DECK. at Queen Kapiʻolani Hotel

Food was absolutely fantastic. However lack of staff almost ruins the dining experience. We were lucky to have an early reservation where food came out pretty quick, but people around us were waiting extremely long just to get their drink orders in. Just get staffed up and this place would be running like a well oiled machine.

We had an great experience at Deck before our hike to Diamond Head! The restaurant offers stunning views of the crater, which made for the perfect start to our day. Unfortunately, it was a windy day, so we couldn’t sit outside, but the indoor seating still had a great atmosphere and amazing views. The vibe was relaxed and welcoming, and the food was absolutely delicious. A big shoutout to the friendly front desk staff who help us arrange a cab to our destination.

Recreating your Moms “Irish Nachos” at the hotel restaurant is a testament to their commitment to excellence. Informing our waiter that the fries would be awesome with some bacon, cheddar cheese and sour cream was a brilliant move. Although they did not have sour cream and the only cheese was parmesan, their effort was genuinely appreciated. Jordan, our waiter was outstanding. Dan’s chicken sandwich exceeded expectations. The waiter (ADRIAN) was so kind, the clientele was great, the atmosphere nice, the view to Diamond Head was stunning!!! Did I mention already that the food was delicious?😊 and I’m picky. Also the waiter ADRIAN is perfectly informed about whether there’s gluten in the dishes or not. 🫶🏼🫶🏼🤙🏼

The host in the front who was a white girl with curly dark hair in pony tails that worked during the morning shift was INSUFFERABLE. She seemed really irritated with us from the moment we walked in and any interaction we had after that. No greetings when coming in or when we left. When we kindly asked her if we can sit at certain empty tables for the views, she rolled her eyes and acted annoyed. We were treated like beggars by her even though we spoke nicely to her and were paying customers. There have been previous reviews pointing out her terrible attitude but I guess management doesn't care. Food wasn't good either and it's pricey. You're paying for the view, that's it. Oh, and the utensils were still DIRTY when we first unrolled them from the napkins. Overall one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had!

I ended up getting the fish tacos which were great. Honestly, they're coming here for the Mai Tais and the drinks. Our waiter Lopaca was straight up the best waiter (please promote him). We had a great time here. Nice views too. FINAL SCORE 5/5

Food was okay. Atmosphere was nice. It was outdoorsy and people were conversating but it wasn't overwhelmingly loud. Really this place deserves 5 stars for my man Jordan. Probably the best waiter I've ever had. Calm, collected, yet he was waiting like 7 other tables. That guy was awesome!

We went here for dinner and got two entrées to try. Both were delicious and the portions were pretty decent for the price. However, the service is slow. The view from the restaurant at sunset is beautiful. They offer daily drink specials with different drinks featured each day. The menu changes depending on the time of day and they also have happy hour deals on both drinks and food every day. I recommend this place if you enjoy dining and relaxing.
