I don’t think I’ve had a single thing from DeEttas I haven’t loved. One of my favorites is the ginormous cinnamon roll - it’s so flakey, and the glaze is just perfect without being TOO sweet and heavy. The cinnamon rolls literally weigh a pound - I checked! We recently ordered a donut cake from them for my husband’s birthday, and I was SO impressed. I’m honestly not the biggest fan of donuts, but my husband loves them, so it was what he wanted. I really didn’t know what to expect as we’d only heard about the donut cake, never seen it. I wasn’t sure if it would be stacked donuts, a regular cake shaped like a donut, or what. But it was a full-on giant fried yeasty donut. I have no idea how they fried something that big AND got it to cook well enough to be light and airy, but they did it! And the glaze on it was just perfect! Even though I don’t love donuts, I kept slicing off pieces for myself, and have not been able to stop thinking about it since we finished it! My only complaint is that they have a form on their website you can fill out with details of what kind of event treat you’re looking to order, but they just respond with an email that says to call them. I hate phones, so I loved that there was an online option, but it turns out there’s really not. I did this last year and forgot and then did it again this year. At the very least, a call from them might have been nice instead of the email response, especially since I often forget to call during business hours and only remember once a place is closed, thus another reason I love online ordering options. If you go on a Saturday morning, be prepared for a line, but it moves fairly quickly, and it’s worth the wait. The staff is always very friendly, patient, and helpful. There’s no seating at the shop, so be prepared to get your box of goodies to go.

*Editing: I went back and got the cinnamon roll and 😳! It may be the BEST I’ve ever had! I stumbled on to this local bakery as I was just passing by. I got a simple glazed doughnut (foundational) and one of their pecan coffee cakes (next level). The donut was extraordinary! Larger and a slight bit more dense in texture than expected. But that let the dough speak more of its amazing flavor. I have not yet tried the coffee cake, but I can tell you by weight, it is heavier than others. The host encouraged me to come back early one day and try the 1 pound cinnamon roll. I will! If I sound like I’m an expert in baked goods; I am not. I’m really just a guy, sitting in his car, scarfing down a doughnut.

As soon as you open the door, you will catch a glorious whiff of REAL butter and vanilla. Everything they bake is fresh including their giant cinnamon rolls. I was SO excited to learn that they bake pies as well. Available Thursday-Sunday only. Got banana cream and chocolate silk. In my opinion , this is the best bakery in the western suburbs.

There is no one better in town. Wow from daily available fresh treats to special events. I ordered a custom cake for my husband and they knocked it out of the park.

Only unique item is sold in weekend and is chocolate cream filled donuts; these heavy loaded donuts are best refrigerated.The eclair is filled with delicious vanilla custard but the choux ( dough) is too heavy resembling a bread.Update: now at Deets’s bakery one can enjoy savory muffins and $8 cheese bread!- all to go -because the place is cramped and Saturday AM iis highly busy but less so at noon. Bring your own napkins and drinks and have a picnic on the field grass!If you’re looking for a fun job now they are recruiting !Update July 2025: prices went up and we had a $40 bill for 5 items. Dough quality is off.. too crumbly.

DeEtta’s is amazing! Best bakery in the area by far. Been many times and I’ve never had something on the menu that wasn’t a 10/10. Their croissant cups are life changing! Great service and reasonable prices!

This is a really nice bakery with HUGE bakery items. My daughter gor an eclair the size of her head! They also had some delicious looking cinnamon rolls, the cookies were amazing, and the cake jar was perfection.

I’ve ordered several times from this bakery and every item has been a huge hit. This place is a true local gem and their desserts are amazing; pies are delicious and cakes are moist and truly exceptional. The service here is also wonderful, everyone is incredibly kind and bakers make great recommendations, they even include when to take cakes out to thaw and how to travel with them. Will keep coming back again and again, this is by far our favorite local bakery!

