LA’s New Restaurant Openings - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Deda is a family-owned Georgian restaurant in Pasadena, but its big leather booths and a patio with rainbow string lights make it look more like a stylish wine bar than a casual neighborhood spot. The menu has a lot going on, with khachapuri, khinkali, grilled meats, plus desserts like pavlova and napoleon. Also, the cocktail list does fun things with Georgian spirits, with drinks like Old Tbilisi made with oak-aged brandy and walnut syrup." - cathy park

Beautiful restaurant. I loved the decor, and the atmosphere, the what I assume is Georgian music, beautiful setting. The good was delicious too, we ordered appetizers and mains and the people were such that we could not finish and had to take food home with us. The smoked salmon ajarski was great. They only offer it for brunch, but what a great idea! It tasted delicious. And the service was impeccable. The good did not come all at the same time. The server warned us in advance that plates would be coming as they come out from the kitchen, so don't from our party started eating while others were still waiting for their food. I feel this would have been awkward and a big negative had the easier not told us in advance. Overall, Deda is on the pricey side, but I still think well worth a visit.

You Knead to Eat Here! A Georgian Food Love Story in Pasadena! If you haven’t been to Deda Restaurant, stop what you’re doing and go immediately (okay, maybe finish reading this first). This cozy little spot is serving up authentic Georgian cuisine that’ll make you question every other comfort food in your life. It was our first Georgian meal ever, and now we’re emotionally attached to khachapuri. Everything was ridiculously good, like, “how is this not illegal” good. The vibe? Warm, welcoming, and just the right amount of buzz. There’s a sunny patio, a chill bar area, and even a private dining room if you want to impress your friends with your sophisticated world-food knowledge. Bonus points: two hours of free parking in the back (a rare and precious gift from the Pasadena gods). The staff was so friendly and genuinely excited to share the menu, you can tell they love what they do. In short: come hungry, leave obsessed. Deda is a 10/10 culinary plot twist you didn’t see coming.

DEDA in Pasadena is a true hidden gem! Authentic Georgian dishes and amazing dairy-free and vegan options. I was so impressed by how thoughtful they were with dietary needs , they offered wonderful dairy-free and vegan choices for my child with a dairy allergy and everything tasted incredible. The dessert Zgapari Blini Torte, was absolutely unforgettable. A place full of heart, flavor and true hospitality highly recommend! 🇬🇪✨

Absolutely loved this place! The interior is stunning - warm, stylish, and truly inviting. The food was incredibly delicious; every single dish we ordered was full of flavor and perfectly prepared. The service was also excellent attentive, friendly, and very professional. Highly recommend this Georgian restaurant in Los Angeles!

A Must-Dine Spot for Authentic Georgian Flavors in Pasadena!!! Deda Restaurant is such a gem in Pasadena! It was our first time trying authentic Georgian food and it was absolutely delicious from start to finish. The location is easy to get to, with two hours of free parking in the back, which makes visiting stress-free. We were greeted by a friendly host, attentive floor manager, and servers who were knowledgeable and happy to share recommendations. The space is cozy yet spacious, with a patio, central bar, booths, and even a private dining room. Highlights for us were the Pkhali Mezze (colorful spreads of roasted bell peppers, beets, and spinach), the Eggplant Pkhali Rolls, and of course, the Adjaruli Khachapuri—their famous cheese-filled bread boat that’s an absolute must-try. Our super favorite was the Khinkali beef dumplings—juicy, flavorful, and perfect in every bite. The trout and chicken kebab were also fantastic. We finished with a light mango dessert that was the perfect sweet ending. If you’re looking for bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and warm hospitality, Deda is a must-dine spot in Pasadena. We’ll definitely be back!

Google
I’ve been here four times already and have tried many dishes. Overall, I’m giving this place 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ From everything I’ve had, the only things I didn’t enjoy were the chicken soup and the Napoleon cake. The soup had a very unusual flavor and was way too salty for my taste, and the Napoleon felt too dry. We also tried the panna cotta, and it wasn’t as light and airy as we expected - desserts definitely need a bit more attention and improvement. However - the kharcho was absolutely amazing 🤤 and the khinkali were delicious! One small suggestion: it would be great if you could offer wet wipes for guests after eating khinkali. I also want to highlight the staff - they are incredibly attentive, friendly, and genuinely seem to love what they do. They constantly check in, keep the tables clean, and make sure you’re comfortable. A really pleasant team and great service!

Google
Loved this place ! The menu is different online than what we saw in person so I can’t reference the names of the dishes but we ordered: 1) a stuffed eggplant appetizer . I believe it was stuffed w a walnut puree. It was so good but so small (and therefore felt exp for the size) lol 2) these triangle pastries stuffed w beans. Also very good (not listed on online menus) 3) mountain trout - my dish which was mediocre. Nothing special. I’d skip this if you are able to eat other meats 4) lamb - my husband loved this. The spinach had a very refreshing almost-minty taste (but not mint. The waiter said it was tarragon) There was a photographer who went around taking photos of ppl while they waited for their food. I thought there was a chance that it might’ve been free but that was wishful thinking. She gives you some hats and a wig to put on for the photo(s). After she takes your photos, she prints them and presents them in frames. They cost 20$ per frame. We felt pressured to buy them so just because aware ! Just say no to the photos to begin with if you don’t want to feel pressured to buy them later.

