2019 Boston-Area Restaurant Closures | Eater Boston

"The upscale bar-and-grill chain Del Frisco’s Grille announced the difficult decision to close several locations nationwide, including the Burlington and Chestnut Hill restaurants (which were set to close on October 20), while other area locations such as the Westwood site were reported to remain open." - Eater Staff

Del Frisco’s Grille Closing Burlington and Chestnut Hill Locations | Eater Boston

"Reports indicate the Westwood Del Frisco’s Grille will reportedly remain open while the Burlington and Chestnut Hill locations close on October 20; no additional comment from the Westwood location is included in the article. The mention frames Westwood’s status within the same corporate context of L Catterton’s recent acquisition of the restaurant group and the announced sale of the Del Frisco’s brands to Landry’s." - Terrence Doyle

The service I received from Richie and Andrea was fantastic. I walked from a restaurant across the parking lot after not receiving service for over 20 minutes. When I walked into DFG, Richie greeted me and sat me. Andrea came through a short while later and engaged in the menu with me, helping me choose the perfect meal. Richie popped back up and also asked how everything was. The food was amazing and the service was even better. Thank you for helping me to leave full and very satisfied.

Went there for my 40th birthday. We assumed it would be a nice restaurant experience but when we got there, we were immediately given such a terrific, warm welcoming and were taken great care of by the manager, Alex, and our server, Sloan. Atmosphere was upscale but not too fancy, food was amazing from start to finish. This place goes above and beyond to give you the best dining experience possible. We live out of state or this would be our go-to for any special occasion!

Google
I went dinner for a birthday dinner and honest it was okay, I didn’t see many menu items I liked. If you are curious DON’T try the mac and cheese. I really liked the Ahi Tacos from the appetizer. The salmon was okay it was a little bland for my liking, but it was cooked perfectly. The mash potatoes were also very bland. The free pretzel bread was really good, but that butter was something I never want to taste ever again in my life. However, the environment was very nice and I really like our server she was very nice and helpful as well as this other young gentleman that worked there they were great!

Google
We celebrated our daughter’s birthday tonight. Our meal was phenomenal! We all had the filet for dinner and it never disappoints. Our waiter was Sloan and he was fantastic. Gave us great recommendations on drinks, apps and food.

Google
I came down with friends to this place, and it was really good. Their crab cake was really good, and so were the roasted egg rolls. I got the fillet mignon, and it was really good. The hand-smashed golden potatoes and the crispy Brussels were really good. The cheesecake was alright. It is a great place for big groups.

Google
Del Frisco's Grille is an American food restaurant with a more upscale vibe and food featured. Staff were friendly, though as other reviews indicate, can take a while if they are swamped. Food did come out quick out though, and overall the experience was pleasant. We tried multiple dishes, and the food was alright. They were cooked to perfection, had nice presentation and taste, and the flavor was good. The price for the portion was a bit small in my opinion, but the food overall was alright.

Google
The meat was so tender and tasty, and I could eat it with a dislocated jaw, which shows you how NOT chewy it was. The place is gorgeous, in a location without a ton of other food and right next to a hotel and train stop, so that nice, and fully accessible. I was frustrated that the online ordering didn’t work (an error kept popping up), and that no one answered the phone, though, when I arrived, the place was empty, and employees were standing around chatting. Instead of being able to order and just pop in to pick up, I had to come in and order and wait. That was annoying. I placed my order and waited. The wait wasn’t too long, but a family came in while I was waiting for my food at the bar, and no one greeted or help them for some time. They finally came to the bar and asked me “is anyone working?! We’ve been waiting here for a while!” I said “yes,” and pointed to a group of employees chatting near the kitchen. One of the guys went to the back to get someone from that group to staff the front. She went right away, but that felt unprofessional. The food was good. Employees were friendly.

Google
Let’s start with the lighting: think school cafeteria vibes. Absolutely no ambiance. Service didn’t fare much better. Our server forgot to put in our appetizer order, and after waiting far too long, we gave up and moved straight to entrées. Three of us received our cocktails in a reasonable amount of time, while the fourth arrived a full 15 minutes later. The pacing of the meal was slow, and when the food did arrive, it was hit-or-miss. The steak burger—ordered to split—was cooked correctly but oddly firm, and the fries were cold and hard. The lone standout was the wedge salad, which was genuinely delicious. The toughest part was that our waiter knew things were going sideways but couldn’t seem to recover. Despite his visible struggle, no manager ever checked in, even though the restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived at 6 p.m. I wish I could give a better review, but I can’t. I would not return to the Westwood University Ave location.