I ordered a sheet white cake with Italian (light) buttercream frosting with custard and fresh strawberry filling...Mmm, mmm, good! My guests loved it and almost ate the entire thing. Ordering was easy and I only had a little less than a week, and because of short notice they could not elaborate on any design but we agreed on a simple design and they decorated it just as I asked. (Give them a couple of weeks to get a more elaborate design). I can't wait to order my next one! My daughter picked the cake up for me at approx. 7:30AM and she said the line was out the door. Great experience working with DeEtta's for our wedding cake. They are the preferred bakery with Cantigny, so we went with them. Cake tasting was super fun. We went with a white cake, strawberry filling, and American buttercream. It was delicious and our guests loved it. Took some to go and very tasty days later. Design was chosen from their list, and it turned out just as expected. (Cake topper in picture was supplied by us) We have also tried their donuts in the past as well, and they are amazing. Friendly shop. Check them out!

This was a spur of the moment stop when I had driven out to this strip mall today to go to another store. As we were driving through the parking lot, I noticed alot of people coming and going from this bakery. They put a tray of strawberry cream filled donuts out in the case. When I picked up the bag that she put my donut in, I thought "How many did she put in the bag ? It was so heavy. There was only one donut in there. That gives you an idea of how big the donut was. I loved it. The strawberry cream filling was lighter and I think a little bit less sweet than a traditional jelly filling. The double chocolate chip cookie was soft. This is a great bakery that I will return to.

Ngl, I was so excited to come here that I didn't sleep much the night before! I got the incredible strawberry cream donut. Fresh strawberry cream filled donut with frosting and a pie like crumble on top. It was like having a strawberry cream diner pie. The crème diplomat in the chocolate custard donut was also tasty. Not overly sweet where the sugar drowns out the chocolate like other places. We definitely lucked out during the Fourth of July weekend - NO LINE! Score! The service was friendly and helpful. Get there early while there's plenty to choose from. Cute decor as well. I'll definitely be back when I'm in town again. Thanks for the yums in our tums!

I had the worst experience at this bakery !! I purchased 4 pies and cheesecake for my work because we had pie day at work !! I spend 120 dollars and the staff was not helpful .. she said they don't sell gluten free and I checked the website and it says they do!! I asked if they have some bag for the pies and she said it wouldn't fit and I can make couple trips to my car and didn't even offer to help me load it in my car !! This lady doesn't care at all and she didn't even close the pie box she let me do all the work for her !! Rude lady!! All my coworkers love the pies but I told them about my bad experience !!

Stopped in while I was in the area for business. I had been recommended here by family and was told it was great. When I walked in I was happy to see that they serve Modest coffee a local coffee roaster. Always love supporting local businesses. Service was extremely disappointing, the staff were not welcoming or friendly. Service moved very slow but rushed me while ordering. It felt very much like a hurry up and wait scenario. There was only one other customer there at the time. I tried a variety of items including a scone which was nothing special it lacked the dryness that I look for in a scone. It was almost soggy how moist it was. The cinnamon roll was huge but bland and not worth the calories for me. Finally the kolaches were above average. Buttery layers and a healthy portion of jam, these are the only things i can say were worth a visit here. Lack of seating is another issue I was hoping to eat my baked goods right away. There was no silverware or utensils to eat the cake in a jar they sell. I would highly rethink coming here, there are much better options for bakeries.

I don't know how anyone could give Deettas less than five stars. Every item I've tasted there has been ridiculously delicious (although the coffee cakes really aren't my favorite). The eclairs are huge and amazing. The cinnamon rolls are ginormous and delicious. My kids love the decorated cookies, and they even taste great. The donuts are fantastic. The lemon bars are unique, and probably one of my favorite items. And the Boston cream and strawberry filled donuts are fought over at my house. Those are probably our go-to items, although we have purchased others.

I have no clue how it is possible to be out of chocolate frosted donuts before 9 AM on a Saturday. Whomever is in charge of inventory does not do a good job at all. The store was not even that busy and you only make donuts two days a week if you don't have enough for the weekend when you have the opportunity to sell the most to make the most money. It will be a long time until I give you another chance.

I cannot say enough good things about this family owned bakery! It is always so bright and happy when I go in. The staff is always so friendly and excited to greet you. The sweets are beyond delicious! Their cinnamon rolls are ginormous and unforgettable! A place we frequent for special treats and celebrations! Love, love, love!