Great Geogian food. Our waiter, Nova, was amazing. He was so kind and had great recommendations. His service was on point. He made our first experience here a 10/10. The Khatchpuri was top notch. Parking structure available so no need to stress about street parking. Deda has 2 hour parking validation.

Yelp
The Khinkali Kalakuri was amazing. Every food item I tried was unique. Atmosphere was exquisite. The servers were attentive. If you want a nice and fine dining experience, come here.

Brandon M.

Yelp
Me and my date came to this amazing establishment and was greeted very warmly as soon as we walked through the door, after we were seated, we were greeted by Nova. He treated us extremely well and felt at home as soon as we sat down. He immediately went above and beyond to treat us like family and am extremely grateful for this amazing time he showed us. He is definitely one of the main reasons I will be coming back here. Moving onto the food, the Khinkali was extremely delicious and the meat inside was cooked perfectly. The ambience was also inviting and the music was a perfect fit for the vibes. Thank you!!

Michael C.

Yelp
This was our first visit to Deda and we will be back. Warm eggplant salad was a standout, only outshone by our excellent service from Nova. Thank you, Nova, for the recommendations and just for being so amazing. You made our night!

Yelp
From the moment we walked in, I was genuinely impressed. The place has such a cool, trendy vibe -- the design and décor are absolutely on point. Service was top-notch too! Our server, Nova, was incredibly attentive and recommended a few menu selections that were finger-licking good. Delicious food, great atmosphere, amazing service... definitely going back for more!

Yelp
This has to be one of the best places I have been to!!! So a friend has been recommending this place to me for a while now and eventually I got to visit it. I wish I had sooner!! The service was amazing, the servers were very nice. I really loved the ambiance of the place, and the food, it was amazing!!! I was so happy with the place, can't wait to take my partner there this weekend!! Edit: So I decided to go in early than i had planned with my partner and to say I was disappointed is an understatement! The service was very slow, we were ignored for a whole 20 minutes after we arrived. When the waiter finally got a chance to take our order, it also took a long time before we could get out food!! Finally we are after the long and frustrating service we are going to get some nice meal, right? Wrong!!! Everything was awful! The food was so soggy and didn't seem it was fresh! It was so bad that we actually didn't finish our food. We were so disappointed, and our evening was ruined. I would not recommend. I believe I got lucky the first time.

Yelp
Good Food, But the Service Needs Serious Improvement We came to Deda for my father-in-law's birthday as a party of seven. We arrived at 7:30 PM, excited to celebrate, and while the food itself was great, the service throughout the night was unfortunately chaotic and disappointing. Several items from our order were missing. When we mentioned this to our waitress, she went to check and returned to tell us she had never put the order in and asked if we still wanted it. We said yes and were willing to wait.. We had placed two dessert orders, but only one arrived--along with a dessert we didn't order. We sent it back because it didn't feel right to keep something we didn't ask for/order. Our waitress later came back and told us it was their mistake and that we should keep it anyway, but by then we had already returned it with another server. After that, our table ordered drinks to enjoy with our dessert: * my father-in-law ordered a black tea * my brother-in-law and his wife ordered two cappuccinos * I ordered a black coffee Only four drink orders--simple enough. The cappuccinos arrived about five minutes later, but my father-in-law and I were still waiting for our drinks. I sat there with my ponchik in hand, not wanting to eat it without my coffee. I waited and waited, and when I finally got our waitress' attention and asked about the status of the drinks, she said, "Oh, you still want it?" I was shocked. Of course I still wanted it. She hadn't even put the order in. By the end of the night, I learned that my father-in-law never received his black tea at all. The timing of the food and drinks was completely disorganized. Dishes came out one at a time with long, awkward gaps. We'd focus on one plate sitting on the table while waiting far too long for the rest. Dessert orders were mixed up, drink orders were forgotten, and communication was minimal. I genuinely enjoyed the food, but the service needs major improvement--especially for large groups and special occasions. This could have been a lovely birthday dinner, but the nonstop errors and delays made the experience stressful instead of enjoyable.

Yelp
First off. I give 5 stars to Miguel who made the best Espresso Martini in LA. Literally tasted like a creamy milk shake. Plus his vodka sour drink he made for my friend with the flag on it. The best. The egg in a bread was really good and fun to eat. The dumplings were interesting but the stalks not being fully cooked was a bit odd but I understand why they did that. I gave it 3 stars as our server was not that good. My friend has severe nut and fish allergies which she disclosed but when she asked him what did not have a walnut base or fish he really could not tell her what to have. We had to ask him each dish to check until we asked about the lemon chicken. He was like oh yeah that is safe. In this day and age, you really need to be on top of what is in your food. Thankfully everything we got was safe but we had to figure it out.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant with a design and quality. They offer a wonderful selection of Georgian cuisine and wines. The food is delicious and prepared promptly. The servers are polite, experienced, and very friendly. The ambiance is fantastic--perfect for special occasions--and reservations are definitely recommended. While prices aren't cheap, the portions are generous and the meals are absolutely worth it. A great way to showcase the richness of Georgian culture in LA! P.S. The only thing I would suggest is removing the photographer who sells photos. It feels a bit touristy and doesn't quite match the level of class the restaurant is clearly aiming to achieve.

