the hamachi roll and truffle fries. For reference, this is the first review I have ever left. Thank you to Lopaka and the entire Deck crew!

Yelp
The service here was fantastic . We made reservations and seated quickly. They had good happy hour deals. The happy hour drinks were delicious . We ordered a few appetizers - the truffle fries were crispy and a splendid starter. Brussels sprouts were great as were the sliders and fish tacos. The view for sunset was stunning - great experience overall.

Yelp
Deck by Diamond Head We went to a TERRIBLE restaurant named DECK BY DIAMOND HEAD in HONOLULU located at QUEEN KAPI'OLANI HOTEL at 150 Kapahulu Avenue on January 23, 2026.... So a Sunday evening around 730 pm on the 3rd floor of a hotel...... IT WAS NOT BUSY EITHER!!!!!! We get there to the restaurant and I have someone with a pretty bad disability........ we get up to the 3rd floor by elevator to the restaurant level when we get off the elevator, we discover that we now have to go down 6 stairs to now get into the restaurant.... I see this AWFUL HOSTESS named Madeleine..... we make eye contact and she just ignored me as I motioned to her that I need help with the escalating my disabled family meme bet and instead she helps a family of 4 people that came after us rather than help my disabled family member to use this escalator device that is suppose to help disabled people get into the restaurant.....so after waiting for a while, my family member decided to chance it and go down the stairs with a cane holding onto the rail while someone else brings down the walker...... this hostess refused to assist and just ignored the entire situation despite being just a few feet away............BUT THE STORY DOESN'T END THERE......... this horrible hostess sits us right in front of the dirty kitchen entrance ...... when I noticed that there were SEVERAL better tables off the DECK of the restaurant towards the front ...... 6 empty tables to be exact..... that's because I counted them......... I went up to this HORRIBLE HOSTESS named Maddy...... and asked if we could sit at a better table towards the front....... SHE SAID "NO AND THAT THEY WERE RESERVED TABLES"..........I began to question her...... I told her we called beforehand and it said "NO RESERVATIONS REQUIRED" ....... So when I brought that up to Maddy...... she said to me "WE TAKE RESERVATIONS ALL DAY......those tables are spoken for...... if you don't like it ........ you can leave" Well, I wasn't going to move my disabled family member again otherwise I would have just left but because it was such a huge ordeal for my family member to just to get into the restaurant as it was...... we decided to just suck it up and tried to look past it........ but we continued to watch........ well no one came into the restaurant to those empty "Reserved" tables...... MADDY HAD LIED and she even left at 821 pm ......we saw her gather her belongings and left....... Went we left at 845 pm there were more than 12 tables open.........PEOPLE NEVER SHOWED UP FIR THESE SO CALLED RESERVED TABLES!!!! Wee ordered our food...... just to get in and out..... our waiter "Lapocka "- Hawaiian for "Robert" though was nice ........ ALSO HE WAS ALSO A LIAR........ we wanted to speak to a manager about the hostess' poor treatment of MY disabled family member and for telling me "IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT.......YOU CAN GO ELSEWHERE!!!!!!" Well that did not sit well with me......you don't treat disabled people like that......... so after our meal..... we asked to speak to a manager about this...........BUT FOLKS .......IT GETS BETTER HERE.......... We asked to speak to manager TWICE and finally he came.......... This tall man named "Nicholas" comes over and he hears our complaints........and Robert our waiter was aware of this too..... BUT I NOTICED SOMETHING VERY STRANGE.......NICHOLAS "THE MANAGER" was clearing tables and emptying out bins..... well that didn't seem right....... So I went to another person in the restaurant to get the name of the manager on duty......... and you know what....... IT WAS A MAN NAMED "IAN"......... IAN did not want to come talk to us.........LMAO....... The manager DID NOT want to come and talk to us so he sent some random busboy/ kitchen hand to come and talk to us rather than hear this what happened firsthand......"WHAT A JOKE!!!!!".......SO NOT ONLY IS THE HOSTESS A SCUMBAG...... BUT THE WAITER LIED TO US, THE BUSBOY NICHOLAS AND MANAGER IAN all LIED as well!!!!!!!! ....... AS IT TIRNS OUT......... THEY ARE ALL SCUMBAGS........I told the waiter that I would writing a bad review about this....... And I also told the two Hotels that we were both staying at as well about our bad treatment of disabled people to the Hilton and Marriott hotels and that they should NOT BE referring any other guests there again to this restaurant anymore!!!!!!! I'm still VERY DISGUSTED by this....... I'm a registered nurse, my spouse is a doctor and my brother-in-law is a retired lawyer that suffered a bad stroke and is now disabled ........ and these disgusting humans just mistreated us all....... FOR NO GOOD REASON WHATSOEVER!!!!!! DO NOT GO TO DECK!!!!!! AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL

