DASHER REVIEW: I picked up an order from here today around 5p. When you walk in you get the typical restaurant vibe. Soft 80s/90s pop background music. Dark lights. Booths n tables..... Nothing special there! Where I believe they shine is the food. I say this because, athough I did not eat from here (delivery), when I walked in there were many doordash drivers waiting to get their order as well as many other orders waiting to be picked up. This is important because it was Sunday afternoon and for that many people to be ordering food at one time during dinner hours means that their kitchen must be doing something right lol. The wait staff was light but they all spoke. At least the ones that came in contact with and they were friendly. The place was cleaning the tables were already set which is a good thing for a place where you eat at. I provided pictures of the menus. All in all, I believe this is a great place to take the family for some Thai food. I'll go a little on the pricey side , but not too much

Was in town visiting my daughter and went here for my birthday and it was great. The food was fresh, tasty, and the complimentary soup and wontons were a nice touch. My wife and daughter loved their Bento Boxes. The only problem was the Thai Spicy wasn’t hot at all.

AHH!!! IT IS SO GOOD!! This is hands down the BEST Thai restaurant I have been to in the Charlotte area. I got the Kao soy curry noodles with chicken and oh my gosh. It was heavenly. The coconut milk was present in every bite of the curry and the noodles were cooked perfectly. Every bite was creamy, smooth, savory, umami, and the chicken was tender and even the pickeled chilli side was so complementary and delicious. The ambiance of the restaurant was also awesome. And the servers were so helpful. We went on mothers day and let me say, the line was out the door for doordash pick up. This is clearly a crowd favorite. I loved this place and I can't wait to come back and try their other dishes.

The service and food is so good! Reeya is an awesome waitress, and so fun to talk to! My boyfriend and I got the drunken noodles and pad thai, they were great. Very cute location, perfect for date night.

Google
My go-to Thai restaurant in Charlotte! Quick and easy to dine in or take out. Always reliable! I love to get the pad see ew & Thai tea 😋 they also have some pretty yummy sushi. I will say there basil fried rice was really yummy but a spicy level 3 was HOT HOT HOT 🥵 I got the Thai crepes recently and that would highly recommend!! Thin, crispy fried crepe with a sweet cinnamon sauce, mangos, and ice cream on top!

Google
Ordered the Thai Fried rice with chicken and veg at 4/5 spicy and the chicken wings. Both items were really good. I would recommend eating here. I will return if ever in Charlotte NC again. Update 8/28/24 - I was in town again and ordered the exact items as before. Everything was exactly as I remembered from the last visit. This confirms that I ordered from this restaurant twice and was very satisfied both times. I highly recommend trying this restaurant if you are in the mood for Thai food.

Delicious food and a relaxed atmosphere. Easy parking. Our server Amaryn was fabulous. First time visiting, we will definitely be back!

We came in on a Friday night and was greeted and seated right away. The service was excellent. The food was very good. All the dishes were hot and fresh. I got the Mountain stake and my wife got Lemongrass chicken. We also got spring rolls and sushi as appetizers. The Thai Crepe for desert and the wife said that was her favorite. I will say it was really good. My only complaint was I thought the portion size was kinda small for the price but food had good flavor. I would say a must try if in the area and wanting some Thai food. They do to-go orders if your not wanting to eat in or they have a little outdoor area.

Yelp
Great service, great food, great ambiance. Kwang is the best server my wife and I have ever had. Had the JB roll chicken wings and miso soup. 10/10

Yelp
We went here for Joel's birthday lunch. He ordered the duck curry. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't great, and it was overpriced. I ordered the pad Thai, but there's typically comes with udon noodles. What?! I subbed them for wide noodles, but the noodles weren't the typical Asian wide noodles. It also comes with chunks pineapple, which i thought was weird, so no pineapples. They weren't bad. The best thing was the crispy spring rolls, fresh, hot & full of veggies.