Yelp
I've never been to a Georgian restaurant before but i was pleasantly surprised. I definitely want to come back to try more foods. We tried a couple wines and cocktails. I really enjoyed the Chacha Sour with a cute Georgia flag on top. I really enjoyed both the veal stew and the cheese filled bread boat. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. He offered a couple choices on the menu that we loved.

Yelp
This spot is here to stay!! We came in on a weekday evening and this restaurant was packed from inside and spilling out into a fully packed patio. The hostess felt like she may be not from here and definitely felt somewhat rude and cold so my initial thoughts sitting down was not entirely pleasant, however our server was great. Food is a fun journey into Georgian food. I can't speak to the authenticity, but I did thoroughly enjoyed the dumplings, loved the khachapuri, and the overall new food experience! Parking is free/ validated in the adjacent covered parking lot.

Yelp
Deda was a unique and fun experience to dine at. I loved the ambiance, decor, and friendliness of the staff. We tried almost everything and anything! So many dishes really had great flavors and textures. The pork entree was a bit too salty for me but the potatoes were great. Great brunch options as well! The reservation process was easy, however, I was charged $10 a person (we were a party of 8) and that deposit was never returned or subtracted from our bill. When I asked the waiter, he said it usually takes a few days but nothing so far (I need to call, but wish I didn't have to). The Sunday brunch was not too busy, I don't think I'll reserve ahead of time again due to the deposit situation. It's not worth the hassle. Check out the pics and give this place a visit (just don't pay to reserve). ;)

Yelp
I love that more different cuisines are coming to the LA area, but I think that's as far as Deda can go. Service was non-existent - the server looked like he didn't want to be there, and wasn't really knowledgeable of the dishes. Then food wasn't amazing. The khinkalis were too thick on the flour so the balance wasn't right. The chicken was dry. The khachapuri was under seasoned and quite heavy. The trio mezze was lacking interesting flavors as well. On top of all that, it's a pricey menu. Maybe the restaurant needs to work out the kinks, but I wouldn't come back here. They need to really improve their flavor and texture profile because it is lacking.

Yelp
Excellent location and the people are friendly, but the food is hit or miss. - Mezze platter has 3 dips (2 were good, but the spinach one had no flavor). Also it comes with 5 tortilla chips per bowl which is not definitely enough... I'm assuming they do this so you order the bread on the side. - the khachapouri (spelling may need checking) was good, but we ordered a 2nd one that never came so we never got to try it. - the khunkali (again spell check ain't having it) was good too. The meat one was very flavorful, the cheese ones were too salty. Make sure to get them boiled. I will note these take a bananas amount of time to come out (like 25 minutes) so just prep for that. Also they are fairly big in size but at the price they have them at i would say it's a bit much. - the lamb plate was ok... not my favorite. - the salads were also ok. My friends liked the sour beet salad, but it wasn't for me. - I would recommend not ordering the corn bread... it's not what you think it is... and it's too hard/brittle. - the wine selection is decent, we tried one ok orange wine and one red that I didn't care for. I think maybe stick to the non Georgian wines? - last thing... and this one kinda bothered me, but they charge you for butter/sour cream for the khunkali. Like $4 for a tiny jar. So just be ware of ordering anything "extra". Anyway, the gist is... nice ambiance, friendly service, hit or miss food, a long wait for many of the dishes and a price tag that I think is a bit much for what you get. Did I hate it? Not at all... would i go back? Probably not. If you go... stick to the khachapouri and khunkali and give yourself plenty of time! Stay Cheerful

Yelp
I had this in my bookmarks for some time now, so glad that I finally stopped by during a walk only a few mins off the Lake Ave exit from the A Line. There is paid parking via a garage accessible on Lake. I guess the location doesn't do this place favors or justice given it is a bit hidden and far from usual foot traffic on the weekends. As far as food goes, we were here on a Saturday and they had their brunch menu, which was a smaller selection of items versus the full menu. Although leans more on the pricier end in my opinion, the portions were quite large and filling, so we didn't have room for dessert this time. Food was decent, nothing to complain about. The fried Khinkali was quite juicy with the broth from the wagyu inside. The service was great and appreciate that they brought a very authentic flavor and experience to this part of town since I think there aren't any Georgian restaurants around here.