Yelp
We came here for brunch with a large group and was excited to see they had Tokyo styled pancakes (assuming they're like the ones I've had in Japan). They came out and did not look like the pancakes I've had before and did not love my meal. It was okay, and after a while tasted more like eggs. My boyfriend got the French toast burger and it was pretty good! I would be willing to come back again to try something new but would steer clear of the pancakes.

Yelp
Good food, good vibes, and good service Love the view while eating and I love their drinks!

Yelp
Coming up here just to look at the view of Diamond Head makes this spot all worth it. Highly recommend making reservations for a brunch, but if anything the staff and aesthetically prepared and delicious food from quality ingredients are just YES. Such a great spot to celebrate any occasion, after a race, or graduation, or just simply being.

Yelp
The Deck is a great find on the south side of Waikiki. No ocean view here, but Diamond Head shows up in full glory and honestly steals the show. It feels calm, tucked away, and just far enough from the chaos to breathe. This is also the first breakfast spot where I've found a true Japanese fluffy pancake. The real deal. You do have to wait for it since these things take time to cook, and having made them myself, I respect the process. It's not fast food, it's pancake craftsmanship. My food was excellent, and judging by the plates around me, my neighbors were winning too. I'd absolutely make the trek back to this side of town for breakfast again. Worth it for the view, the vibe, and that cloud-like pancake alone.

Yelp
This hotel restaurant has always had a great view of diamond head. This is the first time I've been back since their renovation. The service was super friendly and helpful. The only negative is we never had our water glasses refilled. The food came out fast and was cooked good. My burger patty was overcooked. But that happens. The French toast burger is huge. It's savory and sweet. It's definitely a big burger. I'd would come back and recommend others to check out their brunch menu.

Yelp
Had a reservation, but still had to wait about 20 minutes before they sat us and then it was with the stipulation that we only had 90 minutes to do whatever we had to do. This was a pretty negative way to start off. Luckily our waitress, Makayla, was really great and she helped to make things better. It was Thanksgiving Day and they offered a turkey dinner for $41, but my friend and I split a Waipoli Caesar Salad from the Happy Hour (3 to 6 pm) Menu and the half chicken with vegetables from the regular menu. It's nice that the HH Menu is good everyday, even on this holiday, because it saved us a few dollars. We also split the chicken ($32). The food was very tasty, although the salad was a bit heavy on the dressing. Our waitress misunderstood our order and had the kitchen put chicken on our salad, but she quickly took the cost of the chicken off our bill when our order was corrected; we ended up keeping the chicken on the salad and it was juicy, tender, and delicious. The little parmesan crisps that came with the salad were great, too. The half chicken was a bit on the small side. We both looked at it and thought it looked more like a large Cornish game hen instead of a chicken, but it was enough. The veggies that came with it (4 stalks of asparagus, and 4 sticks of carrot over a bed of julienned carrots and red cabbage) were very good and not overcooked, in fact, on the more crunchy side. Between the salad and chicken, we were both satisfied and just full enough. Happy with our dinner and our waitress, so would be happy to return again!

Yelp
Deck. Waikiki delivers a solid dining experience with a view that's hard to beat--our table had a beautiful, unobstructed look at Diamond Head that instantly set the mood. The hostess was genuinely friendly and even let us choose where we wanted to sit, which was a nice, personal touch. Food-wise, everything hit the mark: the French toast burger was indulgent in the best way, balancing sweet and savory perfectly, while the fresh catch of the day--marlin--was well-prepared, fresh, and flavorful. Add in the relaxed island atmosphere and attentive service, and Deck. is an easy pick for a scenic, satisfying meal in Waikiki.

