First things first, the food here is fantastic. Since discovering this spot a couple of weeks ago, I've been obsessed with their crab puffs. I've placed multiple different orders for them as they are absolutely to die for--especially when you're having a late night craving. But, unfortunately, I almost dread having to walk inside this place because I always wind up feeling so uncomfortable.
Not once, out of the 3-4 times I've come in, has anyone ever so much as acknowledged that I was there. I usually wind up awkwardly standing off to the side of the bar until the bartender is finished doing whatever, and I can finally be like, "Hey...I'm here for a pick up?" The bartenders will literally see me walk in, and just flat out ignore my existence. It's truly weird.
I've served in restaurants off and on for about 10 years. And, at every restaurant that I've ever worked at, management has always stressed the importance of greeting customers, as soon as they walk in the door, for this very reason--so they don't feel unwelcome.
Maybe it's just complete and utter obliviousness, but it's making me think twice about coming back.