This is our go-to bakery. They have a great selection of baked goods and they are always fresh tasting. We come here to grab donuts a couple times per month. My child loves their cake balls.. they are about twice the size of the Starbucks cake pops and the same price (and more moist/better tasting). The staff is usually pretty friendly, although sometimes it does feel a bit rushed (usually always busy). We do wish there was seating but it isnt a deal breaker.

Busy place with nice baked goods but I was underwhelmed by the selection and the quality.

Response: I understand that the cost of everything is higher. But the cost of items is up, partially with the understanding that the cost of packaging is built in. If I bought one item, I would get a box. If I came back later to buy another, would I be charged 75 cents for another box? I was not asking for an extra box... just to have each item placed in its own box- which is built into the cost of the items in most places.

I had DeEtta's create these custom Nightmare Before Christmas cupcakes for my birthday and they are absolutely stunning!!! The cupcakes were immaculately detailed and equally delicious. I couldn't recommend this bakery enough! Thank you for making my birthday treats so special!

One of the best cannolis we've ever had...and D'Etta's knows it. Product (and in this case, pastry) swag goes a LONG way with us. If you have swag AND can back it up, we'll love you forever. We brought a box of cannolis to our friend's house (they even travel well) to surprise him after treating us to an evening of homemade pizzas (last pic). While normally, we'd review a business ourselves, we'd like to pass along his sentiment because he's taken cooking classes in Italy and has made cannolis for years. "So good, I even had one with my coffee the next day." That's high praise from our #1 paisan. Thank you, D'etta's for making a "cento" cannoli and (of course) making us look good.

Another 5/5 job from DeEtta's!! Got a birthday cake for my son's 1 year bday and a smash cake for him. Both came out even better than I imagined! Sandra listened to everything I wanted and worked with me to make sure everything was within my budget but still well designed. Great service! Great cake! and great designs!! love this place!

DeEtta's recently did my wedding cake and sweets for my bridal shower! Wedding cake has a bad reputation... I've had plenty that are dry and lack flavor but ours was the complete opposite! Our cake was beautiful, flavorful and so moist. I wish I would have had time to eat more! My only gripe was during the planning process. It was very simple to do an at-home tasting, but when it came to design, the consultant I worked with was not super friendly and basically told me that what I had chosen wouldn't look good (even though I had several pictures of exactly what I wanted which were simple and beautiful). In the end it all worked out, but it made me really hesitant about the process. The cake didn't look how I wanted, but it was still nice. With that being said, the cake was delicious and I would absolutely order from them again.

It was one month leading up to my firstborn's 3-year birthday and I found myself scrambling for a custom cake. Several bakeries mentioned they were completely booked for the month and some bakeries didn't even respond to my quote inquiry. DeEtta's was quick to respond with the detail and the order confirmation process was straight-forward. There are no order cancellations and/or refunds after an order is confirmed and paid for. The custom cake size has to be a minimum of eight inches. With our cake design and cake flavor, vanilla custard, our order came out close to $200. This is by far the most expensive custom birthday cake that I have ever purchased. However, I must say it was money well spent for several reasons: 1) Our cake design is relatively simple but these are the ones that are the most difficult to properly execute because it's easy to spot the cracks and smears. Our cake's outcome was immaculate! The lines were so clean and neat. I didn't even want to cut into the cake. 2) DeEtta's treated the cake with the upmost care. The giraffe and number 3 cake toppers were placed in a separate box from the cake. Both items have bundled up plastic wrap to cushion them and prevent them from tumbling. The number was laid flat which is thoughtful and smart move. In the past, other bakeries would have the cake assembled for me and the number would usually crack because it was too thin to be standing for several hours and most boxes aren't tall enough to begin with. 3) Giraffes are our firstborn's favorite and the grin on her face when she first saw the cake was priceless. 4) DeEtta's was not lying when they said the vanilla custard flavor is popular. Our firstborn does not have a sweet tooth and would usually reject dessert after the first bite. With this cake, she ate nearly half of her slice. I was grinning from ear to ear. I was eying the donuts as I waited in line to pick up my cake. I cannot wait to return and pick up a dozen.