Yelp
3.5 stars My friends and I planned to come here for dinner on a Friday. One of my friends made a reservation just to be safe but I think you might be good to walk in if you did not plan ahead. We were seated at a booth, which was extremely comfortable and I liked that it was raised so we were almost eye level with our waitress which makes communication easier. We started off with two appetizers: the cheesesteak eggrolls and the sticky garlic ribs. The cheesesteak egg roll portion was smaller than I was expecting for the price and it was the first time I had seen it cut this way, making it look more like bone marrow. It was delicious though but I do wish it came with a dipping sauce of some sort. The sticky garlic ribs were also good with very tender meat, but I did not taste too much of the garlic flavor because the Gochujang Honey Glaze sauce was overpowering. I liked the flavor of the sauce, it was very sweet, savory, and thick. For my entrée, I went with the black angus steak frites. I thought the fries would be a bit thinner, but they were decent nonetheless. I should have asked for a different dipping sauce besides the ketchup it came with for more flavor. The steak itself did not impress me; it lacked flavor, was a bit tough, and did not have that grilled, charred flavor I was hoping to get. The chimichurri sauce did help but I wish there was more of it. Overall the food was good, but I am being more critical since it is more expensive than some places, and is a restaurant that has a reputation of delivering quality food. There is plenty of parking and the staff is really friendly and hospitable. The bathrooms have really nice napkins, almost too good where you feel bad using them.

Yelp
3.5 stars. We had reservations for 815pm. They sat us at 840pm and didn't take any drink orders until 920pm. They were NOT packed, just poor service. Once we notified the manager, the pace picked up. The ambiance is very nice with modern, clean and chic decor. Dress code is casual to dressy. Steaks were cooked to our orders but a little under season. The garlic herb butter helped the flavor but still needed a sprinkling of salt. Asparagus was cooked in butter and needed more season. Truffle Mac and cheese definitely needed a lot of seasoning. Brussels sprouts with bacon Lardo were tasty and crispy. Wedge salad with blue cheese dressing and bacon was good; great amount of dressing. I could've done without the Philly cheesesteak eggrolls. The presentation was off putting with the random splatters of sauces on the plate and when did Thai chili dipping sauce go with Philly cheesesteak? Had to ask multiple times for refills on water and soda.

Yelp
2.5 stars. Went here for a work dinner. Had the private room, and it was nice ambience. Servers were kind, fine, but pretty slow. I felt like we were there forever. It was kind of a prix fixe menu with pepperoni flatbread served family-style as the appetizer. It was good, probably the best part of the meal. We had two choices for the dessert and I had a chocolate torte with strawberry sauce and it was pretty good. Cesar salad as one of the salad options was fine. The vegetarian option out of the four main options was AWFUL. It was just labeled "vegetarian pasta" and it was literally just rigatoni, some veg, oil and some ribbons of basil. Again, it was fine, but so basic. The pasta was something I would've cooked badly in my early twenties. Way overcooked, broken pieces, stuck together. Portions were big, which would've been good if the food was good, but I didn't finish anything I was served. Also, there was some sewage issue so it smelled awful as you got closer to the bathrooms. Women's room was fine but only one person could go in at a time. Will never return.

Yelp
BEWARE!!!!!! I wish I could give 0 stars. The restaurant was half empty on a Friday night. We waited 30-40 minutes for 2 drinks from the bar.'yes you read that right. We got our appetizer before our drinks the steak and cheese eggs rolls. Ice cold and covered in a chili Sauce to mask the flavor of the microwave. We didn't get our entrees for an hour after the appetizer. I wish we left. Everything was bland and cold. Poor service way too long for anything and no updates or check ins. Awful. 0/1000'recommend. I would pay not to go back.

Yelp
Celebrated a birthday dinner at Del Frisco's Grille and had a fantastic experience. We were seated right away, and the atmosphere was perfect--lively but not too noisy. The menu was pretty similar to the main Del Frisco's, but the food did not disappoint. Everything was delicious, and I'll definitely be back for another visit!