Yelp
recently visited this Georgian restaurant, and it ended up being one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The staff greeted me right away, and everyone was extremely friendly and attentive throughout the meal. They explained the dishes, made great recommendations, and checked on us often without being annoying. The food was absolutely incredible. You can tell that everything is prepared with fresh ingredients and a lot of care. The khachapuri was rich, cheesy, and baked perfectly -- easily one of the best I've ever tried. The khinkali were full of flavor, juicy, and made exactly the right way. I also ordered the lamb, and it was so tender that it almost fell apart on its own. Every dish had authentic Georgian spices and tasted homemade in the best way. The portions were generous, and the prices were very fair considering the quality of the food. I also loved the presentation -- simple but elegant, and you can tell the chefs put real effort into every plate. Another highlight was the ambiance. The music, the decor, and even the lighting made the restaurant feel cozy and authentic. It's the kind of place where you can come for a relaxed dinner, a date, or even a family celebration. Overall, this restaurant truly exceeded my expectations. It's rare to find a place that has amazing food, excellent service, and a great atmosphere all at the same time. I would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone who wants to experience real Georgian cuisine. If you're looking for a place that delivers both quality and authenticity, this is it.

Yelp
We wanted to try this place since we saw it and decided to do a last minute girls night here and it was a hit!! Sitting inside felt like I wasn't even in Pasadena it's a step into the Georgian world and it's so nice the ambiance and vibe of the restaurant. Great drinks they are definitely generous with the drinks very cute and tasty! The food was great too the trio dips the bread with it and also we got the dumplings the meat one was so so good that we ordered another one! Highly recommend trying this place for a different setting vibe fun night out! The service and waiters were so attentive and on top of it especially Nova! Great service that makes you want to return! Thank you can't wait to return with my husband and friends!

Yelp
It was my first time trying Georgian food, and I found that their cooking style is quite similar to Chinese cuisine. For example, the wagyu dumplings tasted exactly like Chinese dumplings, except the wrapper was too soft, which made the texture less enjoyable. The eggplant salad turned out to be stir-fried eggplant. It tasted just like a typical Chinese dish, which was really surprising. I also tried their signature Adjaruli Khachapuri, topped with salmon, which made it taste like an eggs Benedict, definitely a creative twist. Another pan-fried fish dish also came with side dishes cooked in a Chinese style. Overall, the whole meal felt very much like eating Chinese food, which I found quite interesting. The service was very good. The restaurant décor seemed to reuse most of the interior from the previous restaurant that used to be there. It felt like they just changed the name and the cuisine.

Lisa F.

Yelp
The ambiance is upscale, trendy. My husband and I sat at the bar sitting brunch. It was fairly busy, but the bartenders were so fun and attentive. We had amazing drinks and the food was fantastic. My favorite was the warm eggplant salad. The portions were much bigger than we'd expected and everything was so good!!

Yelp
. What a beautiful and fun restaurant to have lunch or dinner at. We came here with my mom and sister and had an awesome experience. The customer service was amazing so was the ambiance here. The tarragon cocktail was delicious. They have other drinks too but we will try it another time. We ordered a few things to share. The summer salad and the khinkali were my favorite. The ajarski with eggs was ok , I have had better ones. My kids loved the fried khinkali. They have many dishes to choose from so we have to come back and try more items. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Lovely place.

Yelp
This is a very niche cuisine, Georgian, as in the country and not American southern comfort food. I wish they offered small plates of these unfamiliar dishes so I could order several without breaking the bank (this being a very posh high-end place). The beef 'doughboy' dumpling has very savory wagyu and broth inside but the very thick wrapper fills you up after a few bites. (The Chinese equivalent would be called a 'bao' not dumpling.) The chicken with walnut sauce is cold sliced chicken breast swimming in walnut puree' sauce. I wish our waiter had told us it's a cold soupy dish but it is what it is. Dark meat would have made this dish more palatable. My friend loved her rosé Georgian wine. A note on the latin pop music they play in the dining room, not my cup of tea, but quite surprising given Georgia has produced some of the world's greatest classical musicians in the past 15 years: pianist Khatia Buniatishvili, violinist Lisa Batiashvili, opera singers Anita Rachvelishvili, Nino Machaidze, Paata Burchuladze, George Gagnidze (the last of whom I interviewed for my blog before his Hollywood Bowl debut in "Otello".) I understand classical music is consumed by only 2% of the U.S. population, still it seems to me a missed opportunity to introduce great Georgian culture in addition to the cuisine. In sum, a welcome new addition to Pasadena's diverse foodie culture, very chic and Instagrammable, come here for drinks even if you don't care for the food.

Yelp
Hold up! We are talking about Georgia, the Eurasia COUNTRY and not Georgia like Atlanta Georgia. Location & Parking : behind the Chase Bank building off of Lake and Deda validates up to 2 hours of parking (saving $13.50). Hostess: She looks like Selena Gomez from 10 years ago. Ultra gorgeous. Girl crushes her instantly. Ambiance & Space & Bar: 10/10 magnificent! Great vibes! Great for business or celebrations. Impressive for large groups. Beautiful. Service: impeccable and definitely know great customer service Food: cultural awakening. The restaurant is filled customers who were Eurasian and that's a fabulous sign for authenticity. I depended on yelp for photos because of my first time encountering words such as khinkali and adjaruli khachapuri . Their signature dish is a khinkali that looks like a Chinese mega huge soupy Xiao Long Bao but the flavors are bold in spaces but still soupy. Khachapuri is a fun interactive cheese boat bread. We also ordered the creamy shrimp and served as a great sauce for the other dishes.