My gf was craving a scone so I Google Mapped "bakeries near me" & discovered this gem. She got a raspberry scone & some kinda muffin; I got the double chocolate cookie. I like to heat up my cookies in the microwave for a few seconds to soften them up, but I didn't need to do that with this one as it was already super soft. So delicious! Will definitely keep this place in mind when craving a sweet treat.

I first visited to see their donut options but they didn't have any on display. Since I was already there I ordered a few pastries to see what all the fuss was about. I've heard from plenty of people that DeEttas was a great bakery. I ordered a couple of cherry turnovers and couple of chocolate eclairs. The eclairs were huge and the crème was delicious. I love cherry anything so the turnovers were delicious. Sorry I did t share pictures of the cherry pastry but they were gone quick. The young lady behind the counter was very pleasant. I will be back for the donuts.

Our wedding cake from DeEtta's Bakery was absolutely delicious! The entire process to coordinate our tasting and select our cake was very smooth. They offer a variety of cake flavors, fillings, and beautiful designs to choose from. We chose a white cake with almond cream filling and an almond cake with cream cheese filling. Both were beyond my expectations. The flavors were perfect together and the cake was incredibly moist and soft. We had many guests mentioning how good the cake was! The final result was absolutely beautiful. I hadn't heard of DeEtta's until we began our wedding planning and they are on our radar now! We hope to try more of their pastries and baked goods in the future. I'm already looking forward to our 1 year anniversary cake. Thank you DeEtta's!

D'Ettas is somewhere I stop whenever I'm in the area. Everything I've had from there has been fabulous. The cinnamon rolls are my favorite - they're huge and can last for days in my house! (The only suggestion I'd have is they should have a tip jar for their employees!)

I was referred here by my aunt who's an event planner (shout out to Arnita's Elegant Events). I was feeling bummed because no other bakeries were available and my 40th birthday was in 2 days. This place was 15 minutes from my home, so I decided to give them a try. Not only were they able to fulfill my order in two days, but the cake was absolutely AMAZINGGGG!!! I asked for something cute and girly with pink and purple flowers. The cake turned out beautiful. The cake layers were so moist and delicious. The chocolate cake layer was probably the best chocolate cake I've ever had from a bakery. It tasted homemade, not the overly processed box stuff. Lastly, the buttercream was not too sweet and tasted like it was made with real butter. This was a great experience, 10/10! I will definitely be back. Thank you DeEttas Bakery!

Customer service was good! The owner and the man at the front were very friendly and accommodating. Treats were pretty good! I bought the tiramisu, lemon bar, and chocolate mint bar among other things. I also really liked the freshly filled cannolis.

It's that of year again. I wait patiently for months until fall arrives and I can order DeEtta's Cranberry Nantucket pie. I only eat it at Thanksgiving time, but I always hide the last of it and eat it in secret the day after. Greedy, I know. I've been to so many doughnut shops and DeEtta's is still my very favorite. I'm always disappointed when I eat doughnuts from other shops. They don't have any fancy flavors, but what they do have is perfection. I only wish I could eat them more often, but my health says otherwise. ;) FYI: Go early on Saturdays. They run low of the popular before noon.

I ordered a red velvet cake for my son's 14th B-Day, which is all he wanted for his birthday. The cake melted in our mouths, beyond delicious. I give it a 10 out of 10. I also purchased a strawberry filled and Bavarian cream doughnut (I think-I do not recall the exact names) Both 10 out of 10. My favorite was the homemade rye bread, reminded me of my polish grandmother's rye bread, beyond delicious. A 10 out of 10. The folks who I met over the phone and in person are down to earth and super nice. Thanks for making my son's 14th B-day super special!