Yelp
Came for the rigatoni bolognese- was told it was phenomenal, the best dish there! It was yellow, though, which for me was an off-putting color. It tasted like mac n cheese and a real bolognese had a baby. It rather expensive and the portion size was fine but not enough for leftovers. Service was nice and the place was nice as well, but it wasn't my favorite place. Probably wouldn't go back unless I was specifically in the area.

Yelp
Zamirah was our server and it was a very nice experience! She made such a delicious Femme Fatale cocktail! Sean, the manager , was so personable and welcoming. He really did a great job of making us feel welcome and genuinely seemed to care that we had a very good experience. The hostess was also very sweet. The happy hour specials are an unexpected incredible deal! The flatbread, wings, ahi tuna tacos, and ribs were standouts. The wonderful manager, server, hostess, food, and drink, will keep us coming back!

Yelp
I couldn't give it a 2.5. Mid-December I needed a snack after a successful day of holiday shopping, I came here. It was just about 4:45/5 so folks were packing in after work. Regardless, my friend and I were seated immediately by the lovely hostess. Our waitress was named, Jessica (I believe) and had purple hair. We were celebrating a milestone for my friend so we got a couple rounds of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. When my friend asked for a mocktail, our waitress told us they didn't have those and couldn't make the drinks on the menu a mocktail. The shutting down of requests by our waitress continued throughout the evening. My friend went to the bar to ask for a mocktail that the bartender happily made. We ordered the shrimp cocktail, spinach dip, Caesar salad (not pictured), and the herbs shrimp. All of the food was pretty good, except the herbed shrimp was bland and needed additional seasoning. The spinach dip was the best thing to us. The drinks were ok. I wish this experience was a better one.

Yelp
Service was terrible. We had A reservation for 5 people. But it seemed like no one thought we were coming. It took 2 mins to check in and get seated. Then it took a full 15 mins to meet our waiter. I had actually gone to ask for a manager when the waiter arrived. The manager never came to address this issue. The website lists apps for $10 each from 3 to 6. Turns out that doesn't exist, if you are at a table. Doesn't say that anywhere. No problem. We move on. The specialty cocktail was more syrup less cocktail - old fashion. Way too sweet. Ok next. Chicken wings and tuna tacos good. Cheesesteak wontons. Not good. Milk for the kids. Didn't have it. But sent out for it. Who knew there would be a run on milk. ... Next! .... My the time the side dishes arrived ( mash and Brussel sprouts) my wife had finished her filet. They were tasty though. Del frisco double eagle in the seaport is our favor Resturant in town. This isn't that. I am all done with this place Which is disappointing

Yelp
Bonanza Steak, Elite Prices. Went this evening and ordered onion soup and a NY Strip with mushrooms. My guest had the salmon. All of it came at once and the soup without a spoon for 15 minutes. The steak was a smaller NY strip but at $54 wasn't stellar. The mushrooms were lukewarm with some actually cold as if they were out of some food warmer tub. Awful with pretentiousness. But the lemon butter creme cake was beyond awful. It had more fridge taste than lemon. We left half of it there. All tolled, $180 for a miserable experience.

Yelp
Del Frisco's is my new favorite steakhouse! My boyfriend and I decided to try this place for dinner last Saturday at the suggestion of a friend. We are sure glad we did. Everything about our experience was exceptional. The food was mouth- watering delicious. We shared the cheese steak egg rolls as an appetizer (we highly recommend these!) and we both ordered the Braised Short Rib for our entree, which was so tender it fell off the bone. We also tried the butternut squash bisque and a side of Brussel sprouts with bacon. Yum! Our server Katie was very helpful and right on point with making great suggestions for what to order. She really made us feel at home. The ambience is trendy and upscale and the booths are spaced far enough apart so that you have your own privacy. I appreciated that our food came out quickly even though they were busy. Thank you for making our Saturday evening so enjoyable. We will definitely be back! Food: 5 stars Service: 5 stars Ambiance: 5 stars

Yelp
I lived in NYC when Del Frisco's opened across from Radio City Music Hall. The one at the Seaport I have been to countless times, albeit not for at least 10 years. This place? Not even close to the same restaurant. It was not crowded and service was terribly slow. We ordered appetizers and there is no way the crab cake and cheese curdles I ordered were not frozen items. ZERO chance there were prepped after ordering. More like "TGIF Del Friscos". I honestly wish I went to the American Joes bar next door instead.

