We love Deiter’s chocolates! The most delicious and beautiful truffles you will ever have. Highly recommend for gifts & as a treat for yourself 😊!

Google
Cute little chocolate store on Evans. They make all their products on the premises itself. The best part of this place is that they have these tiny packs of chocolates and candies ranging from $5-20. I think they r great for tasting or gifting as they have atleast 50 varieties of them. I haven't tried them and I am sure they taste great. They are happy to help and recommend.

Google
Wow!! What a selection of chocolate truffles! Many other homemade malt balls, bars and specialty items. Very friendly staff and cute store. Love it

Google
Convenient stop for a sweet gift in the DU area. Have not tried the chocolates myself but they look and smell delightful.

Google
First visit and came away with Sea Salt Bar and Dark Chocolate Pecan Turtles. Lots of mouth watering sweets which are equally pleasing to eye and palette.

Google
Nothing beats high quality, artisan chocolate. The buckeyes and toffee covered almonds are too die for. I spend $50 here every year for my birthday.

Susie Zimma (Mahala)

Google
This is a small family store. Their chocolates and fudge are not only hand made there, they are among the very best in the world. They have been in business fifty plus years. And in Wyoming! Thank God they ship! You cannot believe the fudge and the flavors! I really love this store.

Sara Hainsey

Google
I bought my mother these as a gift for my mother along with a box of truffles. I was so incredibly disappointed and APOLOGIZED to her for getting these as her gift. They were disgusting. They must be using old chocolate or less than quality ingredients. The white chocolate almond bar smelled bad, was chalky, and my mother described the taste of the almonds as rancid. In an attempt at redemptions we opened the truffles and needed a steak knife to get one cut in half…. I spent more than a pretty penny on these. I would not recommend buying chocolate from here.

Dave B.

Yelp
Solid chocolate bunnies. Friendly staff. Lots of delicious candy. We came, we perused, we spent money.

Tiffany N.

Yelp
One of my Yelp friends gifted me with a box of chocolates....because you know...life is like a box of chocolates! Holy cow, they were perfection! The dark chocolate truffles were just wonderful and I loved the flavor combinations like raspberry, peach and cayenne. Looking forward to visiting the shop and trying even more! I love supporting local, even more when it's chocolate!

Cheryl W.

Yelp
There is a wide assortment of sweet treats, so there's something for everyone. There are several different displays with cute decorations. The employees were very friendly and attentive. The packaging used for the truffles is so simple, yet so pretty. The truffles tasted as good as they look. My favorite might be the banana foster truffle!! The truffles are $3 a piece and they offer so many different flavors.

Yelp
I don't know how many times I had passed by this store in the past. After making a stop at the coffee shop right next door, I FINALLY stopped by this adorable chocolatier to check it out for the first time. And I'm happy to say that I enjoyed today's visit tremendously. What a large selection of chocolates they have! And everything is neatly placed and displayed. I simply had a hard time choosing as to what I'd get. Yup, you have to make at least several trips to get to know what the store sells but even after the several trips, you would only cover 30-40% (at the most) of their selection (is my assumption.) The lady at the counter was courteous and offered to assist me if needed; service is top-notch. I got me a bar of chocolate (thought I grabbed dark but ended up with milk; this was okay!); a few caramels; a few square truffles and a single square of some simple milk chocolate piece. The total came about $18 with some change. Not bad. Along with the cap I got from the next door coffee shop, I started to savor the two truffles in my car. Palisade Peach was phenomenal; Mango Chili was delicious, too but I liked the Palisade Peach better. And the decorative printing on top of the truffle pieces was simply a beautiful piece of art. At home, I had a few pieces of the milk chocolate bar (violet). The violet flavor was subtle and as such, I didn't taste it much but overall, this is a very delicious bar to say the least. I'd definitely try the rose flavor one next time (there was also blueberry lavender flavor one; there should be more I believe.) It's not just for yourself; it's a great place to buy some sweets as a gift! Great for holidays!

Jerry A.

Yelp
Great chocolates and nice staff. I tried the ruby chocolate which was great as is because of the nice color. The flavor was great too. It was fruity but not too sweet so it was perfect. No complaints.

Lindsey R.

Yelp
Chocolate is delicious! I got a box of truffles, coconut milk chocolate bark and my friend got gummy bears. Everything was delicious, the shop is adorable, and the woman working was very sweet. I will definitely be going back

Joseph O.

