Deep Purpl Acai Bowls

Deep Purpl has been a way I treat myself on Saturday mornings since I discovered it. The generous açaí bowl I get there is delicious enough to be a dessert but healthy and substantive enough to constitute a main meal. Here is why Deep Purpl is better than other açaí bowls I've had in other cities and countries: 1. The açaí is HEALTHY! Other places mix açaí berries with sweetener and other things, but Deep Purpl imports their berries directly from Brazil and puts the frozen berries straight into their blender for serving. No added sweeteners. Just frozen, blended açaí berries. 2. Unlimited toppings! Other places charge you for additional toppings beyond the first three or so, which adds up quickly. Purpl Açaí allows you to choose as many as you like! And anyone who watched that Hack Your Health documentary on Netflix knows that the way to strengthen your gut health is to diversify the variety of plants you consume over a week--so unlimited toppings is a huge win for gut health! 3. The most extensive selection of toppings options! I'm going to post a pic of their list, but it is unrivaled. From goji berries to kiwi, coconut flakes to almond butter, if you can dream it, it's available at Purple Açaí. I first discovered Deep Purpl at the Oglivie location and live nearest to the Elizabeth St location. So why am I reviewing this Rogers Park location near Loyola, you ask? Because this one has the most knowledgeable server. He knows how all the ingredients are made and acquired; he knows the history of the business and its expanse trajectory; I fully expected him to be an owner based on his knowledge. And I LOVE to order from someone who can help me better understand what I'm eating. So, in conclusion: Run, don't walk, to Purpl Açaí (especially if you're in the Loyola/Edgewater/Rogers Park area!) Do your gut a favor and make these bowls part of your weekly routine. And if you're lucky enough to have Sachin take your order (shout out to Sachin!), strike up a conversation and learn something. You won't be sorry.

This was my first time trying an açaí bowl/cup and IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! It was so delicious and perfect for a quick breakfast before class! I got it with strawberry, banana, and granola toppings and I loved it! The service was also very fast which is nice! I highly recommend!

Can never go wrong with their bowls (or technically, cups ;P). I’m a fan of the fruit toppings, powdered milk, almond butter (sooo good), and granola for texture. I know it’s supposed to be “healthy,” but really I go for the guilty pleasure. A big plus that it’s Loyola-alum owned, and is the branch closest to the school. I wish they do more to make this branch extra special for the ramblers.

$12 for a 12oz bowl including unlimited toppings. The toppings is what puts this place at 5 stars, they do not skimp! Great service, they even gave granola on the side when asked or can do double layers if asked. I’ve tried many açaí places (outside of Chicago — in seattle, nyc, Hawaii) and this is one of the best places I’ve been. Enough to share between two people too!

Anytime my order is wrong I always check to see where I got it from. Without fail, everytime my order is wrong it's because I ordered from this location instead of Evanston. I ordered four açaí bowls this time. They sent 3. The icing on the cake is that they don't have a number attached to the business. Pathetic

Too Good to Go order was mediocre. The 3 pieces of slices bananas, with what tasted like frozen ice was not worth the money. Customer service was blah!!

Love their customizable açaí bowls with a variety of healthful fruit and protein options such as peanut and almond butter. While they are a little pricey, the health benefits are well worth it. I stretch the bowls by making smoothies out of them by adding yogurt and milk. Delicious breakfast or mid morning treat. The place is always clean and the staff, especially Ricardo, very pleasant and quick in processing orders. There are several high top and regular seating options if one wanted to hang out with friends. I would check their closing hours if you are heading their later in the day as they have switched to their winter schedule.

In search of a healthy snack, we hopped into Deep Purpl for some superfood and we weren't disappointed! An açaí bowl, a blue smoothie and a vegan empanada to go. Sweet, savory and satisfying. There's something here for everyone's taste and it's good for you too, so give this place a try!

I am a college student currently in my finals week, the stress has been overwhelming. I went on a walk and accidentally dropped my phone right in front of this amazing store. I forgot to get this amazing woman who worked there, she might have been a manager or supervisor, but she showed me so much kindness. She went above and beyond to help a stranger like me out. She worked so hard even though she didn't have to, to get my phone back to me. She has motivated to push her kindness forward, and I am so thankful there are people like that in this world. She gave me a big hug and welcomed me into this wonderful store. I am referring this great store to all my friends and family for the amazing hospitality and delicious food they offer. This woman truly deserves a raise or something, for the extraordinary hospitality and kindness she has shown me. Its like a healthy purple frost with all the good and healthy toppings a body needs. Great atmosphere and a great location. I will definitely be back.

$9.95 for a medium 12oz, $11.02 with tax a cc fee. Only take CC's, 2.65% fee. Really yummy, and perfect for summer breakfast or snack! Unlimited toppings is exciting! I got strawberries, banana, blueberries, chia,coconut, granola and almond butter. Delicious! Definitely recommend adding a nut butter! They also have smoothies. Two high top tables and a lower lounge seating area.

Bit pricey, but really tasty and good for you. Very kind individual serving you. Relaxing and modern ambience.

takes so long. why is there always only one person working in here. have to wait like 15 minutes for them to assemble a smoothie bowl even if there is no line. the pricing is also ridiculous for what it is. if you want to pay 10 dollars for a smoothie go to tropical smoothie cafe down the street and get one twice the size with better flavor options.

I wanted to like this place more considering it's close location to Loyola. The inside is clean, cutely decorated, as has lots of seating, but the food is underwhelming. This location doesn't have empanadas which is why I wanted to go in the first place! I ended up getting the deep purple smoothie which was incredibly mediocre. The consistency was more runny then a normal smoothie. However, the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Absolutely amazing have only been twice but both times have been extremely great!! Plus for what your getting the price is amazing. I have nothing but praises for this shop and the staff have all been extremely kinda and helpful

I order on line to pick up my order at 9:00 am and the place was still close. When they where supposed to be open already at 8:00am I pay and never got my food.

This is their eighth location in the Chicago Area and this is on the other side of Loyola University. Prices are average just like the others. Staff and service is excellent.

5 Stars. Really excited for the new smoothie and açaí bowl place. Tried the strawberry banana and it was phenomenal. Great atmosphere and nice workers. Everything is made fresh and definitely going back because the açaí bowls looked delicious!!

I just ate an acai bowl from a different store. it sucked and it made me realize how amazing deep purpl is. deep purpl is the absolute gold standard of açaí bowls.