Yelp
Del Frisco's is always a solid meal and experience. We go here a few times per year since it is on the pricier side. The filet is done to perfection. The brussels sprouts were really good, definitely recommend. The mashed potatoes were very garlicy, which is not my thing. We did celebrate with a chocolate torte which might be my favorite. They put a candle in it since they knew we were celebrating. I would not personally bring my kids here since it's on the pricey side and I want to enjoy my meal. I did see other kids there and seems kid friendly.

Yelp
Poor attention to detail and service. Improper systems in place to properly care for customers. The manager was quick to replace our food order, but showed little in the way of remorse for improper excicution.
google avatar

Tim S.

Yelp
This place needs a lot of work. The lighting is way too bright. They did not offer a bread basket (said they were out of bread, Wegmans is literally across the street. Shrimp tasted like bleach. Waited 20 minutes for cocktail in empty restaurant and then brought me entirely wrong drink. Nothing was great. For the same price ($500 for 4 people) go to Capital Grill in Dedham. It will knock your socks off. This is no better than Applebees.

BAC B.

Yelp
It's been over a month since Del Frisco's employee overcharged my credit card. After speaking with them and giving them all the info they have yet to reimburse the fraudulent extra charge on my credit card. I guess they are ok with their employees stealing from customers. I'm currently working it out with my credit card company. I would avoid this location.
google avatar

Joseph B.

Yelp
We love the atmosphere, yet the quality of the food is average and over priced. Wedge Salads should be at least a quarter of a head of large lettuce, not a 1/5 of a baseball. 2nd time this has happened. Clearly no quality control on the kitchen. $16 for a 1/5 wedge, $18 for the steak. Go figure

Lisa B.

Yelp
I was there dec 17th 2024 at 630pm . The two Brunette bartenders. Ignored me and my friend when we were sitting at the bar stood right infront of us and blatantly ignored us. Their was a staff change in the last 6months it is awful! The service was fast . When i went last new years i had a really nice hispanic waitress!

Anthony D.

Yelp
Waited 2 1/2 hours to get food then proceeded to give the wrong order then to make it worse no plates, water, paper towels. Steak was pink aswell as the burger. Gave the wrong food multiple times.Service was horrendous on how bad it was. Was there from 6-9 just waiting for food. Automatic Posting! That's a real embarrassment. Do not recommend it for anyone especially if wanting good food. Seriously went downhill. Management hit in the back.

Marie H.

Yelp
Wow, this place serves up very below average food and such comically inattentive service, you had to laugh! But someone gave me a generous gift cert, so had to go. I blame, what are obviously low corporate standards, and bad training. No wonder place couldn't stay open in Chestnut Hill. Would never go back and would never recommend.

Nathan G.

Yelp
We've been here a couple of times. Typically OK, but nothing special. Went on Saturday and my wife's ribeye was very overcooked (supposed to be medium rare) and she added the lobster tail, which was tiny and burnt. Spare ribs were actually pretty good (I decided to try something other than a steak since I've never been impressed) and Brussels Sprouts were good. Also, our wine was good, but I ordered a second glass before they brought our entres and I didn't finally get it until after we were both done eating. Our reservation was for 5:30 and the place was pretty empty and our waitress stopped by 3 times to tell me she hadn't forgotten about my wine, but it took over 20 minutes to finally get to the table. If going out for steak in the area, Capital Grill at Legacy is so much better.

Rosalie S.

Yelp
I was at the Westwood one for lunch with a friend a few days ago. I had the chicken, which was not bad, there were no carrotts, came with mashed potatoes. I dislike when a restaurant does not allow you to substitute the potatoes got another vegetable. Especially when I need to be careful with carbs. If they will not allow a swap, it is not for me. Prices were not too bad, service was OK.. I am not sure they make everything on site, I think some is brought in pre frozen

Julaine M.

Yelp
What a great experience!! The food was excellent!! We had perfectly cooked onion soup, flatbread fig pizza and an amazing Winter Citrus Burrata Salad, followed by a perfectly cooked dry aged burger with blue cheese (a special add for us!) With aiola sauce. Yummy! The manager Sean was attentive and incredibly knowledgeable about wine (and really nice guy!). Our waitress Ava was so nice!! She was friendly and very helpful in selecting our meal choices. We ended the meal with a luscious chocolate and a new york cheese cake. The cocktails were delicious! We chose the classic old fashion. We will be back!!! Thank you Sean and Ava!!