Yelp
What a treat! Bavarian recipe chocolate that is so unique and most of all deliscious! A perfect place for a gourmet chocolate fanatic.

John G.

Yelp
Best kept secret in DFW!' Great food and excellent service!!! We have a large group that gathers regularly and when we pick up from here it's always a hit and they bend backwards to accommodate our requests!!

Masha D.

Yelp
Wow. I'm super chocolate picky and I will totally be back. We got a lot of random stuff. The truffles were amazing. The peach rings were a surprise hit. The chocolate covered gummy bears were meh and kinda stale. But everything else we got made up for it. The chocolate bar with stuff in it makes me wishing I had another.

Adam R.

Yelp
Was looking for a local Chocolate company to buy my wife some chocolate for her birthday. Found Deiter's on Google. Took the train from downtown and was only a 10 minute walk from the University of Denver Station. Young lady behind the counter was sooo helpful!!! I told her what I was looking for and she took the time to switch out some chocolates to make sure I got one of each.... Prices were reasonable for gourmet chocolates. Same quality as you would get over in Europe! Found out they ship as well!

Michael H.

Yelp
Our favorite chocolate shop for the last 20 years! Birthdays, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas we shop here for delicious treats that are nearly always spectacular. There was a change of ownership perhaps five or 10 years ago, but they never skipped a beat. The new Deiters is probably even better than the old Dietrichs. Highly recommended.

Samantha C.

Yelp
This place was great! There were so many fun options. Great place to find a gift. I know my nieces and nephews will be thrilled with the elevated chocolate confections they will be receiving. Also, I am allergic to dairy and, while most dairy-free chocolate is a little subpar, Deiter's was absolutely delicious!! As if that wasn't enough, the staff was extremely friendly, personable and helpful.

Saira M.

Yelp
I've lived 3 minutes away from this place for three years and only *just* went on a random impulse chocolate craving. This place is *amazing*. It's really awesome to find food quality chocolate and sweets, because I notice I eat less of them and never feel gross afterwards. Their selection of flavors is amazing - AND they have MARZIPAN!!!!! Literally no other shop in the area has marzipan. Trust me. I've checked. If you have a sweet tooth, or need a last minute birthday gift, I highly recommend this place. You truly won't regret it!

Laura T.

Yelp
I can't recommend this shop enough for great holiday gifts! Who doesn't love chocolate?! And it's small batch chocolate from our local chocolatier! The setup was very inviting, with invigorating smells of chocolate. It was also 'Covid friendly'. I was greeted right away and helped as well. I wanted to buy some small gifts for our postman and garbage truck driver. It was recommended to buy these delicious chocolate covered Oreos. I actually found chocolate peppermint wreaths that worked beautifully. The payment was cashless and distanced for safety. I was so happy to find this little beauty as I navigate through this holiday season with small and local businesses in mind!

Andrea S.

Yelp
I was kindly gifted a box of 4 chocolates from Deiter's chocolates by a coworker. Boy, are they delicious! They remind me of the Swiss chocolates from my hometown that I like to gift myself. I have shared a mint chocolate (not usually my jam but this one was just delightful) and a raspberry chocolate (SO my jam and SO wonderful) with my husband. I will definitely be checking out Deiter's for myself and making them apart of my go to gifting.

Ronit M.

Yelp
We popped in after brunch to check it out. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and offered us a free sample of their hot pepper chocolate. At first bite I tasted the milk chocolate but then immediately after oooooof! I got a spicy kick and a cough. Almost sounded like a choking cough from the spiciness. My boo didn't want to try it after my guinea pig self experienced it like that. We walked out after perusing the store. Lots of bags of treats available for sale. Shop was clean and organized. Maybe next time I'd treat myself to something sweet! Happy shops!

Linda M.

Yelp
Excellent chocolate and variety. Friendly staff. Independently owned. Have been going there for 15 years. Was owned by another person before and the quality has remained excellent

Priyanka S.

Yelp
They had some great options. Walked in and was a impromptu fun date night stop. Cute shop

Christopher L.

