Shishito pepper were had just enough kick to them, not too spicy and not lacking in spice. Both sushi rolls were amazing. One of the left was called Yuzu Breeze and was the roll of the month. Amazing bold flavor. The one the right is called the Spirit of Texas and is a regular item on the menu. It truly does pack the Texas Spirit with a spicy jalapeño coursing through the roll. I absolutely loved this roll and could eat it weekly!

Google
Went in to try out their happy hour selections. Sat at the bar and service was great and the rolls were delicious! Daily specials on drinks during happy hour as well as decent selection of rolls to choose from. Great experience, would go again.

Google
TL;DR fresh, tasty, good price. Deep Sushi was very nice. It was our first time going in and they took great care of us. Typically sushi for two means spending over $100 but we left full and satisfied including an amazing dessert for around $80. We did not have any alcohol though and that would likely have pushed us over the $100 mark. Everything tasted fresh and delicious and had unique but vibrant flavors. I will be returning in the near future. Great spot for a date or family dinner. Oh and they have a weekend happy hour which is hard to find these days.

Google
I had the 5 piece albacore sashimi (forgot to take a photo), and it was fine. Had a crab wonton, definitely not my liking but my friends like it, and they liked their sushi rolls. They liked the Hawaiian role the best and they had the Deep roll. Probably I would have enjoyed it more if there was Ahi sashimi

Google
We came in to try the happy hour because the reviews were ranting and raving about how good it was. Well, I'm here to tell you that if you are anything of a sushi lover, you are not going to enjoy the rolls here. They were so bad that you would have thought they came from Kroger. Had they given me at least a little bit of quality in their happy hour roll, I would have been more inclined to try something on their regular menu. But seeing as how they couldn't even get a California roll right, I didn't want to spend the extra money to get a subpar roll. Apart from the food, we had the saketinis which were so overly sweet and hard to finish. The cherry on top was the poor service. Or should I say, obligatory service. No one there looked happy to be serving us or anybody for that matter. Unfortunately, the experience has deterred us from wanting to try this place again. Deep sushi used to have really good food and customer service. That's not what you'll find here anymore. Save your money and try something with better taste and bang for your buck.

Google
I love deep sushi! The vibe in there is so great and so is all of the staff. The service is super quick as well. The rolls are priced very well and also when it’s happy hour they still offer a lot of rolls to choose from. If you’re not a sushi fan, they have other items on the menu that are just as good. They have pineapple fried rice that comes in half a pineapple, which is cool to me. They also have orange chicken and it’s so delicious. I love coming here to try new rolls and get the ones I love the best which are the “best” roll, Dallas roll, spider roll, love at first sight and the crunch roll

Google
I love fried sushi and was looking for a sushi bar skilled at it. The food was amazing. I believe the fried rice is the best in Dallas. I tried all the food I could stomach and afford in one setting and wasn’t disappointed. I came at a great time. It’s a great place to chill after working all day. They have happy hour specials that include drinks and appetizers. The waiter was so kind and had a great personality. He gave me many recommendations and made sure I enjoyed my stay. You can pay on the tablet your server has. It looks like they even take mobile pay. Feedback: Only advice is the waiter’s zone partners could definitely speak to guests that aren’t their own. They look at you for sure but that could be followed by a greeting or a smile. They talk to themselves and their guests, but if you are going to refill a water, or stare at your partner’s guests, speak too.

Google
Just made an online to-go order on my way back to Houston from Tulsa and it was all amazing — super easy to order, order was ready quickly, and delicious sushi! I got the cherry blossom and the geisha rolls. Both so good. I’ll def be back next time I’m in the area

Yelp
What a great day date lunch! Very fast and delicious. So friendly and helpful in making menu choices. Would recommend. Look forward to returning.

Yelp
Decent sushi spot! Be sure to come for the happy hour. If I'm not mistaken it finished at 7pm! I do not recommend their spiciest role - green lady. It's filled with a ton of wasabi and isn't a fun dish even if you love spicy items!!

Yelp
This place is consistently good and priced very reasonably in the city. Definitely recommend this place for dinner.