Yelp
Deejai Thai was the best of both worlds! Some people wanted Thai some wanted sushi so it was perfect. I got the red dragon roll which was great but SUPER spicy. I think their spicy Mayo is the culprit of the spicy. The salmon nigiri were also great. We split pad thai and that was also so good. Ambiance is cute inside and the service was great.

Yelp
Great lunch special deals!!!! We came here for lunch and it was an amazing deal. You get a soup and light appetizer (fried wonton strips with sweet chili sauce) that comes with your choice of entree. I'm someone who can eat spicy so when I say that their spice is legit, I mean it!! Their lunch entrees are enough for two meals. I came with a party of three and none of us finished our meals and had enough for a second portion to take home! We also saw that they had bottomless sangria for $5 and took advantage of that deal. Our server was super attentive and sweet. She always made sure our drinks were full. Can't wait to come back again and I would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants a lunch deal that is worth every $$!
google avatar

Jake N.

Yelp
Food was good and enough for two people. We also had lemongrass which was tasty. It's good but service was okay and not amazing given the 20% gratuity added in it seemed like they slacked because they already knew they would get a good tip. We may try it again but have had more authentic other places.
google avatar

David E.

Yelp
Food is average, with a lot of salt. Good size portions though. Service was friendly and attentive. It would have been nice to see the itemized bill and the automatic service fee before I paid and added the tip! Ambience is nice.

Bob K.

Yelp
First time here and what a great meal. Just the right amount of spice and flavor was great. Friendly service as well so definitely a must try.

Yelp
I love this place with my entire heart. Their food is so good and I never write reviews. GET THE TOM KHA SOUP

Yelp
Wonderful experience as a first-timer here! We were quickly seated without a reservation on a packed Saturday night, met with warm and friendly service, and everything hit the spot: highly recommend the Khao Soi and Red Curry with Salmon!

Yelp
Deejai Thai NEVER misses! My favorite crab rangoons in the city. I got the chicken green curry spicy level 3 and it was . Enjoyed every bite and always happy when I can take left overs home. Went with a party of 6 and everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. The service started off slow but picked up and our food did not take long to come out. I will always love eating here!
google avatar

Yelp
We got pickup from here. The amount of pad Thai is definitely sharable for 2 people didn't look like in the the container but it was! Good Flavor not to Sweet but always better with a lil sauce for a kick! Crab Rangoon were very good tasted like real crab but don't know if it was or not and they were fried to perfection. You get 5 (can't stand odd number appetizers) Spring Rolls were just good regular spring rolls but good and you get 4 of them per appetizer. Food was ready quickly and if you check in you get FREE SPRING ROLLS PARKING IS DECENT BUT IT WAS RAINY SO IT WASN'T TO BUSY.

Derek S.

Yelp
This spot is usually decent but my wife and I went recently and felt like we didn't have very good service. I also felt like for our spice levels the food was extremely spicy when I've ordered the exact same spice level before and it was entirely different. Maybe they had an off day but I feel like I've had better experiences at their sister restaurant, Deejai Noodle Bar.

Yelp
Great food. The Red Curry is definitely my favorite. You also can't go wrong with the Pad Thai.
google avatar

Savori S.

Yelp
Ordered delivery and my food was open when I received it. I reported it to the resrestaurant and to the delivery platform only to have the restaurant deny a refund, although I reported for food safety. There was spillage throughout the bag where it seemed as though the order was rushed to bag up and the items were not double checked for closure. I paid almost 100.00 for food that couldn't even be eaten!! This was my 1st and last time experiencing this establishment based on how this issue was resolved. No, apology was even given. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't like wasting money and time. Both were wasted.