Yelp
Deda is truly a gem in Pasadena. From the moment you walk in, the intimate setting and soft, warm lighting make you feel like you've stepped into a cozy gathering in someone's beautifully designed home. The interior is elegant yet inviting, and the staff welcomes you with genuine warmth that immediately sets the tone for the evening. Their service is exceptional--thoughtful, attentive, and perfectly paced. But as wonderful as the atmosphere is, the food is the real star. Our large group shared many dishes, and while I won't list them all, I can confidently say this: no matter what you order, you are guaranteed an unforgettable culinary experience. Every plate was vibrant, flavorful, and prepared with such care that your taste buds will absolutely demand a return visit. There is no way to go wrong with anything on the menu. This is the time to be adventurous and fully immerse yourself in the world of authentic, traditional, and contemporary Georgian cuisine. Whether it's bold spices, comforting classics, or beautifully balanced modern dishes, Deda delivers something special in every bite. One more thing worth mentioning: the sense of hospitality here feels almost cultural--warm, generous, and genuinely proud of the food they serve. It elevates the entire experience and makes you feel like a welcomed guest, not just a diner. Deda is more than a restaurant. It's an experience, and one that I can't wait to have again.

Yelp
Deda is such a special addition to the LA food scene -- the first Georgian restaurant in Los Angeles, and it's absolutely worth the visit! We started with two standout cocktails: Dediko - light, fruity, and super refreshing. Muraba - rich and jammy with warm spice notes. For food, the Khinkali Kalakuri dumplings were juicy and flavorful -- don't forget to slurp the broth inside! The Adjaruli Khachapuri was the star of the table: boat-shaped bread filled with melted cheese, butter, and a runny egg -- indulgent and perfect for sharing. The Pkhali Mezze brought a colorful variety of walnut-based veggie spreads (beet, spinach, and eggplant) with so much depth of flavor. The interior is warm, modern, and inviting -- think elevated but cozy, with traditional touches that feel like a nod to Georgia's roots. Service was so friendly and attentive -- our server took time to explain the dishes and made us feel truly welcome. Whether you're new to Georgian cuisine or already a fan, Deda is a must-try. You can really taste the love in every bite.

Yelp
Stopped in for a late lunch with another couple, my cousin and his wife who live out here. The place is very nice with an Al fresco section that is half inside and half outside. Service was friendly and efficient. We ordered a bottle of Georgian wine - which we know nothing about. We asked for something like a Chenin Blanc and were served a very nice bottle of refreshing slightly acidic white. Food was fine we ordered from all over the menu some bread for the table, Georgian traditional style, sausage and beans, grape leaves wrapped around lamb, cucumber salad and a couple of other dishes, croquettes with cheese filling, beet salad and another long loaf of bread with an orange colored butter. All the food was wonderful. I would liken it to other eastern Mediterranean food, Lebanese, Turkish. It was quite flavorful. We all enjoyed the meal. Service was great we never felt rushed. It was about 130pm on a Sunday. We have never eaten Georgian food but will look for it when offered. Mark & Nancy.

Yelp
Deda is the best new vibe in Pasadena! Deda Restaurant in Pasadena is a highly-regarded Georgian restaurant, known for its authentic and delicious food, warm atmosphere, and welcoming service. The restaurant is very elegantly designed, creating a great atmosphere for conversation. Georgia is one of the oldest wine-producing countries in the world. The fertile valleys and protective slopes of the South Caucasus were home to grapevine cultivation and neolithic wine production for at least 8000 years. Now you can enjoy Georgian wine in Pasadena. Their wine paired perfectly well with khinkali or dumplings. When you dine here, you will feel being like a part of the family due to the restaurant's hospitality and charming ambiance.  -pomegranate glazed salmon -Megrelian kharcho - Wagyu beef, spicy walnut, tomato sauce -mountain trout -wild boar -khinkali kalakuri- wagyu dumpling -chashushuli veal stew Drinks: -blackberry mocktail -Dediko -2018 royal khvanchkara, red semi sweet, racha

Yelp
Took my friends to Deda restaurant. The decoration, cleanness, and ambiance were great. Our server Daria was very attentive and would check on us frequently. We ordered eggplant rolls and different types of khinkali. The flavor was excellent. The penovali lobiani modifications and presentation made by the chef, was not up to our expectation, and definitely not matched to this great restaurant standards. We will return to try other dishes and enjoy the Caucasian hospitality.