Yelp
one of my favorite sushi spots. amazing food. nice service and they have daily happy hour even on weekends

Yelp
YOU WANT TO COME HERE! The food was amazing the sushi, they made it exactly how I like it! Obsessed, the service was amazing. Marvin was the best service I've ever received in the city of Dallas. Not going to lie, I've been to a lot of places & I felt special treatment! The ambiance was very cute vibe, the music was def a vibe as well very professional place I give this a ten out of ten,!!

Yelp
HOLY COW My new favorite sushi spot, just a quick walk from home. I will be back, amazing happy hour deals and amazing sushi & service! The ambiance was very casual! We sat in the back room and it was a little noisy but overall we had a great experience. We got the Spirit of Texas Roll (lil spicy) / Love At First Sight Roll (love this roll very saucy) / White Dragon Roll (oh my god can't recommend this one enough)

Yelp
Had a nice time with my sister. Took her out for her bday. Happy hour prices were good. Our server Antonio was new, but he did a great job. He is learning about sushi.

Yelp
Sadly, I was disappointed in the food. The spring rolls were odd (deep fried). The sushi had shredded lettuce on top (so strange), and it didn't taste very fresh like maybe it was made the day prior or so. I asked for lemonade twice and never received any. I know with large groups to give grace but overall not a fan of the food. Hopefully this helps for future improvements!

Yelp
Ms. Kayla is the bombdigity, very on top of her game. An absolutely fantastic experience every time we come.

Yelp
Horrible service... I was the only one sitting at the bar, and there was another table in the dining area... You get the picture of the place was empty! They have all day happy hour on Mondays, which is the only good thing that I know about the place so far.. bartender sort of gave me attitude and rolled her eyes. When I asked what brand her happy hour vodka was, and she said something cheap, which could be offensive to someone who is ordering their happy hour special.! Who come to shove I never got to eat, so I can't testify to the food but I would never go back due to the service

Yelp
Omg! The best sushi in town!!! The service was impeccable. The vibe in the restaurant was chill and relaxing. We went on a Friday during happy Hour (4-7pm) I had the veggie roll ($5 happy hour special) and the avocado roll ($5 happy hour special) and my daughter had the spicy salmon ($5 happy Hour special) and the Black widow. We had strawberry frozen margaritas ($2 off happy hour) and the spring rolls ($5 happy hour special on Friday) everything was so delicious! I have only been in Dallas for a month and I hadn't found really great sushi until now! I'm not sure what's up with all the bad reviews. My experience was the total opposite. I did see a sign that said under new management so I suggest you try them for yourself. This place was amazing.

Yelp
I'm a sushi fanatic and have been making my way through new sushi spots in Dallas. This was a great first stop for me. The sushi was fresh and rolled to perfection. We also enjoyed one of their sake selections. Our waiter was attentive and made adjustments as needed with no problems. I enjoyed this intimate spot!

Sydney D.

Yelp
Our server Jakailah was so amazing!! Very good sushi, I really enjoyed the eel roll. Happy hour made it worth it for both rolls and drinks. Will definitely come back again!

Yelp
Order via Uber Eats. I rarely leave negative reviews, but my recent experience with Deep Sushi was disappointing enough to warrant it. I love sushi and was excited to try this place, but unfortunately, it fell short in almost every way. First off, the sushi itself was subpar. The fish didn't taste fresh, and the texture was off--almost mushy in some cases. The rice was bland and overcooked, and the rolls were poorly constructed, falling apart as soon as you picked them up. To make matters worse, the portions were tiny compared to the price.
google avatar

I'm Hungry ..

Yelp
sushi was just good, we got a sushi boat to share with the table. Some of the fish just wasn't great quality, but the variety on the happy hour boat was there. The dining room is clean and cute. When it came time to pay, their system was down and when it finally came back online, auto gratuity was factored in, which is fine but many of us were planning on leaving cash as opposed to tipping via card. Overall, solid neighborhood spot.

Yelp
This place was pretty tasty!! If you are a roll kind of person, it's the perfect place. Right in the heart of deep ellum, so obviously parking sucks. The place is pretty small and intimate but their food is bursting with big flavor. The sushi appetizer balls were by far my fav!! Crunchy yet moist. The tower was a bit on the saltier side, but the rolls were delicious . I gave only 4 stars because though the food was good, service was great, food took too long to come out.