Yelp
This place was such a let down. We didn't want it to be. We were so excited to come and enjoy the view of Diamond Head. Our service was sub par. Especially for a bill of $518 dollars and a party or 7. This included tip. We knew coming here we would be ordering drinks and our tab would be this expensive. We live here locally btw and had family in town and they asked to come. Our waitress was honestly just not there, barely spoke, checked on us and we couldn't get a table bussed or cleared for over 20 minutes and get refills. Food came out super fast. Which was wonderful. The food wasn't that spectacular. It was good. But not crazy good. Presentation was beautiful, the sushi was good. The curry was decent. I think the food could have been better if the service was better. Our server wasn't happy to be there or just wanted to sit by the bar and talk the entire evening to other servers. The mai tai was bitter. The margarita tasted watery. Their Pina colada was incredible and it was one of the best Pina Coladas we have had in a longtime. It was perfectly balanced and not too sweet. PERFECTION!! Now there was a wonderful man who asked if we wanted to take a group photo with the view of Diamond Head. He was kind and wonderful and took several photos. So grateful for him and his hospitality. We would come back for a few bar snacks , happy hour and the Pin coladas and spectacular view. Hoping the service will be better. Maybe it was a one off.

Yelp
If you want a girls brunch day, this is a great spot. Park at the zoo and walk across the street. Thee view here is nice, offers outdoor and indoor seatings. I had the French toast and it was so good. Worth the calories! It wasn't too sweet. Serving size is the right amount. Waikīkī is a stay away zone for locals but since they are located at the end of Waikiki, it's easier to navigate to. Service was nice and no constant check in which I appreciate!! I don't like being checked on all the time. They had good timing on when to check in and not feel bothersome. Chill vibes.
google avatar

Catherine H.

Yelp
Wanted to come here during sunset, but missed the chance and went for a later dinner. I would come back to try the brunch menu and actually see the view, but service was very slow during dinner.
google avatar

Stedmond P.

Yelp
Brunch on the deck with the views were top tier. The braised beef loco moco was savory and delicious; however, my friend didn't enjoy his Tokyo Style pancakes. It started raining while waiting for our food but we were quickly reseated at the bar. I appreciated the quick reflexes of the team.
google avatar

Megan R.

Yelp
Make sure to make a reservation! The first night we tried to walk in and they were not accepting anyone without a reservation- mostly due to the rain limiting table availability. We made a reservation for the following night. The food was great and the ambiance is cool. We sat inside and it was dark so can't speak to the views. I ordered the scallops. They were cooked to perfection and delicious. I didn't really like the sweet mash it was served with but overall the dish was good. I also ordered the blueberry lemonade and it was superb.
google avatar

Mauriel D.

Yelp
Such a cute place with good vibes nice roof top deck just like it sounds there is a pool and our waiter Remy is so friendly and has good energy we came at happy hour and got hamachi roll and kimchi friend rice , food is good the drinks is good don't wait and come now
google avatar

Alex A.

Yelp
First of all, you get a nice view of Diamond Head which is absolutely amazing. The vibe is super chill and perfect for grabbing a bite or a drink while soaking in the scenery. This alone made the Kona Coffee and pancakes taste much better. Ha! I had their Tokyo style pancakes, and they were great. You can tell they care more about flavor than presentation, and I'm all for it. They do take a few minutes longer to cook than the rest of the menu, but that's not a big deal considering the view. The place is very chill and the staff is outstanding.
google avatar

Nami P.

Yelp
We came here hoping to try their famous Tokyo pancakes, but they sold out before brunch ended definitely a reason to come earlier next time! Here's what we ordered instead: * Pork Ribs - fall-off-the-bone tender with a smoky glaze that paired perfectly with the crisp edges. The portion was generous and full of flavor. * Truffle Fries - 10/10! Crispy on the outside, soft inside, with just the right amount of truffle aroma and parmesan. Addictively good. * Deck Burger - my son loved it. Juicy patty, melted cheese and fluffy bun simple but done right. Served with crispy fries on the side. * House Iced Latte with Oat Milk : smooth, creamy, and balanced The ambience was calm and relaxed a lovely mix of ocean breeze, open-air seating, and chill background music. Our server was warm, attentive, and made us feel welcome from start to finish. And of course, the view absolutely breathtaking. Overlooking Diamond Head and the sparkling ocean, it's easily one of the most beautiful brunch spots in Honolulu. 100/10 for the vibes.
google avatar

Stephanie Y.