Only reviewing doughnuts here. They have a beautiful variety of bakery, cookies, pies and doughnuts on certain days. I have had their doughnuts from the farmers market, the chocolate old fashioned. Remember them being very good so came to get some Christmas Eve. Line was very long which is a good sign. People who preordered got in sooner and was smart. I didn't have to wait too long. Was only getting doughnuts. Loved the selection. Cinnamon rolls are huge, they were nice and soft. I would have liked a little doughier but they were good. The cake doughnuts were strangely my favorite. A tiny bit on the dry side but not offensive. The frosting was extra thick and not too thin like some. Couldn't taste the maple on the maple cake. The chocolate filled I will pass on next time. The filling is too thick like a brownie or cake frosting. I would never snub too much but in this case I did. Took a bite and that was it. The old fashioned doughnuts were tasty too. not what I remembered but still good For proximity it's a good stop. I would give a 3.75 but that's not an option.Nice people working and lots to offer. Try it for yourself.

This is delicious! They had flourless chocolate cake that was amazing. They don't make it anymore. I wish they had more low and no sugar, low carb options!

Ummm I just had the best apple cider donut. I almost don't want to tell anyone so that I can have this place all to myself. The donuts from DeEtta's Bakery are big, soft, and full of flavor. They don't taste like they have a thousand ingredients either! I am a convert! I've had donuts from plenty of other places like Firecakes, Stan's, and such, but support local. DeEtta's has them beat on quality, price, and service. They also serve Modest coffee here. You can buy some to brew at home as well. I'm so happy to have a nice, down to earth donut place like this in the area, and I hope that more people support a place like this!

I see from all your one star reviews that they're all about rude service and a rude owner. Rather than taking feedback & apologizing for having an old man and a young girl behind the counter that didn't know what a cake was nor how to order it while whispering to each other and disappearing. (The young girl actually looked afraid to go back and ask someone a question.) you offer A BACKHANDED SLAM. Even less confidence now. Jewel made an awesome cake!!! The Jewel employee came out from behind the counter with an order form discussed what I wanted in the cake and it was ready and awesome when I picked it up on Sunday morning. Maybe you shouldn't put people behind the counter of your bakery that don't understand what a cake is or how to take an order for it. I drove 25 minutes to the bakery to check out the cannoli cake for my anniversary. What a waste of time. And your reaction shows me it was a waste of time I was right.

I came on a Monday looking for a Boston Kreme donut but I was told that they only have donuts in the weekends so that was sad. But she did say that the eclairs have the same filling but just different dough. I was hesitant to try, but she was very convincing, telling me how they were STUFFED with Kreme and super big and heavy. I'm so glad she talked me into it, because it was the best eclair I've ever had!! She wasn't kidding when she said they were big and heavy. It's huge and they do not skimp on the cream. They were completely filled with cream which I loved. I was never a huge fan of eclairs but DeEtta's eclairs are next level and have completely changed my viewpoint on them. The cinnamon rolls are HUGE. So I just had to pick one up. They were sweet and had good flavor but it was very dense and there was no way I could finish one. Definitely a good cinnamon roll, but I preferred the lighter creamy eclair over this thick and gooey heavy cinnamon roll. If you're in the area. You NEED to stop by and try an eclair. I will definitely be coming back for them!

My wife and I used DeEtta's Bakery for our wedding cake. To provide a little context where we got married the venue had an exclusively agreement with DeEtta's to provide our wedding cake. The cost of the wedding cake (and a one year anniversary cake) was built into our venue price. Overall, the cake was good not great. You could get a better cake for the same price elsewhere. The owner is rude to his own customers (which after reading all the reviews I now know is on brand for him). To start with some of the positives. The look and design of the cake was great. It was exactly what we had ordered. Overall the cake taste was just average. It was nothing extra special. I have had the same type of cake, but better in many other places in and around the city of Chicago. What could be improved; plain and simple the customer service. The owner who I spoke with multiple times was rude and disrespectful. Our main issue was that we wanted to try a variety of different cakes/fillings/icing that went past the 2-3 favors DeEtta's allowed. We called DeEtta's to gain clarity on how to move forward. After multiple rude phone calls and paying an additional charge per cake/filling our request was honored. Every conversation was met with the owner being nothing but argumentative and disrespectful. The other workers/staff we spoke with were very kind and helpful. My suggestion would be to add some additional communication about how to obtain additional favors in the original instructions. Our other issue was that the DeEtta's provided the cake tasting in a deconstructed format. Which essentially was just small cubes of cake and a few scoops of the filling/icing. While this some what accomplishes the taste component, it was difficult to envision what the full layered cake presentation would look like for our guests. Overall communication was poor. I really wanted to like DeEtta's especially because they are a local bakery. Additionally, I think it's important to note that they have acquired many exclusively agreements from multiple large wedding venues in the in the chicago land area. This essentially forces the bride/groom to utilize them as a vendor or pay hundreds more to go with a different vendor. I hope they can utilize this feedback to improve on their customer service. I will add additional notes to my review after our 1 year anniversary cake is fulfilled.