Rachel M.

Yelp
Ummmmm Sorry but this place is AWFUL! Ordered "1/2 roasted chicken with caper chimichurri" got 1/4 of a chicken, totally dry, ONE caper . "Loaded baked potato" for $15 had a light sprinkle of cheese and bacon and tiny dollop of sour cream. Serving sizes terrible, quality not good- chicken dry- just no effort put into these meals. And this is definitely one of many times I've have this experience.

Yelp
What a great place! Super friendly. Fantastic food especially the plant based vegetarian chicken. Great place to hangout with friends, family and coworkers. Last but certainly not least, Stacey! Stacey is the most amazing, friendly and just a great person you will ever meet, plus she is the bartender. I may move to Boston just to help her close the bar every night? Stacey, thank you for being you and yes "bitches be crazy". . Don't waste your time going anywhere else. You want great food, great service and great people. THIS IS YOUR PLACE!

Yelp
Worth the wait! I took my best friend here last night for her birthday. It was impromptu so we didn't make reservations and had about an hour wait. When we were seated, the restaurant was vibrant and buzzing. Our server was as very attentive and gave great service throughout our meal. We started off with the steak and cheese egg rolls which were just ok. My friend got the corn bisque and said it was good. I ordered the seared sesame tuna which was raw and delicious. Got the truffle mac and cheese which was tasty. My friend got a steak and brussel sprouts which she enjoyed. The waitress was nice enough to comp the lemon cake my friend ordered for desert and she brought it out with a candle which was a nice touch. I would go back and recommend.

Yelp
Your location in Chestnut hill was awesome before you closed it and we visited it several times over the years. Yesterday we went to your Westwood Mass. location As we sat down there first was a swam of staff, one came said she was not our server , then someone took extra dishes, etc off the table, then the server. We were in no hurry so we ordered our drinks, then asked if we were ready to order...we said o. Once the drinks came again asked if we were ready to order. We were not Watching other tables we saw food coming out fast, so we ordered a salad. Do you want to order your meal. No Then the salad came in minutes...asked again ready to order, no Ordered soup, same question again same answer from us, no All this within the first 30-40 minutes We then ordered our meal Onion rings were cold...sent back got hot ones Steak was only warm, cold within 10 minutes...we ate the cold meat. OVERALL: Turning tables the goal here. Food quality not worth the $150.00 we spent. Cold steak in a steak place should be embarrassing Cold onion rings...cooked prior to our order, probably! We do not recommend this DelFrisco's. We will go to Capital Grill for our next steak meal. Your call! 2 stars a gift.

Yelp
Del Frisco's Grille treats people with discrimination. My husband and I went there for dinner. The hostess said that only the closed in patio was available, but that it was warm. First of all there were seats elsewhere in the restaurant. We decided to go to the patio. No. It was not warm. Secondly, we were placed very close to an open window up above through which cold air came through. The temperature outside was 54 degrees. It was too cold with the wind coming in so we left. I heard in the past that they were catering to the young set, but did not think that it would be to that extent. We are both elderly and look it. They discriminate based on age.

Yelp
We loved this restaurant when they first opened. With beautiful decor & open concept kitchen. However after a recent visit we've discovered it's no longer worth the price. We had noted in our reservation we were celebrating our anniversary & that wasn't acknowledged during our visit. We were seated & didn't see a server for 15 minutes & then took another 15 minutes to get our drinks (2 beers - nothing complicated) No bread service ? Cheesesteak egg rolls ($17) were the highlight of the meal, however was a small portion for the price. We both ordered the 8oz filet ($50) ended up giving my husband half because it was too fatty for me. Mashed potatoes are one of my favorite foods so we ordered a side ($15) overpriced & underwhelming. Cacio Pepe rosti potatoes ($12) were dry & flavorless where's the Pepe (pepper) ?! Flourless chocolate torte ($14) small portion, dry, not great. The restrooms were disgusting with tissue everywhere, water all around sink & the worst part -- No Soap in dispensers (this was something we discovered here in the past but thought it was a fluke) Sad to say we won't be going back anytime soon.