Yelp
Those views. Swoon. Worth the overpriced fare for the beautiful views. I went for brunch and while I found the menu limited in the savory department, the Benedict was solid. They did have a plethora of pancakes. The English muffin on the Benedict could have been crispier, but I very much appreciated that they swapped out the potatoes for fruit. My colleague's moco loco was delish. They have a long happy hour, but ultimately I found their Mai-Tai's meh and extremely sweet. Overall, the views warrant a visit. Brunch was a solid one!
google avatar

Rachel K.

Yelp
I had breakfast here with a colleague on the last morning of our business trip and it was a great way to start the morning. We stopped in around 9am and were able to get a seat right away. The views from the restaurant are wonderful and they have seating in and out of the sun. We ordered the Eggs Benedict ($22) and Paniolo Loco Moco ($23) along with regular coffee ($6.50 with refills) and an iced latte ($7). This happened to be the restaurant at our hotel, and it wasn't too crowded when we were there. Our server was friendly and was able to bring our coffees and food out quickly and made sure we had water as well. The food matched our expectations and the portions matched the pricing (for Hawaii). I had the Loco Moco and it was filling and the gravy was very flavorful. My iced latte was also a perfect pick me up for the morning. I left feeling full and ready for the day.

Yelp
Had breakfast on our last day in Waikiki View, service, food and vibe were perfect. Very nice ending to a nice stay at the Queen
google avatar

Katie E.

Yelp
We stayed at the Queen Kapiolani hotel for 5 days/nights and visited here everyday for drinks and apps. The bartenders were very friendly and made excellent cocktails. The view of Diamond Head is great and you can see the ocean when looking over the balcony down the street.
google avatar

RJ S.

Yelp
Great drinks, great view, great people! I come to the deck whenever I'm in Waikiki and always leave satisfied. While many people gravitate to bars on the main drag, I consider The Deck to be one of the areas better kept secrets. Their house mai tai uses a classic recipe which is a refreshing shift from the fruity Hawaiian mai tai cocktail that most local bars serve. But don't take my word for it. Stop in for dinner or a drink and experience it for yourself.

Yelp
My kind of place!!! Perfect view, service, drinks, ambiance and food (we only had snacks but they were amazing). We were out and looking for a nice place to land for a few bites and HH drinks since we had a late night dinner resy elsewhere. The Liliko'i Margarita gets chef's kiss I was hesitant about the pre batched margarita, however, it's AMAZING. But of course it's because all of the ingredients are made in house. The drink is FRESH. My friend had a fresh juice and we shared hamachi carpaccio and a salad and everything tasted like they'd just caught the fishy and picked the veggies from their garden. The ambiance was PEACEFUL as well. Abbey was our host and was lovely!! Definitely coming back to Deck on my next Waikiki trip!!
google avatar

Nerissa L.

Yelp
Amazing restaurant located inside the Queen Kapiolani hotel. Deck is on the 3rd floor of the hotel near the pool! I dined at Deck a few times on my recent trip to Hawaii! Every time was amazing and the service was top notch!! I want to shout out one of the amazing waitresses there named Macy, she was super nice and attentive! Deck has a great happy hour, brunch and dinner! This is one place I am really looking forward to dining in again! The views from this restaurant are stunning!!!! You have a perfect view of Diamond Head. It's simply amazing!! Check it out, I'm sure you will love it just as much as I did!

Yelp
I was very excited to enjoy lunch with my best friend, who had just flown home for the holidays, at Deck. Even though I had seen mixed reviews about the restaurant, we decided to give it a try anyway. Our waitress was very kind, the food came out quickly, and it actually tasted pretty good. However, the person who seated us who I'm assuming was the host was pretty rude. We weren't greeted at all and had to ask for a table for two. Instead of being politely informed that the table was needed for a later reservation, she said, "I can seat you now, but I need the table back by 5." We didn't feel welcomed at all and were forced to share a single menu even though it wasn't busy. The cherry on top was that we were seated at a table that had not been wiped yet! While we didn't feel rushed at any point, the rest of the experience we were upset because of that first interaction. I understand it is the holidays and some people can be pretty sour, but it should feel welcoming and that your staff is excited to serve customers.

Yelp
Went for happy hour. $29 for short rib entrée with potato and vegetable. Happy hour Mai Thai on Monday is eight otherwise 10 during happy hour rest of the week. I made a mistake of ordering sushi rolls 45 minutes later still no food waitress said she would comp if they couldn't get it out soon Turns out the sushi rolls are made by machine so I don't understand why a machine could not make the rules fast faster than 45 minutes??? yes they need to take that off the menu if they can provide it in a reasonable time period
google avatar

Diana K.