Yelp
Deejai is my very favorite Thai restaurant. It is quaint and located on Providence Road. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. I love a lot about it, but the greatest things are that the food is awesome, and we always have the best waitress. Their whole team is very nice and accommodating, so it always feels very welcoming to go and doesn't disappoint. My first draw to Deejai was the shrimp pad thai, but now my favorite dish is panang curry which I get with beef or a combination of beef and shrimp. They have a lot of great appetizers too, but my favorites are the curry pot stickers, fresh basil rolls and pork bahn mi sliders. I usually dine in, but they are a very popular place for to go orders too. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The pad Thai is always a must when I visit the Charlotte area. Our takeout order consisted of pad Thai with chicken, one with shrimp, spring rolls and this time we added crab Rangoon. We knew the pad and the spring rolls were on point, but the Rangoon? The Rangoon had CHUNKS of crabmeat. They were stuffed and perfectly crisped. We won't order without those again. As far as the restaurant itself, it looks like a casual environment. There were lots of takeout orders. The parking lot is easy to get into and I was sent a text message that my order was ready for pickup. It's a Charlotte must for me.

Yelp
This was my first time ordered from here. I had the drunken noodles and they were sooo good!! Very flavorful and just the right about of heat!!!

Yelp
Awesome spot for lunch! I have been meaning to try Deejai Thai for about a year and yesterday I finally did for lunch. First off, they give you a complimentary bowl of soup when you sit down plus some crispy wonton skins. They have a large lunch menu, that's pretty eclectic with more than just Thai dishes. I ordered the cashew delight with chicken and it was SO good. Lots of umami flavor and a hint of sweetness. You can't beat the price either, it was only $12 for all that. Will most definitely be back. Food: 4.9/5 Service: 5/5 Ambience: 5/5 Cost: 5/5

Doug H.

Yelp
Very sub par. I literally had 6 tiny pieces of thin chicken in pad thai. My wife had red curry, left a lot to be desired. The meat seems to not be season, you only get any flavor with the liquid. Very disappointing. Moo* *hai is much better.

Yelp
Why did it take me so long to get here? Such an amazing lunch, and with leftovers for dinner. I will certainly be adding this spot to my lunch rotation! I came in and was immediately greeted and sat, and they were also efficient with taking my order. Then magically this soup appeared and it was like a delightful version of Chicken Noodle that I wanted to dunk my face in. I ordered the bento box for lunch, and it was a perfect mix of everything - salad, rice, sushi and chicken. Everything was delicious. The chicken was in this delicate sesame sauce that wasn't either overly sweet or spicy. The salad, it was your typical ginger salad, and same with the Californian roll (pregnant so no raw sushi at this time) - but they were both fresh and light. The crab rangoons were also delicious little pockets of flavor. I loved that it was enough food for lunch, but still some to take home as well. This is defintely a spot to check out to satisfy a Thai craving and I can't wait to come back and try dinner here too!

Matthew H.

Yelp
This was one of the best Pad Thai that I have ever had. The lunch special is a great value!

Yelp
I haven't been a huge Thai fan my whole life, but over the last year, and especially during quarantine, I have become a huge fan, and continue to check out places I passed on for years. Deejai Thai being one. I placed my order, via DoorDash, on a Saturday night. I have been starting out with basic dishes until I know if I want to venture further, so being my first time, I of course ordered the Crab Rangoon and the Veggie Delight with Chicken. The order arrived right on time and the food was good. The rangoon was still crispy but the filling tasted a little too imitation for me. Great dipping sauce. As for the vegetable delight, a nice variety of veggies, in a light broth sauce, but definitely light on the chicken. Overall I enjoyed and definitely look forward to checking out other items on the menu, including sushi.

