A strong four-stars place, “Kaito” offers many Japanese inspired dishes. Some of them are quite pricey, but it is possible to find more affordable options. Stick to ramen and avoid sushi if you’re on a tight budget. In general it is a good Japanese restaurant as you would expect in Mexico City. Not great but quite suitable. Yet, the great secret about Kaito is its top-50-best-bars-in-North-America bar kind of hidden on the second floor. Comparing to international prices (in the US and the EU), cocktails are reasonably priced. Get ready to try some. Bartenders are good and most cocktails are built on the spot. Unfortunately, as a bar experience—particularly if you like sitting at the bar—it is virtually impossible to chat with the bartenders because they are always busy serving “regular” drinks for the whole restaurant—soft drinks, beer, regular alcoholic drinks, and even coffee and tea. They do not focus only on the cocktails.