Yelp
Wow... where do I even start? I came for dinner at sunset and the view of Diamond Head glowing orange and pink was absolutely breathtaking. The vibe inside is cozy and stylish, perfect for date night or drinks with friends! I got the Spice Girl cocktail (balanced, not too sweet, with a spicy kick!) and a double of Ilegal Mezcal that was smoky, smooth, and perfect. For food, I had the house wedge salad with lilikoi vinaigrette (had to swap dressings bc of my allergies) and Kauai garlic prawns which was fresh, crisp, flavorful, and honestly one of the best salads I've had on Oahu! My friend ordered the fish tacos (mahi mahi katsu with lilikoi slaw and Hawaiian chili aioli) plus the truffle fries and house blonde ale. He devoured everything. And according to him, those fries are the BEST on island. Shoutout to Abby, our server, who made the entire night so special! She was warm, knowledgeable, super mindful of my food allergies, and genuinely one of the best servers I've had in Honolulu. If you come here, ask for Abby! She'll make your experience 10/10.

Yelp
I came to Deck in Waikiki for a baby shower this morning and it was a beautiful spot! Great for a baby shower! The view of Diamond Head is stunning, and even though we were seated outside, the shade canopy made it comfortable, and it wasn't too hot. I ordered an iced coffee, which was unfortunately a bit watery, but the haupia French toast was SO good. It had a crispy toasted coconut coating that gave it the perfect crunch, and I added a side of bacon which paired nicely. I do wish the dish came with something savory like potatoes or crispy hash browns to balance out all the sweetness.... it would've made it perfect. I'd highly recommend getting this dish, it's super unique. Service was great, our server checked in often and was really attentive. One downside is the aggressive pigeons that hover around your table and by your feet to try to get food, which is gross. The biggest negative to coming here is the parking situation. They "validate" parking but it still costs you $10.99 for up to 3 hrs. That's crazy when you spend $100 eating here. Parking should be free while you dine. I definitely think this is a big draw back for locals coming here. Overall, Deck is a lovely brunch spot with amazing views and tasty food. Great spot to get good pics with your friends!

Yelp
November 4, 2025 Deck Waikiki Happy Hour = Total Vibes Had an awesome time at Deck Waikiki during happy hour. The view of Diamond Head at sunset? Unreal. It's the kind of spot where you just want to kick back and soak it all in . I grabbed a not your average mai tai --super refreshing and just the right amount of tart. We ordered the Hamachi carpaccio, Spicy salmon roll and Beef sliders. This was the right amount of food shared between 2 people. The staff was chill and friendly, and the whole vibe was relaxed but lively. Great place to hang with friends, sip something tasty, and enjoy the island breeze. Definitely coming back next time I'm in Waikiki.

Yelp
Really, really cool view from this spot. Most bars in Waikiki go for the ocean view, but this spot nailed the Diamond Head view. Unique and pretty cool. They have a couple drinks on tap which were tasty and unique, but you pay the price for the view. Tons of seating, but really only one area that you really get to enjoy the view from. Service is okay. We went when it wasn't super busy and we got served at the bar when we asked for it, but it definitely wasn't above and beyond. A definitely must do for at least one drink.
google avatar

Yelp
We arrived an hour before closing but they had run out of sushi and some desserts which was disappointing. Service was ok just not super friendly, or very knowledgeable when asked about certain dishes. Our drinks took a while to come out, mind you two were fountain drinks and the other a simple captain and coke. Food was a bit better in speed and while they were actively cleaning and prepping for closure our food came out well cooked and portions were rather large. Two members of our party had salmon which they liked, and I had the fish tacos which were huge and fresh. I opted to add an additional which was a huge fail on my party as two were plenty. Decent meal overall but one of our least favorite dining experiences since being in Waikiki for the week.

Yelp
Had a birthday dinner party here, it was easy to get a reservation for 14 and they were very accommodating! Service was great! We ordered a bunch of food items. The truffle fries were a big hit! Truffle fries, Margherita pizza, chicken wings, chicken entree, fish tacos! Everything tasted good. Drinks were tasty!! I brought a birthday cake and they were able to store it in the fridge and they brought out knives and plates for serving! Great time here, want to come back when it is still bright out!