Yelp
I've had this restaurant on a Must-Try list for a long time, and I finally made the long drive to check it out for a super-late lunch... This is a sister restaurant to Deejai Noodle Bar in NODA...and now I know that it's smaller and more casual, with a rather dark, murky-looking interior. With Covid raging in NC, I eagerly opted to dine outside on their patio...and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was, with striking black-white flooring and red chairs/tables. Also, loved the fact that there was only 1 other table of diners...so quiet and peaceful! I could be wrong, but there was just 1 waitress working the whole restaurant when I arrived. Think I spoke with her on the phone (to confirm their lunch hours), where I thought she was quite short with me (but it could just be a language barrier?). In any case, she wasn't at all friendly at first (didn't even bother to greet me when I entered the door, so I actually initiated the greeting lol), but gradually became nicer as the meal progressed. I can't say it was the best service I've had, but it was fine. Food-wise, I went for their Red Curry with Salmon, which was quite hefty ($20)...with a side order of Spring Rolls, and Thai Iced Tea. The meal included complimentary sides, Rice Soup and Wontons. Not my thing, so I left it untouched, but it was a nice offering. I've tried this amazing Salmon Noodles dish at their sister restaurant, Deejai Noodle Bar about a year ago, and remembering loving it. Unfortunately, I only moderately liked the Red Curry w/ Salmon here at Deejai Thai. It tasted good, but just nothing more than that. The sauce was rather thin and somewhat mild (surprisingly, the waitress didn't even ask if I wanted it mild or spicy?). Also, I really didn't like any of the veggies (very bulky and largely cut). I didn't even like their Spring Rolls...tasted really odd (??). Same with the Thai Tea. It was barely sweet, and a very small portion, mostly ice at that. So sadly, the meal was quite disappointing. I truly wanted to like this restaurant, but frankly, I just didn't like any of the foods or the drink that I ordered. :( Surprising, because I LOVED the foods at the other sister restaurant in NODA. Despite my disappointment with the foods I ordered, I will say again how much I loved their patio...Not only attractive, but very comfy as well. On a beautiful day like today, it was a near-perfect patio dining experience. Truly, their patio made up for what would have been a much lower rating. Thanks to their delightful patio experience, I am definitely open to returning here to try something else on their menu.

Yelp
Deejai is a cute Thai restaurant with great service and awesome food. There were 6 of us and every dish we ordered was good. The place was pretty as well and it looks like their to-go orders stay busy with neighbors. We are definitely going to come back again.

Yelp
This is one amazing Thai food place. One random evening we just ended up going here. My wife is always hungry for Thai, Japanese and Korean cuisine so we landed here. The service of this place is good. They greeted us nicely, also let us choose the table for us. Some place will dictate and debate on your choice of seating but the host here was really nice to let us settle down where we felt comfortable. They have good knowledge on their food and can give you details on the food or if you had questions about substitutes or any request you have. The Food was the best. I ate so much that day and i don't regret it. I am a critic by nature so its very hard for people/cooks/chefs to please with with average food. But i am telling you, i have never loved Thai food so much although I have tried some of that in Bangkok too. We had some chicken satay, Pad Prik, Thai chicken wings and Drunken Noodles. i finished everything, left that plate clean and shiny. Highly recommended is the Chicken Satay with their peanut sauce. Also tried their Bar menu since there were no much beer on draft. I would highly recommend the business to have some Thai beer on tab that would be amazing with Thai food. Plus the cocktails didn't impress me comparatively the prices they had. Overall, it was a wonderful experience food wise. They definitely need to level up their cocktail game. Rest everything is best.

Yelp
My husband and I adore Thai food and are happy to add Deejai Thai to top 5 list for Charlotte-area Thai restaurants. Service was friendly. They have a nice drink selection. The food was outstanding. Flavorful, fresh, and delicious!

Yelp
Food was very flavorful and plentiful. Wait staff was attentive and helpful with menu options. Authentic Thai!

Yelp
This place is 4 stars for a reason! I was just on a hunt for Thai food since mine was nowhere near and unexpectedly came across Deejai Noda Noodle Bar. The food was by far amazing, magically delicious, and exuded every taste bud on my tongue lol. I had the spicy basil fried rice (tofu), with the vegetable roll. I enjoyed how they brought out spring rolls and wonton chips as an appetizer how they do at Mexican restaurants. Everything was superb.