Yelp
I took my Grandson 2 weeks ago to this restaurant it was amazing. He said before going here my mom said why don't you go to the Capital Grill he told me that I said you have to go to Del Frisco's. So we did it was so delicious the waitstaff was so good. Our waitress didn't bother us like lots of places. They brought him out a peice of cheese cake to die for. He wanted to finish all of his prime rib Steak and asked me to save a little piece of my steak so he could have his mom taste it so she would know how much better it was than Capital Grill. Thank you he had a nice birthday dinner here

Yelp
Always a good time. Best when it's not too busy. The signature cocktails, including the VIP is a "hit the right spot" type of beverage. One of the best charcuterie boards full of our favorite cheeses and meats, along with a delicious mustard spread and jam. The sides are amazing, best truffle Mac and cheese I have ever had. The steaks are delicious but the seafood options are also wonderful. The atmosphere is upbeat, I prefer not to sit to the right of the host stand, it tends to get very loud. I have yet to have enough room for desert, but hopefully soon. The rewards program is very much worth every penny of the annual cost. It pays back 10 fold if you frequent.

Yelp
Amazing customer service from the manager, Hector. He went above and beyond to make sure my elderly grandmother received her food delivery. I am forever grateful and will visit again.

Yelp
Stopped off for a few drinks after a dinner at a different restaurant. Bar prices were high but the bartender Zach was extraordinary. Fast very, personable and great attention to every detail in his cocktails. Most disappointing was the bathroom. Looks worse less than a bathroom at a MacDonalds rest stop. Trash overfilled and at lest twenty trashed paper towels all over the floor. If I was spending $200+ for dinner I would have been pissed. Surprised someone did not complain to the manager who appeared surprised when I told him. Tab was $85 for wine and a two cocktails

Cat O.

Yelp
Their pork chop was really good, grilled to perfection. Service was friendly and helpful.

Yelp
The patio doors were open on a 95 degree day !As we took our seats we noticed shortly there after how hot the back of the restaurant was. Only to be told , after we ordered our food , there were issues with the AC. Throughout or meal we were swatting away fruit flies that seemed to make there way our table and on top of our food. There werYes we should have left, but honestly we were meeting other friends there to celebrate an event we would not have been able to find another restaurant to dine at. Our waiter was great! The drinks got warm fast. My guests enjoyed their main course. That's all I can really say. When you book a restaurant like this you expect a certain level of quality especially if you are there for an important event. That is why we booked this venue. This was such a disappointment.

Anthony P.

Yelp
Food was fair. Medium steak would have been good if it was cooked correctly. Steak Came out pretty much raw and had to send it back which should never happen at a place known for its meat. Bread was stale, mashed potatoes were seasoned horribly to the point of being inedible, shrimp cocktail was very good and that was pretty much the only acceptable part of dinner. Service was horrific. If I didn't have to remind the waiter or someone else's wait person about taking order, drinks, bread, appetizers etc. I would still be there sitting at a table w menus and water. Not sure if it was staffing or total disorganization ?? Most likely both. I got more attention from the flies than I did from the staff. For the price I paid and experience here I would have been better off going to Macdonald's. .

Yelp
not even close to what I expect from Del Frisco's. This seems more like a chain mall restaurant than the quality and atmosphere of a Del Frisco's.

Yelp
I had a gathering of ten for dinner at Del Frisco's grill. It is hard to handle that size group and they did a wonderful job of keeping our table serviced, happy but not crowding us or trying to hurry our experience. The food was terrific and the atmosphere is great. It's fine dining without the enormous bill.

Yelp
I was going to get a table but I decided to sit at the bar and I'm so glad I did. I had a bartender named Anthony and he was an extremely charming young man. He was attentive and quick. and had a fun attitude that came along with him.

Yelp
Poor dining experience across the board. Salad came out AFTER the entree when I specifically asked to have it first, loaded baked potato was burned to a crisp and dry, dirty restaurant, fruit flies everywhere, poor customer service, management, etc.

Yelp
Just okay! Everything across the board from service, food, portion size, presentation was just okay. Nothing spectacular. Decor and sizing of restaurant is very nice, more than enough parking space. For a restaurant to be a bit pricey, I truly wasn't blown away.

