Dee Jay’s Hoagie’s & Pizza

A polite suggestion to change your hours to 8:00 pm instead of 9:00 pm, I called at 8:15 pm, which I didn’t personally think was too late at all to make an pickup order but was answered with “We’re done for the night.” Then being hung up on. I get it but man is there other ways to go about this that doesn’t come off rude and confusing. I was going to be a first time customer, live in the neighbourhood and was hoping to find a new affordable place to become a regular at but I can’t say I will try again after this.

This place is a true hidden gem in scranton! I've been going here for a long long time whenever im working in the area. It's a small hole in the wall with great food and always a friendly smile behind the counter 😀. Usually in and out fairly quick no matter what you order,during lunch they get a little busy but you know your going to get something good to eat. This is their Italian hoagie, they kinda make them upside down or something but it's delicious. I get my dressing on the side because I don't like soggy buns.

I’ve been going to deejays since I’ve been a kid ! Their mild wings are delish , and actually come with blue cheese and celery which is a plus . I will say I really do like their pizza too ! The guy working is always so nice and always helps everyone get out of the building when they buy a lot.

I love their food but these people seriously need an attitude change, no matter what day, year, month it is they always have a NASTY attitude in person/over the phone and it’s not just one person it’s all of them as if you are wrong for ordering or calling. Seriously grow up and don’t work food service if you are too miserable to be kind.

I am the last person to leave a bad review if a mistake has been made, but this was downright ignorance !!! my dear friend and neighbor places an order a week in advance & confirmed it prior to the day of delivery & it NEVER SHOWED UP!!! They NEVER answered their phone when she called to check on it & hours later when they decided to pick up the phone … get this …. THE OWNER STATES HE GOT SLAMMED WITH ORDERS & just ignored the LARGE ORDER $$$ that was placed prior to any others !!! The day was VERY DIFFICULT to begin with … our friend was attempting to celebrate her deceased husbands birthday & what would have been their 34th wedding anniversary & the total lack of respect for her by the owner made a tough day so much with worse !!! Shame on him …. He should be so ashamed & NEEDS TO REACH OUT WITH A HEARTFELT APOLOGY!!! Not a pathetic … sorry … got slammed !!!

GREAT small Local business…. I Order here a lot and they deliver to our shop it’s all around amazing… lets keep the long time local families in business not these pop up over nite NY NJ fake chicken places Your local Tower on Farr.

Been going here since I was a little girl and I'm now 23 years old. It hasn't changed that much and I absolutely love the people that own it and work there.

I have to be honest here. This is the lowest quality cheese steak I've ordered in my life. It's small and it's almost like they put the least amount of meat they possibly could. I would not recommend this place. If you're in the area order you food on market street much higher quality food. Sorry but I would hate to waste my money here again.food not made with any kind of love.

Everything... I run the towing for MOLETSKYS on north main and they deliver to us they have the food done in timely manner and best yet there a local small business who everyone should support. And remember watch your step when you leave They are just awesome people they help u out of need be keep food warm if u call saying u will be late. You can sit inside and have a drink while you wait but not none of those Karen drinks hood old beer

Great prices for chicken wings! I just ordered 50 medium spicy wings, and they only cost $30. That's ¢60 apiece! The order came with celery sticks and chunky blue cheese dip. Very good deal for a party.

This place is an institution in Greenridge- it is always great quality and the pricing is reasonable. Give it a try- you won't be disappointed!

They have been here forever. Their menu says 38 years. I Used to order the California salad in college ,which was a long time ago.... well I just moved nearby and they still have the salad. It's delicious as ever and very fairly priced at $6.75 for a large romaine lettuce salad with cucumber, grilled chicken, carrot, tomato, onion, croutons and hard boiled egg. I cant review the other food yet but definitely recommend this. They take cash or credit, have plenty of street parking.

Love them but delivery needs to be more consistent...lots of people around here without vehicles

Dj's has been around a long time now and I have been coming back here for many years but not anymore it seems like they just gave up the food has slipped over the last few years and just keeps getting worst I think once you stop caring about what your putting out to the public it's time to just pack it up and quit.

My 74 Mazda broke down in front of this place back in 85 . It was a cold night around midnight . Me and Jimmy stitzel we're up all night from long long Coke benge's. I go up to the window to see if they got any of those chicken things and what do I see? I see two fat ugly people bumping nickels like there's no tomorrow. I don't mind I didn't mind I was getting hot and heavy on the cold cold night. But then this is where is the review gets bad. They both make eye contact while the man Smiles evilly. He takes one of those big Arizona Iced Teas. You know the big ones for a dollar.god honest troot,sticks that beautiful can RIGHT UP HER ALLEY. go if you want a good taste in a bad tummy ache. Some say Paul O'Neill eat the chick Sammy plain dipped in Bleach for about 17 years before he went off to play for the Yankees. My nephew nykki got caught stealing and Arizona so I told them what you should always do when you get caught stealing something. Stick it down your pants and scream. Hopefully the screaming will release the necessary fluids to get the party started.

Dee Jay's has some of the best pizza and hoagies in Scranton, PA. The only reason we ended up here is b/c we heard about this place from watching 'The Office'. Can you tell we are office fans, lol!! But seriously, this place is good. It's more of a carry-out kinda place, but they do have about 4 tables in there. It's a little more Mom & Pop shop so the food is really good. Check it out if you're ever in that area.

I give it 4 stars for the hot wing hoagie. I have been here over a dozen times and it is the only item that makes me come back. It is a must get, you will not be disappointed.

I didn't even know what a Buffalo Chicken Hoagie was supposed to taste like until I tried Dee Jay's. Needless to say it was a very emotional experience for my taste buds. If you find yourself driving down Main ave in North Scranton do yourself a favor and stop in before you get stuck going to a chain in Dickson City.

I been going to this place for 20 years ... I tried to get 2 slices and 2 Busch cans .... was polite as always .... and they turned me down for absolutely no reason whatsoever .... showed my ID .... and they walked away and gave no reason ...... I will never ever go there again .... and nor will any of my friends or family ever go there again ! Shame on you ! Dee Jays .... absolute garbage

Easily the best pizza shop in the North Scranton area. They have great wings and anything hot wing will fit your needs whether it be the pizza or hoagie.

Their wings are pretty decent. They deliver too so its great to order a bunch of wings when ppl come over. Other than that, it's a menu full of cheap decent food

I used to go here all the time, but the last few years have been AWFUL! I gave them a few extra tries, because every restaurant has a bad day, but this place is consistently horrible. The place is filthy. The food is on par with fast food joints. Don't even bother trying to order delivery either. The last two times I ordered delivery I had to cancel after almost 2 hours of waiting. The last time they told me a half hour, and after an hour and 45 minutes I called and my order wasn't even started. Avoid at all costs.

I've been to Dee Jay's before, about a year ago and was satisfied with my order. However after tonight ill never go back, ever! The staff is very rude and unprofessional. Its filthy dirty and $50 later the food is still on my kitchen table and my family and i are still very hungry. The wings were soggy , the wing sauce was more like grease. I normally don't waste my time on writing reviews but if i could save just 1 person from wasting their time and money its worth it . If your planning on going to Dee Jay's you might as well take your money and toss it in the trash. Wouldn't recommend it at all.