Great Bakery. We have been coming here for years. We purchased a Cinnamon Roll and kolaches today . Wow! A must try!

I wanted a 1/2 of kolachkis and came home with a doughy mound. Expensive at $20 a lb. Just as I'm about to tap my card, the charge says $1000. Huh? Unprofessional in all respects

We found this local bakery chance, and wished we had found it sooner!! We got the almond croissant, blueberry sweetie pie and cinnamon roll. Loved everything we got!! The cinnamon roll was the size of my face Will be back to try more!!!

Came to DeEtta's for the first time for Paczki Day and outstanding, well organized and was out the door quickly. The flavor selection was something, my favorite was the strawberry cream. Will definitely get more of those next year!

The pastries are some of the best I've tasted-- but the owners attitude is awful. I thought maybe she was having a bad day and went back a different time again-- but nope. As much as I love the pastries, I won't be supporting this business anymore.

In the past this bakery has been amazing. Always order Strawberry Cream Paczkis. This year the quality was disappointing. Two to three small slices of strawberry , a lot of good cream and nice pastry. I ordered 10. Four of them looked like the pic I am including. Sad.

One of my favorite bakeries ever! The cinnamon rolls are massive and more importantly DELICIOUS! Everything here is great! The bread, while not TERRIBLE is by far the least recommended item. The croissant cups, doughnuts, eclairs, Graham crackers, and marshmallows are all HIGHLY recommended.

Everything is delicious! Don't be intimidated by the lines. Everyone is so nice, and the line goes quickly. The Boston cream donut and the éclairs are amazing! They have the best Graham crackers, too! I will be back again and again!

We've had a lot of things from DeEtta's over the years. Over the top birthday cakes that were gorgeous and tasty. Delightful and beautiful petit fors, a favored birthday gift. Some of the best coffee in town. Stunning sour cream donuts. Last week I was lucky enough to win some apple cinnamon rolls from them and they were humongous and arguably the best cinnamon rolls we have ever had anywhere. I think they are a seasonal item, so don't miss out on enjoying these treats! They also have great coffee!

You might need to (sugar) rush over here before things sell out! I heard a lot of great reviews about this bakery so I decided to pick up a few goodies for my dad's birthday! I got the turtle cheesecake, lemon sour cream donut and Boston kreme donut and let me just say- holy SUGAR. I have a massive sweet tooth but these take the cake as one of the sweetest, but delicious, desserts I've had in a while. * cheesecake: the thickest cheesecake I've ever seen- yes it was thicker than Cheesecake Factory. I wish it had more graham cracker base but it was still amazing and so rich. / * donuts: these donuts are stuffed to perfection, huge, and flavorful! I preferred the Boston Kreme but I'll definitely swing by to try the other flavors. / They're only opened until 2 PM on the weekends so I highly urge you to go early! There was already a line around 10 PM.

Yum, yum, yum. We bought a sea salt chocolate chip cookie (think: tons of chocolate paired with sea salt), DeEtta bar (tastes like oats, chocolate, and coconut), Cardamon Pear Scone with sliced almonds, Blueberry Scone, Pumpkin Tart, Lemon Bar, and Herbed Butter. Let me warn that there was a line on a Saturday around noon of enthusiastic bakery fans and I am now one of them. The line moved pretty quickly as there were around 4 workers taking orders. All the sweets are fantastic! Compared to Whole Food pastries, way better! I'm a long time lover of home baked goods and next to making your own, this is it.
