Dejavu - Review - West Village - New York - The Infatuation

"From the team behindAquarelle, Dejavu is a swanky looking Mediterranean restaurant in the West Village where you can eat some lemon spaghetti with caviar in the dining room, or sip on a fancy cocktail in a space called the Red Room. It’s also open late—tables are available to reserve until 2am." - Willa Moore

The steak carpaccio was AMAZING. The yellow fin was also very nice as an appetizer. For dinner I had the branzino and really liked the sauce on it. I finished my meal with a date sticky pudding dessert. It was the perfect amount and not too sweet. I would recommend coming here for a cute date spot or a romantic vibe.

I had such a great experience here! The atmosphere was warm and stylish, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Everything I tried was delicious and beautifully presented. It’s definitely one of those places you want to come back to again and again. Highly recommend!

Dejavu was honestly a really solid spot. The music was good, the space felt comfortable, and it was easy to enjoy the night without feeling overwhelmed. Drinks were well made and the overall vibe was just right for hanging out with friends.

From the atmosphere to the service, everything was thoughtfully done. The food exceeded my expectations especially the presentation, which was excellent. The staff is attentive without ever being intrusive, which really makes the place stand out. Definitely a spot I’d return to, both for dinner and drinks afterward. One of the best spot in NYC!

Visited Dejavu for New Year’s Eve. We where told it was 307 per person, tax and tip included. They charged us double that amount. Besides this, the food was mediocre at best. We got a 5-course meal, each being a tiny bite. Worst plates where the burrrata and tuna tartare. The dessert was supposed to be a lava cake, and instead got a dry banana pudding with ice cream and blue berries (see picture). The pre-fixed menu included a pairing of cocktails and open bar. The cocktails where quite delayed and variable in quality. The fist round of cocktails was okay, the second round of cocktails came in hour later and there were prepared in a different way (and quite poorly). The overall experience was bad. Very packed room, a burlesque dancer that struggled to get around the room, and extremely slow and bad quality food. It seems the entire evening was improvised and the value for the cost was ridiculously high. To top it off, all our group is in disputes the get the extra charged money back.

Yelp
I am here right now and it's been 1 hour since arriving and ordering our drinks and we're just starting to get our drinks. They told us we can't order regular martinis we can only order what's printed on the menu... what? We've been trying to order food for 30 minutes and the servers are completely ignoring us. It's a shit show here do not come. They're clearly unprepared