Yelp
The restaurant was found on yelp seem to be a decent Thai spot. Visiting from out of town with my best friend. Ordered drunken noodles all vegetarian vegetarian spring rolls & chicken satay and my friend got drunken noodle with no meat. Ordered cme out wrong but was corrected immediately. To much liquid in the dish, taste was good. Most of my previous encounters and the way i was taught (Executive Chef) was using a wide rice noodle, but the noodle change was interesting. Waitress was professional, offered her likes, and was attentive. My food had the right heat, but the peanut sauce has to go on everything. I will come back through. The decor and ambience were nicely appointed. The male bathroom was clean, had spray and functional.

Yelp
Had the Pad See U, Bahn Mi Bao Buns and crab Rangoons... everything was SO good!! I would give 10 stars if I could... Pad See U was a giant portion and so flavorful

Lei D.

Yelp
Worst Thai food in my life. The noodles were unflavored and nit edible. Staff was slow and confused.

Yelp
Amazing Thai restaurant near my apartment that I walked to one day to pick up some shrimp pad Thai. I was not disappointed! They have a great Covid friendly setup for takeout and to go. They were very fast and the food was spectacular!

Yelp
I've been a fan of Deejai since it opened in NODA however not sure if these locations are affiliated but the food is just as good as that location. My first time coming to this location do to some unusual circumstances this night lol but glad we did. I'm a big fan of noodles so was a good location for me but I was happy that they could accommodate the different palates of my friends with this being so last minute. They social distanced well here although we were close to another table but not enough to where we didn't feel safe in this weird world of COVID. The service here was a bit lack luster due to the waitress also working the many DoorDash drivers that were coming in literally like every few minutes. Orders were literally stacking up on the bar so this location is very popular apparently lol. Anyway Deejai isn't a place you come for drinks since the waitress isn't a trained bartender. Our drinks weren't balanced but she's was very nice to switch out our drinks for more basic drinks like vodka/soda and Jack on the rocks. However the food here is A++ so it's definitely worth coming here for good food. My friends ordered the Pas See You & Pad Thai but I'm a noodles guy so the noodle bowl with seafood right up my alley. Tons of various seafoods and the broth was very flavorful. They only thing they were missing is some baguettes, I love dipping into the sauce. Anyway great spot and we'll be back again.

Yelp
Food was good. They don't have the thick square noodles but flavor wise food was still good. Ambiance is chill and service was great.

Yelp
My sister came to visit me and wanted to try Thai food. I've been to several Thai places and wanted her to experience Deejai Thai although I've only visited once before. My really good friend also decided to join us. We started out with several appetizers, I mean why not lol. The crab Rangoons are the perfect mix of cream cheese and sweetness exactly how I like it. The basil rolls with shrimp are really good, however the peanut sauce makes it 10 times better. I could eat the peanut sauce which pretty much everything. My sister and friend truly enjoyed the spring rolls and Thai chicken wings. The spring rolls had a great crisp to them. They loved those soo much they ordered another order lol. I don't each chicken so didn't try the chicken wings however they mentioned these were some of the best Thai wings they've ever had with the right amount of spice to them. If you don't do spicy food, the chicken wings may not be the best thing to get. We ordered the pad see eu with shrimp which is great. My fav to order. I love have the noodles are on the sweeter side and how the flavors just come through with each bite. My friend had the basil fried rice (spicy level 3) and the spice was too intense for me with the few bites I had. As you can tell I'm not a spicy food eater. To end it all, I had the shrimp tempura roll with a side of eel sauce and I ate every bit of it (didn't allow a chance to even share) because it was that good. Yes it was a lot of food for 3 people but hey we came with a big appetite, so many great choices to try and definitely leftovers to indulge in tomorrow (pad see eu as they give you a whole huge bowl full). Please go if you're ever in the area. You won't be disappointed

Yelp
Love the food. When they're busy check your meal. Visit 1 perfect meal Visit 2 missing main component (pineapple) from meal - cashew delight Visit 3 meal was perfect

Amy Q.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to get takeout from! They are always very quick and I've never had an issue with my order in the multiple times that I've ordered from here. Be careful with the spice level though, they mean business!
google avatar

Jacqueline T.