Yelp
We went to Deck. during their happy hour. We didn't order drinks, but got calamari which was heavily seasoned and served with an aioli. The squid pieces were a bit small and it was a tad salty. The truffle fries on the other hand were lacking distinct flavor. I ordered the island spice rubbed chicken which was very juicy and flavorful. The short rib my friend ordered also looked good and well prepared. Their margarita pizza includes cherry tomatoes and is super cheesy. The service was lacking a little and it seemed that other servers were unwilling to help our table, and would always default to trying to find our waitress. So we had to wait longer for water refills, getting the check, etc. Overall, would skip out on the appetizers and order only main entrees. The proximity to Waikiki beach and patio area are strong positives for Deck.

Yelp
First time visiting this restaurant...didn't even know it was here. Happy hour (3-6) offers good pricing. Chicken wings were really good and highly recommend the hamachi roll!!! Abby was our server. She was great...attentive and good conversations with her!!! Ask for her when you visit! Lastly, great unobstructed view of Diamond Head!!!

Yelp
Lopaca was amazing! Super friendly and accommodated our allergies so kindly. Love this place. Ambiance was great. Server was even better. Food was yummy.

Yelp
Deck is conveniently located inside of the Queen Kapiʻolani Hotel Waikīkī. Located on the 3rd floor, right next to the pool with Diamond Head as the backdrop. Beautiful view! We tried the happy hour menu and started off with a couple of Mai Tais. We also sampled the Beef Sliders, Calamari Fritti and Truffle Fries. All were very tasty and we received fast and friendly service. We came back to give their breakfast a try. We tried the Deep Dish Haupia French Toast and the Braised Beef Loco Moco. The food tasted great but came out luke warm. I'm not sure if they had new servers during the morning but the service was slow and I had to ask for refills on water repeatedly. I'm normally pretty patient but restaurant was fairly empty for that kind of service. On that second day, they fell a little short for me.

Yelp
This is a solid open air bar and restaurant at the Queen Kapiolani hotel on the 3rd floor. We had drinks the night before but hit this place for happy hour food and drinks. Mai tai drinks were ordered and we stuck with an array of appetizers. Truffle fries, calamari, giant wings, and a Caesar salad. The truffle fries were nice and thin. The calamari was good. The Caesar salad was very nice. With some large cheese chips in the salad. The wings were amazing! Big. Juicy, and still a bit crispy! We ended up getting a second order! This is not just a throw away hotel restaurant!

Yelp
What We Ordered: Mai tai Highlights: * Service: attentive, slower to seat us initially even though the restaurant wasn't full * Food/Drinks: very good Mai tai, not my favorite but unique almost cherry flavor to it, lighter in color than other Mai tais in Honolulu * Ambiance: cozy, huge seating area covered and uncovered, come here for the view of diamond head (will not be disappointed), relaxing * Price: reasonable

Yelp
We were assisted immediately by a friendly hostess who checked on our reservation and let us know we would have our table in a few minutes. That gave me a chance to hurry out to the pool deck next to the restaurant and take a few shots of the beautiful sunset. Once we were seated, Melissa greeted us and took our beverage orders. She also made recommendations on the menu which was helpful because we had never been here before. Being a Sunday night, things were perhaps a little slow, but the drinks seem to take a while before they arrived at our table. Once again, however, Melissa continued to be very cheerful and on top of any needs that we had. She took our orders and we shipped our beverages while we waited. I ordered the barbecue beef ribs with the pineapple barbecue sauce. A unique and flavorful experience. The rib meat fell off the bone and were very tasty. The presentation was great so I didn't have to cut the ribs apart. My wife ordered the beef short ribs with the mashed potatoes. She enjoyed every bite on her plate. It made her day! The only negative note here would be the side of sweet potatoes. First of all, it was enormous, definitely not the size of a traditional side of anything. Secondly, the sweet potatoes really didn't have much flavor. I was expecting something a little more exotic and exciting, and they just fell flat. Fortunately, the manager was understanding and took those off our bill. All in all, you will enjoy the incredible views of the beach out front and Diamond head across the street racing magnificently in the picture window. If you are fortunate enough to get Melissa as your server, you are in for a tremendous treat. She is caring, considerate, and genuinely friendly.

Yelp
The location is easy if you're driving since you can easily park at the zoo ($3:2 hours) host & hostess seated us promptly and greeted us. Waited a long time for our server to take our order and didn't check on us but generally decent service. The hamburger was unseasoned.