Yelp
What a joy to have a locally owned, native chocolate shop here in Denver that offers such a delicious array of hand made goodies! They have wine and chocolate pairing events and this really unique whiskey barrel coffee (also brewed in Colorado) on tap that you can also get mixed in with their new treat, a Frozen Hot Chocolate that they're launching this weekend (you can buy the mix to make it at home, too). My personal favorite is the Marzapan and the Sea Salt Caramel Turtles that just hit all the notes you want in a decadent treat that's still not overpowering so you can feel good about having a second one, or a sixth one. Adrienne, the chocolatier, has an artist's touch and it shows through in all the products she makes on site. I don't bother with national chocolate chains after finding this neighborhood jem.

Frann B.

Yelp
One of my friends recommended this place. I ordered online a 9 piece gift box for someone. I tried their chocolate for the first time and fell in love! They offer lots of choices of chocolate delights. Wine is also sold. Everything is made in house. They have a display case where you can select dark or sweet chocolate. They even have chocolate covered pretzels! The owner and staff are very welcoming and offer amazing suggestions. This place is worth the visit for any occasion. Stop in, you won't be disappointed! Oh, it's a mom and pop shop!

Heather T.

Yelp
Oh do I love chocolate. It is a passion and calling for me to sample as much of the stuff as I can get my hands on. I dashed in here right before they closed one Saturday night. The employee was really nice and we chatted about food while I made my selections. Overall this is tasty chocolate. I went with a variety of flavors with their truffles. The chocolate was well tempered and high quality. My only feedback was that some of the flavors weren't all that pronounced so I wasn't sure which one I was eating.

Allison K.

Yelp
This was our first visit to Deiters and we had high hopes. Unfortunately, our experience did not reflect the previous yelp reviews. The chocolate was pretty good, I'll say that, but the service was awful. Absolutely no help was given nor was my family and myself even acknowledged when we walked in. My mom was trying to find some dark chocolate without nuts and asked the young girl behind the counter for help and since she was not able to come up with anything, she asked the owner who was sitting directly behind a wall for help. The courteous thing would have been to come out and help us personally (since there was no one else in the store) but instead, they stayed behind the wall conversing for a solid 3 minutes when we finally gave up and bought what we already had picked out. Maybe an off day since the previous reviews were great, but each customer should feel welcomed and assisted. We won't be back for that reason.

Yelp
20 years ago I was a recently relocated broke graduate student living in someone's basement. Everytime I walked to D.U. for classes I would pass Deiter's (formerly Dietrichs). One day, feeling nostalgic for Ethel M's (my hometown choice) I made a decision to go inside and check it out and 20 years ago I fell in love. From the moment I walked into the shop for the first time and saw the variety of small treats I was hooked. And that was before tasting what is the best chocolate I've ever had. What started as a curiosity visit turned into a regular biweekly occurrence. I love dark chocolate and theirs is the best. Hands down. Fast forward to a couple of years ago. I always get Christmas gifts at the shop. It's a great place for teacher's gifts too. Well, I rolled up to the shop and there was a note informing customers that after a long run they were going out of business. WHAT??? NOOO!!! Everyone and their mother had to listen to me ramble on about it for well over a month. Friends bought me sympathy Dietrich's chocolate for Christmas. I supervise DU interns and they had to hear me give them unsolicited advice about how they can't be at a school that close to Dietrich's and not stop in. It hit me hard. And then....and then a miracle happened and the shop was bought by someone who had worked alongside Dietrich and learned the craft. The shop was opening up under a new name. But would it be nearly as good? Impossible! I'm happy to say that it's the same. Same amazing chocolate. Same favorites that I have always loved (Bavarian Pretzels dipped in dark chocolate, dark chocolate almonds clusters, dark chocolate sea salt caramels, toffee...) and now online ordering. Unfortunately with the online ordering I was shorted a few things from my recent order. My husband picked up and didn't know what I had ordered and hadn't checked. I was a little panicked thinking about how to get back across town during a really hectic week to get the items in time for teacher's gifts. And I was also panicked about it being my word against theirs that I was missing quite a bit. Thinking they were closed on Mondays (I feel like they used to be) I sent an email. I received a great response and the person responding said it was their mistake and they would be hand-delivering the items to my HOME. That is supreme customer service. It turned out that there was a change in my schedule and I was able to get back over there. They slipped me some extras to make up for the mistake. Again, great service and made me like they really care about their customers!

Lindsey K.