Yelp
Starting with the good, the ambiance was great. Perfect for a date night or family event. Servers were very hospitable for the most part. Except I accidentally touched chunks of gross wet food on the plate they gave me. When I politely pointed it out, our server took it away without a word. No acknowledgment or sorry or anything? If it was a small mom and pop, whatever, but for the insane prices Deda charges--unacceptable. Totally ruined my appetite before the food even came. There was also a Disneyland-esque photographer who randomly took our pic without telling us why, and then later they tried to sell us our own photo for $20. What?? I really really wanted to like the food. It was my first time trying Georgian food and I was excited. I'm always open to trying new foods and flavor palettes, maybe it just wasn't for me. The pkhali mezze was ok, just bland. The "wagyu" khinkali was definitely not wagyu. The baje chicken was dry and ice cold. I'm not going too into it because it's my first time trying these dishes. If I had to come back, I would just get the pear lemonade at the bar. It was all extremely overpriced, around $105 for 2 appetizers and 1 main (just 5 khinkali) and 1 small drink. If you have a Korean flavor palette you probably won't like this place.

Yelp
You Knead to Eat Here -- A Georgian Food Love Story in Pasadena! If you haven't been to Deda Restaurant, stop what you're doing and go immediately (okay, maybe finish reading this first). This cozy little spot is serving up authentic Georgian cuisine that'll make you question every other comfort food in your life. It was our first Georgian meal ever, and now we're emotionally attached to khachapuri. Everything was ridiculously good, like, "how is this not illegal" good. The vibe? Warm, welcoming, and just the right amount of buzz. There's a sunny patio, a chill bar area, and even a private dining room if you want to impress your friends with your sophisticated world-food knowledge. Bonus points: two hours of free parking in the back (a rare and precious gift from the Pasadena gods). The staff was so friendly and genuinely excited to share the menu, you can tell they love what they do. In short: come hungry, leave obsessed. Deda is a 10/10 culinary plot twist you didn't see coming.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! I've been living in Pasadena for the past three years, and it honestly feels like a blessing to have such an amazing Georgian restaurant so close to home. We've been to Deda three times already, and every visit has been just perfect -- delicious food, warm and attentive service, and an atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. It's no surprise people drive here from all over Los Angeles -- and even from other cities -- because it's absolutely worth it. The khinkali are outstanding, the Khachapuri are on point, and everything tastes so fresh and authentic. I keep recommending this place to all my friends, and if I ever celebrated my birthday or wedding, I'd choose Deda without hesitation.

Yelp
Yep after visit #10 it's just logical I like this place! Convenient parking with validation, clean restroom and kharcho and khinkali never fails! Not too mention their manager Dachi very knowledgeable about Georgian wine and never hesitate to serve me my favorite Tsolikouri! Asya the hostess always happy and adds a lot to the ambience!

Yelp
I've come here twice with my Georgian friend and she told me this is the most authentic Georgian restaurant in the los angeles area. I love their dumplings, phkali mezze, georgian garden salad and khachapuri. The staff is so friendly and the atmosphere is fun with a great outdoor patio. They also play international sports on the tv like the world cup if you're interested. Highly recommended!!

Yelp
I love trying the foods of the world and am glad I had a chance to visit this upscale restaurant with comfortable seating and colorful pillows that adorn each side of our booth. If I had to describe Georgian food, I would say it's cross of European/Middle-east Armenian foods that are fired off a spit, wrapped in grape leaves or blended with legumes and root plants. An overall healthy dinner with two-hour parking validation at the first driveway.

Yelp
Deda Restaurant in Pasadena is a gem. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by how spotless and spacious it is. The dining room is huge and can easily accommodate a lot of guests without feeling crowded. The booths are extremely comfortable and luxurious, with beautiful patterned cushions that make you want to linger over your meal. The ambiance is warm, stylish, and inviting. The food, though, is on an entirely different level. The menu is packed with so many intriguing Georgian dishes that I couldn't help myself, I ordered a whole spread. Starters: Khinkali Kalakuri - I know it's listed as a main, but I had it as an appetizer. Five beautifully hand-folded soup dumplings filled with Wagyu beef. They were incredibly delicious and bursting with rich, savory broth. Lamb Tolma - Grapevine leaves stuffed with seasoned minced lamb, garlic, and herbs, served with a yogurt garlic cream sauce. These were absolutely packed with flavor and perfectly balanced between hearty and bright. Mains: Adjaruli Khachapuri - Their signature cheese-filled bread boat with molten cheese and an egg yolk. I'm not even sure what blend of cheeses they use, but it was easily one of the most delicious meals I've ever had--comforting, indulgent, and unforgettable. Chashushuli Veal Stew - I tasted this from my friend's plate and it was outstanding: tender veal simmered with tomatoes, bell peppers, and Georgian spices, served with creamy mashed potatoes. So, so good and incredibly satisfying. Dessert: Napoleon - Flaky, creamy, and beautifully done. A perfect finish to a rich meal, and I highly recommend saving room for it. Overall, this was a culinary experience completely outside the usual restaurant routine, in the best possible way - unique, flavorful, and memorable. Between the amazing ambiance, the spotless and luxurious setting, and the truly original food, I absolutely loved Deda and will be back soon.