Yelp
** 1/5 - Terrible Food Quality - Don't Waste Your Money** I'm genuinely shocked at how poor the food quality was at The Deck in Waikiki. Despite the beautiful location and the promise of American Pacific-inspired cuisine, our dining experience was an absolute disaster. We visited with a group and ordered several entrees, and every single dish had major problems: The **filet mignon** - which should be the star of any menu - arrived at our table **completely cold**. Not lukewarm, but cold, as if it had been sitting on a counter for 20 minutes before being served. For a premium cut of beef at these prices, this is inexcusable. When you're paying top dollar for filet, the absolute bare minimum is that it should be served hot. The **chicken Caesar salad** was equally baffling - it came out essentially as a plate of dry lettuce and chicken with **no dressing whatsoever**. How do you forget the Caesar dressing on a Caesar salad? It's literally in the name! We had to flag down our server to get dressing, which turned what should have been a simple dish into an ordeal. The **Kauai garlic shrimp** was perhaps the worst offender - the garlic was **burnt to a crisp**, giving the entire dish a bitter, acrid taste that was completely inedible. This is basic cooking 101 - don't burn the garlic. We could barely get through a few bites before giving up. For a restaurant in prime Waikiki charging tourist prices, this level of kitchen incompetence is unacceptable. It's clear that either the kitchen staff doesn't care, or management isn't supervising food quality before it leaves the kitchen. Either way, there are dozens of better restaurants within walking distance that actually know how to properly prepare and serve food. **Save your money and go literally anywhere else.**

Yelp
Pros: views are so perfect, and our server was friendly. Cons: Unless if you like your beef patties super raw, I wouldn't recommend the loco moco. Had them remake it but it was still super raw. Even the server was shook and said "that does not look right at all". French toast and their lox bagel was probably the only good thing about our breakfast. Probably won't be back again unfortunately.

Yelp
We were able to get seated right away even though I made reservations it was nice the hostess gave us a view and was closer to the diamond head side. Really appreciated that. The ambience here is second to none. You get a beautiful view and it is limited seating here so feels not as crowded as in Waikiki. The food we ordered I closed eggs Benedict, Haupia french toast and paniolo loco moco with drinks - green matcha strawberry and not your oridinary mai tai. The loco moco wasn't the best and it needed seasoning. They were out of Tokyo pancakes so we got the French toast which needed syrup. Overall, definitely recommend but wasn't a 5. They didn't refill my water on a hot day, but that was OK. Giving it a 4. Jordan was great! He was wonderful and even if busy was able to handle all the requests. Felt the aloha!

Yelp
Best French toast I've ever had. The loco moco was excellent too, but could use a little more gravy lol. Service was pretty good and I look forward to returning very soon. Love the views of Diamondhead and the ocean and we're allowed to bring our dogs which is nice.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, service and the Tokyo pancakes did not disappoint. Highly recommend for a relaxing breakfast with stunning views of Diamondhead.

Yelp
View of diamond head was really nice. Waitress was sweet. Food was 8/10. Young lady at the front who sat us at our table, was not the most welcoming.

Yelp
4.5 stars! Awesome place off the main drag of Waikiki. Amazing views of diamond head and fun drinks to choose from either with our without alcohol. We came around 6pm and it was perfect for the sunset. My dad and I had the plantation punch mocktail and it was one of the best mocktails i have ever had. The menu is small if you cant eat seafood but get the short ribs with truffle mashed potatoes. My plate and others were cleared. This place gets packed during the week. Our server Melissa was veery sweet as well and couldn't do enough for you. My only qualm is they do run our of some stuff such as the coffee and dessert but this goes to show how popular it is.

Yelp
3.5 stars for food, rounding up to 4.011 includes service & ambiançe. We chose a stormy New Year's Eve to visit Deck. The location and ambience are very nice, and the staff are friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic. The food was good, merely good and moderately uninspired. All this place needs to shine is to tweak their menu to be a little more refined, instead of feeling slightly rushed. Take the time to get a good Maillard reaction on the meat. Add a bit of punch to your sauces, and don't forget the seasoning. It wasn't by any measure a bad meal, but with all the competition nearby that are being careful with their preparations this meal felt sloppy. At the street level there is also a Deck coffee shop, which has wildly enthusiastic staff, tasty satisfying pastries and sandwiches, and pretty good drip and espresso coffees.