Yelp
I am so happy my husband stumbled on this place when he was having brunch at Jelly. My first intro was a healthy assortment of chocolate and jelly fruits that "Santa" put in my stocking. Everything was so delicious that I made it a point to go check out the shop in person. It's adorable and smells like chocolate heaven. It's fairly small, so you won't be overwhelmed. I believe it to be impossible to make a bad choice here. Though I love their chocolates, I think my most favorite thing is their Sugar Plum fruit gems. They come in a big bag that I cannot stop eating. They have multi-flavor bags of classic flavors, but the Sugar Plums are a must. Definitely give this sweet spot a try.

Alisa T.

Yelp
Our first experience here was amazing. They have two cases with chocolate truffles and turtles. They offer wine to pair with their chocolate. They have a good variety of chocolate covered fruits, Graham crackers, nuts, bars, etc... Their pricing is very reasonable: 4 pack $6 5 pack $7 6 pack $9 I can't remember any pricing higher than those packages. Wine is decently prices. $17 for a bottle of cabernet. Matt (I believe is his name) was very helpful and informative. He also gave us a flyer that explains their chocolate and pairing class. $30 per person. Wednesday's and Saturdays at 6:15 pm. We can not wait to attend.

Lauren B.

Yelp
deiters is a pretty unique little shop with tons of goodies. I bought a sizable amount of candy for my gift baskets at work and everyone has been very impressed. The chocolate is fresh and the candy bars are awesome. One of the candy bars I purchased had whole Oreos in it and another had potato chips. Absolutely worth checking out especially if you are looking to give someone a special gift.

Susan D.

Yelp
Deiter's was a long standing Denver business before the new chocolatier took it over. When we heard the new management would keep the business going we were thrilled ( and relieved). And she is doing a fabulous job. We always stop here when we're in town. Everything I've had a Deiter's is beyond wonderful. If you have not tried the seafoam confection, you have not lived. But then there are the chocolate covered pretzels, and the dipped apricots, and the truffles. You'll just have to try it all....

Nancy J.

Yelp
Unfortunately a grey haired woman was so rude, and so not interested that I will not go back. Sad as the former owner was such a joy and the shop was a favorite for my entire family going back generations. Dissatisfied on so many levels, just not nearly what it use to be.

Caro C.

Yelp
Absolutely delightful boutique chocolate shop. Extremely high quality chocolate, and the store sells a wonderful variety of sweet treats, wine, coffee, and holiday-themed chocolates and candies.

Matt C.

Yelp
Ah chocolate, the finest of treats that goes good with everything. Walking into Deiter's the first thing you notice is a plethora of chocolate truffles. They have dark, milk, white and tons of flavors. From a chili truffle, to sea salt, to honey and cinnamon (my personal favorite). Oh and the turtles, don't forget the amazing turtles. The best part is that they make them all onsite. They're also locally owned which is a huge plus in my book, and have partnered with breweries in the area such as Declaration (they had some beer truffles too). They also carry some other products, and chocolates bars from various regions. There are also some fantastic caramels that I'm told they get from somewhere in Wyoming, and they're some of the best I've ever had. They've definitely become my go-to place when I need a sweet snack (or get in trouble with my fiancé). Their owner Adrienne is also very nice and does various chocolate classes (what brought me in, and really gave me a chance to try a lot of their stuff). I still have a box I'm working on, but once it's gone I'll definitely be back for more.

Nicole P.

Yelp
My super sweet husband sent these to me. The best chocolate ever. So sweet with out being over the top. I'm trying not to eat all these chocolates in one sitting. SO GOOD

Jillian G.

Yelp
Great chocolates and very cute store. I randomly found this chocolate store and thought I would get people some additional Christmas gifts. However, service wasn't great. An older lady with gray hair was checking people out and very rude to all the customers that came into the store. The lady checking out in front of me was just commenting on how it was great they've been so busy and the lady checking her out cut her off and starting talking over her. Then when I was checking out I felt like ringing me up was such an inconvenience and she was rude to me when I couldn't hear what she said at one point. I'm not sure sure if she was having a bad day or if this is how the service is, but this chocolate store was too far out of my way to come back again.

Lesley A.

Yelp
We are so spoiled having our own artisan chocolate maker in my Denver neighborhood. While Deiter's appears to be new, it is the wonderful second "generation" of the former Deitrich's chocolate that was here for 40 years. We all cried with Deitrich's closed for retirement, but we saw the signs that one of the previous Deitrich's employee and apprentice of 15 years would be reopening in the same spot. Crisis averted! I now have my local source for Turtles and all chocolate goodness. Deiter's is open with an adorable remodel - I really love the new open space. My tip - this is my only source for teacher's gifts, Valentine's Day, special gifts...and, the Easter Bunny always decides to pick up chocolate locally here. And compared to many of the boutique chocolate shops, the prices are really reasonable.