Heav C.

Yelp
My server was Desi, super attentive & the food was great food - Lady Dragon is def a wasabi lovers fav (mistakenly, we are not) cheers !

Yelp
Delicious spot! The tempura gyoza are the BEST! Loved the incredible roll and ramen too.

Yelp
Deep Sushi is one of my and my husband's favorite sushi places. While not traditional sushi, we do love their rolls. Our go-to rolls are the New York, Longhorn, Snake, Jalapeno, Incredible, Cherry Blossom, and Firecracker. We love sushi with a lot of spicy mayo and crunchy toppings, so if that's what you're looking for, I suggest any of the above listed. We usually come on Sundays to wrap up our weekend and fight the Sunday Scaries. There's usually no wait in our experience. Keep in mind Deep Sushi is in Deep Ellum so parking is a factor to consider. This is a popular restaurant, so I would advise going on a Sunday to beat the crowd.

Yelp
Our food was amazing, our waitress was wonderful and very helpful, minimum of $18 to park in the adjoining lot.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent service. Waitress walked us thru menu specials and questions. Wife loves Sushi so they talked same language. We definitely had a great dinner would go back for sure

Aniyah J.

Yelp
Great sushi, been coming here for the past couple years and have enjoyed it every time. It's small and intimate but enjoyable!

Ross W.

Yelp
What was I thinking? Deep Ellum sushi? Their 3.5 rating is generous. Fish is mediocre, service sketchy - forgot my ice tea and kitchen lost our nigiri order - live and learn. Knox Henderson or McKinney is not that far and the offerings are far superior.

Yelp
FOOD INSTAGRAM: @northtx.gemz **** WHAT THEY'RE KNOWN FOR: good and fresh sushi in the heart of Deep Ellum! THE VIBE: a perfect size sushi restaurant located in downtown. I would definitely come here for a casual dinner prior to a night out. PRICE: $22 + $8 tip WOULD I COME BACK? Yes! **** Overall Rating: 9.5/10 - You really can't beat their happy hour prices. A heads up to save extra money, don't park right next to the restaurant, park in the back bc it's $20 versus $5 parking! - The prices??? I got 2 rolls and 2 orders of nigiri for $20! It was super fresh and delicious. If you eat real sushi you know it can get expensive their menu is huge so even if you like dressed rolls or plain rolls they have a lot to choose from. Their bar was very well stocked too! - I docked 0.5 points because while I was there I made friends with the bartender (super cool guy, doesn't work there anymore) but there was an issue with the manager and the manager basically blew up on the bartender and I did not like that. It made the experience super awkward and it was pretty unprofessional for her to yell at her employees in front of other customers (it wasn't just me who saw it).
google avatar

Lexi S.

Yelp
Deep Sushi is great! Their rolls are so savory and delicious, as well as their miso soup. It is a bit pricey to be regulars at, but they do have a great happy hour if you love it as much as we did! Thankfully this place is right up the street, so HH isn't too far away!
google avatar

Beau H.

Yelp
Incredible happy hour - and all day Monday happy hour prices - the sushi comes out fast and is of high quality - also very kind people work here form the bartenders to sushi chefs working hard to match the larger crowds that we witnessed! I have been going to Deep Sushi since 2015 and this is the spot I choose before and after any concert in the Deep Ellum

Yelp
I came here for lunch on Halloween and was not disappointed. The specials were amazing for Halloween. The rolls are fresh not prepared in advance and the Mule was yummy. The cocktails are more on the sweet side but I did enjoy them. The service was good. I can't even complain my service knew the menu so that's a plus. The atmosphere was your typical sushi restaurant in DE but I think this place is my favorite sushi place. No excuse just good sushi. The prices are a little pricier then other spots but worth it.

Jessica M.