Yelp
This had been on my list since I had heard it was one of the best Thai restaurants in Charlotte, so we finally decided to try it. Bonus: we got a Groupon for it. For appetizers, we started with the spring rolls and pork sliders. I loved the spring rolls and the sauce they came with. I was a bit disappointed by the sliders. The inside was great, but they came on bao buns which are supposed to be soft and ours were very hard. For our entrees we got the Spicy Lemongrass Beef and the Drunken Shrimp Noodles. Both were advertised as a spice level 3. I don't like really spicy food, but I thought the spiciness was a good amount. Neither of us liked the Lemongrass that much. You couldn't taste the Lemongrass flavor much. It was ok, but I wouldn't get it again. The Drunken Noodles were really good though. The shrimp was a little overcooked, but the sauce and noodles were a great combination. We both loved the dish. We finished off with the sticky mango rice for dessert which I loved. My husband thought it was pretty good, but didn't like it as much as I did. The rice is what makes the dish -- it's sweet and perfectly cooked. The mangoes are a great addition. I wish you got a bit more ice cream with it though. It's a very unique dessert and I would definitely get it again. All in all, I was a little disappointed compared to what I had heard about this place and I do think there is better Thai in Charlotte. I did enjoy it though and I would come back again.

Maria C.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! My family and I shared the pad Thai, pad see u, and the spicy basil chicken. The food was fresh and flavorful. My parents enjoyed it so much that they requested for me to bring it home to them as takeout a month later when I was going back to their house to visit them in lake norman! The food is delicious and the service is great. They have great indoor and outdoor seating options if you want to eat in person too!
google avatar

Taylor A.

Yelp
Good service. Yummy spring rolls (pretty spicy though from the spring rolls and sweet and sour sauce). I had their basil fried rice but I got it without the chili peppers (I can't handle any spice really). Unfortunately, it seemed the spice was the one seasoning for the rice bc it tasted very bland. However, my fiance enjoyed their drunken noodles - he likes spicy and they were definitely spicy. We had their mango madness cocktail - delicious and pretty strong. Lastly, for dessert, we tried the lava cake. It was gone in a minute! So goos. Service was good and entrees were large. Just wish the fried rice had more seasoning than just the pepper

Yelp
I called in an order and the food was delicious as always! My favorite is Panang duck.

Yelp
I tried their food truck fare. The Lo mein was phenomenal, potstickers not so much! I will update my review once I try the restaurant..

NItta S.

Yelp
This is my go to place. Authentic Thai food. I love spicy food and you can ask for spicy level which can be up to Thai style 5+...my favorite dish was koa soi. It's thick rich curry and coconut cream with sides of onion and sour cabbage. Drooling while typing lol. The mango sticky rice was really good too ! With coconut cream topping and ice cream.

Ralph C.

Yelp
Check your takeout orders carefully from the Deejai in Providence Rd. Picked up a $46 takeout order, only to discover there was no rice! Yikes.
google avatar

Taryn R.

Yelp
Solid spot for a flavorful lunch or dinner! They're almost always running a Groupon or Living Social deal. So, if you pay full price, you're doing it wrong. Consistency is a bit of a struggle -- I've had a grill beef salad one day that almost burnt the tastebuds off my tongue it was so spicy and then the next week the grill beef salad is so mild I had to ask for a little chili sauce to spice it up. At lunch, they give you a cup of soup and some crunchy noodles on the house. They're also on Postmates, which comes in handy those days I can't escape the office. Oooooor, don't want to leave the house.

Katie P.

Yelp
We got delivery, so I can't speak on dine in, but it was really good! Definitely will get again in future.

Yelp
Fantastic food...great little place for sushi....service is great and friendly... all there apps are good to!