Coni S.

Yelp
There are no words for how much I love this place, the chocolates, the people, the cute store... Oh- and chocolates are so good they may need a restraining order to keep me from moving in. There is a lot of attention to detail, no rushed feeling when you go in and a selection to fit every persons palate. Go here. Be happy. Eat chocolate and then take some home to share.

Heather M.

Yelp
An amazing local chocolate shop! My son's only request when I visited Denver was a sweet treat. My friends I was visiting said this was the best in town and I believe it. The employee working was efficient and friendly, helping me with a hand selected box of truffles to share with friends. They were delicious, every kind, including dark chocolate chai and earl gray. I took my husband a dark chili chocolate bar and he loved it. I got my son some pectin fruit gems that he said were the best "gummies" he'd ever had. Not cheap but worth every penny.

monikA G.

Yelp
This beautiful shop is located in the adorable DU neighborhood. The chocolates are so yummy and they have a huge variety!

Natalie R.

Yelp
Best chocolate cashew turtles ever!! The chocolate here is what dreams are made of. Can't wait to go back!!

Jim G.

Yelp
Great store! They have a white chocolate pistachio bar tgat us epic! Great staff, very knowledgeable. And they gave beer, I did not try it though!

Adrianne H.

Yelp
I used to come here all the time in the early 2000's when I was in grad school at DU and had a chance to pop in this week, with my kids in tow, eager to show them an old favorite of mine that is wonderfully still thriving and in business! If I was rating solely based on quality of chocolate and deliciousness it would be a five completely. However, we all know service is equally important as the product quality and the service is why I'm giving 3 stars. By the door there was a huge rack of flavored candy sticks (like candy canes but sticks) and I told my kids to each choose one and while they looked over the flavor options I busied myself grabbing chocolates to buy. My daughter who is 7 and very respectful and conscientious came over and whispered that a candy stick had fallen out by accident and broke and she felt terrible I turned to the person behind the counter and said oh sorry this broke and figured she'd throw it away (dollar value less than $2) and instead she said well did it fall by itself or was it dropped? My daughter said I accidentally dropped it and she high fives my daughter for being honest told me she'd bag it for me and proceeded to ring me up for it. I was flabbergasted. Here I was ready to drop serious money (for a chocolate shop standards) and was being charged for this?? These people need to go to business school. Instead of the $100 I was planning to spend, with a sour taste in my mouth I quickly paid for everything in my hands ($29) and got the heck out of there. And instead of posting all over social media how awesome they are I'm writing this review and complained to everyone i ran into about how they clearly don't understand common business sense or being a kid friendly or gracious environment.

K. M.

Yelp
I work nearby and come here every week for a bag of sour candies (for the husband) and five assorted turtles for me (I eat one every day after lunch). I buy chocolate from here as gifts. It's especially great that they have dairy free chocolate for those dairy free people in my life. Matthew also provides great customer service, and love the samples they have out during the day. For as long as I'm in Denver, I'll keep stopping by every week (sometimes twice a week...).

Scott K.

Yelp
Wonderful local place for chocolates in its second incarnation. Just sent some truffles to friends in Phoenix who used to live here. They were overjoyed to get the classic collection of truffles. Delivery was quick.

Miranda M.

Yelp
I've only been a couple times, but I absolutely love this place! The store is wonderful, the lady that works there is always so nice and helpful, and the chocolates are amazing!

Donna B.

Yelp
What a fabulous Bunny delight this Easter!!! Excellent cherry cordials - best I've had in a long time. Highly recommend this chocolatier on Evans.

Liz P.

Yelp
Deiter's Chocolates can be summed up in one word...SCRUMPTIOUS!! These chocolates are a step above any chocolates I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and stop by their Evans Ave. store or order something online. You won't regret it!

Satchi F.

Yelp
This shop reminds me of the little chocolate shops in Europe. Delicious, hand made, artisan treats obviously crafted by people who truly care. Wonderful people. Beautiful atmosphere. A delightful little nook to get lost in.

Gabe D.

Yelp
Loved it when it was Dietrich's glad to see it lives on as Deiter's. Went there for some Valentine's Day chocolates, same great quality as before. I just wish it was closer to my house.
