Del Ray Pizzeria is cute popular, especially with families, so if you plan on eating here, I'd recommend either earlier or later-or you can order takeout! We arrived around 6:30pm on a Saturday and had about a 15-20 minute wait. They never texted us when it was ready, but we went back at the 20 minute mark and they sat us right away. Parking can be tricky in Del Ray and they have a few spots (8 or so I think) available behind their building-you just need to see them for a "permit" when you go inside. Outside dining fills up quickly and they are accommodating of highchairs and strollers out there. We sat inside with a high chair.
Of course, we ordered pizza from a pizzeria. We were told we could do a 1/2 and 1/2 of the signature creations.....if they had the same base sauce. With this in mind, we chose 1/2 of a smokin' hot chick (chipotle marinara, shredded mozz, smoked gouda, chicken, red onions, jalapenos and 1/2 midnight marauder (chipotle marinara, smoked mozzarella, 'nduja, spicy salami, spicy oregano, crushed reds). The midnight was the favorite half of the two. The marinara was spicy but had added spice from the spicy salami and crushed red pepper. The 'nduja is a smoked spicy pork that was delicious too. The smoking' hot chick was lacking even distribution of ingredients and was scant on chicken and jalapeños. I loved this crust too! It was soft and chewy and flavorful-tasted a bit like sourdough crust. A large was 8 slices and perfect between the two of us for $19 (plus tax). If you save room Dairy Godmother is next door for dessert! Our service was really awesome too and attentive without being obnoxious. The beer list seems great and I'd love to return to pair a cold one with a new type of pizza soon!