Yelp
We ordered the pkhali mezze, adjaruli khachapuri, wild boar kupati and lobio, pork mtsvadi, and khinkali kalakuri. The pork kebab was by far the best dish, though I prefer Saffy's. The rest ranged from mediocre to disappointing. The sausage was tasty, but very dry. The khachapuri was also dry and slightly overbaked. The khinkali kalakuri was particularly weak: the dough is overly thick and the filling was bad (it's a waste of SRF Wagyu). For the price, I would have hoped to the food to be more refined and less sloppy. Other than the food, the ambiance is nice and cozy. The service could use work. I'd also like to note that a busboy came over and put clean napkins on dirty plates, which truly confused us.

Yelp
Deda has been popping up all over my Instagram feed, and since our family has Georgian roots, of course we had to check it out -- part curiosity, part support. They have a very convenient parking structure and they validate parking for 2 hours (otherwise can cost about $20.00). Upon walking in, we were greeted warmly in Georgian by two hostesses. The space is big, modern, and decorated with a fun cultural twist -- film posters from Georgia and Armenia that instantly set a cool vibe. The setting/ plating is nice, but the utensils were a bit dirty. Our server was kind, though the pacing was... let's just say a little too relaxed. We asked for water, but it was forgotten. Later, we asked for paper napkins, but it never came (luckily we had some in our purses). The bread came out first and was fantastic -- warm and fresh, perfect for our appetizer that didn't end up coming until much later. For food, we tried the Chicken Baje (great flavor, Sahara-level dryness), the sturgeon plate (good, though it leaned too sweet with the molasses side), and of course, the khinkali -- the dish I was most excited for. My mom has been making khinkali my entire life (she lived in Tbilisi for 10 years when she married my dad, so she knows what's up). Unfortunately, the khinkali was a letdown: the menu said beef, but the taste screamed lamb, and the saltiness was super intense. We know how much love goes into making these, so we forced it down. I am a salt lover, but it was unbearable. I am surprised nobody tests the batch before sending it out. I was a bit concerned with the flavor too - if it wasn't lamb, why did it taste like it? OR, if there IS lamb mixed in with the beef, why wasn't that notated on the menu? It was concerning for multiple reasons such as allergies or issues digesting lamb. Service had its ups and downs -- one server (didn't catch his name - guy with a great beard) was fantastic and even double-checked on our appetizer when I asked him if it's normal to receive our entree before an appetizer. Meanwhile, other staff/ our waitress were off in the corner chatting, dancing, and overall not showing a sense of urgency to their tables. Overall: 3 stars. The food has good moments, but it's overpriced for what it is, and the service could be sharpened. As many reviews point out, it's not quite "authentically Georgian." That said, I want to root for them. The foundation is here -- a great concept, beautiful space, and clear effort. With a few tweaks in the kitchen and a bit more attention from the floor staff, Deda could really shine.

Yelp
If you're looking for a dining experience that truly transports you, don't miss Deda Restaurant in Pasadena. From the moment we stepped in, we were met with warmth and style--the ambiance channels a chic, cozy European-meets-Caucasus vibe, and it immediately set the tone for something special. We started with the house-baked Georgian bread and adjika-spiced butter--such a comforting beginning, warm and nutty and richly aromatic. From there, the standout dish for us was the hand-folded dumplings, the Khinkali Kalakuri: delicate yet hearty, filled with a sumptuous wagyu beef broth that poured out with our first bite, followed by the richly seasoned meat melting in your mouth. They nailed it. We also loved the Adjaruli Khachapuri--this cheese-laden "bread boat" arrived bubbling, the crust beautifully crisp at the edges, the molten cheese and egg yolk inviting you into a kind of luxe comfort zone. And the warm eggplant salad--that's a dish I'll dream about: tender, fragrant, subtly layered with roasted veggies and Georgian spices. The service was friendly and attentive, and while the evening felt relaxed, the portions and presentation made it feel celebratory. The drink menu is also awesome--tasteful cocktails and Georgian wines that complemented the food beautifully. Deda is an absolute gem. Whether you're indulging in something new or expanding your palate, this Georgian escape in Pasadena feels upscale yet intimate, and totally worthy of a five-star outing. I'll definitely be going back--and recommending it to anyone who loves food with soul, style, and flair.

Yelp
After not having Georgian food since I lived in Ukraine three years back, I was excited to try Deda the moment I came across it. Food was delicious. Service excellent. Make sure to get the khinkalis and the khachapuri. Thanks Manny!!

Yelp
Food was delicious! Decor and design was lovely! This is the first time that my friends and I had Georgian food and we ordered what our server recommended. We also got drinks all around and thoroughly enjoyed it as well. The only thing we'd skip is probably the khinkali with cheese. We were all expecting melty cheese inside but it's more of a solid cheese and just didn't do it for us. Everything else was quite flavorful! Overall the price did seem a bit steep for the amount of food but then again, you're in Pasadena. It came out to almost $60/pp including drinks for the 5 items we ordered for the 5 of us.