Yelp
Moved here from Seattle and this is the best Sushi place I have found in the whole DFW area! A rating of 3.5 is so misleading! Should be 5 stars! The food was so fresh and delicious! The staff was awesome and the restaurant has a cool vibe! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
this place is amazing i got noodles and when i tell they were divine service was good also definitely recommend

Yelp
Pick up order on a weekday night was super quick! The rainbow roll was fresh, miso soup delicious, and good serving of edamame. Servers were friendly. Would definitely come back next time I'm in time!

Yelp
Patronized this business with two others. We were immediately greeted and seated upon arrival. It was late evening. there was a moderate amount of people there. The waiter was polite, the appetizer and rice came out rather quickly but the 2 shrimp tempura rolls took too long of a time to come out. Then the waiter returned with 1 roll and an entree on the house. Not sure if someone else's order was incorrect or how we got that but it was very tasty. The rice was just okay but the roll and appetizers were fresh and tasty. I'd give them another try if I'm strolling in Deep Ellum.

Yelp
Great place with all day happy hour on Mondays. Very extensive menu with great service. If you go ask for Adonis to be your server. Very attentive and knowledgeable.
google avatar

Anthony C.

Yelp
This place was pretty good. We had a variety of rolls. Couldn't tell you exactly. All of them were really really good. It was a good place for a date. I will say it was a little crammed there and also very noisy. But, it was dim lit and very nice to sit and have some dinner. I recommend you try it for sure.
google avatar

David F.

Yelp
I put this in the top three sushi places I've visited. Ifish in Denver, Ginza Kyubey in Tokyo and this place. Not fancy but good value, really fresh sashimi, and some creative rolls
google avatar

Yelp
Nice spot for sushi with a chill vibe and knowledgeable waitstaff. The food is very good and fresh but be prepared to overpay. Make sure you ask for De De he is the best waiter in town!!

Yelp
I was lost wandering the streets of Dallas in Deep Ellum . When I saw a glowing light. Was it God? No it was Lee the best bartender in Dallas opening the door to a sushi heaven. She opened the door to a restaurant called Deep sushi. I was starved and hungry when she showed me the menu full of amazing specials. Lee then offered water which I drank but then had to have some sake. This place is amazing and it my new home away from home. I don't even buy groceries anymore. Anytime I'm hungry I just come here or order to go. I don't know if heaven is better then this but I can say that if heaven feels like this or if any other restaurants can compare to the service that Lee gives. The world would be a better place . Heaven exist on earth and it's called Deep Sushi. Come check it out for your own piece of heaven. Come sit next to me . My name is Big Mike. Talk to y'all later.

Yelp

Yelp
I am so glad that we decided to try out Deep Sushi for dinner! I had great food and drinks and thoroughly enjoyed myself! It was very bright inside and had a nice pleasant atmosphere. There was also a covered patio that was very comfortable to sit on. We were quickly seated and had our drinks order taken. I got some of the cold house sake, and we also ordered a Tokyo Mule. The mule was very tasty, although not that strong! Service was extremely friendly and quick - our water was regularly refilled without problem and anything that we needed, like sauces or whatever else, was quickly taken care of and brought over. The food itself was absolutely delicious and the prices were very reasonable! I got a chicken Yakisoba for only $7, and it nearly tasted like a gourmet dish! It was definitely one of the best I've ever had. All of the ingredients were perfectly mixed, cooked, and seasoned. I was in heaven! Coupled with some sriracha sauce, and it tasted sublime! The chicken was tender, delicious, and beautifully cooked. The noodles were just right! The Hawaiian rolls also tasted amazing. I loved the avocados placed on the top of them. So fresh! Everything here tasted so fresh and was cooked to perfection! I was extremely pleased with the quality, especially for the relatively low prices. I had a blast at Deep Sushi! The prices were excellent, the service was quick and friendly, the atmosphere bright, warm, and pleasant, and the food itself was absolutely delicious! I most definitely will be returning.

Yelp
Just had dinner at happy hour. Very disappointing. It took over 40 min to receive 5 rolls. ( 4 of the same) There were only 2 other tables of customers. When they came they were barely over the diameter of a quarter. I've been going there over 3 years and have always ordered the same rolls. When I asked the server if something changed she seemed bothered that I questioned the food. Won't be back.
google avatar

MaDonna W.