Yelp
While the food is good, the professionalism of the staff is abysmal. My husband and I went there one weekday evening for dinner. We ordered drinks, appetizers, and main courses. The waiter offered "alternatives" to our orders. These options were not on the menu so we assumed because he offered these selections without mentioning a price difference they were not an up charge. Imagine our surprise when we found out our $43 listed steak nearly double in price to $82! At the time, the menu had no steak more expensive than $52. This also occurred with the Old Fashioned my husband had. We reached out to the manager, Hector, who promptly responded who offered to "make it right" on our next visit. We contacted him a month or so later about our plans for a dinner the next night and he said he would place our names on a reservation list for that night. When we showed up the hostess said there was no mention of our names. We asked about seeing Hector several times and received vague responses for hostess and waitstaff. Our waiter said he would come out and see us, he was just busy. We noticed during this dinner the menu had been appropriately edited to include the up charging on the previous dishes we had. We enjoyed our meal and asked again at the end for Hector, but they said he was gone now. It felt like he was avoiding us based on how the waitstaff acted. We reached out to him via email to see what happened and he never responded to us again. We live very close to this establishment and enjoyed the food and drinks a lot, but the prices are quite high and to be treated with such complete disregard ultimately has driven us to decide to never come here again. We felt manipulated and lied to. Fortunately, Capital Grille is opening just down the street in Dedham!

Yelp
"A Yankees fan walks into a bar..." I almost respect the Massholeness of this place for saying, "Sure yeah, we can totally put on the ALCS game. Just have a seat and talk to the bartender!" and then after they take my order, just refuse to do it. Bartender: "Ah, the remote's in the office, it's a total hassle," meanwhile four TVs all playing the post-game of a baseball game that's been over for a half an hour and then eventually transitions to a Nascar talk show, and the staff looks for busywork to do because there are like 4 people at the bar. Not super welcome to travelers just getting off the train looking for a spot to relax. This place is for townies.

Yelp
So if my tenderloin is $50, I'd like a plate garnish and I'd like it to NOT be over seasoned with salt and pepper. To make up for it, the veggies were not seasoned at all. The wine was overpriced ($25.00 online, 105 at the table). The cheese curds as a starter were one big greasy clump (dipping sauce was good). The biscuits were the best part. Service was OK but a bit slow, the table was sticky where it was wiped with an unclean cloth. This is not the sort of place itonce was, and the lack of guests shows it.

Yelp
If I got the same service and food at The 99 or Applebees it'd 'maybe' be four stars, but this place is supposed to be a high end Steakhouse and it is priced as such, so expectations are higher. A quick summary of the problems... - It took 10 minutes to get water, it'd be ok on a busy night but I observed our waitress chit-chatting at a nearby table. Obviously social and not order or work related. - Rolls were slow coming to the table as well and they weren't fully baked. - Food didn't arrive at the table together... I sat waiting for my steak just under 10 minutes after everyone else at the table was served. - A couple small things were missing, a side and some cranberry sauce. Not a big deal remedied quickly. - Our steaks were cooked wrong. My Ribeye was supposed to be Medium Rare it was Medium Well. My wife's Filet was supposed to be Medium it was Rare-to-Medium Rare. The waitress never asked how things were... we just swapped steaks as it wasn't worth the scene or time to get them exchanged. (I mean they weren't even close.) - We got a couple Cappuccino's which took forever. - Then we waited for her to come get the check... that was also nearly 10 minutes sitting there having finished dessert and coffee. Now... it was a holiday (Thanksgiving). So I was inclined to give leeway for this. That said... there were so many little things that I just couldn't attribute it all to the Holiday. The place wasn't extremely busy, less busier than a typical Friday/Saturday... plus the fact that this was our second time at this Del Frisco's; and last time was "mid" as well. I've been to the one in Boston a few times and remember it as being fairly decent. As it was a holiday I still tipped 15%, which amounted to over $50. I typically would give 20% (holiday or not) but just couldn't make myself today. In summary, skip this joint and find a Ruth's Chris or a Capital Grille instead. You'll be happier.

Yelp
Amazing!! Went here for my sister's birthday dinner and it was definitely the right choice. For an appetizer I had the cheesesteak egg rolls and they were delicious, they had the perfect amount of sweetness. For my entree, I had the shaved prime steak sandwich, and let me tell you, they are not stingy with the steak. The sandwich is thick and the steak is juicy, delicious! Definitely a place I'll recommend to others for event dinners.

Yelp
We got the corn chowder, cheesesteak egg rolls, deviled eggs, a Shirley temple and a Guinness. At least the drinks were fit for consumption. Bill: $65 ‍ ...do I need to clarify that you should not eat here? You should not eat here. One star for friendly service.