Yelp
Went to dinner with group of 6. The food was mediocre and overpriced! The service was hit or miss! The servers were friendly but the hostess was very rude and cold! First we were moved around from our original table stating they had a bigger party coming... however throughout the entire time we were there no one came to that table! The placed was very rushed they were trying to get rid of us even tho half the place was empty! Matter of fact the hostess (I assume that's who she was as she didn't introduce herself) came to our table with an iPad AS we were still eating the dessert and had not finished the coffee, and informed us we had overstayed our 2 hour time there! But obviously no such ridiculous thing was mentioned to us during reservations! Also let it be known that there were a lot of empty tables, it's not like there was a line outside and a full house!! I do not recommend this place! Don't go! Save your money and spend it somewhere you're welcome.

Yelp
We had a birthday celebration for our friend, and the atmosphere was great -- we really enjoyed the food and the overall vibe. However, there's a big downside to our experience. In the middle of our celebration, the hostess came over and told us there was a two-hour limit per party, asking us to finish our dessert and leave. This was very disappointing and, frankly, not acceptable in the U.S. We had ordered a lot of food and were planning to make this one of our regular spots -- but after this experience, definitely not anymore. Absolutely unacceptable.

Yelp
Absolute wonderful addition to Lake Ave. This Georgian restaurant offers delicious and authentic dishes in a gorgeous atmosphere with incredible service. We tried the Khinkali Kalakuri, which are huge soup dumplings with wagyu beef, and were the most popular dish. The eggplant salad was super tasty, and the lamb was also delicious. They prioritize the overall dining experience, so reservations fully booked very quickly so if you want in you will likely only get seating at the bar. The interior is one of the most aesthetic I have seen.

Yelp
Deda is a new Georgian food restaurant in Pasadena, which with its great vibes, has transported me to a posh cafe in Eastern Europe. The decor is modern upscale with wall art and music playing, being authentic to the country of Georgia. The food is amazing too. I tried their Wagyu Khinkali, khachapuri megruli and the veal with mashed potatoes. The khinkali with wagyu beef was unreal. It's essentially a large dumpling, very hot, which you hold with your hand, carefully bite off a piece of it from the side and enjoy the heavenly wagyu broth dripping into your mouth. You afterwards take another bite of the dumpling and this time you're indulging on the wagyu beef itself, which has incredible flavor and just melts in your mouth. The wagyu khinkali plate comes in a set of 5 and it's absolutely, positively a must try! In addition to the khinkali, I really enjoyed the veal entree. The meat was perfectly cooked, very flavorful and tender and it came with the creamiest, most delicious mashed potatoes that I've tried in a while. Definitely a winner. The restaurant also has full bar and signature cocktails and my friend and I tried one each and they hit the spot. The customer service was outstanding. The waiters were very friendly, attentive, polite and knowledgeable, as is customary in such establishments in Georgia and really in all of Eastern Europe. Very happy that I tried this restaurant and will definitely be back!

Yelp
Positives - Food was delicious! Servers were quite friendly and knowledgeable. Ambience was good. Negatives - there is a 2 hour limit per table regardless of how much you eat or spend. This is ridiculous and unacceptable. It truly reduces the class of the restaurant to a cafeteria level.

Yelp
I celebrated my birthday here and it was absolute perfection from start to finish. We started with the Eggplant Pkhali Roll -- delicate, flavorful, and so beautifully balanced that I could have eaten an entire plate by myself. The Sturgeon Mtsvadi was next-level -- smoky, tender, and bursting with flavor, cooked to that perfect point where each bite just melts. The Khinkali Kalakuri dumplings were plump, juicy, and full of that comforting, soul-warming Georgian seasoning that makes you close your eyes in bliss. And then... dessert. The Georgian Donut "Ponchiki" was pure joy -- warm, airy, and just sweet enough, the perfect happy ending to an incredible meal. The food was outstanding, the service warm and genuine, and the atmosphere made it feel like a true celebration. Deda is a gem, and I can't wait to come back -- birthday or not!

Yelp
This is a cute little restaurant that seems like it borders on the high end with the prices and portions. I can't complain too much about the food; everything was pretty good. Maybe the only thing I could say is the khinkali, compared to Chinese food, was lacking in flavor. The dumplings remind me of Chinese dumplings. Where it kind of makes sense to have smaller dumplings, because the juices and broth inside are easy to eat bite-size and whole. Whereas with the Georgian dumplings, if you bite into it, since they're so large, a lot of the broth gets spilled onto the plates instead of into your mouth. I don't know if it's because it was Sunday, but the service was a bit slow. The waiter that brought the food explained everything well, and the service is what you would expect from a high-end restaurant minus the speed and attention. The stewed wagyu beef was tender and full of flavor from the spices and how it was stewed. Pieces melted in your mouth. The lamb wrapped in grape leaves was full of flavor and tender; you could taste all the spices. The eggplant salad was delicious, but for the portion and what was served, it seems a bit overpriced.