Yelp
Located in the Derp Ellum district .. so so very good... had a vegan sushi of: sweet potato hummus, avocado and sun-dried tomato. Seriously... what an amazing taste sensation!!! All the sushi was delicious ... but get the sweet- potato one, you will want it again and again
google avatar

Marina V.

Yelp
Cozy and warm welcoming restaurant. We particularly so love volcano sushi rolls, its gives you so much fullness that our other orders we couldn't finish it. No worries, we took to go P. S. Finding parking spot so difficult at deep elum. We've been driving around like 40 minutes, so we entered to restaurant around 9:48pm and were so rush to order before kitchen closes.
google avatar

Lara C.

Yelp
I ordered Togo and got the Hawaiian tuna $17 and seafood soup $8. The soup came in a small coffee cup. It is tiny- look at my pictures. It's great if you're willing to pay a big price and don't want to be full. I usually over order but wow, this place is a joke. Also, they give you the fake pink ginger with your sushi roll. I will not be ordering from here again- perhaps dine in is better. This place is very over priced for the portion of food you get. Plus - they gave me cutlery, plenty of soy sauce, and got the order correct.
google avatar

Natalie G.

Yelp
Excellent Suhsi! I tend to be super picky when it comes to sushi, and this spot did NOT let my big head down. The Miso soup alone was some of the best I've ever had. Great way to kickstart a meal. We ordered a Spider roll among many others. It was amazing. Served beautifully and with a subtly smoky taste. The Cajun roll was better than expected. Crawfish makes life better, doesn't it? The Dallas and New York rolls were unique and even better than I expected. I usually do NOT opt for cream cheese in my sushi, and I couldn't stop eating it in this case. The ambience is wonderful, the sake is good, and the service is even better. I would highly recommend biting into this place when you catch a sushi craving whilst milling about the DFW area. It is highly worth your while. 10/10.
google avatar

Nancy O.

Yelp
Food was freakin AWESOME! Loved the tempura shrimp as well as the tuna roll. Dragon balls were OUTSTANDING! You can't go here and NOT try them. Fried rice was really good too!
google avatar

Elizabeth H.

Yelp
It's good food. Last time I tried to go and got there at 1:30 for lunch to place a to go order and was told they were already closed? Why post certain hours and not uphold those. Also went on Tuesday bc they posted that tuesdays are all-day happy hour on their IG, but that was not the case. I am a firm believer in just being honest with guests about hours, policies and specials. The food is good but I want to support businesses that are genuine, especially when I recommend the business. It's like referring people to jobs. When you recommend someone or a product you want to know you can trust it/them.
google avatar

Skyy S.

Yelp
This has to be my absolutely favorite place! The sushi was fresh and delicious. The deals throughout the week are amazing. $5 sushi rolls on Monday's?!?! We had a great time and the drinks were great. I would recommend this to anyone coming to Dallas.
google avatar

Ethan B.

Yelp
Ok so this was my second time in Deep Ellum... Decided on sushi when I tell that it was amazing listen! The Volcano is like thee best!!! The server was younger so that could use some work but the Sushi is amazing !! Also they are Celebrating there 26 year anniversary week so go get some great food and drink... DEALS!!!

Vanessa S.

Yelp
Delicious food and friendly staff. Always get great service here! Place has a cool vibe and I love their happy hour deals.

Yelp
First time here. Came on a Monday around 11:30am when it was raining. Surprised that it was still difficult to find parking in the area on a weekday, during lunch when it was raining. We were the only ones here. Server seemed new & didn't really know what he was doing. There were fruit flies everywhere & house flies. Sashimi sampler - fish texture is broken, mushy, icy, & watery - like it's been frozen multiple times & slowly so that the giant ice crystals break apart the flesh. Beef bento box - beef is so tough, "I'm going to be chewing this for the rest of the meal." Spicy tuna roll - cucumber pieces cut too thin - doesn't hold its texture & squishes when you bite into it - not crunchy. Overall, experience was awful. The fruit flies were disturbing us the whole time we were eating. The fish quality is so poor. The flavor is bland. We stacked the dishes & they weren't taken away until after the check was brought after they sat there for 10 minutes. I would definitely not recommend & definitely not come back.
